Note: roughly at the 20 minute mark there is a claim that alloy has the lowest radar/sonar signature.
I forgot to mention in the video that this is technically incorrect, as rubber has a lower signature than alloy. 👍
Borderwise, did you see Lathrix's CRAM-only adventure mode run?
@@SephirothRyu I did! Very impressive. Left an impressed comment. 😁
Obamium when? (Same or less material cost)
With armour stacking being massively reduced to only the block behind the gap between metal and alloy is much smaller now but like Borderwise says it still feels noticeable weaker.
Heh, It feels like below sometimes.
Beginner >1000hrs
Amateur >2000hrs>1000hrs
Journeyman >4000hrs>2000hrs
Intermediates >8000hrs>4000hrs
I would say intermediate is the first few factions. Maybe DWG, OW, and maybe white flyers in normal or below defeated
agreed
Here's a tip I discovered with flares: you can configure them to kick in a few seconds after launch. Since thermal flares are so short lived, it can help (but not too much, since IR tracking missiles have a narrower cone of vision.)
You can also stagger their activation a bit, so that they still have a time of maximum power due to overlap, but may pull missiles with weaker signal filtering for longer.
As an idea of how effective heavy armour wedges are, I made an armour testing platform where I made a super over the top kinetic railgun, 500mm by 8m of pure solid warhead with huge draw and it still deflected. Same HP and AP on a flat wall, the projectile went straight through one side and out the other.
Intermediate is when you take time at school or work to open a spreadsheet to make aps tetris
Whelp, I'm still a beginner then. I haven't done that. XD
Excellent tutorial. My one critique is that I found the baroque music a bit hard to tune out.
Got it. Should I reduce volume or find different music do you reckon?
@@BorderWise12 I'd say different music. Baroque seems to peak on the strings a lot, and that's the part that gets me. I'm hypersensitive to sound, so I think it's probably more of a ME problem. Not sure, I'd solicit additional input.
@@BorderWise12personally, I actually find it OK, but that's also just me
YOOO Lets go my 5 minute craft is on yt (I have 900hrs in this game at time of making it)
Alloy is the most effective for the radar signature stuff is what I meant. Rubber IS lower but why would you ever make something out of rubber?
Cheers! Rubber is good for stuff that you're confident is not going to get hit. Early campaign submarines, for example. 😁
Great video!:D loads of good advice and notes.
what about frag ciwis? i dont know if it works, but seems like it works with a small frag angle, + its good for point defence against other ships, but kinetic might be better bc of armor pen
Frags don't damage projectiles, unfortunately.
@@BorderWise12 oh sad, then it was just the cram canon was weak
