I listen to Alan Partridge’s audio books and podcasts each evening before sleep to help me cope with the waking nightmare of the reality we all live in, I combine that with looking in the mirror and slapping myself round the face while screaming “you’ve got to get through this”.
😂❤
Don't forget the Radio 4 series too, still stands up as top notch Alan. The 7th episode is great, a behind the scenes mockumentary - the only time Carol appears in his work. Even though she's just wailing in the background.
Jack a knack a nory.
@@hb-fc3jj What's the radio series called please?
@@morgsta54
Knowing me, knowing you with Alan Partridge.
7x half hour episodes. Same format as the original TV series, disastrous chat show. Every episode ending with 'and on that bombshell' The guests are played by Rebecca Front, Patrick Marber, Doon Mckihan (sp?) And David Schneider. It is top class early AP, sits alongside KMKYWAP very well.
It was pre the first TV series. About 1992-1993. Its definitely on audible and yt
You need a ginsters.
This commentary is 10 on 10, equidistant between chat and analysis.
was it ross kemp who said that?
This has to be the best comment we have ever had. Where you from Nik? Do you know the Boxley Wheatsheaf?
Or, chanalysis if you will?

"An event we haven't seen in this country for 70 years, and won't see again for another 10. 15 if he's lucky"
😂😂
"Bold move by Welby. But that's why they pay him the big bucks."
This is just wonderful. The reverence, the respect and the nod to what is one of Britains most iconic things, the Audi Quattro. Thank you Alan, thank you.
If Alan had been the official BBC commentator I would have actually watched the coronation
😁Would love to hear him present Eurovision
@@tracypanavia4634Brilliant idea!
I'd likely pay the TV licence.
Footnote. After 2 seconds of consideration, I decided I wouldn't pay after all.
Same with the screen off
I did wonder if it was Alan during that journey from Balmoral to the underworld.
From the Oasthouse is pure Partridge perfection
Yes !!!!!
Or Partrifection
Its got a Buck Rogers toilet.
Its up there with the best audio only content. Peak partridge has to be Mid Morning Matters
@@Supreme_Clientele yes, absolutely, Tim absolutely makes that show
“ forged from an Audi Quattro ,the Kings favorite car “ - caused me to choke on my G&T with laughter
Thank you Alan
Best audio commentary I heard since Gary Wilmot's wedding
I saw Bill Oddie at the wedding, he looked very angry. Goodbye!
But not the best breakfast 😂
Back of the net.😁
I wouldn't wish that on a sausage.
I was just saying that to Sue Cook the other day!
7:23 "He'd love that. He'd absolutely piss himself at that." LOL
Steve Coogan and Alan Partridge are national treasures. Couldn't stop laughing. 😂
Pssst they live together.
The reggae music, so adored by his father😂
Royal decorum preventing William from getting the buzz cut is just genius, and the way Alan loses his decorum with every slurp is just so well observed 😢
I'm french so I don't fully understand everything but I love Alan Partridge. Can we have a third season for "This Time" please ? 😊
FOURmidable? Mais Oui

You have Alain Partridge from Marseille, a truck driver.. probably retired by now
You have Alain Partridge from Marseille, a truck driver.. probably retired by now
coogan should be knighted for alan partridge. In my oppinion the character is up there with blackadder, basil fawlty, del boy etc. the absolute elite of british comedy.
Even surpasses these giants I would say. For a comedy character to so successfully make the jump from sitcoms to two genuinely funny books and now podcasts is unparalleled. The man's a genuis and the Gibons brothers have done a Ben Elton and taken a great show and improved it.
You did hear Coogan's dig at Rob Brydon in this podcast for accepting an MBE...?
It says more about the honours system that Coogan hasn't and probably will never receive an honour, despite being up there as one of the most popular British comedians of his generation. Coogan's comedy is about class structure in the UK, and to use the words of Partridge he is a well known voter of the red team and a republican. He called out Michael MacIntyre and fellow monarchist Rob Brydon MBE for attending.
@DustyCustard He was teasing him I think. They're good mates.
Every mannerism, micro expression, word, awkward pause is genius
It's really hard to explain why he's as funny as he is
Lo-fi Alan to Study and Relax to
The ASMR of the champers slurps made me come over all tingly...
Respectful. And he bloody well earned that gig.
All the gravitas and dignity so sadly lacking from the BBC's coverage, thanks Alan, premier league!
"so posh people can roam freely with their Labradors, hip hip hooray". 😂😂😂
Oasthouse may be my favourite partridge yet
Alan & Huw on coronation commentary duty together would of been a match made in heaven 👍💯
what a gem - an unexpected delightful surprise
Ten on Ten for this little special. Get in.
Can I shock you? I like wine, despite what I said before.
INSTEAD OF MUSIC , WE PLAYED THIS AT MY MOTHERS FUNERAL, AT LEAST I LAUGHED .
new partridge is always such a treat
Love that Rosa is still working her magic!
Gou Campare?
Alan Partridge righting a terrible broadcasting wrong-this is the coronation the world deserved!
Bit like the Chris Feathers contract, the BBC welch on every promise they have ever made.
Genius..we need Alan more than ever .
I hardly dare laugh (and I wanted to - badly) in case I missed yet another gem. Well done and thank you for posting.
Top class. One side of the hooves branded with Vorsprung durch Technik 😊😂
Harry two tours of Afghanistan and William three tours of, I believe, Angelsey really made me laugh
You'll laugh even louder when I tell you it was Anglesey!
@@mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm420 "Anglesea is a town in Victoria, Australia. It is located on the Great Ocean Road in the Surf Coast Shire local government area." - that was a new one on me
Having served at the same time as both of them, this was very much a popular topic of dig at Wills 😂
I think William's helicopter squadron were based there in Anglesey (Wales).
Harry was called 'Bunker Harry' by his mates out there due to spending all his time playing video games in a bunker. Whereas William was an Emergency Air Rescue helicopter pilot for 5 years.
Omg,I e literally only just come across, love Alan Partridge, sitting in the garden laughing my head off, absolute class!!!
"Prince William, the balding Prince William, who won't just have done with it and get a buzz cut.." 😂
😂
This would have been perfect on Channel 4 in a similar way to their alternative Christmas message. Would have been a ratings smash.
I thought I couldn't laugh more at five minutes in ... But I was mush at the point he said "...robot Rasta..."
"Musical nonce...sausagey fingers...Nicholas Witchell tripping over a bin..."
This is as good as the best of Peter Cook. I think Coogan and the Gibbons were in a "flow state" of excellence where they couldn't do any wrong.
Even the asides "What more can you say about fucking horses?" were Olga Corbett brilliant.
Baby Cow! Another Alan film in twelve months please! Xxx
Completely agree, I think this is among the best of Alan - the horse shoes tangent sent me over the edge
The "Vorsprung durch Technik" bit had Kenco coming out my nostrils...
Absolutely brilliant....more please Steve. 😂😂😂😂😂
I love that crude sip from his cup that great men like Alan would do
Brilliant! Genuinely made my week finding this!!!
I laughed so much, thanks for posting this!
Every time he drinks and mutters 😂
I have to keep rewinding it cos I'm laughing so much...genius
Just like being there! Many thanks, Alan Partridge.
So glad he is still a sought after broadcaster 😂
Alan romancing the Mona Lisa is something I believe actually happened.
Genius writing and delivery. Vivian Stanshall would approve.
Grand Piano.............
3 tours of Anglesey 😂
“Lovely stuff”

Did Alan get a third series of something?! Absa-bloody-magnificent.
Technically, it's the second tranche of the second series.
@@simonvaughan6017 makes sense.
@@Catonius If I remember correctly, during Series 2, Tranche 1, Alan implies that Audible is profiteering by dividing the second series into two parts that have to be paid for separately.
Enough of the "tranche" FFS
@@ohdear2001 Not my word; the word of Alan Partridge.
This is one of the best things he's done - funny from start to finish.
I'm a long-time fan, but I'll admit that This Time made me think the whole AP thing was going off the boil.
But this is classic, inspired material. Love it.
Back of the net!
I thought the same but I rewatchwed this time and found it much better than when I first watched it.
I couldn't disagree with you more!
But i'll give it a go.
'This Time' was phenomenal!!! - I LOVED it.
I command you to watch it again, there were SO MANY GLORIOUS MOMENTS, i promise you'll see that you were being unreasonable and petty, and you're better than that!!!
Ah-HA!
@@stevehunt914 😂 Nice one.
My main problem was that he lost the essence of AP. As a standalone, it was OK, but he lost the AP vibe - different voice, unusual mannerisms, strange attitudes. But on this upload, you just know it's caught the AP character as we 'know' him.
Cheers. 👍
@@M123OCTI think the changes in character may be a nod to the fact that Alan knew he was on air at the BBC GODDAMMIT, so needed to behave a certain way.
I too, did not like This Time at first but it really grew on me over time
" His other wife" too funny
Amazing, didn't know this bonus existed, I could listen to Alan's musings from the oasthouse all day
Wonderful, this sums up the idiocy of Monachal pageantry. Meanwhile I enjoyed not having to work for a day. 😜
To which I would reply quite simply, “Do you mind? That’s actually a very rude question to ask. It’s none of your business”
I always think: WTF are those medals for?
Classic Partridge there 😂
Nicely researched. The amount of times they say '...looking resplendent' on these things is definitely worth a bit of piss taking.
Those champagne gulps 😂
19:14 robot rasta 😂 lovely stuff
The thought goes into the words and the noises he makeS. Absolutely genius
'For Gods sake Welby.....go easy!
Classic Alan Partridge.
Omg yes! Pre-ordered it 🤘
Great mention of Rory Stewart and his outfit hired from a fancy dress shop, the writers must be Rest is Politics pod listeners.
Prime Partridge. Loved the dig at Rob Brydon.
Really hope the third series is an improvement of the second. Listening to this I am very excited! THE KING!
‘Bish-bash-bosh! back to the palace for some nosh’ Partridge on top form
