I did this on a 98 , had a donor jeep that was rolled . Added 2" blocks and 31x10.50 tires .all the plugs were there ,all the bolt holes were there. The only thing I had to cut and modify was mounting lights and speakers.
Nice video! I have the 93' Jeep Grand CherokeeLaredo I6 4.0 with the select trac/242 and 42RE. How can I tell or is mine a true 4×4 application? Thx so muuch?
Hey Todd thx for watching more of my videos. I'm a little confused on exactly what you are asking. I think you are asking how can I tell if my ZJ was a factory 4x4? If that's the case the chances of someone doing the conversation to an early ZJ is rare so I'd say it probably is right away, however there will be other signs like the factory 4wd indicator under the radio and the VIN number
Hi there, so Im here since I have a 95 rear wheel drive Cherokee and Im planning on making her 4 wheel drive... this is my current parts list that your video helped me assemble: Front Axle, Transmission transfer case combo, both front and rear axles, maybe tie rods and ends, track bar, front and rear drive shafts, mount for 4x4 selector, 4x4 lever, 4x4 window thingy, an NOVAC unit. Does that all seem right? Im planning on attempting it during the fall so it cools off a bit up here.
I have a 1995 jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 2wd my bracket broke for my lower control arm can I use a 4x4 front axle and just not use the 4x4 option because I can not seem to find a front axle for a 1995 zj
Don’t understand how much they helped me
My son and I are about to embark on an extensive ZJ refresh. The plan is to have it done by his 16th in November. You just earned a new sub.
Glad to hear it thank you!
Details! It's all in the details!
I couldn't agree more!
Thank you for the detailed video! Just what I've been searching for.
Glad it was helpful!
Right on point for what I was looking for. Thanks

great video. why would you need to regear the front axle if you don't get them as a set?
I have a 1995 4x4 will everything work on my 2001 2wd ?

No, the transmission, transfer case combo are the same for both.

Will 96 4wd transmission bolt up on 2001 jeep?
It will bolt up yes.
How do you repin the wires?
Take the retainer out of the plug and I have found that picks are the best to release the very tiny button that holds them in the plug.
so will a 99 2wd work with a 01 4wd if i wanna swap the 4x4 to my 99?
It should work those are both from the OBDII years they should be exactly the same
