Is it just me but it sounds like the number of deaths is being covered up? Saying only 8 people died when eye witnesses report seeing multiple dead bodies doesn’t make sense or add up to me
Eyewitnesses likely didn't know for sure whether the people they saw were dead or not.

I've been caught in a crowd surge like this. It is absolutely terrifying and you feel helpless. I was lucky to get out due to security actually stepping in and creating a human wall. Travis Scott should be held 100% responsible for this because he continued despite looking directly at a potentially dead boy being carried out and continued to drone on. The crowd was begging him to stop but he wouldn't. He even chastised security for trying to intervene.
Well also blame the people breaking through the gates and creating the overflow of people.

Went to a Marilyn Manson concert, he stopped his show and screamed at some people who were acting out. The entire crowed was dead silent while he was speaking. He told the three trouble makers to leave. One of them was wearing a big puffy blue jacket, the crowed literally parted and let them out. Granted this was 20 years ago but what's the difference?

l i l I: There probably was, as you say people just stepping over dead bodies. But more people got trampled. So some actually did walk on living people and killed them. Some actually walked on dead people. But the vast majority were carried along in the crowd as they struggled not to be pushed over or suffocated themselves. They could not extract themselves from the crowd; nor could they move their arms or even heads in some cases to try and get into a position that put less pressure on their bodies so that they could breathe.

Back in the 90s, I was at a Metal concert, the crowd shoved forward about 5'. I was standing on something lumpy then felt a hand smacking my knee. Some poor kid was under us. Thankfully there was a tall guy next to me. I didn't know him but didn't care. All my focus was on getting this kid up. I grabbed the tall guy's shoulder so i was no longer standing on the kid. Grabbed his arm and was pulling him up. I really don't know how i was able to do it. We were so squished together like these guys said. I couldn't get help or flag anyone down. The band was playing and everyone was singing and cheering. It was impossible to be heard over all that noise. But somehow I pulled him up. We started moving our way to the front of the stage. I told security he needed to get out, they pulled him over the barricade and took him to the medics. It was honestly terrifying to be so helpless being surrounded by thousands of people. The weight of people shoving forward is insane. I am glad the kid was okay. I don't go to concerts anymore.

EVERYONE in the business knows that when they set up assigned rows of seating on the floor level, they won't have people mobbing the stage. BUT ... renting and setting up all that seating costs money, and you sell a lot less tickets. You can fit two or three times as many people (and sell 2-3x as many tickets), when the floor is standing-room only.
So there you have it... who cares if people in the crowd die? Certainly not the artist and the venue... they were making BANK. And that's really all that matters to them.

I don’t feel sorry for them, I worked at 3 club events of his last year and his fans mosh and push to the front in a way that I’ve never seen with other performers and performances and they don’t listen and we are more hands-on than concert staff. They crushed the furniture with their weight that was supposed to be a barrier trying to get closer and closer. I had to push people 3rows back constantly and ceaselessly to keep the ones in front of them from getting crushed. I pulled a girl up from the ground that was getting crushed in the front and let her get some air and told her to go to the back or side where there was room cause she couldn’t handle her own being up there and she didn’t listen she just wanted to be close to the stage. She could have died too which was annoying. At the end of the night there was like 20 random shoes on the floor. He was even nervous and bounced early one time. His fans are nuts and security can only do so much even if there were 5xs as many.

Seriously, the solution is so mind-bogglingly simple. Both the artist and the venue KNOW how to prevent this. All they had to do was set up assigned rows of seats on the floor. But no... they wanted MORE MONEY. You can fit more people (ie: sell more tickets) if you only have standing-room on the floor.
Pretty sure everyone involved in this production knew full well that they were creating a serious risk to the concert-goers. But as long as the money was rolling in... they simply didn't care.

I've been in a crowd surge at a concert back in the 80s. At the time I was 6'2" and weighed in at 200 lbs. I was picked up off the ground, squeezed, and moved. I had no control and it was an effort not to panic. That was many years ago and I'll never forget the feeling of helplessness.👍✌

Also, in August he jumped in the crowd and while body surfing told the audience to beat up a 10 yr. old child who Travis accused of trying to take his shoe.
