@JUDE Right..my blood started boiling when he did that, and it wasn't like he did it after a few moments, it was right when he entered the house, and the way he did it screamed terror..the episode went further, after his arrest at the undercover house, he was at the precinct and one of the officers found a hotel cardkey, they found what hotel it was from and waited for a search warrant, after the warrant was approved by a judge in that county, the officers found: a bag with rolls of film, digital camera, video camera, his wallet with his id in it and some cash, his laptop computer, it was later deduced to he was going to film the assault of an underaged girl and have his pedophile friends watch it online.

Sort of. That’s what it seems like, but they’re actually trying to get a confession. It’s very hard to prosecute somebody for online activity because the law requires you to confirm that you are the actual person that sent those messages. Example: a lot of predators are protected when no harm was actually done because without verbal and a direct confession or discussion about his actions, you can’t lawfully prove for prosecution that HE was the one that typed and sent the messages, even though it came from the phone BELONGING to the predator. Disappointing, I know. But the “my friend took my phone” actually holds up in court unless they have pictures of him that were sent in chat, or a verbal confession. This is an important factor in the job, what Hansen is doing. He’s getting them to talk about it before they realize they have the right to remain silent, and that remaining silent is the only thing protecting them as soon as they show up to the house.
