I feel like I saw a legitimate research paper on this kind of thing but tested in traditional sports, if I can remember I'll find the paper, but the short story was something along the lines of the disconnect from doing the same thing with a variable change and getting a different outcome makes your brain focus and adjust stronger to the stimuli to correct things back towards the normal. I forget if there were long term gains but I think just knowing this part of things is already really useful and applicable across a ton of different situations.
its funny you say this because i am an extremely good player in another game, and i feel like even though its something completely else that when i go from 100 fov to 85, the first few days im god like and i shit you not my flicks are on point. and then i get bad and then i have to go back to 100 and its same story over again i need to keep doing this because i feel like my muscle memory is alot more accurate this way well i dont feel like it, it really is.
my take is, the ai gave some general good tips, but the result is something i noticed a lot of times, when you raise a lot your sens, at the beggining feels uncomfortable and unaccurate, the interesant comes when you lower the sensivity, now feels great and you are sharper, but the next day will not be the same, the "honeymoon" ends unless you repeat the proccess, which is annoying if you want to just "plug and play", the thing i realized with all of this, no matter what, you re gaining control over your mice wich is positive and with the past of the years will be useful and you will see results, my advice, use different sens depending on the game, ur playstyle, or the type of projectile(its not the same shooting rockets as shooting with a rifle or a beam)
All i do well used to do was play around with settings and sens, once you are a master the sens you end up the best at with hours and hours of troubleshooting there is no feeling like it, also finding the best fov for you is the hardest thing i’ve found but finally got mine the other day. Most people if not everyone doesn’t have the time to change it so often and mess around so much but the thing i love about it is the more you change and the more frequently the better you get with any sensitivity. The real secret is not resting your wrist or arm on anything
For what I found from other top players, their dpi goes maximum 800 all the way down to 300, with that in mind they have a greater fine tuning in game, I am at 4.0 sens on 400 dpi, I also have my sensitivity per optic starting at 0.5 in 1x and increase 0.2 as it goes up so 2x is 0.7 4x is 0.9 and so on...
higher dpi will make micro adjustments easier. Its quite literally the resolution at which the mouse sees. A higher dpi means the mouse will pick up more information whilst moving.
That are very unique settings. Not sure why you play like that. But it's preference I guess 🤷♂️ what really doesn't make sense is playing on a low dpi if you don't have to. Just use 800 dpi and 2.0 sense. It is the "same" as 400 dpi and 4.0 sense. The distance you have to move your mouse is the same. But your mouse sends the double amount of data during every movement, making you more accurate.
if you can put some time to do the calculations and make your ingame sens lower and dpi higher, it will make for faster armor swaps and lesser input lag, I can only provide my anecdotal evidence of it helped alot in tough situations while keeping my aim the same. Give it a crack and let us know.
Oh wow I didn't know. Since CSGO I always use 400 dpi with 3366 sensor mouse because that time there is some accuracy issue with higher dpi. Ever since then I never bother with it on all games. I play on 1600x900 at 280hz settings. Sometimes I use 1080p at 280 hz
actually I think to remember a chart about many predators running between 2 and 2.5 sens ingame, but idk the dpi, probably thats why it was the first recommendation
I have found that i sometime accidentally bump up my dpi without noticing and go ultra instinct. Most the time it just makes me throw the game though 😂
I play on 800 dpi with the 0.65 sens. I know - it’s really low. But it honestly feels like I’m playing in roller it’s so smooth, and I still have movement because I have around 2x3 feet of usable mouse bad.

I have also tried a bunch of popular shapes, and the trend seems to be lightweight ambidextrous mice with relatively straight sides. My issue with these shapes is that the straight sides make pulling the mouse into my hand more difficult, reducing my control. G303 SE sides that become more narrow toward the front, and narrower from the top to the feet of the mouse which makes a claw style grip feel extremely secure.

@@StruthGaming My default position is a very low chair. This has obviously made my range of motion really poor and it limited my aim. I unfortunately dont have an arm sleeve so I tried using sweaters or going with my bare skin and both yielded the same result. Not sure if you've seen it yet, but this video covers how to get into your optimal position - ua-cam.com/video/locnPgVvRio/v-deo.html As for the arm, there's a quick way to determine if you'd benefit from a sleeve. If this suddenly fixes the problem, you could use a sleeve so save some effort and provide a bit more comfort.
people talking about hipfire sens in apex as if it not the most irrelevant thing in the universe, you gotta look at ads 1.0 at lest which is quite a bit slower
ChatGPT is weird when it comes to that stuff. Dunno if its the biased behind the scenes 'programming' but it refused to give me anything for Hunt:Showdown. That game has some weird sensitivity issues, it has different FOV for different states of ADS and types of guns so sens is all over the damn place. Someone made a calc and its OK for the different FOV's, but I can't get the "default" sense (no ADS) right using any of the other calcs... Also seems like they dumbed it down or something, I just tried asking what gun I should play next and it refused...
Ha, I asked the same question as you. Nothing specific that I didn't already know. It basically is not giving me any kind of answer that I haven't used myself over the years of playing. I am kind of surprised it actually gave you the answer it did. I asked it the same question but with Battlefield 4 as the game. This is what it said. Sure! As a general rule of thumb, a good starting point for in-game sensitivity in Battlefield 4 with a 400 DPI mouse is between 10-15%. This range can be adjusted up or down depending on your personal preference and play style. Here are some guidelines to help you find your perfect in-game sensitivity: Start with a low sensitivity: As mentioned, a low sensitivity is generally a good starting point to help you maintain accuracy and precision in the game. You can start with an in-game sensitivity of around 10-15% and make adjustments from there. Test your aim and movement: Take some time to practice your aim and movement with the low sensitivity. Try moving around the map and aiming at targets to get a feel for how the sensitivity affects your gameplay. Adjust your sensitivity gradually: Instead of making big changes all at once, adjust your sensitivity gradually, by 5-10% at a time, until you find the setting that feels right for you. Consider your equipment: Keep in mind that the sensitivity that works best for you can depend on your equipment. If you have a large mousepad and a gaming mouse with a high DPI, you may be able to use a higher sensitivity setting. Conversely, if you have a smaller mousepad or a mouse with a lower DPI, a lower sensitivity may be more appropriate. Ultimately, the best sensitivity for you is the one that feels comfortable and allows you to play at your best. Keep practicing and experimenting with different sensitivity settings until you find the one that works for you.
Interesting, so 12.5% is a 42cm recommendation, with pretty big jumps (5-10%). Something else interesting there is the way it says 'higher sensitivity' when meaning lower cm/360 and vica versa. For that exact reason I used the terms slower/faster instead of lower/higher in my video as I thought it may get confused otherwise.
@@StruthGaming yea that was bass backwards with the mouse pad size. It should have told me bigger tha pad the lower tha sense, and the smaller tha pad the higher tha sense.
Could you please do a video on how to properly aim with projectile heroes in Overwatch, especially Hanzo? I've watched your old videos and you mention that if you check where your crosshair is after moving to the target, it will take double your reaction time to fire. But with Hanzo, since you need to predict where the target will be I'm not too sure what's the most optimal way to approach this. Do we focus on target and read them then flick and predict at the same time? Your videos have been awesome! Keep it up! :)
Right now this is my Hanzo aiming process: 1. Find target (1 reaction time) 2. Moving crosshair to where I think they will go and confirm that crosshair is at the right height for headshot due to bullet drop (2 reaction time) 3. Fire As you can see, it takes quite a long time from acquiring target to firing. I understand that if I just choose to shoot at unaware targets it will be easier, but I'm trying to improve my "raw" Hanzo aim if that makes any sense. Thanks!
Good idea, hitscan is the obvious go-to with aiming content but faster projectiles like Hanzo can be quite interesting too. I recall Arrge having quite a unique aim style on Hanzo so I might start there and see what's up.
@@StruthGaming Arrge's guides are great, they teach good target selection and positioning. However, I'm really interested to see your breakdown of Hanzo's optimal aiming process just like you did with Cassidy. On a side note, when flicking with Cassidy is it better to try to stop your crosshair on the target or draw a line past your target and just timing the click at the right time?
@@XiaoLongBao-pr7ve it's pretty much best to do like micro-flicks back to the target after every hit. he's about doing big bursts of damage that can't really be outhealed so it's best that you can land as many shots on target as quickly as possible
Struth I enjoyed this, particularly as I'm working on a similar (not the same) sort of video. I was surprised to hear you play Apex on 0.85 sens!! holy moly thats low, I've been through a similar realisation recently (I normally play on 1-1.2 at 800 dpi) that you can learn a higher sens if you give it enough time, I'm now playing on 1.6 at 800 dpi. Great stuff I really enjoyed this one.
Thank you! That was sort of the problem that prompted me to make this video. When my aim doesn't feel right I usually just play lower for the guaranteed good aim (but lower skill ceiling), but now that I'm spending more time on FPS content I wanted to play closer to my potential and shake off some rust.
@Struth Gaming it's strangely exciting playing on higher sens too, I find. Had a blast playing on 2.0 at 800 dpi the last week, although my results were inconsistent, it was so fun 🤣 Now I've dropped it back to 1.6 at 800 dpi it feels even better than it did before my (2.0 at 800 dpi) experiment.
Imo unless you're going from completely different game to completely different game with different objectives in aiming, you should just convert raw cm to raw cm. You're trading off getting used to the feel for getting used to new muscle memory and imo muscle memory is more important. Sure the new game will feel like your old sens at first, but you're going to have to retrain your fine motor muscles to a completely new speed. Those muscles are much harder to train than training your brain to adjust to the new feel of the game. You'll realize that even though you're used to the new sensitivity in the game you're playing, you're going to start seeing small inconsistencies that you never used to have. You have spent hundreds if not thousands of hours training to be very accurate with those small movements and unless you're completely changing your sens to something very different, you're going to perform better on what you're used to.
None of that is true with aiming because aim is not affected by muscle memory, only patterns like recoil are. Changing your sens helps more than it hurts.
@@kennyulr3352 you don't understand muscle memory then. The muscle memory is literally you moving your hand a certain way and the screen responds in a certain way. Changing your sens changes that relationship and changes the muscle memory.
what is in your opinion better struth? 35cm in kovaaks and 28cm in apex or 35cm in kovaaks as well as apex? or should i use 28cm in kovaaks and 35cm in apex?
The annoying answer is whichever you play better on. As for KovaaK's, I usually just use the same sensitivity, but there's merit in using a higher sensitivity for your aim training to better develop mouse control.
1.2 Apex Legends sense 4.0 Overwatch sense 800 DPI Razer Deathadder Elite. This and many hours got me to top 500 in Overwatch. Never got the game sense enough for Apex Legends, but I did end up platinum there. For me personally changing my sense would be a death sentence to my muscle memory so I am really scared of trying out new things. Been watching your videos lately and I love them, also your aim in general is nuts.
Bro how can we use the converting method. The vocal scaling is there any apps or sites. Like i didn't find any thing . Plz bro is there any way to calculate it
It is unfortunately quite complicated to do manually, I wrote up a guide a while back here - themeta.com/converting-sensitivity-between-fovs-focal-length-scaling/ I personally use mouse-sensitivity.com for focal length scaling conversions but it is a paid service.
Unfortunately, with great difficulty. I wrote up a free manual method here - themeta.com/converting-sensitivity-between-fovs-focal-length-scaling/ If the games use the same FOV scale then it's a simple equation you can plug your settings into, but when the FOV scales are different you have to do some work to match them up first. www.mouse-sensitivity.com/ Has a calculator for focal length scaling (0% monitor match) but it's a paid feature. Perhaps there's a free calculator that can do this out there now but i'm not aware of it.
Idk I have bounced around on sens alot in game(apex spedific not really on a tac fps) I feel pretty good on a higher-ish sens like 27-35 cm rang. But when i plug it into any aimtrainer I still outperform it by quite big margin on a lower sens like 40-45 cm.
I'm the same, I think it mostly comes down to not having to move in most scenarios. If I only play aim trainers for a few days with the intention of finding a new sens, I always end up on something quite low that performs ridiculously well in KovaaK's, but then I take it into a game like Apex and it's just too slow.
There's also a factor than people often forget. It's called lazy aim. You might technically have better accuracy with a lower sens, but it's actually too low for everyday use. You end up not moving your mouse as often and as much as you should I every moment. It hinders your movement and your spatial awareness. There's a guy that spoke about this, an overwatch player I believe.
You went from 5cm to 38cm which is an enormous jump. Might find more success with a smaller increase like trying 20cm (2.9 in-game) and adjusting from there.
There's nothing wrong with changing settings, grips, techniques etc. But there needs to be some direction. Don't just look at performance, but really think about how your sensitivity feels, and when you change it, how did that feeling change? Over time this should give you a much better idea of what impact changing your settings will actually have. In this video, and the week~ before filming it, I knew my sensitivity felt too low for tracking closer ranged targets. I could literally feel that I had to move my mouse too much when aiming at these targets, but if I increased my sens (from .75-.85 to .95-1.2~) it just felt unsteady. So I knew it needed to be higher, but higher also needed to feel more comfortable. A great way to do that is to play on the other extreme, so playing on a very high sens like at the start of this video then made settings around .95-1.2 that were previously too unsteady, actually feel comfortable.
I think you lack a good team to play competitive with which is your main issue, because why become a good player? It feels like a waste of time, right? Here's my result of the endless pursuit of the perfect aim, mouse acceleration, you get the best of both worlds of low sense accuracy and high sens turn and manouvering. If you stick with it over time you will learn the acceleration where it takes a little longer to master, but when it is done, you can jump in after a long time and still be good after a short time. If someone never seem to find their "best mouse setting", the acceleration is definitly the way to go.
I played on all ranges of cm/360. from 1cm up to 250cm. Be it Tac shooters or fast paced like apex or COD/Battlefield (yes even on the 250cm one) I am at a point where I am good with almost all of them, ranging from 9cm to 115cm/360, I can do very well and it doesnt impact my aim that much. So, do you have any tips for that then? ;)

Keep it up! :)
Right now this is my Hanzo aiming process:
1. Find target (1 reaction time)
2. Moving crosshair to where I think they will go and confirm that crosshair is at the right height for headshot due to bullet drop (2 reaction time)
3. Fire
As you can see, it takes quite a long time from acquiring target to firing.
I prefer stopping the crosshair on the target, drawing a line over them and clicking at the right time is more of a controller thing.
what cm/360 do think is great for everything like static/tracking/switching etc
Something around 40cm is a really safe bet for just about any game. On really high FOV, may want to bump that down to something around 35cm.
@@StruthGaming Now can this AI pick a perfect mouse sensor rotation? I know the aimlab mouse is capable of this.
@@StruthGaming okay I'll try 40 for a while
@@DevonIsMad Didn't know their mouse could do that. So cool, hope we see more mice with that option.
@@StruthGaming i use RawAccel for sensor rotation, i thought it was a weird gimmick thing but it makes a difference if u get it right
can you make a detailed video on how to make that sensitivity conversion using the FOV stuff?
Holy moly. Now I’m tempted to try this myself. Idk if this is gonna be shameless or not, but do you have a link to the chat bot you used?
What is the best for alc 2 2 3
Had a blast playing on 2.0 at 800 dpi the last week, although my results were inconsistent, it was so fun 🤣
Now I've dropped it back to 1.6 at 800 dpi it feels even better than it did before my (2.0 at 800 dpi) experiment.
What ads are you using?
the ai basically told you to play like skittlecakes 🤣
what is in your opinion better struth?
35cm in kovaaks and 28cm in apex or 35cm in kovaaks as well as apex? or should i use 28cm in kovaaks and 35cm in apex?
The annoying answer is whichever you play better on. As for KovaaK's, I usually just use the same sensitivity, but there's merit in using a higher sensitivity for your aim training to better develop mouse control.
Can I use this for controller?
What about doing 2400dpi @ 0.5? Or 4800dpi @ 0.25?
Finally Someone Has Roblox Arsenal Clip in Aim Helping Video Let's goooo
1.2 Apex Legends sense

Razer Deathadder Elite. This and many hours got me to top 500 in Overwatch. Never got the game sense enough for Apex Legends, but I did end up platinum there. For me personally changing my sense would be a death sentence to my muscle memory so I am really scared of trying out new things. Been watching your videos lately and I love them, also your aim in general is nuts.
hello , how do u think paw 3370 is a good sensor ?)

Bro how can we use the converting method. The vocal scaling is there any apps or sites. Like i didn't find any thing . Plz bro is there any way to calculate it
It is unfortunately quite complicated to do manually, I wrote up a guide a while back here - themeta.com/converting-sensitivity-between-fovs-focal-length-scaling/
I personally use mouse-sensitivity.com for focal length scaling conversions but it is a paid service.
I use 4, 400 DPI for Apex and I drop 5-10 kills most games
how do i convert my sens from ow to apex with your method?
Unfortunately, with great difficulty. I wrote up a free manual method here - themeta.com/converting-sensitivity-between-fovs-focal-length-scaling/
If the games use the same FOV scale then it's a simple equation you can plug your settings into, but when the FOV scales are different you have to do some work to match them up first.
www.mouse-sensitivity.com/ Has a calculator for focal length scaling (0% monitor match) but it's a paid feature. Perhaps there's a free calculator that can do this out there now but i'm not aware of it.
i used to use 1800dpi on 5. Now 2.5 1800dpi
ChatGBP based for recommending high sens🤙
I felt a little betrayed by that first 2.5 suggestion tbh. Low sens gang.
Cant wait for Waldo vision.
Sounds good. Yet me here, playing apex with 800dpi with 0.86 sens
There's a guy that spoke about this, an overwatch player I believe.
lowered my sens from 2400/10 to 2400/1.5 on overwatch and i can't hit a single shot anymore.. how is lower sens supposed to help?
You went from 5cm to 38cm which is an enormous jump. Might find more success with a smaller increase like trying 20cm (2.9 in-game) and adjusting from there.
@@StruthGaming yeah i'm trying to transition from wrist to hybrid aiming and after a couple hours on 2.0 this feels good
That's great to hear, let me know if you have any more questions :)
a good way to train it? specifically for OW

45-50cm !? Are you polishing vehicle fender? 😏
Hello ! I really struggle finding my best sens and the best mousegrip and aimstyle for me. I keep changing my sens 5 times a day …
There's nothing wrong with changing settings, grips, techniques etc.
A great way to do that is to play on the other extreme, so playing on a very high sens like at the start of this video then made settings around .95-1.2 that were previously too unsteady, actually feel comfortable.
i set up 1200 dpi fov 110 and sens 1, i am tracking machine now! rly)

@@StruthGaming ah got u, cool experiment tho, i like it :) hope ur apex is going well!
I run 2.5 on a 5k dpi
Be it Tac shooters or fast paced like apex or COD/Battlefield (yes even on the 250cm one)
I am at a point where I am good with almost all of them, ranging from 9cm to 115cm/360, I can do very well and it doesnt impact my aim that much.
So, do you have any tips for that then? ;)
Bruh it gave me 0.08 for 400DPI like what?
Lmao, that's like 1000 cm/360 or something. Good luck :)
