I've got so many memories in that little truck. I learned to drive in the ol Courier. Fellas, you dont know how happy it made me to see the ol girl crank up. Me and dad watched this video and reminisced for hours about our adventures iin that truck. That was the best Christmas gift i could have asked for!
Couriers were great trucks. Everything you need for a day to day truck, nothing you didn't. And one of the best parts, you could sit on the fenders without breaking it.
I had a 72 with custard color paint. It was a tough little truck. Took that little truck all over. 4 speed and 4 cylinders made for great gas mileage. All the couriers were 1.8 liters. The mazdas had a rotary engine.
I dont know if i have ever even seen a Ford Courier. Even though they are a rebadged Mazda they are still cool and they were the predecessor to the legendary Ford Ranger. It would be cool to see you guys get it roadworthy.
I remember those trucks, there was a pizza shop in my area where I grew up in NJ that had those and made deliveries with them. The trucks had a warming oven in the bed that used sterno-type cans to keep the pizza warm.
Wish small regular cab trucks were still made today here in 2024. They had great gasoline mileage and gasoline costs over 5 dollars a gallon these days.
I had a yellow one same year. Mine was an automatic. The only problem I ever had was those exposed fuses. They would corrode and lose contact. I carried a piece of Emery paper in the glove box for when the headlights would stop working
Nice video guys. Your channel came up in my recommendations. Love the old Courier utes. Yes thats what we call them in Australia. Puddins Fab Shop would love this little gem. 😂 He is actually after a early Courier. Subscribed now and look forward to see what you do to it. It look nice lowered with white steelies. Keep up the great work. 👍 🇦🇺 viewer.
I had one like yours with a bad motor! Body and frame was perfect! Set in my woods for about a year when I went to put a new motor in it, someone had stripped it and tore the dash up getting the a.m. radio out!
Good job brothers I have a 1979 Ford courier that’s in great shape if you would like to get rid of the A-C off the little truck that’s what I have been looking for thanks
Omg I have the exact same truck and in the same condition! I’m trying to restore it but first I gotta get it up and running too and don’t know where to start 😕
If the rocker arms have been took off make sure the little balls at the ends are on the flat spot.... and also recurve in the distributor has potential to fly apart... been there done that... many times. Head gaskets and crack in head...and clutch... other than that good little truck
@@ThatGuyWithTheFordsPlease don't! Keep the little 4 cylinder in this nice little truck. And please DON'T put those ugly wagon wheels and thin tires on this truck, you'll ruin the looks of it completely.
First Gen trucks were pretty much all Mazda; second Gen Couriers switch from the Mazda four cylinder to the Ford “Metric” 2.3 Pinto/Mustang II engines, which I believe was inferior.
To bad you don’t live in minnisota I got a for that’s been sitting 3 year and don’t know what’s rong with it had a lot of good truck high school truck and my grand fathers to

Great work in getting it running, fellas! My dad rembered these Couriers, and he had a 1984 Ford Ranger longbed truck for several years, also!😁👍🛠️🔧
Very cool!
I've owned 2 Couriers, a blue 72 4speed, and a blue 75 automatic long bed. Great little trucks..
They are sweet!

@@danbasta3677 $2.70 here in Texas. But I totally agree. Not everyone wants a big ole Urban Assault Vehicle!

I’m super happy we didn’t have any issues with them 😂
