I think that the reason the 2007 Leader Class Optimus Prime didn't end up like the Revenge of The Fallen Optimus Prime is because Hasbro was most likely using just the concept art. Most if not all of the 2007 figures have the year 2006 on them. Meaning that Hasbro weren't able to see the finished CGI model and how Optimus Prime transformed.

Glad i got this as both a christmas present and a Hand-Me-Down from my cousin to boot and i am glad i got him as well as the underrated IMO Leader class ROTF Megatron and I think he is kind of better than the Studio series one, the SS one is 70 bucks on amazon now and the size of the OG figure just brings me joy to handle and the ratchet joints are OH SO GOOD after all these years
I know a lot of people don't care for it, but I still miss the days when Leader Class figures came with lights and sounds. It just made the feel that much more.... extra. The HFTD Leader Starscream still stands as one of my all time favorite figures, even compared to the MPM Starscream (Though to be fair, the MPM does have some compromises compared to the Leader, but that robot mode is pristine). I just wish the Leader Screamer had been given real voice clips like this figure has, rather than clearly not the VA like we got. Also holy cow this figure is awesome, and I might need to hunt it down.
Its a shame inflation and rising oil prices are a thing. Fortunately the new commander class has the same chunk factor as the old leaders, minus the gimmicks.

I just bought the MB-11 Optimus Prime for $138 on Ebay. I got an MPM Oversize DOTM Prime but that is unfortunately not the easiest thing to place with. But fortunately for me, I'll be getting my first Leader Prime soon.
“And as such, I think next week we have a bittersweet way to celebrating such. It’s the end of an era and this particular video is but a prelude, so see you next week and I’ll see you all for some pain...” Oh boy, this next video is going to be a big deal 👀

Before everyone got picked up, I had gotten up and one of the adults had me stand in front of everyone and showed them the truck, then turned my back to them and transformed it. Ah, ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime, the first Transformer figure that I bought on my own. I fondly remember buying his Hunt for the Decepticons version with the battle hooks at my local discount store way back in 2011. His design, on-screen accuracy, and articulation still astound. To me, he represented the ups and downs of collecting Transformers. To clarify, I enjoyed playing with this masterpiece but enjoyed too much to the point of breaking him at the black hinge joint. Never again will I carry any Leader Class figure in a shoe box. The pain of breaking him is lessened by the fact that I only spent less than $20 on him back in 2011, but I still wish that my own copy would be repaired ... somehow. A pipe dream, I'm sure. I remember getting this guy when I was a kid, cuz the only other Optimus I had was Energon and I didn't know about any of the toylines going on at the time other than the bayverse. I messed around with it cuz it was my best prime, but for the love of god, I hated this figure then, and I do now. His proportions make him look ridiculous, everything on him flaps and flops away, the transformation is easy yet so unpleasant in how nothing wants to snap into place, the chest thing is annoying and I hate it, the swords won't stay in, his hands suck, he feels uncomfortable to hold, he has ball-jointed feet and it didn't take long for him to become impossible to pose... I know there are bayverse fans, and I got alot of toys from the rotf line, and I've played with them, and I got a bunch of them for some reason, and I think as a kid I just enjoyed having transformers at all, but I wish so bad that they had been making wfc when I was a kid, because that's what I always really wanted, just nice, poseable figures with the more simplified look and feel that makes them nice to hold. Ugh, why did it have to have some garbage light and sound gimmick? Why does his chest do this gross undulation whenever you activate it? Why did he just say, "I am Optimus Prime." I know, alot of people have nostalgia for this toyline, and it played a big part in my childhood too, it represents most of my childhood transformers collection, but I just have no reverence for it because I was getting those toys and then sitting and watching the 86 movie wishing I could get modernized, non-masterpiece versions of the g1 figures, beast wars figures, ect. I know, cringe, but that's what I always wanted. I don't get the appeal of this giant ass dummy saying his own name as every part of him flops apart and stabs into my palms.

I thought you were going to give this 4.5 stars since you were criticizing some of the questionable articulation choices.
I don't do decimals.
Vaughan should destroy leader Jetfire for the crap faux-scottish voice alone.
Maybe ROTF Jetfire didn't read the disclaimer
