My square bill, jerkbait rod, is a 6'9" medium regular daiwa fuego with a 6.3.1 fuego ct and 12 lb fluorocarbon. Decided on the fuego after hearing ol' debo give a review on it.
I've really liked the Dobyns crankbait rods. I think they have a nice parabolic bend which helps keep fish pinned. I like pairing it with the DT series and then the hybrid hunter for shallow water.
I have that same tatula rod and absolutely love it for squrlbills I've really like the bill lewis ATV crank baits from shore there almost weedless never get hung up

That River is way deeper then the one I Fish lol but I’m still gonna try a small crank when you go out next time. I laugh every viDEBO you say “help me Tom Cruise”, gets me every time. - Should be an industry standard to include weight/depth on all baits’ paint schemes, we certainly pay enough for lures. - I need to target smallies this year, never have before.

Great video. I always forget to pack the dts when hitting current like that. I really want to order some dimes, but still rebuilding my terminal box after my box falling out of my backpack and into the drink. Buying terminal tackle isn’t as fun as baits. …. For cranking I’ve actually settled into the ark lancer pro / tour (6’9” MM - 7’2” MM) / Cobb series (century) They have a great moderate to mod fast action and all under $100 on sale. I tried a blended rod but it wasn’t for me with it being tip heavy and losing a little bit of sensitivity.

Well done sir. I just don't throw a lot of crankbaits. I don't know if it's a confidence thing or what. I just seem to do better with bladed baits and soft plastics. Thanks for the video.

With cranking I just try to find a slower rod that I can do a little bit of everything with. I’m a bank angler and I have an old 13 Fishing Fate Black that is actually lime green, it’s a 7’1 med fast and it’s soft enough to throw all of my cranks and be versatile to throw other lighter baits as well.

Im getting into micro hard baits you can catch all sorts of fish on them from sunfish to crappie to bass even sometimes walleye so pretty much anything and oh boy do i love the fight on ultra light
I use the slx mgl for cranking too, can spool it out with consistency.
Great video I use the SLX digital did not like it at first but it's definitely going to my favorite reel.
My lakes are too grassy, so I usually don't throw cranks! 😢

Love my 13 Fishing Cranking Rod with a Lews KVD reel . Throws lighter baits a mile ! The Strike King 1.5 is my go to crank . Bounces off cover great ( a Bomber Square A is a close second )
