I didn’t realize until I was doing my research on the movie, that director Osgood Perkins is the son of Anthony Perkins from Psycho. Cool bit of movie trivia.

I was so hyped for this but man it didn’t do much for me. I liked it but it just wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. Many horror movie reviewers said it was disturbing and scary but it wasn’t any of that. Hereditary was way better in terms of disturbing .

I really enjoyed the movie despite having one of the worst movie theater crowds ever. Every young person laughing and making dumb comments on Nic Cages performance and constant comments being yelled about the characters and the plot. I will have to see it again to fully enjoy it since peoples comments truly took me out of the movie, mainly in Nic Cage's moments.

I've seen a lot of criticism for Maika Monroe and I don't get it. Her lethargic performance is exactly what was required of her. I love how much her energy contrasts Cage's.
I enjoyed Longlegs quite a bit. Unlike MaXXXine, the hype surrounding this one is earned.

Been looking forward to this one for a while so glad to hear that it sounds pretty solid. I would definitely recommend checking out The Blackcoat's Daughter, James-- kind of reminiscent of creepy 70s horror in a good way. I liked Gretel and Hansel but IMO Blackcoat's Daughter is Perkins' best to date.
Btw did you beat Shadow of the Erdtree yet? If so, what did you make of the final boss etc? Just about to start my second venture into the DLC. Hopefully I can avoid cocking up a couple of the NPC quest lines I bungled by getting to the Shadow Keep too early the first go round.

To me, it LOOKED like a masterpiece. I kinda wish Perkins would've played with the dreamy (more like nightmarish) qualities a little more. The "Silence of the Lambs" procedural was when it was at its weakest, in my opinion, though there were good shocks, great atmosphere, and Nicolas Cage was unforgettably creepy. I agree though, I'd like to see it again. There's too much to love, so I can't help but feel as though I missed something more so than the film.

I really liked the atmosphere, the cinematography, the sound design, and Maika Monroe and Alicia Witt's performances. Perkins did a terrific job evoking a sense of dread. Ultimately, though, LONGLEGS didn't work very well for me. I didn't buy what Nicolas Cage was selling *at all.* The prosthetics just called more attention to the fact that it was Nic Cage inside them, going way, way, way over the top. I pirated it, so I watched it once, and I didn't feel like I watched anything. I watched it again and decided it was ok. On the third viewing, I made up my mind. As a whole, I don't like it. As parts I do like it but those parts need connected together better.
I think Nope is a bad movie, but I love the charcters and their interactions. Especially the sister she's a real character. Shes so natural, like when they are shopping and out of nowhere, she tells a lady she looks pretty. I know people like them. Everything else sucks. Especially the parachute thing eating people. It's awful as a Sci Fi movie, but as a character study, it's genius.
The shame is he could put them all together in a good movie and have a hit, but he won't because he thinks he's a genius.
