I listen to Alan Partridge’s audio books and podcasts each evening before sleep to help me cope with the waking nightmare of the reality we all live in, I combine that with looking in the mirror and slapping myself round the face while screaming “you’ve got to get through this”.
Don't forget the Radio 4 series too, still stands up as top notch Alan. The 7th episode is great, a behind the scenes mockumentary - the only time Carol appears in his work. Even though she's just wailing in the background. Jack a knack a nory.
@@morgsta54 Knowing me, knowing you with Alan Partridge. 7x half hour episodes. Same format as the original TV series, disastrous chat show. coogan should be knighted for alan partridge. In my oppinion the character is up there with blackadder, basil fawlty, del boy etc. the absolute elite of british comedy.
Even surpasses these giants I would say. For a comedy character to so successfully make the jump from sitcoms to two genuinely funny books and now podcasts is unparalleled. The man's a genuis and the Gibons brothers have done a Ben Elton and taken a great show and improved it.
It says more about the honours system that Coogan hasn't and probably will never receive an honour, despite being up there as one of the most popular British comedians of his generation. Coogan's comedy is about class structure in the UK, and to use the words of Partridge he is a well known voter of the red team and a republican. He called out Michael MacIntyre and fellow monarchist Rob Brydon MBE for attending.
