      Oh thank you man! I try to share tidbits everytime and it may seem in scattering the tidbits all around the videos so they all would watch? Kinda not intentional as engine projects vary and there are some that isn’t related
      While there are a few that becomes the perfect examples
      So it is as fun for me while I shoot the videos man :)

    Awesome video as usual! The cylinder walls looked slightly rough from the video. Would this not affect the build?

    • @SRDmotorsports
      @SRDmotorsports  2 роки тому +7

      Cylinder bore is actually decent, just looked kinda rough after we cleaned it so it was free of oil and such and Ofcourse had to quickly spray wd40 to prevent flash rust
      It always looks rough after having it cleaned (the old oil always makes it look “okay” )
      That’s what makes it hard purchasing used blocks cuz if u pull the head? It “looks” alright until… lol
      But yes IF honed? Nothing beats that ftw

      No not yet but that would be substantially good on the mid range and torque with a bit of top end

      0.04-0.05mm sir?

    • @SRDmotorsports
      @SRDmotorsports  10 місяців тому +1

      more than that, whatever the stock bore is as long as it’s perfectly round and honed that’s good
      I see a lot of nonesense locally where they run oversized rings and file it to fit not understanding the whole ring consistency to bore is no longer perfectly round…
      plus they also added % more added windage loss

    • @SRDmotorsports
      @SRDmotorsports  10 місяців тому +1

      Even Jaspers b20vtec on 1Up cuz it’s stock bore we made sure the bore is “true” and round and not oval, has 0.0025” piston to wall.. thats 0.06mm
      since 2018 it’s been running 12.5s and a street car, the full set up is on the video it’s shared
      I know some did the exact same set up and made 214whp only and 13.3sec 🤣

      What you mean crankshaft area? Can u identify a “time” marker so we can check?

      @SRDmotorsports  Рік тому +1

      @@hox2596 yeah 7:12 is old oil that’s cooked it’s not rust cuz it’s aluminum…
      That video might be too long and too hard to make cuz it’s too “generalized” to do so.. example if on. PR3 head the “bowl” oft times does not need to go too big = it’s already big
      So in general the throat is more important here
      But on a D16 the bowl may be a different story…then if we switch it to another brand like Toyota or Volvo (factor in displacement and piston speed) it goes a little bit different again

      Actually…as u mentioned it, we never ran a block guard on Hondas I mean the darton MiD sleeves have it built in so it’s fine
      But Honda’s floating system (not closed deck) has proven to be awesome so we don’t usually run a block guard (The 12.5s we did doesn’t use it)

I am also using a want win adjustable cam gear on a sohc engine but upon setting the cam on tdc using the stock cam gear and putting the want win they wont line up perfectly, to be perfectly tdc like the stock cam gear i need to retard the want win a few degree, is this normal?

      Yes first of all good Job man!
      I think want win has two kinds but unlabeled it could be y series (vti) or z series (p08)
      I say this because my want win seems “normal” for my esi engine on esi head which is set like a p08
      But a customer has it and it’s off by 4degrees and to find out? U use ur stock camgear and match the “kunya” to where stock is and that is your ZERO
