Good video! Early on, obviously, you don't have a lot of OGCDs to work with (especially as a healer). It wasn't until I started doing high end content as a WHM that I really learned the value of OGCD healing. I've even been challenged by one of my healing "sempai"s to do some content ONLY using OGCD healing, which had me frightened at first! I think, a big thing is getting comfortable with the ebb and flow of battle, and learning when someone being down a few HP isn't detrimental. Yeah I like seeing everyone topped off, but as a Tank or as a healer, full HP isn't possible all the time, nor is it necessarily needed.

Thank you, Stephan, this is very helpful! I play Red Mage, and I'm intrigued by how you have your hot bars set up. Is there a methodology that you have since you play multiple classes in setting up your layout? I've been adjusting my layout for efficiency and I'm curious how others do it. I'm sure everyone is different. I played BLM to level 80, but got so far ahead of the MSQ that I decided to level Red Mage. I LOVE it I can actually move around lol. Please keep doing these. You are a very good 'explainer'!

Perfect timing with the new savage content. Personally, after playing for almost 5 months I didn’t do savage in pre-EW. So I really didn’t get weaving etc. I thought I did. But I didn’t! Started doing savage and got some feedback my DPS was balls. Went to a training dummy for the first time ever with a balance rotation. And per our convo/video, weaving totally helped! I realized just HOW MUCH I was underplaying my main (AST) and have now gone from P1S to P3S. It’s a game changer and I look forward to using this knowledge for other jobs!! Fun fact, my Tank DPS and Healer jobs I prioritize are also GNB RDM and AST hahah!!

I play on a controller and use to have alot of troble with the cards on ast so I did a /tt macro on my damage abilities just so I could play the cards right I always figured I'm a healer the little dps loss is going to out weigh the boost I give to a party member fuck I was wrong tho
I went from being always last in enmity to being 4 or 5th generally fighting with the whm on position lol
Last night I worked on 1 for cards ast pretty painful on controller atm trying to aim cards to the right person
But with the /as melodic/tt I never thought it would be a dps loss as I was just using it to target ( wow brain lol ) I had each damage spell on a different macro not understanding the spell queuing I thought that ment doing multiple gcds
Weaving is hella fun if done properly. Admittedly, I try a bit too hard to shoot for 2nd on the aggro list, but hey, im never a couple seconds without hitting anything. Bop bop bop the Monk goes LOL

The problem with BLM is mobility, oGCD also promoves mobility, so I'm always in doubt what to do, more damage or stay alive 🤣
this is lame needs to be removed
I really hope you fixed that awful gcd on gunbreaker, much too fast for anything savage
