Thanks Peter for another great tutorial. When singing and playing, would you recommand sticking to a well defined and pretty much static chord progression and voicing vs improvising? Much like learning a classical piece of music?
Obviously you have a ton of talent and knowledge. My only thing is that when I play my original Christian songs, I don't like to flood out and dilute the melody or hooks too much. If I am in a minor chord, I don't like to constantly be resolving 2nds and 6ths all the time. It causes the song to lose its power.
Hey Peter, I noticed that you are using in-ear monitors. Do you use them during worship? Any practical tips and recommendations? Trying to get our team to use them and not sure where to start. Thanks in advance!
Hey Peter I purchased the Fluent Piano Course few years ago, worth every penny. I have questions regarding singing. I often find that if I play the inversion of a chord so the upper note matches the singing part of the moment, it kind of helps me to be me more precise and tune. What's your opinion about this "HINTS" approach? Does it still musical, or the singing clashes with the upper note of each chord? Thanks!
Hi Ori, I would say the fact that you're listening to how the piano and vocal interact is a very good start, so great job there. Whether or not it sounds musical is up to your judgment. Ideally, if you do it that way you want the reason to be because it sounds good to you. If you're using it as a crutch, it's not necessarily bad, but it would be limiting your expression. Hope that helps!
Great tips
This is great information! Thank you for putting this out there. It is definitely tricky to sing and play at the same time but I love these pointers.

Wow nice playing and singing
I think by variating chords and adding some little bits on it, a whole mood could change for sure.❤️

Great screen layout for video. What virtual keyboard did you use to overlay on the real keyboard take?
