*Me 3/4 into the movie*
7 years ago when this came out, I was in early high school. I remember pirating the movie, and when it came to the west I loved it so much I went and saw it in theaters. My family had this old piano, that was and still is out of key, and I would come home and try to learn this song after school by watching this and the tutorial version of the video. I had no piano experience, and even when I printed the sheet music I had to write all the notes because I couldn't read. I just watched the movie again, I'm now 22 and fresh out of college, the same as Taki at the end of the movie. I knew that I had to come back and listen to this while I prepare my lunch for work tomorrow. It's funny how time flies. Thank you for your amazing music and for being there throughout the years

I was walking through a field near my house around 5-6 pm (sunset hour) and this cover started playing on my headphones. I couldn't help myself and started crying, I remembered the movie but also the melodie is so beautiful and gives you the vibe of melancholy when you hear it. "It was, after all, a beautiful thing to watch".
I watch many anime but this is one of the movies I can't just shrug off, which really works me up. This movie was beautiful.
But tbh, I kinda wished the body-swapping real life part were longer cause that was the part in the movie that didn't tramp on my feelings. And it was humorous, especially Mitsuha in Takis body was really cute.

I just now got around to watching this movie. At first, I thought it was kinda weird and boring, but after watching for some time, it touched something deep inside of me. When the ending rolled around, I had tears in my eyes. That was when I realized that this movie is a true masterpiece. I can`t seem to forget it, even though it has been days since I watched it. This song in particular has been circulating around inside my head, and I can`t stop thinking about it. What a movie...
If you haven`t watched this yet, do yourself a favor and go out and watch it right now. It will move you, make you laugh, make you cry, and that much I can promise. Truly a masterpiece, and I will probably never forget this movie!

I was waiting for this movie for so long, I went to see it the day it got released in my country.
I had the chance to watch it with my best friend that I've know for all my life, and my girlfriend at that time (my very first and only girlfriend I've ever had), who's the only only I've ever loved and I still am.
When we got to this part of the movie, I just looked at her and realised that I loved her, I just genuinely loved her and just said "I love you".
I was so happy because I got to see this fantastic movie with the two most important people in my life!

Then few month later... I learned that my best friend finally pasted away because of his cancer.
I was so sad, so mad because of this and because of the fact that I didn't like my engineering school or the situation in my home.
I didn't manage to bear all of this, and thus got great consequences on my relationship.

Koro-Sensei omg yess I was screaming i had to catch myself acting like they were real people but I just didn't want it to end like that again. I was like not another 5 centimeters per second
Koro-Sensei same producer ;) there were many good similarities within the two films. He basically took what made 5cm fucking fantastic, adapted the plot masterfully and placed further emphasis on the better parts, eg the ending. If they hadn't turned around I'd have said it was too similar to 5cm but when they did it blew me away ;) left us a world of possibilities...
Koro-Sensei dude 5cm made me hate trains but this time the trains brought them together and allowed them to see each other again AHHHH

The comet is not just a disaster at all. It is the cause and solution of the fate of Mitsuha and Taki. The body-swapping, memory loss/gain, saved Mitsuha's life, and connected two different people from different places and time. It has went beyond science and art. I can't believe that such a brilliant and beautiful film ever exists.

My heart was about to explode watching the movie, especially the ending.
This song makes me feel like everything in world happens for a reason and no matter how twisted it is, the lesson and reward is always there.
God, how I love this anime, it's my favorite in a difficult situation of my life, it caught my eye and became my first anime that I watched at a conscious age and changed my attitude to the anime genre, when I hear this music, I just start crying "Your name" will always be mine favorite anime Makoto shinkai thank you for this wonderful anime
