The Q3 at $500 is well worth it. Greater than 4k resolution, slimmer, and keeping the 2 ports is a godsend. An actual improvement with zero downgrades. I am infinitely excited about this

@@bruhuhtherah Yes, an NSX is also technically a worse car than a Chiron, but that car is perfectly fine for $60k vs $3.5m for the Chiron. In everyday driving, the NSX is just as fast as the Chiron and the ride doesn't feel much different. The outside is also made of ABS plastic vs Carbon Fibre. Do you want to knock the headset for that too?

Honestly I'm just looking for a budget friendly way to play PC VR games so this looks amazing. The fact that some games can be stored natively and played wirelessly is more just an added bonus rather than a make-or-break type factor for me personally.

The HP reverb g2 goes on sale for $300 sometimes. It’s currently $450 right now, but I’m not sure how long the current price will last. Maybe the $300 price will return one day

Looks like if you take a dremel tool or drill to your Q2 headstrap in the right spots, it will probably let you get the access needed.
My first thought as well. I love my current Kiwi headstrap and would prefer to keep it.
@@Kecifely Kiwi lover here too. When I saw what was going on with the Meta Elite strap, my time working in a plastic extrusion factory told me what was wrong. They'd used a bad formula of plastic for the job, and the rigidity of the strap was enough to cause torsion forces to try to compress the bottom of the strap while trying to stretch the top of the strap. this twisting force is fixed on halo type straps by adjusting the center of gravity.
Kiwi? Added a hinge that fixed the ENTIRE problem :P

My tech guy at work just used epoxy & shrink wrap to repair broken elite straps . It did the job . We still have three repaired ones on loan headsets & no one has complained so far .

I really hope meta does something with their controllers. maybe Haptic feedback for the triggers, like playstation? and definitely some sort of protection over the cameras on the controllers if they do self tracking.

I might get the Quest 3 for it's smaller lighter design at the right price, but I was really hoping for eye tracking even if we didn't get full face tracking.
The depth sensor (if its still included) will be a nice upgrade to hand tracking

I am literally blown away anything VR related but never bought a VR headset before, I’m so hyped to get it when it comes out!!!!
For me a must is to have compatability with the quest 2 games. I refuse to go with the new quest if all the games I bought on quest 2 won't be functional with the quest 3. I love playing all of them and why would I pay twice to own them along with a new headset when i could just stay with my current one and enjoy them for free. I really hope meta become transparent with what there doing with there game situation and the compatability across the headsets. Great video man. Keep it up, u are the best vr UA-camr for me yet. ❤❤
Tbh all I want is a pair of really good looking screens, I have good headphones and don't care about being connected to a computer. I want meta to make a competitor to the pimax 8k headsets
Personally I think dropping eye tracking is a mistake. I like the added AR but eye tracking adds a lot of functionally and should really be considered a fundamental of AR/VR.
They wouldn't be able to release it at a price for consumers if they were to add eye tracking as its too expensive. They won't be adding it for consumer lower price headsets for any time soon.

Finally someone points out that all this extra power is going to be limited because of the drastic increase in resolution. Don't expect better graphics, just expect the same games at higher resolutions. This is still going to look like PS2 era games.
Devs can still render their games in lower resolutions, like they can do with quest 2.
250% GPU performance vs 30% resolution increase is still a net gain.

Just mark where the headphone jack port & charging cable port would be, and drill / cut down the plastic there until you get to the other side. Then file it down slightly to reduce abrasion, and voila! You just saved yourself 89$ on buying a new strap from Meta.
I have the quest 2 and I’ve only really used it with steam vr fir or flying so the hardware upgrade would be nice but I don’t think I’ll get it right away

As long as it tops the Quest Pro and includes the controllers (but I do hope they have good battery and non-proprietary charging option across the entire thing) I think 500 is good enough for the 512GB version. Higher? I don't think so. The Quest Pro if we're looking realistically at the performance bump, probably already has a similar performance or at least close to the Quest 3's capabilities (XR2+ on the Pro versus XR2 Gen2 on the Q3). The pancake lenses with dual screens made the Pro better than the Quest 2 mostly because it's no longer a single screen on that thick lenses arrangement, so those extra pixels will probably just improve the image quality a bit more from the Pro's current level.
Long story short, we are probably looking at a cheaper Quest Pro, with probably more caveats that out-balance some of the new stuff in the headset. I do have to say I'm not a fan of the ports being the hinge for the head straps. That's like combining two things that have points of failure into one big point of failure. I'm not hoping and not going to get hyped, but I'll at least save my money for one in case it turns out alright. The Pro is just too expensive IMO.

they probably will as your game library is linked to your account so if you just login to your meta account you'll still have them
Like what AbstractWhacky said, their linked to your account so yeah most likely. You are able to with the Quest 1, Quest 2, and the Quest Pro if you switch headsets with the same account

399.99 seems right for a upgraded headset ! granted were likely going to spend an additional 100.00 on the Dock. hopefully our kiwi or bobo headsets still work with this device.
I haven’t bought a VR headset since the quest 1. I skipped over th 2nd because I knew it wasn’t worth it since I still have a working 1 but however the quest 3 seems like the good upgrade finally for me to see the new VR market is.
I will most likely be purchasing the new Quest 3 when it launches. These new updates are worth it imo. That being said if my previous titles are backwards compatible that may change my mind.

500$ in US dollars is about ... +35% in canadian, +15% taxes... thats literally 50% more cash for canadians... so yeah it means it will be around 750$ here in canada... way too high a price when you consider that i bought my Quest 2 for 450$ when it was lower price.

I have an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset with the Kiwi head strap.
Every time I use it, after a few hours, I start to get a pressure headache.
I don't know why, because the strap is loose (if i loosen it any further; it will fall off my face) and I have the top strap adjusted well.
If you can provide any help with this issue, I'd be greatly joyful.

You could use the glasses spacers to prevent them from being to close.
I'll rather have a headset that doesn't have hardware natively... one just made for PCVR, it would also make the headset much lighter & cheaper, as well as they'd be able to push much better lenses and controllers out for the same cost. ANd they could still make it wireless, simply put a great battery in it and then they just add a small thing to make it connect to the PC with the air-link, that's that.

As a new PC owner myself I do agree but the only issue is the fact that PCVR has such a higher paywall to get into comfortably (AKA: A decent computer+ Headset) so the more widely adoptable standalone will probably stay as their main focus just with added PCVR support like the Quest 2 currently is.

@@Cashmere_Gaming No, I don't overlook anything & no, Quest 3 will not be able to have the same graphics as the PS5 puts out to the PSVR2, that is insane wish-thinking. That would literally require the quest 3 to have similar hardware inside of it, as a PC and/or the PS5.

Even more stupid is it, that native Quest 2 games doesn't run crossplay for PCVR games.. e.g. PSVR2 Pavlov has crossplay to PCVR Pavlov, but PCVR Pavlov is dead, because people play it natively on the Quest 2, but there is no crossplay from Quest 2 version of Pavlov to PCVR/PSVR2 Pavlov...
Despite it being the exact same game and everyone is on an even playing field.. that is the dumbest thing ever.

The PSVR had to due to the tracking method changing, so the games were designed to only have you turn 180 degrees so you wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the inside out tracking. The quest 3 isn’t like that, so it most likely will. It was with the quest 1, quest 2, and quest pro

It seems like with a combination of some simple 3D printed adapters and or just taking out your power drill to drill a small hole for USB C port to fit in and headphone port to fit in. There's no need to purchase all new Halo straps and such

The problem with quest three and pro is the controllers don't work without a wife router.. The headset is not longer portable, or stand alone.
