but its true and everyone whether or not they want to know it will happen to all of us and we will will realize the world is a cruel yet beautiful place which we all must endure for its fate and why not make as many friends or acquaintances along the way because life is short shorter than most would expect that is our gift and our curse
I started playing piano when I was 8 years old. During my primary school I was constantly bullied for playing it since it was seen as a girly instrument. My family hated me practicing it as well since my keyboard was set up in the centre of the house, so I could only practice when I has home alone pretty much. As a result I quit piano after only a year of playing. I played on and off from when I was 9 until now, never really gaining much progress or accomplishing anything. But Your Lie In April, and Theishter both inspired me to take piano back up as a full time hobby. I've started lessons again, am making huge progress and am loving it so much. So thank you to you Theishter, and thanks to Kaori and Kousei for making me love piano again.
+Kazuhira Miller Kaz... did you have a piano in Mother Base?? For serious though, that's great news and I'm glad I did a part in inspiring you (as I'm inspired by anime as well, it's pretty much the only genre I play on the piano lol). Hope you continue it as a hobby and maybe a career? :3
+Theishter - Anime on Piano thanks so much man. It means so much to have a reply from you. Yeah, I'll definitely continue it as a hobby as best I can, hopefully I'll be able to play some of your transcriptions soon. :)
This is what actual piano sounds like it's not about how many notes you play at once or how fast you can play it's how beautifully it's played i can prob play this with my eyes closed having that said, there is no chance in hell that i can play it as BEAUTIFULLY as him it takes holy shit talent to play it this nicely only true piano players would understan hehe
+ZiTazonessofDoom I consider talent on how fast you can pick up things, or how naturally you are good at things. But that doesn't mean you can't be as good as them. You might take a bit longer -- that's just life, but regardless if u keep practicing trust me ull get so much better :D. Learning is always the boring part of anything trust me
Dear Theishter, I watched Your Lie in April almost exactly a year ago. This anime opened my eyes to how beautiful and simple our emotions really are; I cried nearly every episode: sad and happy tears. It inspired me to make the most of my life and do the best I can with everything I put effort into. During this time, I was a high school junior studying for the four ap exams I had coming up. I have an intense anxiety disorder but I love learning so I challenge myself in school. My point is I was experiencing the highest levels of stress I've ever had to deal with and I was struggling...really struggling. I'd find myself crying almost every night from the anxiety and the frustration of not being able to concentrate. But this anime gave me the motivation I needed. That exam room was my stage to shine. I did amazing on those tests. However, this year I'm a senior and I'm taking even more challenging ap exams. I've been studying extremely hard for months now, but the exams are finally just around the corner (next week). These past two days I've been feeling more down than I have in months and I had one of my worst panic attacks the other day. Today, I felt beaten and hopeless. When I played your playlist of anime covers like I always do when I begin to study :3 I noticed in the recommendations a Your Lie in April cover of yours that I hadn't seen before :o! I was so excited to listen to my favorite song of this anime played so beautifully by my favorite anime pianist. Your notes are like reassurance that everything will be ok and I can be strong through it all. This melody brought me not only happy nostalgia from my favorite anime but also from the same stress I am experiencing now that I had a year ago. Despite my worrying, everything turned out way better than ok and you've reminded me that the same will happen this year: I can find confidence in my knowledge and work hard toward my goals. The fact that it's this anime means so much to me (it's my favorite) and is really special for me this time of year. I almost feel like it's a gift just for me. I say this with tears of relief, thank you. Thank you for showing me the hope I thought had lost and the peace of mind I so desperately needed. Thank you. Your fan, Psiren
Theishter, I really just want to remind you that you inspire me as a fellow pianist. I actually made my first (short) piano transcription this week and watching your videos make me want to be better at transcribing and improvising. Keep doing what you're doing!
When you played the very first two notes of the song, I could feel my heart rip into two because just that two notes can make all of the feelings of that anime come back and hit you like when someone hits you with a baseball bat.
Baseball through my window hitting me in the face YOUR LIE IN APRIL WAS SUCH A SAD ANIME LIKE IT HOLDS AND WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART!
Listening to this I can feel all the nostalgia and the waves of emotion from watching Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. You've hit this piece right on with all the feels and such. I found myself crying a bit while listening to this, the fact that I played Lucid9 beforehand and finished it may not have helped at all. Tehishter, I just wanna say that you have been such an inspiration. Every piece of your music has moved me, it's motivated me. I've recently been in a depressing state, every single day, it just be me thinking what to do the next day, I had no ambition, no goals set in my future. My friends who tried to help me, I pushed them all away, including online. I'd just be that one kid daydreaming in class, go home and waste my time twiddling with my fingers. I found your channel a while back along with some other pianists. I found something, a love for this type of music, it's engrossed me into the Japanese culture, I was able to regain my life, I studied music once again when I dropped it in the past claiming I hated it. I knew I was lying to myself back then, but being arrogant, I never came back to music until a few weeks ago. I believe it was from listening to your ERASED Soundtrack arrangement, it was the real piece that inspired me, I sat down at my piano, and played. Once I played, I just kept on playing, the sounds were pleasant to my ears and gave color to my life [No pun intended ;)] I'm sorry this because quite depressing, but I'd just like to say that your music has inspired and motivated me and I'm sure even more people as well. Before this turns into an essay, I'd like to say thank you for everything you have done to my life even if it was indirectly. I hope that you can become more motivated and inspired soon, I hope that you can quickly regain that spark you have for music if you haven't already. I'm not good at comforting people so I do apologize for this but you're one of the few people I look up to, a role-model if you would say. Thank you so much :)
I've played piano ever since I was a kid. I posted a few piano covers on my channel, but then I had my first ever professional proformance. It didn't end well. After that I slowly stopped playing. I started looking into other areas of music like programing, and making orchestra covers, but I was slowly walking away from the piano. The best way I can describe it is that my passion was slowly dying. But then I found this show, and after watching Arima's story, I started playing again, and this summer I get another change to perform at the same place I did before. This Anime was the fule that re started my passion.
No matter what happens, there is always music to turn to. Music is a language of the heart; it tells a message through a powerful form of communication and it seems like you wanted to get this out so that others could hear your "message". *SIDENOTE:*I just love how nostalgic pieces can bring back so many great memories~ This was amazing and I hope you can find yourself again soon
+DarkRegeX I'm mostly better now! I think the process of improvising and posting on UA-cam is such a useful thing. Also, seeing encouraging comments helps a ton~ Music is amazing, isn't it. A simple song like this could bring a flood of emotions back.
Someone so special to my heart made a cover of this song. It's been 4 years since we've last talked, yet I still use his covers to ease my pain and recharge from this stressful world. It's just so saddening that, like him, all the places we went together are all starting to change nowadays. I don't know if it's for the better that we went separate ways. But what I am sure about is that no matter what happens, all our memories will stay in both my heart and mind even after my last breath in this lifetime. To you, we may be fated to cross paths, but time may not be in our luck. In the end, you taught me how to love so purely that I am willing to give you up for Him. Please always take care.
No no I'm not crying, flies just got into both of my eyes and I had to swat them off so now my eyes are all red. Thanks for the feels Ishter this was a beautiful yet very sad cover ! :')
imagine some smart-ass or a cute girl ,you meet on the street/school and you find out she likes the same stuff but ... you find out that she is going to move or maybe has a dissease my point is say "thank you" because someday they wont be there anymore and you gonne regret something really stupid AND make memories with people go do stuff and enjoy it
thank you for this song theishter...the timing couldnt have been more perfect with my depression and doubts right now..thank you for making me realise that there's something beautiful in this world
It doesn't matter if the piece is perfect the way it hits the audience is what makes it a good piano piece this made me cry you are a truly talented pianist
"Was I able to live inside someone's heart?" Yes, Kaori. You were able to live inside the hearts of the people in the anime world and the humans in the real world, you didn't even know existed... Im referring to us, the humans who fell in love and cried because of Kaori...
+Mikey 905 Ehhhh. For me it was the opposite way around. My piano sat collecting dust for a good 5 years before watching this anime gave me my motivation back 😂.
+Mikey 905 Getting back into it was the hardest part. I spent hours on hours beating myself up on how I couldn't play pieces I had no problem playing before I stopped. Honestly, after I got past that initial wall, the satisfaction of pounding out the chords in the chorus of this is exhilarating, and makes new honestly wonder why I quit in the first place.
I accidentally listened to this piece with youtube's autoplay 4 days ago and decided to watch the movie. I finished watching Shingatsu wa kimi no uso today and cried like a baby, then went to the library to find the last piano piece (Chopin's Ballade no.1 in G minor), listened to it on UA-cam while reading the notes, cried again. I practiced for 3hrs then listened again to your cover, cried one more time. This movie is, with no doubt, one of the best music theme anime I've ever watched. Thank you Ishter for this beautiful piece.
This was on my birthday, i woke up with its notification about 3 years ago. It was an early birthday present, ive listened to this every morning once i woke up walking to school or just laying in my bed enjoying it. And till this day ive been listening to this. Its almost my birthday and again, like every year, my early birthday gift is listening to your wonderful music. Your such an wonderful piano player. I wish i had the talent to do what you do, but i dobt, and that is why i listen to it...To enjoy your music. Thank you. For that. For everything you do. Keep it up.❤
and *we* have to. it's this anime's lesson. we all have to love the ones who love us, and remember that who is not in our lifes anymore... leaved a trace in our soul, and it will live forever inside us
this show is the only show that has made me cry... the first time i ever had tears run down my face to land on the ground, and snot to come out of my nose because of a tv show.. this show has left a open wound on my heart that will always be there.. forever. kaori really made all of us not forget this.
This song is so beautiful but makes me think more and more about a lot of sad shit. Just opening up wounds from the anime. I just can’t help but to cry over how sad the anime is. Your playing is beautiful and thank you for sharing this with the world
This anime is the reason why Ive gotten so much better at piano, just to be honest. It revived my love for piano, and now I'm even picking up other instruments. This soundtrack is utterly beautiful..
“Maybe there's only a dark road ahead. But you still have to believe and keep going. Believe that the stars will light your path, even a little bit. Come on... Let's go on a journey!” - Kaori Miyazono
This is so beautiful... this is what perfecting piano truly is.. y'all who think it's about how fast and accurate you play or how many notes you play at the same time.. it's not like that. Its about how beautiful you can play a piece.
I'm coming back to finish learning this piece and I can't believe the music sheets are free. I'd be more than happy to support your work but thank you regardless
The OST of Shigatsu wa Kimi Uso is just as good as Clannad's. I can remember watching the scenes with this in the background. Just listening to this brings back the memories and the feels :( As usual, well played ishter.
I can tell how deep your feelings were as you performed this piece. You let everything out. After you did so, a weight lifted off of your shoulders, right? Remember to keep playing!
You had no motivation according to the description, yet everytime I hear this arrangement I feel it's one of the most relaxing and maybe the best at sharing emotions with the listener. Kudos mate, I shed a tear with this one ;)
It's been years since I watched this anime but... the wound still hasn't closed and it will never be. This is my favorite cover and it just hits me a lot. So much emotion. Thank you.
I've gotta say you did an amazing job playing this piece, one can definitely feel the emotion behind each keystroke, and that's a lot to say compared to other performances I've heard of Your Lie in April which feel very flat and take away all emotion from this piece. Keep it up :)
April is coming... I'm going to practice the piano... And I'm watching Your Lie in April again... This'll be my second time watching it... Edit: During Quarantine, not only have I learned how to play the piano, I've also learned how to play the bass guitar along with my brother who now plays the guitar.
Since I have anxiety, when I have an attack, I'll come listen to this. It helps me a lot, and I'm trying to learn it at the moment. You are truly amazing.
Sometimes I forget how truly special this anime is, but then spring comes around and I'm filled with a sense of calm. Some people find it silly to be to swayed by an anime but that's so limiting, it may of just been drawings on a screen but the feelings I felt were real, and they will be for the rest of my life.
It’s not April anymore :c, but I watched the anime a year ago and I rewatched it again and it really just makes me cry and my heart just feels like it’s about explode and cry too. It’s so beautiful and it’s probably my favorite thing in the world even if it’s just an anime.
idk if you'll ever see this but man thank you so much, you're not like the other ppl who have to make their viewers pay for the sheets, it was literally so easy to find them with your site again thanks so much!!
men you got the power too make the people fell better when they heardt you playing, you dont have to fell bad and its ok ,but remember that!! keep moving forward you are excelent musician greeting from panama
After a couple of years today, I came back 😅😂😢 working on a project for a hackathon, and it was a bit tiring, but this song, for some reason, calmed me down and made me cry. I can't stop rn 🥺🥹 it on Oct 13 🎉 im happy to be alive to hear this! Thanks you! ❤
Watched this anime when i was still "young-minded" and now ive rewatched it, it was like my whole life was over. Understanding the words they said when u still didnt understand it as a kid, damn. My life is so over.
At some point in life, you need to accept the fact that...
Some people will stay in your heart...
But not in your life :'(
that's deep bruh
but its true and everyone whether or not they want to know it will happen to all of us and we will will realize the world is a cruel yet beautiful place which we all must endure for its fate and why not make as many friends or acquaintances along the way because life is short shorter than most would expect that is our gift and our curse

Been there. Dont want to go there ever again

Watashi no Uso = My Lie.
I can only imagine how hard it was for Kaori to hide her feelings.
Ouch..
maybe she shouldn't've hidden it
It's hard as f*ck to hide your feelings, trust me.
Wasn't the name Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso?

AND make memories with people go do stuff and enjoy it
She wouldn't even bother with me..... I am ugly and always look depressed
I- I felt that on a spiritual level my friend
THØT SLAYER it’s ok so am i😄👍🏾
thank you for this song theishter...the timing couldnt have been more perfect with my depression and doubts right now..thank you for making me realise that there's something beautiful in this world
+josie chan I hope you can rise from the sadness as well!
It doesn't matter if the piece is perfect the way it hits the audience is what makes it a good piano piece this made me cry you are a truly talented pianist
Oh god, thank you for this. Wonderful work.
workin on any openings?
"Was I able to live inside someone's heart?"
Yes, Kaori. You were able to live inside the hearts of the people in the anime world and the humans in the real world, you didn't even know existed...
Im referring to us, the humans who fell in love and cried because of Kaori...
The way you play is teaching me to embrace the dance that hitting the keys can be
There are no brakes on the FEEL TRAIN
« There is something Miwa said the other day. When you fall in love with someone, everything around you is colorful. » -Tsubaki, Miwa
I love that line
Wow, I didn't know her first name was miwa
that moment when you wanted to learn how to play this piece but then you don't even know how to play the piano u_u
*looks at picture*.......WAIT AREN'T YOU DEAD ?!!
***** it did, your music has reached me !!
+Mikey 905 you're awesome
Keep it up.❤
+AnimePianoAngel Thanks, feeling better already just reading your comment~ I really appreciate it! :3
We all know...
It reached her.
It has to.
It...had to.
and *we* have to. it's this anime's lesson. we all have to love the ones who love us, and remember that who is not in our lifes anymore... leaved a trace in our soul, and it will live forever inside us
Mother Of Dragons I’m crying now 😢
my tears arent stopping :((
Nooo😭
this show is the only show that has made me cry... the first time i ever had tears run down my face to land on the ground, and snot to come out of my nose because of a tv show..
this show has left a open wound on my heart that will always be there.. forever. kaori really made all of us not forget this.
I don't play piano much,
but when I do,
it's in April
*tries not to cry
*cries a lot.
It’s amazing how that single note at the beginning can make you feel a ton of different emotions.
The moment you started playing i got shivers all over my body, i just leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes.. absolutely loved it.
“Maybe there's only a dark road ahead. But you still have to believe and keep going. Believe that the stars will light your path, even a little bit. Come on... Let's go on a journey!” - Kaori Miyazono
This can't get more sad.
.
.
.
.
Kaori died without knowing that kousei loved her too.
Yeah that's so sad :(
No need to worry, it reached both of them. Even if what you said was true, like Kousei said: “If I forgot, you would haunt me as a ghost”. ❤️
I think she kinda knew, or realised.
@@hiddelaan4317 but to hear it from the person you love that's relief and happiness of a eternity
this anime will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️
I fucking love your pfp
Me too
your lie in april has made me want to pursue the piano because of how beautiful it is and how much emotion you are able to portray.
ikr, it made me come back to piano and start playing again, :D. Glad I watched it (YLIA).
This is so beautiful... this is what perfecting piano truly is.. y'all who think it's about how fast and accurate you play or how many notes you play at the same time.. it's not like that. Its about how beautiful you can play a piece.
"I was not brave enough to ask the reason behind her tears."
well. damn. it. :(
The only thing that makes me sadder than what the music brings me is that THERE ARE NO SHEETS
Yup ;-;
Check the f****** description first, lol.
+Cantavanda ummm it's only a link to a sheet archive with his other songs, this is an improvisation so there is no sheet music...
+Sean Millward Sorry, then his description was misleading.
+Cantavanda no probs, ishter doesn't usually do sheet music anyway, but someone usually ends up transposing it for the masses like me to learn
Such a clear warm sound. So many anime pianists bringing the feels with Your Lie in April covers. I missed out.
I'm coming back to finish learning this piece and I can't believe the music sheets are free. I'd be more than happy to support your work but thank you regardless
hands down one of the most beautiful piano covers i have ever heard in my life
The OST of Shigatsu wa Kimi Uso is just as good as Clannad's. I can remember watching the scenes with this in the background. Just listening to this brings back the memories and the feels :( As usual, well played ishter.
Well, the Clannad OST is trash.
Raptor Jesus What makes you say that?
Nick Santa ana Not only was it too sumple and typical, but it was literally shit. Nothing like Sugiyama or Kanno for a good soundtrack.
Kazuhira Miller I could sue £3000 off your gay ass.
this april, and i still cry.
Rest rest rest kaori:):(
aw man this brings back the feels T.T
+Zengarang Piano Remember the ending episodes? It's probably the most painful ;__;
Dude the final episode absolutely tore me to shreds.
Narrowly avoided my roommate walking in on me crying in the dark.
I cried for a solid week after watching this. The only thing that made me cry harder was Clannad.
This is the first anime that really gave a scar in my heart
1:36 My heart oh my god. D:
I feel you.
😞

+LamyAssassin the first notes in this song kills me everytime
+rubekscuberino owo love this anime so much
Send help, i didnt get sad
Exactly lol
It's been years since I watched this anime but... the wound still hasn't closed and it will never be. This is my favorite cover and it just hits me a lot. So much emotion. Thank you.
I've gotta say you did an amazing job playing this piece, one can definitely feel the emotion behind each keystroke, and that's a lot to say compared to other performances I've heard of Your Lie in April which feel very flat and take away all emotion from this piece. Keep it up :)
All the emotions, feelings... they are all coming back.
April is coming...
I'm going to practice the piano...
And I'm watching Your Lie in April again...
This'll be my second time watching it...
Edit: During Quarantine, not only have I learned how to play the piano, I've also learned how to play the bass guitar along with my brother who now plays the guitar.
3rd
Apenas uma palavra pode descrever isso “emocionante”❤️
Simplesmente tocou com a alma, encantada.
+Maria Sousa só de ouvir da arrepio kkk.... o saudade .....
Achei br 👏👏, finalmente br com bom gosto

Watch it, I dare you. Almost 100% a guarantee you'll shed a tear or two. x3

Ok guys I'm putting this anime on my to-do list.
You won't regret it
Ah next month is april, spring month.....
A spring is coming without you

There's a Vietnamese inspired song for this. It's called "Thang Tu La Loi Noi Doi Cua Em" which translates to Your Lie in April
X :')
X in indonesian is "kebohonganmu di bulan april" which translates "your lie in april"
Thanks you! ❤
The way you transcribed this song is just too beautiful! Thanks for another great piece!
this was my favorite anime
me too :D
this isn't my favorite anime, but it's in my top 10.
Even though it fucked me up hard.. but i still love this anime.
At present you don't like this anime anymore?
man is it just me or can i hear kaori's violin even tho it's only piano
Me too , this is crazy 💔
Crying in the toilet for the past hour listening to this song
Same
Just realized, your channel is great as background music while reading manga. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
This arrangement inspired me to make a kalimba cover of this piece. Thank you, Ishter!
1:41 always hits me so hard.
The piano sheet for this song is not on website 😕 it’s the best version I found on UA-cam
Will there be a day that I don't cry over this?
Average Nerd tough question lol
when the invisible ninja is gone ... that day you will not cry over this
TheCelloPerson The phandom is everywhere ;)
This is the video that got me hooked to piano and piano anime BGMs/OSTs.
Thank you.
Watched this anime when i was still "young-minded" and now ive rewatched it, it was like my whole life was over. Understanding the words they said when u still didnt understand it as a kid, damn. My life is so over.
Came back for my Yearly reminder that it's another April without Kaori
