I did this and i used them sandbags as weapon placements. as for the extra guys i sacrificed a regular 10 man and used what i needed to make it look more official.
Honestly, 3D printing + GW bits = about 2-3 times more models. Also many people add those ETB Cadians as second model, technically it's more appropriate since HWT have extra Lasgun in addition to their heavy weapon.
That's so smart. Since you would be missing one member of the team I would just put down like a helmet and if anybody asks just say he got shot and that's all that's left
One Cadian Heavy Weapons Squad box. One Cadian basic infantry box (even before the upgrade sprue was added). A couple of spare 60mm bases. Build the tripods with the heavy bolters, autocannons and lascannons interchangeably. Put the mortars on those spare bases with standing Cadians next to them. Build the missile launcher teams like that too. Also a great way to produce some more heavy weapons teams. Added to that, I simply built the missile launcher and loader models with 25mm bases, and made a silicon rubber mould for a 60mm base with some sandbags, and, you guessed it, two 26mm indentations for the trooper models to stand in. That way I might even remove a trooper as some sort of Wound marker, and still appease the 'purists' who claim you 'must' build your heavy weapons squads onto 60mm bases.
One way to add second models to bases is to make "partial guardsmen" out of spare heads and/or arms. Strategically placed, so they look like they're peaking out from under a trapdoor, poking out of a tunnel, hiding in bushes, positioned beneath camouflage or a tarp, buried under rubble, or blown into bloody pieces. If you want a bit more of a "real" body, you might use separate bits from companies like Anvil. Or you might duplicate torsos by making molds from them using silicone caulking (make sure it says "100% silicone") + corn starch to make it non-sticky and easy to work with. These molds can then be filled with resin or plaster of paris/dental plaster. Since the Cadian and Catachan torsos are separate from the legs, it can simple to make a one part mold (the bottom of the torso being the top-facing hole you pour the material into once the mold is made). The presence of holes due to air bubbles is less of a concern, if you weather or position them correctly, or do some filing or filling as needed.
When these first came out 20 years ago I combined the cadian box sets the Mortar teams I used standing cadians same for the missile launchers a box set of 20 cadians were 10 quid then and the heavy weapon box set was 12 quid
Cool. Thinking of doing this with the new krieg kits. But om afraid theyll have a new plastic krieg lineup and id just be spending more (buying the krieg troops to place them on the platforms).
Definitely not new, but nice to share as part of the project and an opportunity to get some tips from seasoned Guard players. Bluecho4 had some great ideas about adding heads and arms coming out of trapdoors or bushes to represent the second model. What do you use to represent the second model?
WELL thare ok me i ues the torax guys if did what do the in side and think the other tanks come with haff a guy just green stuff you got legs and if got bits like we all do you shud have legs or two exsra or get some frome advel so you got loders fore thr team s last thing if had to if have to mak molds and caast what need or if got one yes the 3 d printer you know youl have heeds and armes but tune now the guns me i put a manet in try pod and a bolt peace of metal rod yesd paper clip or a whosher so you swop em out if like and amo boxes just popsel stiks cut and glued and paint green with dekal IGs stuff on it or just nubers or what think goes on one thare you got two men teams prime and paint thats my think on it

It would be good to have the extra guys on there.

I mean, if you're 3d printing parts, it raises the question why you're not just printing the whole model and be done with it.
@@Bluecho4 if you are playing competitively you might get away with just using some printed heads, printing the whole mini is a bit far
If you want to go two man teams just a normal guy with lasgun would be fine and they are very easy to get cheap.
Yeah I think I will add some more guys on there later on.

And now, all on 50mm bases !

Love those ideas! Having some trapdoors would look brilliant, thank!
I dunno why but I really like the arrow thing you do when pointing at things
Always good when you can get more out of a GW kit.
Thanks for this video.
Thanks for watching!

Brilliant man. I prefer only one mini on the base anyway as easier to track casulties
Thanks!

That's a great way to get them in line with the rules.

Be good to see what is planned for Krieg when the codex is announced.

That's heresy. That is the definition of Tech-Heresy. No no no no.
Oh no, what have I done!? 🤪

This was helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful, thank you.
When that green arrow came out I laughed my balls off.
It has a personality of it's own for sure 🤣
Know what ? Now let's set all of them on 50 mm bases ! 😅
It didn't age well 🤣
3d print as many squads as you want
Can't wait to see your progress
Just finished some big models! Can't wait to share the next update. It's almost time to get painting.
I love this!
Awesome, thanks for watching!
just run lascannons
Hate to say, this is not new information. Been doing this for over a decade already...
