I love Finland as a Eurovision country. You can't know what they are sending. Ah those "crazy Finns" is the first thing what you are always thinking when you heard their song.
Well, most magical thing for me over all the weird and great ones was when we sent a band of 4 mentally disabled men who spend their lives in care homes. That is a bold move without maybe looking for the victory, but they gave a voice and chance to mentally disabled, who else does it? Band was called Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät.

This guy deserved the trophy more than anyone else. He: - sang in his own language - blew everyone away in the arena - got the most points from the people by a significant margin - conveyed an awesome message; don’t be afraid of the world, embrace your individuality. What else could someone do to win? Loreen is talented, but Tattoo was no Euphoria.
I came here to understand why so many people voted for a song and a stage performance that i found gross. Reading comments like this makes me guess: People celebrate this guy for embracing this freaky (and for my taste awkward) style and having the balls bringing it to the public. It's actually more about getting out of your comfort zone. You can see the story in the performance and the song itself. First he's stressed out and frustrated but at the end he finally dares to start dancing and his anxiety is set free. That's when the whole song changes to a happier mood. "Now I start dancing, like cha cha cha, and I'm not afraid of this world anymore."

i mean from a music standpoint Swedens song was just far better, vocally, lyrics performance technique. Finlands song was just catchy and it shows on the public vote. But also remember that tattoo almost has triple the amount of listens than Finlands song on spotify

The televotes should have been the focus last night. That’s what they should have called up all of Europe for. I just heard it for the first time to check what the "hype" was all about. Can't say I like it at all. Not gonna listen to it again. For me, the Norwegian one was better.
I still remember watching this with my friend. We didn't watch anything beforehand and didn't know any of the songs and performances. We saw him and his clothes and were fully convinced it will be one of those crazy Eurovision performances. Started bobbing our heads during the first verse and were fully dancing by the chorus. That was electric and Finland should definitely have won.
Same in slovenia, a few days after esc our uni had our yearly picnic party and cha cha cha came on 3 times, when no other song was replayed throughout the night even once.

This final last night was my first time EVER watching any Eurovision, and my first time hearing this song, and by god i was a different person after hearing it. Käärijä may you live forever. I'm glad the public vote (which I think we all agree should be the real decider of the winners) understood his vision.

It's actually more about getting out of your comfort zone. You can see the story in the performance and the song itself. First he's stressed out and frustrated but at the end he finally dares to start dancing and his anxiety is set free. That's when the whole song changes to a happier mood. "Now I start dancing, like cha cha cha, and I'm not afraid of this world anymore."

Yep. That's the reason I watch a lot of vids recorded by the audience. Especially those from the upper sections; you can see the great light design & hear the whole crowd sing along. The vocals sound better from the audience, too. ✨✨✨✨✨

@@Piia2023 You are right. I usually don't watch ESC ( couldn't care less ) but this year something -intuition you can say- got me to follow this from UMK forward.
And boy, my intuition was right again ( it has been right many times in different things ).
Sadly to say, I won't be watching ESC again if my intuition is silent and I think it will be so many years to come.
But I will follow Käärijä and his blooming career, that is sure.😊.

For me, the Norwegian one was better.
I still remember watching this with my friend. We didn't watch anything beforehand and didn't know any of the songs and performances. We saw him and his clothes and were fully convinced it will be one of those crazy Eurovision performances. Started bobbing our heads during the first verse and were fully dancing by the chorus. That was electric and Finland should definitely have won.

This final last night was my first time EVER watching any Eurovision, and my first time hearing this song, and by god i was a different person after hearing it. Käärijä may you live forever. I'm glad the public vote (which I think we all agree should be the real decider of the winners) understood his vision.
Before the 1st semifinal, I've only listened to Norway's song so I was rooting for her, but after hearing this masterpiece for the first time, I gave all of my votes to Finland. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime performance. You're our KING Käärijä 👑💚
