I throw the rapala shadow rap. Most of the lakes I fish are only 4’ deep. So the shadow rap on 14lb line allows me to reach mid column and it’ll suspend or slow slow slow sink. I missed the jerkbait bite this spring. It was picking up and then the weather went wonky. Then the warm weather came quick and the lily pads went crazy making it tough to throw.

Tossed a Big Bite Baits Dean Rojas Warmouth in pumpkin seed, and caught my 1st largemouth 3.89 lbs.
Jerkin is my favorite lol idk why but just really came natural to me . 1st jerk fish was damn near a minnow, next cast 5lber and I was hooked. Idk it catches everything from lil guys to big ol ditch pickles . Best jerk fish is 7.5lber I might had a lil bigger but no scale that day so it doesn't count . Well least as bragging rights lol only con is it kinda sucks unhooking the lil guys without pliers lol it just feels sketchy as hell.

Im not a huge fan of my tatula 100s. I have two both have the same cons. Hard spool realese, noisy gears even after good cleaning oiled and greased. Not the smoothest during retrieve. But they do cast well, have a solid frame and a great breaking system.

We had lots of wind here in WI that blew down my smoker and grill now i have to spend time cleaning the yard before i go fishing
aside from that I have a few jerk baits i want to try out this year that I picked up i have a shiny silvery shad 4" that I want to toss and a darker almost bruised shad that my neighbor gave me to use. Ill send you picts when the feesh eat it 😀

Pretty sure that was a white bass bro. Hybrid white bass, hybrid bass, aka wiper have broken stripes on the bottom stripes. Hybrids also have more prominent dark solid lines on the upper body. White bass lines tend to be more thin straight and no broken areas in the lines.

Yeah I have a Lew’s custom tournament lite as my top water/froggin setup. Key thing is that its light for walking the dog and it casts a mile. So throwing a buzzbait especially with that 7:5:1 gear its the best of both worlds too! This reel is great for a jerkbait too as you’ve shown in the vid!

Hello! Debo's. Picked up two OzarkTrail two treble hook Jerkbaits. I bank fish always. So 3 treble hook KVD Jerkbaits are out of the question. When you reel from the bank. You run into bank. While still Jerking the bait. Also 7 ft rod is too long. I go with a medium 6'6 spinning combo 3500 spin reel size. 15 pd braid. Just in case your PB comes along. Great video. Shawn from Indiana.

This past winter I made my own jerkbaits. I've been getting largemouth and smallmouth on a light purple lure that I made. It was a blast I was the only one in the boat catching fish. I do believe Debo I sent you one a month ago. Thanks for another great video keep on fishing when I'm out again and I'm catching fish on my jerkbaits I'll send you some photos
