  • Hey Guys and Gals!
In this video I show you how to re-grease your front and rear wheel bearings on your Toyota Landcruiser 80 series or 105 series. The count down is on until we leave for Cape York and our preparations are well under way and nearing the end. There are only a few more things to tick of the list and we will be on our way to the Cape.
We are leaving from the Sunshine Coast on the 4th of August and have 2 and 1/2 weeks to complete our trip. We plan to complete the Old Coach Road and Old Telegraph Track. The 80 series has been brought back to life to carry out the 6000km journey up and back to the Cape, hopefully without any issues.
In this video i start by showing you how to re-grease the rear wheel bearings and carry out the tightening procedure correctly. Then i move on to the front and thoroughly show you how to carry out the replacement of the front bearings and how to re-grease, pre-load and tension them correctly.

Two major points: All the old grease must be washed out of the hub and bearing before repacking. Two: Always lubricate the oil seal in the rubber surface before the hub is installed.

Great vid Nick. This is exactly how you'd do it if you broke down away from a workshop. Brilliant work.

Excellent vid - one tip, when popping the cone put a big bronze punch on the loosened nut and hit the punch with the hammer. It will pop the cone a lot easier and is easier on the nut and stud.
