@@tonyfro23 indeed! Back then they may have used a bit of reverb, but the rest was just balancing the volume in a mix. Very minimal post processing. I wish we would go back to that. All the top songs today are not really songs- they are computer generated drum tracks and synth hooks on repeat for 2 minutes with layered processed human vocals carrying a 2 bar repeating melody. In this day and age, you don't even need musicians anymore.
I have listened to this friggin’ song like 100’s of times, and it still brings tears to my eyes. So amazingly beautiful performance. Extremely talented.
Live performance. No auto tunes. No second take. His parents were in the audience and he had a cold. RIP Bobby Hatfield. He passed away in 2003. A few weeks after The Righteous Brothers were inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame.
Absolutely the best version of this beautiful classic tune imo. No modern magic tricks here just pure talent. Unfortunately a lot of today's artist hide behind technology. 🤘
This song has been recorded over 700 times by many artists, and no one can even come close to Bobby Hatfield !!!!! He is simply perfect in his performance!!!! Thank you for your recognition!!!!!
Bobby Hatfield did this long before Elvis did. Bobby died at age 63 in a hotel room while on tour with Bill Medley, the other Righteous Brother. He never did the show. This was in Kalamazoo MI in 2003. only 50 minutes from my house! Almost had bought tickets to show. I was a school music teacher, grew up on this music, and cried when I heard the news the next morning. Bobby's parents were in the audience on the TV show here, his mom had never seen him sing professionally. He nailed this performance for her. You won't hear these high nots on the record. This is 10 times better than the studio recording he did. This song belongs to Bobby forever now.
No auto tune no pitch correct just plain talent. I was fortunate to see Bobby do this at the old Academy of Music in NYC back in the 70’s. He was incredible!
Not only was Bobby Hatfield magnificent singing this song, but the whole production was amazing, from the perfect performance by the musicians, to the expert camera and sound work, and the attractive setting. Just an awesome moment in time that we are lucky enough to be able to enjoy as often as we like. Not to mention getting to enjoy the fresh reactions of the young people who are just now experiencing the majesty of the moment for themselves.
I was a teenager back when this song first came out. Everybody loved it back then... So much diverse and original music was created back then. This song is timeless, still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it . I'm happy to see young folks enjoying this music today.
The late Bobby Hatfield! I was 15 yrs old when I watched him sing this beautiful song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. No one sang it better than Bobby! No auto tunes, just pure raw talent. RIP Bobby! We miss your beautiful voice. ❤️ ❤❤
Fun fact, his momma was in the audience during this performance, it must have been one of the proudest moments in that woman's life. Rest with the angels Bill.
The song was written in 1955, for a movie titled "Unchained." Elvis and a whole bunch of other vocalists have covered it, but this version by Bobby Hatfield is widely considered to be the best.
You were blushing, don't worry you are not alone, Bobby had that effect on mostly all women that watched him sing this. Welcome to ..." THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS".
Live performance, on TV, in front of an audience, and no autotone. I noticed when he smiled, you smiled also, this your lesson for the day. The audience will connect with you on stage. The ability to emote towards your audience is necessary in any genre. Thanks for your reaction.
You mentioned Elvis. Consider this: anyone you may know who recorded this were just covering this. It is universally considered the best even though it was a cover of a lesser hit. For a man to stand there with a wired microphone long before Autotune was thought of and was not produced in a studio with the best equipment available in 65. This was pure talent. At the end, he simply smiles instead of gasping for breath.
M - This is one of the best love songs ever recorded in the English language. Your mother's generation also blushed when they heard it...and your grandmothers'...and your great grandmothers'. And...it will have the same effect for generations to come. It was written for the 1955 movie "Unchained." The movie flopped, but this song has been covered countless times, including by Elvis. A music database (mention of which causes YT to delete my posts) lists almost 600 recorded versions. Many great singers have recorded "Unchained Melody," but this version by Bobby Hatfield (one-half of The Righteous Brothers) is widely acknowledged to be the best!
The most played song in recording history !! Love your reaction. Your eyes told the whole story. Bobby's first high note stopped you in your tracks and your eyes were rivoted on him for the rest of the song !! Love you...
Best version hands down of this classic song. Absolutely loved the Righteous Brothers. Sadly we lost Bobby Hatfield about 20 years ago. He had a beautiful one of a kind voice. Home Free recently did a great version of this song. And Austin Brown (from HF) also did a very beautiful tribute of this song a couple of years ago.
You most likely heard the studio version of Unchained Melody in the movie, "Ghost". Untold millions of women have "blushed" and fallen in love when they heard Bobby Hatfield singing this song so perfectly. I only recently heard that he suffered from extreme stage fright and would throw up violently before going on stage. He was only 25 at the time this film clip from their appearance on The Andy Williams Show was made and he was suffering from an upper respiratory infection; if you see the full cut of the video with Andy chatting with them in between songs, Bobby is huffing & puffing like he just ran a lap around the parking lot. His mother was also on the audience and he was even more nervous, afraid that he might disappoint her. He didn't disappoint her or any female on the planet!
He was 23 years old in 1964. His parents were in the audience. He had a bad cold the night of his performance. He said later that he was nervous because he didn’t think that he would be able to sing his best because of his cold. At the very end of his song he bites his lip and looks down and smiles. He’s looking at his mom.
Hello Ms. Millie, I'm glad you had the opportunity to hear this live version of Bobby's Song. This is the definitive cover version of this music. All others pale in comparison. So far.
And that toung lady is how its done....my father and my mother used to dance to this song...since my ma passed in 2020 when i hear this brings tears...cheers from a 58 yr old old school metalhead kandas city..
The touching performance of Elvis Presley singing Unchained Melody is part of the concert he held in Rapid City, South Dakota, on June 21, 1977, about two months before his death.
Yes you were right Elvis did sing this song 12 years after Bobby Hatfield and did a wonderful job. Bobby's was the Gold Standard for all to follow and no one has surpassed Bobby's vocals to this day. It's a Timeless Masterpiece
One of the oddest song histories. This "classic love song" was actually written as the opening score of a completely forgotten and totally forgetable prison-break "B- movie" titled "Unchained"
Bobby's Voice was a one of a kind instrument That could only be played by him . But im so glad i lived in a time to hear it. Imagine the poor souls that had to go through Life without it
This is the original song by the original artist. It's been covered over 600 times. It was the song in the movie Ghost. No Auto tune. Just pure vocals.....
...and a Beautiful Reaction!!! Love your Reaction! EXACTLY like so many of us have felt while watching this INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE. YES...words don't seem to be available to express the emotions this performance brings.
I love watching reactions to this performance. Over the space of 5mins, you see women (and some men) fall head over heels in love with Bobby Hatfield's amazing voice
This song was featured in the movie "Ghost" starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. Amazing song and movie! You have fabulous reactions to songs. I subscribed to your channel. Greetings from Georgia!
He sang this song back in 1965. No autotune or computer assistance to improve his voice. This is what pure talent looks like. You may want to listen to Tom Jones sing from back in the day (1960's) as well. Delilah and I Will Never Fall in Love Again comes to mind. I think you would enjoy them.
Bill Medley (the other Righteous brother) was asked why he let Bobby do this as a solo. His response " Because I didn't know it was gonna be such a hit"
eeuu tiene tantos genios , esta es una cancion digna de los dioses, pero como no se vendieron tantos albun, entoncs esta eclipsado por los mas populares.
You may have heard this song if you ever have seen the movie "Ghost", with Patrick Swayzee, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg. This song is playing in the famous "potters wheel" scene. Also, Elvis did a cover, as well.
You saw/heard it it in the movie "Ghost" and yeas of course it rocked your world! (and just as an asider.. his mother was in the audience the night this was recorded. He loved his momma!) And one of the most romantic songs ever recorded.. now go with 'Black and White" night with Roy Orbison.
Happy (and sad) to say that I saw this when it was first broadcast. Having been brought up at the time and in the way I was, love songs have always meant a lot to me.... believing in unconditional love and friendship. That said, over the years it's done me more harm than good.... never married, no kids. It is what it is. Millie, I hope you one day find someone who makes you feels the same way this song does, and may it last a lifetime.
Millie, I first watched and listen to these musical giants way back in the 1960's... They are/were great. Millions of women swooned over them and their music..... They did a LOVE songs like NO others Keep in mind this was live, Bobbies mother and sister were there. He said that made him nervous. After watching this, you would never know he was nervous . A heads up, watch for the lip bite at the end!

Song used in the movie Ghost. Elvis sang it.
@MillieMochiTunes. You are so awesome and beautiful. Keep doing what you’re doing and reacting to this amazing music. Love you girl.
You're adorable
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what actual talent sounds like. No gimmicks, just a man and his microphone.
Recorded LIVE no auto tune existed thank God!!!!!!

Absolutely, what a voice.
@@daveloboda1769 And, his mother was in the first few rows for the first time ever at one of their shows...no pressure!
You forget just how moving, poetic and timeless this song is until it takes your breath away again.
No Auto tune, no pro tools, just smooth as silk real talent. Not many singers have this skill any more. Bill Medley was just as talented.
Just as many as ever did. Why would anyone think otherwise?
Don't people ever get tired of posting this exact same comment on every reaction video
Not Bill Medley, but Bobby Hatfield!
@@fucker661 Don't think so.
They played this video at Bobby's funeral. A wonderful tribute to an amazing talent.
This song is a timeless classic for a reason. This man could take a microphone and women would just swoon.
“I feel like I’m in love.”
Basically the sentiment of every woman from 9-99, who ever listened to this version in their entire life. 👍
I fell in love at 7 watching this on tv in 1965. ❤❤❤
This IS thebest version. Period.
The greatest performance in history .

I saw them live 18 times! Had to follow them as they were singers, performers and entertainers

That little bite of his lower lip was charming.
The most romantic song ever written, and arguably the "only" version that ever needed to be performed. My heart. Thank you for sharing your reaction!
Rejoice, for Millie has brought back that loving feeling to the world once again.
Note how he bites hit lips and smiles at the end -- he nailed it, and knows he did!
I love at the end when he bites his lip and flashes that smile 😊. He knew he knocked it out the park.
The best of blue-eyed soul!
Classic and timeless, it will just never go out of style.
The definition of a serenade for the ladies.

Perfect. You KNOW why you’re blushing.
I saw this live TV appearance on Any Williams show when it happened. I was 14. Did not know about his pink jacket as we had a black and white TV

Every time I hear Bobby Hatfield sing "Unchained Melody" I am blown away! Such a great voice, great talent and song!

The touching performance of Elvis Presley singing Unchained Melody is part of the concert he held in Rapid City, South Dakota, on June 21, 1977, about two months before his death.
Elvis made a stab at this song; Bobby Hatfield owned it. No comparison.
This performance was the first time that Bobby Hadfield had sung in front of his mother who was in the audience on that night.
That 1st..."I need your love" is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I become a puddle. Love him!!!

I can imagine a soldier in Vietnam in 1965 writing these words to his girlfriend back home.
"Ghost" was one of the movies this was used in. And a great movie it is.
Completely live and with no autotuning.
And as cool and calm as if he's waiting in line for an ice cream cone

Its an UNCHAINED MELODY..so the emotions are free.
Bill Medley (the other Righteous brother) was asked why he let Bobby do this as a solo. His response " Because I didn't know it was gonna be such a hit"
Love your music from the Limesublimes.
You were very nearly swooning for Bobby.
Yes this song is one of the most beautiful songs. But you are so much more beautiful.❤️🔥👫❤️🔥
Such a great song
I have grown up with this and am still awe struck with it!
Yess.
This song resulted in a lot of unplanned families in the 60s
Bobby Hatfield sang this original song back in 1965. Elvis sang it in 1977, the year that he died.
This song was the main theme song in the movie 'the Ghost', with Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg, late '80 or early '90. Good movie.

We'll call you the Righteous Sister.
Sometimes I think these reactors could give a better reaction if they would just be quiet and listen instead of putting on a show of their own.
The studio version was featured in the movie "Ghost" during the famous pottery scene.
You may have heard this song if you ever have seen the movie "Ghost", with Patrick Swayzee, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg. This song is playing in the famous "potters wheel" scene. Also, Elvis did a cover, as well.
Bobby Hatfield nailed it. Just killed it. This song is rightly referred to as a panty dropper. Makes the ladies swoon.
