Love these series of reviews, incredibly thoughtful and thorough! What are your thoughts on the Empire mercenaries available to the Exiles? If there any reason to take them over, say Squires or Brigands? I suspect they are purely there for narrative reasons, but interested if you see a different role for them.
Definitely mate! im neck deep in peasants right now so even if its not big battles immediately therell be plenty of Brets on the channel in future... I sort of want to make a castle aswell....
I wonder what they'll do with the empire. There are 3 different civil war factions after all. I was kinda suprised to see ulrican units (warrior priests) in the base army.
@@scelonferdi It think that´s the key - the basic army list.. ;) You kidna need one like the old editions books´ Hopefully we get some nice ones in the Arcane Journals. Playing The Empire will be nice this edition, it takes skill and the Ez Mode kids won´t play them as they don´t udnerstand what tactics are. Just min-maxing the shiny shit.. Let´s show them how to play with a brain!
@@ja37d-34 Thing is, in many editions there weren't Ulrican Warrior Priests in the empire army list. So I expected them to be a Wolf Empire Army of infamy thing. Imho you could've ideally had the basic list represent the sigmarite/electoral empire (leaderless and fractured at this point in time), and do 3 armies of infamy for the ottilan and wolf empire + Marienburg. Incidentally each of those has different patron deity (Sigmar, Ulric, Taal and Manaan).

Ive got O&G booked in to do with an "expert" (as much as anyone can be atm haha), Dark elves is on prerelease now coming out tuesday and going to film hopefully sunday an ogre vid at the behest of a comment last week so will prioritise Lizards after that!
Using the Ironweld Greatcannon as a bombard certainly makes sense. In addition to rebasing it, I'd also take off the crane and slightly modify the gun so it doesn't look like breachloading from iron cups (which is a swivel gun). Crew with a ramrod and some round shot would be nice too.
Ive not studied them as much as I would have liked (as ive not used them) to put out a video on them but will certainly give my thought! The green knight: Not overly expensive on the face of it for the character when considering he cant be hurt by non magical weapons and cant be permanently killed but inbuilt with that is if he doesnt show up turn 1 its going to be t3 before he can get into combat and if he dies T4 after that hell come back T5 (maybe) and charge T6 He has mid level armour and 5++ ward isnt great but more he's got something when someone gets through his ethereal, and his output being 4A and -1AP im not super hot on, more of a chaff killer because of it and is helped by the mobility Overall I think he's Great for use against Chaff and things without magical attacks but beware peoples lords etc which can tank the AP1 and hit back harder Cecil Gastonne: Cheap as chips for a character that attacks at S5 with monstersayer and multi wounds 2 so dont even have to just rely on the 6s to wound which I really like Not as much to say as the Green knight, but would have liked a mounted Option here (though fits my foot knight based army nicely) Lady Elise: 225 within realms of any lvl3-4 wizards with a couple of items and also mounted on unicorn: Solid magical defence, and any double being irresistible dispel is great and worth being lvl 3 not lvl4 id say just based on the defence, and having 2 sig spells is a solid addition as the Bret spelt are great IMO the Chalice is nice but really not what your coming for, and not being able to stack into a lance properly because of base size limits how close you want to get to enemies
oops thanks for pointing it out before I used it wrongly against someone! Definitely still worthwhile I think though for turning that fatal 1 into anything but!

Pilgrims definitely not good in Exiles IMO you can’t even have a Relicque

The crusader clarion can sadly only be used on a Bretonnian warhorse, it's written in its text rules. So not with pegasi :(
ooops: luckily for peg knights the S4 all the time and 6 on the charge will rip through most things handily
