Hello to Pud and family, someone asked me not so long ago what I thought a good bloke would be. It's a fair question especially since I don't really like too many people these days. Well I reckon from now on I'll tell them all to go have a good look at Puddins.
I really appreciate the time you put into it and mostly I do respect the commitment it takes. I see people who have a shop and a job and shoot off a video or two about something their getting paid to do anyway. There's a massive difference in someone that sees an opportunity in something that could be done and quits a paid job and sets out to achieve a thing that he can only see in his imagination.
So yeah I reckon you're a good bloke Pud and of course your good wife too. To think I once thought about hiding your shows from my grandchildren because they saw you Puddin dancing and made me do it too. It wasn't long before their mother, my daughter, asked who this puddin character was and what was I allowing her children to watch. Well I reminded her that the whole bloody lot of them including her were my children and if she thought that any harm was coming to them then she could always go sland outside when they visited old granddaddy. I went and explained to the children how dumb people get between the ages of children and older people like me. We thought of a plan and me and the little ones went back inside and did the puddin dance for ages until she agreed to watch one of your shows. Sorry this is so long, I don't comment hardly at all so this will make up for it.
Good ending though, she sat through a show, still didn't get it, straighty 180, and the only alternative that kids and me came up with was locking her in the shed when they visited, that was the kids idea I wanted to tell her to go home to Doug her husband and leave the kids upbringing to me. Apparently as soon they got home they shared this with their father and after a very brief conversation with wife him and children, this conversation must have gone further into the family, turned up at my place, with two cousins as well. He's a great husband and father, my daughter was blessed with him. I had to send him home he was a little sad to go but the little fellows and me agreed that he didn't fit the age group. The cousins, teenagers got bored in a day and left. I was lucky that it was holidays too as the grandchildren range from 5 I think to around 10.
I am getting somewhere with this, kids are so smart and lovely. They especially love the shows with Hotrod in them. Now the only downside if you can call it one is each time I visit their house my daughter also wants me to puddin dance, I do love them all. So you see Mr Puddin even though you and your family are way over the other side of the world what you and yours do can still touch the hearts of me and mine
I suppose that makes it more than a utube channel. When I watch with the kids it's Puddins family's show and that's brave to me. That's why I say you're a good bloke Puddin and I send you and yours all my best wishes.
P.S Sorry but I intend to visit your country for a road trip and I'll definitely want to see Potcounty, hope I spelt it correctly, and I'm planning to incorporate some of the children, I'm not sure how I'll get around say one or two obstacles but if you should ever see a bunch of Australians doing the puddin dance well it may be us.
See you mate. I do like the second show, my daughter says it would be great to have all that time, still doesn't get it mate it's what you do with that time.

Wow... this really takes me back! My Dad had a 1972 Courier, white with blue interior, and I took my driver's test in it when I turned 16. He kept it for years, finally getting rid of it when it got too rusty to get an inspection sticker. Then, a couple of years later my best friend bought another first gen Courier... this one with the automatic transmission. It was that same bright orange, and was truly gutless with the automatic, but it looked good! Looking forward to seeing what you end up doing with this one... love the channels! Had to go get some parts for the ol Millennium Focus about 15 years ago and we got a bone yard in the area where the EPA hit them on soil contamination after decades of operation so they moved all the stock, removed the contaminated soil ,rigged a collection system, encapsulated the base soil and once leveled up again paved the entire site. One of the cleanest junkyards I've ever been to.

I went to my local jy today and scored some factory Jeep aluminum 15x7 rims for my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. And the guy threw in the 4 Jeep center caps for free. Back in 1979 I had a 1978 Ford Courier Long bed that had that same red interior but mine was red on the outside also. Had a lot of fun in that little truck wish I could find another one. And yes that 2.3 badge on the grill comes off pretty easy. I took mine off when I painted the grill black. Puddin" just go ahead and buy the 2 gen. We had one of those, LOL! I borrowed it from my Pappy one day for a drive and popped over a hill with a T in the road and a stop sign as soon as I came over the hill. I'm 6'8" and in trying to hit the brake so quick my leg was caught under the steering wheel and I couldn't get my foot over to the brake fast enough. Went through the T, through a barbed wire fence and into the cornfield on the other side of the road. It didn't do much damage to the truck and Pappy drove it for years afterwards until he tried to pull a VW bug with it and scored one of the pistons. Funny thing is, now I drive a '98 regular cab Ranger xlt that has 149,003 miles on it. There's slightly more room than the Courier, but not much. It does have a bigger engine, being a 2.5l instead of the 1.8l the Courier had, but it doesn't seem any more powerful, lol. :) Thing is, I'm not really even a ford fella. The truck was free as I had to put a new slave cylinder in it to get the clutch to work and since you have to drop the tranny to even get to the slave cylinder I just put in new everything. Clutch, master cyl, slave cyl., flywheel, rear main seal...etc, etc.

My family , on both side' worked in the auto industry..
My uncle worked at a Ford plant in Michigan..
The foreign cars/trucks back in the 70's had started gaining in popularity .
But , if you drove a foriegn auto to work at Ford , you were not allowed to park in the parking lot closest to the plants .
The foriegn rigs had to be parked across the highway & walk a man bridge to the factory...
So a guy bought a Ford Courier (brand new) and parked it in the domestic parking lot..
But , most protested bitterly because it was made in Japan..
However , the management said he can park there...
My uncle walked out after his shift & noticed a small crowd around the Courier ...
The truck had been totally destroyed with hammers , baseball bats , hatchets & a sharp knife to cut the interior to ribbons ..
The truck owner was Furious !
But they never knew who or how many had demolished that truck , right there in the parking lot...
    P. S. A few days later , the truck owner showed up in a new vehicle ...
It was a F100 made in the good ole U.S of A.
    True story.

My 82 long-bed Courier was the best cost per mile of any vehicle I owned.
Not luxury, by any means but 28mpg or better on trips and plain bulletproof to 340k when I sold it.
The low-mileage 85 Ranger with 2.3 5 spd was also a good truck but I missed the long bed and the tarp/tie down hooks on the bed.
Still sporting the same toolbox and ladder rack 40 years later on my 97 Ranger.
The 300 six and the 2.3 4cyl have served my hauling needs for 1.5 million miles since 1982.
Aside from replacing the transmission in the 81/82 Courier when I purchased it, (bought it from the manager of the oil change place who forgot to put gear oil in it and drove 12k miles on residue b4 it cashed in a bearing) I put no major components such as rear ends, transmissions nor motors in any of those well worked, purchased used vehicles while often driving them into the 400,000s and one van to 535k when some idiot ran a red light and creamed it.
I have nothing against Chevy and Dodge. I will, however, always be a Ford Truck man.

Mazda truck with the inverted Hood looks like the motor area has been winterized a lot of straw and debris to keep that motor warm! Cuz Mama didn't raise no punk

Good vid. My dad bought his ford courier brand new in 1974, drove it up til about 6years ago. Engine died and body was full of rust! In all the same locations, under the windshield, bottom front of the doors. I learned to drive stick in that truck! Great to see you dig one out! 🎉

I like that Mazda, my dad had one that was very clean back in the 90s. He let me drive it a lot to work and stuff before he sold it to one of my friends. I can't remember ever putting gas in it. That was a good truck, should have snatched it up myself.

I was hoping that under all those blankets was a rotary. You would have a real find there.
In the early 80s I worked for a foreign car shop in St. Petersburg FL. We had a 1st gen Mazda in mint condition with no motor. We did have a DOHC Fiat and automatic that the car was a rust bucket. So we made a FIAZDA. Coupled to that short geared manual rear end that automatic was a neck snapper! The little truck was a stoplight to stoplight blast but ran out of legs on the highway. It was a surprise to every Porsche or BMW that tried her. I sent some Mustangs and Camaros packing too.
That thing was a blast to drive running parts.
    Those were the days.....
    Cheers
    Terry

Used to own a '72 Courier, bought new for about $2000 plus tax and license. Had a lot of good times with that truck.
I like Saint Louis Salvage. Not a nanny operation where they won't let you have freedom to roam.
