I can’t believe I was using a nail hardener to grow out damaged nails. Thank you for the video. I found out the nail hardener I was using damaged my nails even more.
Hello, Anna, I want to thankyou for your videos. I started watching you with the tutorial about nails after acrylics and gels. I have never put acrylics or gels but I wanted to. After watching your video I knew this wasn't a good idea. I always had short bitten nails and never grew long. I watched your videos and bought Sally Hansen, Citra, Nail Tek and Nailtiques. I also used garlic, oil, cuticle oil, vinegar, salt and olive oil. Now, for the first time in my life I have long nails. That's possible thanks to you! I want to thankyou for making a miracle possible! I thankyou for all your work! I wish you the best! Maria Savu from Romania.
I’ve used Sally Hansen Triple Strong for years. They changed the formula about 10 years or so ago. It use to have more gel in it. I liked it much better before though it still works great. I use it as a base and top coat.
I've used the Sally Hansen Triple Strong for years! The formula in my opinion isn't as good as it was 10 plus years ago but it still works for me. It drys fast. You might have to restore it about half way through the bottle. Mine gets thick.
I use the Nutra Nail Bulletproof Stegnthener and I love it. I am about to start a hardener regimen and I am going to give Quimica Alemana a try. I got the Nutra Nail from Walmart and the Quimica Alemana from Amazon.

a week ago i bought OPI nail envy, nail strengthener. cant use it as basecoat (instructions say you can),even when i waited overnight to add color polish, it turns my regular polish to this jello like consistency. 6 HOURS after I'd applied regular polish I was eating warm chicken, my polish gelled up & I was able to rub the whole thing off as if I had gum on my nails. I've removed & reapplied 3 times.always the same result. Nail Tek strengthener did the same thing. now after watching your, video I will stick with my sally hansen :)
I have to agree with you on the opi nail envy account. I tried different types and they just peel off. I have to admit though that fact that I had to do a layer every second day ensured that I took better care of my nails when using it. I recently went back to my favourite system by pro strong. What I like about it is the fact that you can use it over your normal manicure. Combining fluoride formula and calcium supplement has helped my nails to look smother and less chipped. However being too
That was so educational. Thx! Now I know how to hydrate & strengthen & thicken and heck make them look pretty in the process too. Thx for sharing your learning/tips! Very well produced video too.
Thx! I enjoyed this video! I learn something new every day. I love painting my nails. They are getting stronger. How do you keep fungus out of nails or from growing under nails? Anyone???
I love sally hensen hardner. I use it first, then opi nail envy original (to use it up) then sally hensens opaque base coat. I did my nails on dec 14th and on dec 15th my bail bent. It appeared to be split. I removed the polish to mend an old break (because i didnt do a good job) lo and behold, the area that appeared to have broken from bending earlier in tbe day, was just a crack in the polish. Ive tried opi first and the results were not the same. Basically anything with formaldehyde never touch my nails first. I only use them as a 2nd layer. Sally hensen hard as nails is a hardner, but it doesnt contsin formaldehyde
I didn't care for the hard as nails hardener from Sally Hansen. It just peeled off and didn't care for any of Thiers really. Not hard as wraps or Teflon tough. Teflon tough you couldn't even get the cap off again ..it was like glue 😆. Not sure about the ones they have with vitamins in them. Don't care for the top coats...think it would take some of the polish off when you put it on. I like either Holo taco base and top coat or that seche vite wasn't to bad and some others from sallyd beauty supply wearnt to bad like the rock top coat. I've thought about doing a gel top coat where you cure it with an led light. My nails are short, weak, and peel but would love to grow them longer again. It's been to way to long since I've been able to grow them long.
I've purchase the Sally Hansen Pure hardener which is promoted as being 16-free. Without the toxins, what would you say the major differences/similarities would be?
@@JadenYukifan28 I don't like the nail magic products. The box said it had something in it that causes cancer and it made my nail beds hurt also and I had to take it back to Sally's beauty supply.

Debra Robertson I'd love to know the answer as well. I've used it for years. Then the name changed and I couldn't find the older one. I don't know if they changed the formula when the name changed but in my opinion the new one isn't as good as the older one. It still works well for me. I'd really love to have the other one!
Toby Redhead I was thinking the same thing! I used Duri Rev. For years and I loved it until I saw the pink color changed from dark to light I was like what happened? It seems they changed the ingredients. When I used the new one, i polished my nails with it it doesn't stay well and it looks like black hair string stuck on them
Can you layer multiple strengtheners (without any issues or weird bubbling)? I feel like my nails are pretty healthy buuuuut I like having the extra protection because I'm super clumbsy hahaa. I'm thinking of getting the Citra Hydration AND the Nurta Nail green tea for top coats etc. I have the Triple Strong however it seems kinda counter productive to use a hydration coat and then a formaldahyde coat on top (since they suck the moisture out of the nail anyway) lol gosh its like sci class!!
Really want a cruelty free formula. Sally Hansen has always tested on animals( as do many of these that are listed). This is a very informative video but I am really looking for a really effective but non-animal tested product.
Very informative Anna!! thank you for sharing and all the in-depth information. :) I'm so glad that you reiterate that people should use the product for a few months before deciding if it works for them or not. I will be reviewing the Nailtiques next. i was able to find it on clearance at Walgreens its the formula 1 that if found. Also I really love your design in this video. :)
Hello I have just started growing out my nails since beginning of January 2020 I am using Sally Hansen's Maximum Growth polish which works great for me .What my question for you is should I use a hardener or strengthener with the growth polish?
I loooove nail tek my mom got it for me when I was in high school and its the only polish that helped my nails grow and stop breaking....I stopped using it because back then the only people that sold it were nail techs...good to know its im stores now
I jus recently started using the triple strong and I absolutely love it. So its definitely better to switch to a strengthener after youve got realty hard nails? & when do I switch to a strengthener?? About 3 months?
you need a good strengthener that has moisturizing agents in it like tocopheryl acetate (which means vitamin E oil), or aloe vera ingredients. I will discuss this in my update nail journey video about strengtheners and hardeners. You can also take biotin or horsetail supplements those help. Stay away from pure acetone as it dries nails and causes them to peel more. And you can also use a good vitamin e oil that also helps with the peeling.
Hi, I noticed there are 3 different types of the Nail Tek hydration therapy, 1 for strong nails which I'm assuming is for already healthy nails, 2 for dry brittle nails and 3 a moisturizing top coat. Which do you recommend for someone starting out who has dry, brittle nails? As you have the one for strong nails in this video so im confused. Would appreciate your help, thank you!
Thanks I plan on sharing this video with my clients. It was very informative. I have access to Nail Tek so I plan on recommending. I have used some of their products but not on a regular basis. Thanks
@my nail life It looks like it runs about $7--$25 or so depending where you get it from...I did a Google search and than clicked on shopping. I'm gonna have to try this and that other strengthener that's more moisturizing too that she likes. My nails won't grow and they keep peeling and chipping or breaking and I want to get a crystal nail file also.
Hi again have you tried Rimmel? it is a base and top coat.....Also what are you thoughts about Nutra nails Strengthener with green tea.? I have tried the Nutra nail Strengther with green tea it really harden my natural nails and achieved the length desired, when the product was discontinued at my local pharmacy or where I use to buy them I had to turn to Rimmel base and top coat my nails broke completely and now i have to regrow them. Sadly enough.
How can I find out what kind of treatment my nails need? My nails don't flake or chip, sometimes I get tears really far down on the sides which is probably from bumping them. However, the reason my nails are still short is because they curl. My nails want to be claws. There is nothing anywhere on how to treat that!
I was wondering what the difference is between a gel fortifier like sally hansen triple strong and qtica nail stimulator? By the way i love your channel. Your so informative :)

An easy way to use garlic with olive oil is to purchase a small jar of minced garlic in olive oil. I'm going to get some soon.
