It does a good job but you will have to crop your images to get a closer moon photo as I did with mine. Still, given that anything with a 400 plus focal length is at least twice the price this is a good lens to start with.
Nice. You should practice manual focusing with it at various zoom lengths to get a good feel for it. I’d love a longer lens myself, but the advantage of the M6 mark II’s 32 megapixels is that you can crop in quite a lot before loosing detail. Have fun learning your new lens ✌️

I would have used the same gear as you too. I'm going out tomorrow to use the 55-250 on some landscape shots.
