Well pyro did it to himself and made it worse by making his "apology" video and name dropping Xeno and also blaming the FF14 community for his outburst and coming off like a narcissist and saying "Oh its the cool thing to make fun of me because i have issues" instead of taking real accountability.
Man, if Pyro had just kept his fucking head down, did the MSQ and some of the more involved side quests, and did Lore videos... He'd be eating so good right now. There's a massive hole where Ethys Asher used to be just evaluating references, story inspirations and deeper lore.
Not even that. If Pyromancer just didn't attack his own chat and viewers over nothing, he'd be eating good. He can rage at the game all he wants. But he directs that anger at his viewers constantly. Just dont do that.
I subbed to Pyro's youtube channel a while back when he was starting up MSQ becuase I thought he would make interesting FFXIV content but unsubbed after a few months when he didn't post any substantial content. Irony now is that he is actually creating interesting content, he's just the subject of it lmao
I was intrigued by his enthusiasm towards the lore. But relatively early i saw him ban someone for a small comment. The comment wasnt even in bad faith or spoiling or being really sassy. It was minor. I noped out relatively fast. From then on i watched all his apologies and all this drama from the sidelines. Easily one of my best decisions lmao
Yea he kind of reminds me of another streamer i used to watch, all "posivibes" and bs. But he would freak out over anything, seemed fake as hell and so does pyro.
I've subbed to Pyro a few times. I've defended Pyro. Felt bad for Pyro. I was even subbed to him when he tweeted all that bullshit and shrugged it off as Pyro misspeaking out of anger again. It wasn't the outbursts themselves that did it. No, I'm used to those at this point and so is the rest of his community. It's just something you roll your eyes at with him and move on. This time it was how he attacked other streamers and his "apology/explanation" videos. I was in the middle of learning about all this drama going on when I saw he was live streaming. I was curious if he'd be able to bounce back and cover the new lore/content with the patch dropping because lore is what I watch him for usually, or if he'd be covering the drama going on. so I swapped over to see him crying while watching a video about ADHD and how people just don't understand your condition... Bro. Just stop streaming. I unfollowed him that instant. I've never felt so guilt-tripped into supporting someone before. It felt absolutely disgusting. This coming from someone who spent 7 years supporting dead beat boyfriends because their "situation wasn't their fault". I'm done feeling like I owe people shit to be worth their time.
For real. I spent thousands helping one of my exes while he was studying. You know what he did then after a relationship of 10 years? He went off to Australia to work and got someone else pregnant. The whole time he was there he was sending me flowers and stuff. I felt like such a mug. Eventually. Because at the time I was so fucked up in the head that I blamed myself for it happening.
@@fionamb83 Thats fucking awful. To some degree accepting blame is both a coping mechanism and a pragmatic option. When something is our fault that's the most empowering position because there's something we can do about it. Sadly being taken advantage off is so awful, so truly awful. The thing you were being taken advantage of for would have been a massive gift so many people would have seen as a sign of your true love for them. But humans are greedy terrible creatures. What's the lesson here? To not trust? To not share? To not take care of the people you love? That's the tragedy I see in what happened to you. The only truth is that he was a bad person. If you try to correct for the parts that were "your fault"(because being lied too isn't your fault) you only end up losing the wonderful things that someone should have appreciated instead only because someone lied to you.
Pyro seems desperate and backed into the corner, acting like a scared cat trying to claw his way out. He pissed me off when he claims he’s using “having autism” as an excuse. I AM autistic, and I don’t use it as an excuse when I’m seeking attention and forgiveness. And using FFXIV as a scapegoat is extremely petty.
Oh Pyro doesn't claim to have autism. He claims to have ADHD. Without even a basic understanding of what ADHD is. He's just an unlikeable asshole who cannot help but back himself in the corner so he can play the victim.
What's always funny to me is the people who constantly mention how they watched his lore videos and how they were excited for that kind of content for FFXIV. Hell he even took notes on the lore as he played through the MSQ, taking sometimes a half hour or more just jotting down notes in his booklet... what has he done for lore content? He does react content, he watches the MSQ and he takes notes and he screams at his audience for every little thing and since picking up FFXIV he's done 2 'lore videos' both based on the Twelve Raid. He's not even performing his main selling point, the guy went from a giant lore and speculation nerd for WoW to a purely mid-tier reaction channel gawking at the MSQ. Is it any wonder no one cares about his content anymore?
also hes like the 123671264th channel to stall ffxiv msq for content. like cool ppl love watching that shit but cmon man if youre stalling for months or years nobody will care anymore, and lets be real watching someone play thorugh shadowbringers or stormblood for the millionth time isnt as interesesting as it was when wow exodus happened.
Same experience for me. I was watching him at start due to the implication that hed be making lore stuff, but since he didn't I stopped actively checking for his streams. Then the rants happened and I just unfollowed.
He’s also straight up terrible at lore. He has like 3 notebooks full of notes from the MSQ yet he manages to get details wrong all the time and he flips out on chat when they correct him. I personally watched him because he had ‘high energy’ reactions to msq and that’s what I wanted. But I’d never watch him for lore lmao.
It actually inspires me when Xeems and Zepla talk about how they struggled back in the day. Me as a microscopic streamer rn, is actually going through what they just said and that makes me wanna try harder seeing where they are now hahaha
Pyromancer has gone hollow, he used to be someone I watched for his wow lore theories. But he has dug himself into this ditch and has no one to blame but himself.
he only had a following in WoW because the lore delivery was trash, he cant ride the same easy train in FF14 because the lore delivery is actually competent
Even back there he had some pretty crazy rants whenever people disagreed with his lore takes. Ironic because I used to follow him for the batshit wild takes on lore that'd technically be possible but were build on multiple layers of wild speculation.
Pyro's stream today was titled "No Drama" so I peeked in out of curiosity and the first thing I heard was drama about him refusing to stop using someone's emote when they requested him to.
@@Zanbatoss And honestly, who is gonna watch his stream if its not for drama purposes? It wouldn't surprise me if Pyro figures this out at some point and intentionally pours fuel on the drama fires. He's losing his credibility as a streamer, which is crazy because streamers whole schtick is to be eccentric and personable. But this guy is just toxic, he's not fun to watch for his personality and he shit all over FF 14 so now nobody gonna give a shit about his "Lore vids". Where does that leave him? We think hes gonna go work at a 9-5 now? Doubt it, I see more of DSP or Wings of redemption style career for him going forward.
To answer Xeno's queestion on how someone who used to watch Pyro feels about seeing that: it's not surprising he's been far gone for a good while now. I used to like his lore videos back in bfa and when he decided to go over to FFXIV I saw it as a good opportunity and that maybe we'll be getting those kinds of lore videos in a new game. Then he went on to do msq streams like everyone else and pretty much did nothing lore-wise (despite constantly taking notes lmao). Then.... DRAMA. We got into the pyro drama arc and we never left. I honestly see him as a clown and love everyone pointing their fingers at this self-righteous would-be community guru. It's like he sees streamers like some sort of gods and believes that he has also attained godhood therefore he deserves respect.
I followed him initially because the idea of having a lore buff outside of Ethys was enticing, but it's surreal to see the end result being a series of drama-fests.
I was a high level WoW raider. Never raided with Pyro, but the top 100/top 50 world scene in NA is already extremely small, so I raided with plenty of people adjacent to him. He was a really good player. Warlock main, but he had an insane temper and he tilted really, really fucking hard. He was your typical ego caster DPS. Good, consistent, but awful to be around. There was a reason why he bounced around from guild to guild. I think he transitioned to lore videos in BFA after ghuun? It was probably getting increasingly harder for him to find teams willing to take him in. The point I'm trying to make is that he's *always* been like this. The difference now is that he has a constant spotlight because he cant stop broadcasting himself, and FFXIV streamers are (rightfully) farming him for views when he's constantly conniving and doing two faced things on the down low.
I use to like his lore videos and I watched some of his story streams but honestly there were times you can tell he had a huge ego. Zepla mentioned he ran ads during crucial parts of the story and I remember he literally admit doing it on purpose and said if you wanted to see it uninterrupted you should sub (Believe it was the cutscene right before the first EW trial). Stream went on a standstill because then he started arguing with people that didnt agree/banning people that kept bringing it up like a child. There have been other random small events in streams that all just make sense now, but hey my opinion wont matter to him I only subbed once to him :P
@@I_am_Kaz damn, I started wow for the first time in BfA so his videos were great for getting me into the game's world but I had no idea who he was before that. I think something that plays into him getting blasted a lot right now is that being a "rage-gamer" is a lot more accepted in WoW because there's things like PvP where it's a lot more normal to get angry and it can even make good content, but FFXIV's whole vibe is way more chill in general so it really stands out.
"How did this make you feel?" like I made the right decision when I unfollowed him during the last drama. I started following his content because I thought he'd finally get into the lore but actually he just writes notes in a book all stream and is so focused on stroking his ego with guessing the lore and scribbling notes that he literally loses track of facts unfolding right in under his nose.
Actually you know what. Pyro streams having 8 ads might actually work because you'll finish watching the 8th ad and the stream comes back to show you that he's still taking notes on the same line of text and is just about to move on to the next speech bubble.
I don't understand why Pyro doesn't double down on UA-cam videos. When he was going through the story with his little notepad I was excited to see what he would come up with and the lore deepdives we would get. None of that has happened when I felt like that was the most obvious thing to do.
Because there is nothing to cover that isn't already covered. There are lore dumps channels and such, people just don't care. He saw they existed and had no views, chickened out, and didn't try to do it.
@@SigmaTheWhiteFlame It was, but if he made any videos worth a damn it would have been worthwhile. Instead he did an off brand stall. Which I guess was better than Rich Campbell the sexual assaulter who would just talk about nothing constantly. Thank god a lot of new MSQ streamers don't stall like the WoW Exodus days.
I vaguely recall Pyro saying his stream money paid for his wedding and house. Now now a new car too? Tin foil hat time, but I wonder if he took out loans thinking the money would keep rolling in at a steady pace, but now that it's not, he's freaking out over his new debts.
Where were his parents? I don't blame the people that gave the loan if true because they are happy to take everything you got... but my parents would go BALLISTIC if they even felt that idea enter my consciousness. I would be GRINDED INTO DUST by them. That is such a poor financial decision it hurts...!?!?!?
i looked at his stream today and he has a sub goal going for rent. does anyone know is he renting out a studio space or something in addition to owning a house?
@@ColeEvyx cuz he's an adult? Not sure about his family situation, I think part of his "woe is me" routine is saying he came from a broken house, but even so, he's an adult, he can make whatever poor financial decisions he like. Plus, unless you have really tech-savvy parents, if you tell them "Yeah, I'm a streamer, I get a lot of money and that won't stop anytime soon.", it's very unlikely they'd know better or inform themselves. And again, even if they did... he's an adult, it's his mistake to make and you see how well he reacts to advice/criticism, so how well do you think that'd go over with him?
@@ColeEvyx he doesn't have a house. he's renting it. also his dad was a meth addict and his step dad used to beat and his brothers so guess his mom divorced him. guess he only has his mom now. the main problem with money he has is that his wife almost died from a miscarriage when he found her bleeding on the floor right after they got married. i remember they were in the process of setting up health care properly but miscarriage happened before so the cost has been ridiculous.
@@hshk6789wow that's horrible, but in that case he should look into getting a real job again on the side just for reliable income to support his family
What Pyro doesn’t understand is that people who happen upon his stream might actually sub if they like what they are watching. But if all they see are annoying ads and miss out on content, they will move on to other channels.
The funniest thing to me, regarding Pyro putting ads at important moments in the story to try and make people sub, is the fact that his giant meltdown about WoW was (at least partially) rooted in Blizzard taking parts of the lore of WoW, putting it in a book and then selling it as a novel instead of putting it in the game.
Pretty sure saying the ff14 community loves drama is just in bad taste imo. I don’t know a single community of gaming or on the internet that doesn’t milk drama.
When Pyro showed up it was great watching him go through the story, and people kept saying he made great warcraft lore videos and he kept taking notes throughout msq but none of that content really... Materialized?
More viewers -> more people chatting -> more interaction -> less people leave -> more people are likely to sub or give bits -> Streamer benefits More viewers -> Twitch puts you higher in that category -> more interaction ^
Actually I feel bad for him, he needs to just get offline. Like I really hope he just... logs off. Ugh. I feel so much empathy and pain for him. I want him to succeed. I'm struggling as I learn and hear more. He needs to stop and not do this!!! This is so self destructive.
@@pedromoreira6218 Which makes me so mad because Brian and me literally talk to one another via text. He's actually an amazing person. So Pyro throwing this at him makes me VICIOUSLY angry... I want Pyro to be at peace and learn coping skills. But why TF go after Brian who has so many kids and a full time software dev job and makes content and largely is doing it for the community. Like it makes me so upset... I'm so conflicted. WHICH IS PROBABLY WHY THIS DRAMA IS TAKING OFF LIKE A ROCKET. This is a DISASTER X_X
@@ColeEvyx I'm not really sure where this rumor of a lawsuit is coming from, but as someone who's close to Pyro, I can say, no, we never even remotely discussed lawsuits as an option, ever, not once in the two years that I've been modding for him. Not for Brian, Xeems, or anyone. I can say that Pyro did issue a DMCA takedown on one of GingerPrime's videos, but this was well over a year ago, and only on the one video. To the best of my knowledge, he has not issued any DMCA takedowns since then. As for all this drama, I can say that Pyro is putting all this as far from his mind as possible and is focusing on being happier and putting out fun content for our viewers. Frankly speaking, this drama is only being kept alive because people keep reacting to it, more than a week after everything happened. Dude literally just had a couple bad takes on Twitter and this somehow warrants a new video about it each day, and it's honestly getting tiring.
@@DecimusGaming All I can say is that's what I heard in the video. I've never spoken with pyro but I absolutely just watched Ginger Prime's video from a few days ago and he said there was talk about being sue. Whether that is true or not I have no idea... Obviously I'm not involved directly, nor do I ever wish to be in any capacity... but that's just what I've watched. o.o;; I genuinely hope Pyro is taking the time and working on feeling good about himself and recovering. It's hard dealing /w bs even at the best of times-- that's only amplified further when having mental health issues (I know this all too well...). Defo hope he is able to recover, recoup, learn strategies to cope with the BS life slings and better than ever!
I come from WoW and have known about Pyromancer and his content for about 5ish years. I remember a few years back before he moved over to FFXIV, he had posted a video that was him literally begging for money from his audience while he put on a massive sob story; the level he takes being a content creator for granted and only wants money has always been there. Dude needs to get a 9-5 at retail and then pretend like he wasn't given a golden ticket to life.
He did get a 9-5 at retail. I remember that video years back of him begging for money, it was right before he announced that he was switching to youtube and streaming as a hobby only because he wasn't making enough to survive. The moment his stream blew up for ff14 msq, he quit his job. I remember when he announced it there were some people that tried to warn him that was a bad idea, but he just went on a big rant about how he hated his job and streaming full time was his dream. He paid off his debt with his first month's sub money which was good, but then he bought a car, got engaged and started planning a big fancy wedding, and bought a house. Before the house, I stopped watching because I knew he wouldn't listen to warnings and couldn't bear to watch the obviously incoming crash and burn when the sub bubble burst. He never should've quit his job.
@@normalmighty He absolutely should've quit his job. He fucking hit the jackpot with his FFXIV numbers. What he shouldn't have done was literally everything else, live within his means and actually made lore videos and had fun with his chat. He'd be coasting for years despite his numbers going down (and they wouldn't have gone down as much if he was actually a personable person who wasn't full of himself.)
@@normalmighty Yeah but retail jobs are basically the type you can always get. SO he can always just get another one. Then again if this guy can't control himself, he prob gets fired a lot as well for popping off to co-workers and bosses about little petty shit that happens and he feels slighted about it .
I'm usually not one for drama that much; I'll watch some clips, point & laugh and that's about it. This, however, is pure gold! It should probably end soon-ish, but I kinda want it to keep going... I still have popcorn ready!
It's true, I don't give a fuck about streamers as far as I'm concerned they're all just monkeys there to entertain me and when they don't anymore I move on.
Pyro's ego was a problem through the entirety of his msq playthrough. I was there for his 2nd msq stream onward and his entire 2.0 playthrough was him yelling at different people in chat and getting stunlocked for 45 minutes at a time. First time I took a break from his streams was when he was in heavensward and started talking about auctioning off his "lore notebooks" (the notebooks that he would basically just copy down msq dialogue that he thought was important) and when someone in chat said that they didnt think anyone would pay for them he got super defensive and aggro about it. it was so cringe i stopped watching him until he was late in stormblood. It seemed like he was doing better at the point but then he started doing the ivalice raids, where he decided to just skip through all the dialogue, for someone who claimed to care about the story and wanted to refer to himself as a "lore master" this was weird as hell to me. On top of that there was the ridorana lighthouse meltdown, where he got so mad that he kept dying to mechanics that he refused raises and left the room for the rest of the fight, only to come back and call people in chat the R slur just for typing "kekw" when he would die. I decided to come back again when he was in shb patches to see how he was doing, but finally noped out for the last time when he boosted dark knight and white mage. I'm not against people boosting alt jobs but again, someone who claimed to care so much about knowing the lore skipping through job quests rubbed me the wrong way and i never looked back. The fact that its been almost like?? over a year since he skipped those jobs and he still had the dark knight quest locked behind a sub goal is absolutely hilarious. Anyway sorry for the essay, just figured i would give context to some of the stuff that went on during his msq playthroughs for anyone who wasnt there
@@bambooex Yeah I dropped in on her a few times and she always mentions her anxiety and social issues and gets stun locked by chat. At least she doesn't claim to be anything special, but there's a reason she had a dropoff. Also I'm spoiled, I need people who are pretty on the ball in order to enjoy them. She gets lost and confused over pretty simple concepts.
Pyro knows better than to go after Zepla. She is the wholesome heart of the community, even when she is on break and streaming other games. He's on a career death spiral. Going after her is just going the Quintis route
@merelyanillusion I don't think it was exclusively FF14V players that had a problem with Hogwarts Legacy. Atomic Hearts is an international team of developers who, as I heard, denounced the war Russia is waging. People can have different opinions and disagree and not be enemies. We need to relearn this.
@@zombiesxaliens people don't like her because she declared herself the final word on who is allowed to say they've suffered because she left ukraine using her american passport
29:00 It's actually an impressive chris-chan impression unironically possible unintentionally. I'd encourage going that route if it wasn't for how his online career ended.
I didn't watch Pyro's live streams or VODs until FFXIV so I didn't really witness his non-scripted persona until then. I effectively played through FFXIV with him; I'd level and watch his stream, stop playing and wait until he catches up/stop watching him until I caught up - eventually realized that was a dumb way of playing so I'd get to the expansion cap and f**k around doing stuff until he caught up. And I brushed off his attitude as one offs or "he's got thousands of people pushing his buttons it's understandable that he grumps here and there". And then it kept happening and I just gave up religiously watching him. I remember once, he saw an AST weapon - I think it was one of the Bozja ones, Solstice? It's, like, 3 rings overlapping with a blue sphere in the center; and he saw it and was having a lore moment pondering if the blue thing was the planet, but he was saying Eorzea. and the chat-collective wasn't correctly communicating the issue to him (That he's thinking of Hydaelyn as the planet (this was prior to us learning the name of the planet is Etheirys iirc), and Eorzea is the continent). And the situation just dissolved and turned sour really quickly. Honestly, I'm glad I never game him any of my money. Not that he doesn't deserve it for the viewable content he gave me. Just, to me, it fees like he was making BANK and was just so reckless with his money. He was able to pay off his wedding completely, and there was absolutely no way they could have known Ariel's medical incident would occur - but they are renting. Surely it would be a smart idea to save towards a permanent form of accommodation rather than pay for a wedding, you don't need to spend tens of thousands of dollars to cement you're love for someone - get together the money for a house/apartment, have a small cheap ceremony if you need to be married for insurance/house reasons, then have a big faux-wedding later once your settled. Just feels like he's continuing to be reckless with his income while they have this insane medical bill to pay off while also renting. He knew that his numbers would cave once MSQ finished, he could have set up merch, worked on UA-cam videos, ANYTHING to supplement the stream revenue. And now he's fucking around with his viewership, and still claiming that he's making more than he did in his previous job - let's see how far that goes before he realizes he needs to get his act together and put together the non-existent pieces of the broken mess of a brand he destroyed. I hope Ariel is doing ok.
You are too kind to him. As scary as it sounds, I'm glad that they don't have kids yet and that that ectopic pregnancy did happen. I worked in a private kindergarten and saw parents (wealthy and poor) who justified their behavior with depression, ADHD, hyperactivity, and so on. I remember one boy shitting in his pants every time his mother raised her voice on the phone or suddenly started dancing and laughing maniacally.. I don't care about Pyro, I don't care about his wife who chose to live with such a man. I'm sorry and I'm scared for a child who will listen and see a father stoned with weed, who cannot control himself. (if you are reading this, sorry, english is my 4th language and I make mistakes)
I remember him attacking Zepla for playing that evil wizard game. Good thing she didn't gave in and did what she wanted to do. Pyro on the other hand tried to get some good boy points and came of as a total bully. If Zepla wanted she could have ripped him a new one after that but he is lucky she is still nice about it.
10:25 Zepla becoming the real Athena Savage... holy shit lol Still, damn he really could've just done lore, been some lore buff, and would've boomed again come 7.0 sucks because he was so in love with the change from WoW to XIV and it felt great to see, oh well
from day 1 I could sense this fake sense of "positive vibes guys, it's all love and we love everyone and the community, this is the best game ever" like ... the whole thing is so fake that it's kind of sickening, I have probably watched 50 different people going through MSQ, but just could not stand Pyro
xenosys be farmin for all the gainz. LOL although I have to give pyro at least some credit cause there's some wrong information in this & zepla's video. he doesn't have a house. he's renting it. the main problem with money he has is that his wife almost died from miscarriage when he found her bleeding on the floor, few days after they got married. i remember they were in the process of setting up health care properly but miscarriage happened before so the cost has been ridiculous. some comments also asked where are his parents. his dad was a meth addict and his step dad used to beat and his brothers so i think his mom divorced him. guess he only has his mom now.
ngl this whole fiasco and watchign ur and other streamers thoguhts has given me so so much insight on streaming .. actually perfect timing when im trying to start up lolol
The last time I watched pyromancer was on his last 6.0 msq stream. He made a promise not to do intentional ad breaks during the stream. He then, when pressed about what he meant by that, told the stream he actively puts as many ads as he can during the highest interest moments to increase his sub count. He talked about how smart he was, purposefully destroying his audiences experience to hopefully get them to sub. It's not twitch screwing him with ads. It's all intentional. He has always been only after the money.
I found and followed pyro when he started msq. I enjoyed him, but I'm also very casual and found his long pauses in his streams boring. After ew I expected to see lore videos or something from him, but I haven't, and with all the drama I just don't see any content for me to watch from him. I sympathize with him, and wish he wasn't so self destructive. It's painful to watch. Initially i enjoyed his attemps at progressive critiques, but he says stuff in such clumsy ways, or straight up puts way too much emphases on something (chair) without ever actually having a nuanced conversation about it. Just a trainwreck. I empathize for the person as I said, but damn he really puts me off supporting him. :(
i was a huge pyro fan back when i watched his WoW lore youtube video's but he has always been a hot head when he streamed even back then he isn't a good streamer he is a good lore enthusiast!
I'd be extremely grateful If I was a streamer that even had 100 viewers regardless if they gave me money or not. Maybe I'm actually lucky though, and something like streaming would also turn me into an egotistical asshole that shamed people for not giving me money. People don't owe you money because you decide to stream, you owe those people for giving you any success if anything. I really enjoyed his old lore videos and actually liked some of his early ffxiv videos. I recommend he just do youtube videos and nothing live so he can at least go over what he said in editing before posting it.
"he ran ads during important cutscenes to motivate people to sub to make an experience so horrible that people pay to stop it" the apple don't fall far from the tree, mf straight up learning from blizzard
I just wanted to see someone enjoy and experience the MSQ for the first time, hear their thoughts, etc. But I was constantly put off by this attitude of his that did shine through even early on. It was about making mad money as quickly as possible.
Zepla's looking cute af with that blonde hair, I haven't watched her stream in ages lol. Anyways, it's funny how Xeno's just like "fuck it, you asked for it" and is watching everyone shit on Pyro. At this point, I no longer feel bad for Pyro at all
I’ve been playing 14 since 2016 and I am just now finding out about your content. I feel like I’ve missed out on the gem that was perfectly created just for me. You rock
I remember when I said in the unsub message that I was unsubbing because twitch was making it really hard to watch your stream. I still feel a bit bad because I like supporting a streamer I enjoy watching but if I literally cannot watch the stream I sub for then I'm basically not getting a service I pay for, kinda. I don't know if Twitch changed it so that having a sub hard locks not getting ads but like, I remembered getting ads on channels that I subbed to on twitch and it was infuriating. It's perfectly fine for a consumer to make a choice with their money where they will put it especially if said service is basically doing everything it can to lose their money. Also since I'm no longer really watching twitch at all, the money not given to them is completely justified at this point.
As someone who used to follow pyro in wow. All I ever cared about was his lore speculation and stuff around that. When he isn’t doing that doesn’t exist to me and now he’s just cringe and needs a nap.
The greatest gift you can give someone is your time, because that is the one thing you will never get back. I was subbed to Pyro during his MSQ since I loved his reactions, his passion and theory crafting and also how much attention he actually paid to small details. But I had to watch mostly his VoDs and with chat turned off because I couldn't handle his actual interactions with chat. His mods are on another level with parasocial relationship, banning and timing out people left right and center for anything that goes against what Pyro says. The level of cringe was just too high for me at some point and I cancelled sub.
Since you were asking about Pyro viewers, I wouldn't call myself one, but I did briefly follow him when he came to FF 14. I unfollowed the moment when I heard him disparage his viewers. F that guy. I'm with Xeno, that guy is never gonna change and he is milking those viewers for short term gain. He doesn't have that long of life left on streaming, I believe.
Pyro also gotta understand this is also what happens you play just 1 game. I enjoy streamers/VODs you have a "main game" but are playing other things as well.
The fact that pyros comments section is disabled should be enough of a red flag for anyone on its own without hearing any of this drama he initiated. The guy is digging himself into such a deep hole hes literally entered chinese territory censoring his own comments section
I still believe that his WoW lore videos stem from him wanting to aggressively argue away plotholes that people brought up on Twitter or Reddit. Thinking about it that way puts his entire career into context that's perfectly in line with his personality.
Throws a tantrum that gets him support from WoW haters. Moves to FFXIV and gets support from FFXIV lovers. Reacts to MSQ like literally everyone else. (For some reason people like seeing this) Doesn’t make any interesting content. Looses viewers after the MSQ. Throws some more tantrums. People finally realize that he’s still the same man-child who left WoW and that maybe you shouldn’t be so happy about WoW players coming into FFXIV’s community, because many of them are super toxic. Lesson: It’s not always a good thing for your favorite mmo to have the largest player base. More players = higher population of toxic players. It happened with WoW, and now it’s happening with FFXIV.
Pyro went from 88k followers in March 2022 to 69k now. The subs cant look too much better. Edit: hot damn he it's worse than I thought, Dec 2021-Apr 2022 he was 4-7k then just 1.3k for months. But now not even 500.
I've been following Pyro for some time. I'm mostly interested in his lore, but after he was done with endwalker, he had a streamer identity crisis. He didn't know what to do after he was done. Got into a lot of stuff. Played ff14 too much imo. He's now played other games, so I haven't watched him because of that. And recently I feel he's been "saving" his lore content. I dunno, mixing in his take on viewers isn't a good taste for me. I guess I will see his reactions on YT some day maby.
Honestly I'd just move on to another because there are a ton of streamers out there, and I got no time to watch ads. JUst get a way for people to donate money while still blocking the ads. So we can still support but avoid the annoyance of ads which aren't even entertaining to watch these days.
Xeno is out here farming like it's Stardew Valley and you know what, i'm here for it.
to be fair pyro shoot himself in the knee and xeno stand beside him and laughs. And I just like it when the bald man is laughing.
Xeno out here Harvesting timed nodes on patch day
But the difference is, the patches keep droppin...
Maybe Xeno will go the romance route with Pyro next? 😮
I KNOW why couldn't he just make lore videos. There's Synodic Scribe still but he can't do it all qq
I know... I was actually very excited when he finished MSQ for all the lore vids
There is a good UA-camr who does lore videos called Stout Helm too, and with way less controversy than Pyro ever would.

Easily one of my best decisions lmao
yeah same
Yea he kind of reminds me of another streamer i used to watch, all "posivibes" and bs. But he would freak out over anything, seemed fake as hell and so does pyro.
This is literally going to be a netflix series

Same here man, I'm on the spectrum as well. But damn, I don't act like this piece of shit >>
Exactly. That kind of behavior and excuse-making is extremely unfair to people with autism because it's essentially saying that autism=bad behavior.
THIS. How is this mf gonna be so rude about notetaking during stream and then not do anything with them lol
also hes like the 123671264th channel to stall ffxiv msq for content. like cool ppl love watching that shit but cmon man if youre stalling for months or years nobody will care anymore, and lets be real watching someone play thorugh shadowbringers or stormblood for the millionth time isnt as interesesting as it was when wow exodus happened.
Wow's story has so many loop holes he had content for days. Ff14 is a bit more ordered and doesn't need quite as much explaining.
Zepla really goes off when she wants to but with really solid truth behind the words, it's so funny

i would like to point out that pyromancer messaging mr xeems has caused what is sort of a form of the "Streisand effect."
IIRC Pyro got clowned on by the WoW community for basically copy-pasting all of his lore theories from wikis and general forums lol
He never got out of the toxicity that is wow mindset
Even back there he had some pretty crazy rants whenever people disagreed with his lore takes. Ironic because I used to follow him for the batshit wild takes on lore that'd technically be possible but were build on multiple layers of wild speculation.
@@Vampireinarm1 Pretty much. Nothing in 14 needs to be explained if you've played the game
Pyro's stream today was titled "No Drama" so I peeked in out of curiosity and the first thing I heard was drama about him refusing to stop using someone's emote when they requested him to.
What did you expect 😂. At this point the majority of people in his stream are probably trolls who try to trigger more drama from him
@@Zanbatoss And honestly, who is gonna watch his stream if its not for drama purposes? It wouldn't surprise me if Pyro figures this out at some point and intentionally pours fuel on the drama fires. He's losing his credibility as a streamer, which is crazy because streamers whole schtick is to be eccentric and personable. But this guy is just toxic, he's not fun to watch for his personality and he shit all over FF 14 so now nobody gonna give a shit about his "Lore vids".
Where does that leave him? We think hes gonna go work at a 9-5 now? Doubt it, I see more of DSP or Wings of redemption style career for him going forward.
People need to learn that Subs are gifts from the viewers to the streamer. It is a thank you from the viewer for the streamer.
I never understood the whole "note taking" bit that he was dying like...
You're reaaaaally doubling down on this loremaster bit aren't you?
If this was Island Sanctuary strummer would already be Rank 16 with how much farming he's been doing
Every google search is sayin she is 42. So can probably confirm that she is probably a vampire that gets sustenance from sunshine and giggle/cackles.
I don't understand why Pyro doesn't double down on UA-cam videos. When he was going through the story with his little notepad I was excited to see what he would come up with and the lore deepdives we would get. None of that has happened when I felt like that was the most obvious thing to do.
that notepad was obnoxious tbh
What Pyro doesn’t understand is that people who happen upon his stream might actually sub if they like what they are watching. But if all they see are annoying ads and miss out on content, they will move on to other channels.
As a former mod from his WOW lore days, can confirm none of this is new
The funniest thing to me, regarding Pyro putting ads at important moments in the story to try and make people sub, is the fact that his giant meltdown about WoW was (at least partially) rooted in Blizzard taking parts of the lore of WoW, putting it in a book and then selling it as a novel instead of putting it in the game.
Xeno's react game has improved so much. He's going places.

Holy shit! I had to google it, Zepla IS 42! I would have guessed late 20s early 30s

“Cause if ur not subbed, you’re watching an add!”

Well damn. He was right
I didn't watch Pyro's live streams or VODs until FFXIV so I didn't really witness his non-scripted persona until then.
He's not gonna fuck with Zepla since his fake irl issues dont compare to her real irl issues that she doesnt throw into people's faces.
10:25 Zepla becoming the real Athena Savage... holy shit lol Still, damn he really could've just done lore, been some lore buff, and would've boomed again come 7.0 sucks because he was so in love with the change from WoW to XIV and it felt great to see, oh well
from day 1 I could sense this fake sense of "positive vibes guys, it's all love and we love everyone and the community, this is the best game ever"
like ... the whole thing is so fake that it's kind of sickening, I have probably watched 50 different people going through MSQ, but just could not stand Pyro
xenosys be farmin for all the gainz.
FREE CONTENT! And 100% justifiable. As long as pyro keeps releasing absolute bangers, why the hell not!
ngl this whole fiasco and watchign ur and other streamers thoguhts has given me so so much insight on streaming .. actually perfect timing when im trying to start up lolol
Xeno standing beside on the shore watching a ship slowly sink drinking some OJ with some crackers .
Bro the timing to have an ad immediately after saying "if you're not subbed, you're watching an ad" is insane
I haven't even played FFXIV past the character creation and here I am watching you vs Pyromancer content 😂
I wish Zeno would add an anime-vein to his beard in the thumbnail to really emphasize his distaste 😂
"he ran ads during important cutscenes to motivate people to sub to make an experience so horrible that people pay to stop it"
the apple don't fall far from the tree, mf straight up learning from blizzard
I cant remember last time I've seen an ad anywhere. So many free adblocks out there
Xenos I can't believe you ended the stream on NatsuDragonSlayer and didn't kiss the homies goodnight >:(
I just wanted to see someone enjoy and experience the MSQ for the first time, hear their thoughts, etc. But I was constantly put off by this attitude of his that did shine through even early on. It was about making mad money as quickly as possible.
I genuinely laughed so hard at 7:08 when Xeno started cracking jokes about his chat LMAO
I lost at tit head like an elementary school student
Every time i see an ad on your channel, i dip and come back a few mins later and poof, no more ads
yes, Zepla really is 42, hell, she was a Dev on the friggin Sims! THE SIMS!! Not Sims 2 or 3 or 4, no, we are talking OG Sims.
What?
Zepla's looking cute af with that blonde hair, I haven't watched her stream in ages lol. Anyways, it's funny how Xeno's just like "fuck it, you asked for it" and is watching everyone shit on Pyro. At this point, I no longer feel bad for Pyro at all
I’ve been playing 14 since 2016 and I am just now finding out about your content. I feel like I’ve missed out on the gem that was perfectly created just for me. You rock
just get a better adblock guys.
Everyday are days that end in Y. So does Pyro's drama.
Bruh how tf is this stuff still going on 💀
Strummer is going for reclears on this drama
Pyro making Xeno so much money, while Pyro is bleeding from his savings account lmao
Make hay while the sun shines, but don't blow up the sun for not shining Pyro.
Man I miss Ethysis the OG lore dude for XIV
I still remember my brief period of copium, sure that pyro was going to fill the gap left by Ethys. I miss that guy.
I don't even get the Zepla 42 meme, her entire brand bleeds 00s kid
Since you were asking about Pyro viewers, I wouldn't call myself one, but I did briefly follow him when he came to FF 14. I unfollowed the moment when I heard him disparage his viewers. F that guy. I'm with Xeno, that guy is never gonna change and he is milking those viewers for short term gain. He doesn't have that long of life left on streaming, I believe.
I will watch every single Pyro drama clickbait video. Gotta farm the clown while you can.
I unfollowed him after I seen the tweet. I felt like I wasted my time and I wasn't part of a community.
The only reason I watch Pyro is for the outbusts because it's good content, but after a while it's just exhausting so I have not watched in a while.
Yeah, it gets tiring.
Dude there is so many streamer that get like 0 viewer just get 3 - 5 viewer just talking with them make them so grateful.
Farmer should be the next gathering class. Give ‘em a class-specific beard and strummer will main it
Pyro also gotta understand this is also what happens you play just 1 game.
I had no idea who pyro was before this drama
At least we get more Xeno content lol
I still believe that his WoW lore videos stem from him wanting to aggressively argue away plotholes that people brought up on Twitter or Reddit. Thinking about it that way puts his entire career into context that's perfectly in line with his personality.
Dang just learned from this video that Zepla is 42. She looks so young wth.
Make up and wigs efficiently used can bamboozle the men.
@@HookahOtaku Wow, you can find incels even there.
Throws a tantrum that gets him support from WoW haters.
Moves to FFXIV and gets support from FFXIV lovers.
Reacts to MSQ like literally everyone else. (For some reason people like seeing this)
Doesn’t make any interesting content.
Pyro does not represent the totality of players coming from WoW.
Man there was a point there where I was watching a youtuber watching a youtuber who was watching a youtuber.
Holy crap. Zepla is my age. 😂 she looks way younger than I do. That’s for sure. Shheeeeshhhh
Pyro went from 88k followers in March 2022 to 69k now. The subs cant look too much better.
Edit: hot damn he it's worse than I thought, Dec 2021-Apr 2022 he was 4-7k then just 1.3k for months. But now not even 500.
of course he's not gonna be mad at the girl, she gets pretty points with the married incel guy
lmao. ppl think Zepla is 42 😂 because yes, if it's on the internet, it must be true
31:30 was the real eye opening moment of this vid for me. Truly wrapped up how I felt. Wank youuu strummer.
The burber phone 😂
I love this bald genius.
Honestly I'd just move on to another because there are a ton of streamers out there, and I got no time to watch ads. JUst get a way for people to donate money while still blocking the ads. So we can still support but avoid the annoyance of ads which aren't even entertaining to watch these days.
