Tokyo Ghoul OST - Glassy Sky is finally arranged! It took me two weeks to arrange this, particularly because it's not your usual anime song structure. It's much more flowing, much more improv-like.
I'm actually a massive fan of Donna Burke, the singer of this song due to her works in Metal Gear games. Her Heaven's Divide song is probably one of my favorites. And Glassy Sky is of course is damn good as well.
Subtitles for the song lyrics will be added later, I only have a short time to record/edit the video today because it's my sister's graduation banquet tonight, so I rushed the upload. Hopefully there are no errors in the editing or syncing.

Well yeah, but the opening doesn't really count as part of the OST, it's much more of an iconic way to identify the anime, and even then, the opening did get put into the OST in Root A, as an acoustic arrangement which i think is probably the best thing they could've done.

It's totally true, as a pianist, this is very accurate. Pianos are just like a lot of persons that walk at your side carrying you to the world that you create when a piece is bootyful and gives you chills.
@Jean Roux Especially when you've been with the same piano for years. I have a Grand Piano myself which I've had for a while now (rn I'm 17 but I've had it for like 4-5 years). Every night when I go to the living room to turn off the lights I can't help but smile at her. She's sitting there so beautifully in the corner of the room. Humidity control system showing that lovely green light signalling she's okay. Then checking my hygrometer, and turning off the light. It's like I'm verbally telling her good night somehow and so is she. It sounds really weird if you're not a pianist, but sometimes you really feel like you're communicating with your instrument. And when I wake up she's there for me. The only thing in my life that will always be there for me

Well...umm...they're not.
Most of the Tokyo ghoul songs to me are so emotional. Maybe because they made the characters and the songs relate in so much emotion and meaning. Its enough to make a grown man cry. Literally. The animators and composers made the scenes of this anime, no. This masterpiece of a show so beautiful in its own ways. Of how little shows can make such a connection and feel emotion through just a couple songs. This is always going to be one of the best anime’s of its time and will never be overthrown.
I mean FMAB/FMA are the best but tokyo ghoul has a very special place in my heart.
it's shit after the first season, music still goes hard tho. It needs the FMAB treatment, as the manga is god tier :(

No one will probably see this but this was by far my favorite song that I had ever heard from an anime. Watching tokyo ghoul season three hurts my heart because I feel like it has taken such a different turn and I wish it was how it used to be. I remember I was in eighth grade when I watched the last episode of season two and now I’m soon going to start my final year of highschool. Time flies. Beautiful cover, brings chills and tears to my eyes. Never knew a simple piano cover could make me feel so much emotion

People often excuse all the hard work and talent to "eh, he's asian," and i feel like they're just salty that they can't devote the same amount of effort into doing the things they love
Asian culture typically is associated with very hardworking individuals who tend to be especially good at music and academics. Their stereotype doesn't assume that they're just naturally good at what they do but more that they have invested countless hours into their passion.

3 years ago you inspired me to start playing the piano. I had no clue it was anime music or even what anime was to be quite honest. You're style of playing and arranging has influenced my playing so much but not to say I'm a clone of what you do, but rather helped me shape my style of writing and playing. Now, the reason I say this is because this particular piece reminded me of the same exact feeling your music gave me when I first came across your channel. Please don't stop what you're doing, I'm sure I'm not the only one to feel this way but either way I'd like my inspiration to know this. If you have however received hate comments from this account I do happen to share this with 7 other people who constantly browse through my UA-cam search history (5 of which are classically trained pianists) well anyways thank you for your influence on me

Coffee in Tokyo Ghoul is symbolic. It's always a reminder for Kaneki on what Yoshimura thought to him through "perfect" brewing of coffee that connects people while conversing or simply having a peaceful time.
And Yoshimura wanted that peace. And the coffee was the tangible symbol of that. Which is why its sad when everything or mostly in Tokyo Ghoul, all about tragedy
SFLL Otaku yeah but it's still a glass of coffee mate, idc about it's little symbolism because I doubt he was wven thinking all that while spamming the crying emoji like a 12 year old girl that just found out about Demi Lovatos overdose.
