This is based on an experience Stewart Lee had. He got locked out his B&B after a gig. A fan offered him to stay at his. In the room was a wall full of posters of loads of comedians, but mostly of Stewart Lee. That fan was radio DJ, Christian O’Connell.

I really hope he doesn't need to sell furniture and just really enjoys it before going home to his Emmerdale money, he's good people.

I have a theory. This is where graham linehan and arthur mathews got the idea for the Nazi episode. Dermot Morgan (Fr Ted) turns on the light and the room is full of Nazi memorabilia!!
Fun theory and could be plausible depending on shooting schedules - this aired on 01/12/97 whereas that episode of Father Ted was 13/03/98. Guess it depends how long they spent in post-production after shooting!

Yeah, I love that bit. It's the way he clears the stile with surprising athleticism (probably from the adrenaline of fleeing a madman), plus the moan of abject fear he makes while sailing through the air. The way it's all shot and put together, it does feel oddly realistic, and somehow that makes it 3 times funnier.
Is this why that word is always bleeped out whenever I've seen this shown on Dave/G.O.L.D./UKTVGold (it's been repeated hundreds of times over the last decade).

Has anyone ever experienced false memories with tv episodes where when you watch them for the second time they are different from how you remember them the first time round? I have that feeling with this episode because when Alan drives off after calling Jed a mentalist I remember him driving for a lot longer than he actually did before he arrived at the dead end!😃
