Swapping and losing slice is mostly a YOU problem brother- Love your videos and you are an amazing player but you swap weapons compulsively oh and also Sever rounds! haha, great video and info looking forward to checking this one out since I have the best Sacred Provenance already.

Yeah looks like most of the weapons with this perk are locked in to special ammo roles, but keep an eye out for Lethal Abundance (360 Strand AR) when Iron Banner comes back around... it can roll Slice + Target Lock. The new trials Trace Rifle can get that roll as well, could be gnarly on swap builds.
As someone who also plays pve, I really wish this gave unraveling rounds instead of sever. Unraveling rounds are still pretty hard to proc

Is it? I felt like the fragment to get it on a melee kill was more than enough. Threaded Spike for Hunters for example can get kills even in GMs as well as the Grapple melee.
I just wish it was up longer. Feels awkward to use as an anti barrier option because of it.
@@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4 exactly, relying on a melee kill prior to stunning a barrier is not certain enough for me to run it, whereas on solar melee hits alone grant radiant
Use the sidearm. So fucking underrated. That unravels a lot
I think it takes time to actually apply the slice sever debuff so it used up multiple stacks with in 1 burst when trying to hit a single target. It can normally go for 5 separate targets on the slug. IDK.
The Iron Banner Auto rolls Slice and Collective Action. If you throw a glacier on behemoth and shatter it with your barricade, you do the following:
Activate Slice
Activate and extend collective action
Collect enough shards to guarantee an elemental charge proc, granting strand surge x2.
This all combines to give you 10-15 seconds of 5 tap potential, while being able to sever on hit as well, and all the abilities feed back into each other too.
This season specifically, shattering a large amount of crystals near someone can just outright kill them because of the artifact mods too, so that’s another plus to this.
Finally, if you really want to go crazy with this… Cadmus Ridge Lancecap *lies* about the stasis weapon requirement. If you run rally barricade instead (which you should be for maximum slice uptime), you can make diamond lances for landing just 3 headshots while behind your barricade.
I was already rocking this build last season with a dynamic sway collective action horror story instead of the IB auto that just dropped and was cooking before the stasis buffs. I can’t wait to get my hands on this buff to the build this season
I think the complete lack of telegraphing is what is gonna make it be very annoying. A dart you can see it coming and it will be usually coming directly from the guy you are dueling, who would be right in front of you stuck in the animation for a bit, but with this perk you might when severed across the map from some random dude at the back of the map with a pulse lol.

Slice works as if you sever one and kill the same guy you gain a higher sever stack, so you can sever more enemies, you can chain it 👍🏻
you could pair this with the strand hunter helmet and have woven mail making your enemies do less damage
zoom still gives you accuracy and recoil benefits just not damage falloff. still clunky in current meta not arguing those benefits aren’t essentially useless at the moment
Zoom also makes tracking harder close range not to mention having less aa close range as well, if you are on controller it doesnt really matter but on mnk zoom is the worst stat in the game so yeah...
I wish there was a primary weapon with switchable zoom (via weapon alt action). Revision Zero can do it, but it's zoomed mode is a sniper and requires playing the perk.

A tip for using it in checkmate a lot would be running a cult exotic with the class ability sect. Each time an ally goes down you get like 20-25% class ability back. Its the closest thing to ability spam in checkmate Ive found.

To take the most advantage of sluce while playing hunter, you can wear frostees for the most ability uptime
If you use clones alot something you can do to guarantee your threaded spike hits is to use it on your clone. It will break it and track to the enemy perfectly 99 percent of the time. Great to use around corners
On my placement series, i got a keep away moving target roll of this pulse, also I want to see you do some testing with the stasis classes with the buffs, Im enjoying the changes with stasis titan with the shiver strike slow
Got keep away moving target well, pretty nice but looking for a KC or headseeker pairing with keep away.
I got a keep away, zen moment, arrowhead, high call rounds and range masterwork.

So the thing with zoom is that it only doesn't increase the range, it still does things but people only see the loss of range and think "bad"

Combine this with Aeon and Acrobats Dodge. Every time a teammate dies you get class ability energy, dodge proc slice proc radiant, you have your class ability back. Profit.
Speaking of the Radiant Dodge idea, if you were to use a weapon with Incandescent (I.E. Beloved or double primary) or Knife trick and then Ember of Singeing you could potentially get a sort of super niche rhythm going where you dodge into Radiant and get into some fights then when you don't have the class ability you can scorch someone with an Incendiary Grenade or Incandescent to get it back up quicker.
4 burst are my favorite pulse archetype so I might actually play comp this season

Zoom does still benefit your aim assist and effective stability. It gives you all the “buffs” it always did still, just not the effective range drop off buff.
The tldr is I find it’s still useful on controller exactly for longer range pulses or autos.
I love threaded needle in those situations where your target just barely makes it to cover and then a fresh enemy teammate pops out to finish you off. Normally it's an all-too-common letdown but with that melee it's actually a good thing
Yo please try phyllotactic spiral with enhanced hip fire grip/headseeker. It lets to play a lot more aggressive with the hip fire while still having great range

Honestly I love this gun for its model. It's basically a juiced up version of the lyudmilla-D from Destiny 1... And yeah it has cracked stats and perks to boot.
I think this perk is really cool. I like the idea of of using debuffs more often in PvP. But we will have to see how good it is in the long run.
I ended up getting a keep away headseeker. Haven’t tried it so hopefully it feels nice .

Here me out the strand hunter helmet and navigator makes a grapple point then swap to any slice wepon
This gun has insane stats. With small bore, ricochet, elemental capacitor (void), 2nd perk, and fitted stock, counter balance mod: It has 99 range, 100 stability, and 100 recoil direction
Target lock is amazing on retrofit escapade with 4th times. Especially with pre nerf gyrfalcons
Iron banner auto that comes out next is a 360 with slice and target lock. Or slice and onslaught!!

It's a 4 burst whiffomatic at center mass. If you like outlining your target with holes in the wall, this is the gun for you.

Splice is good on that new strand shotty from the seasonal content, whatever it's called. Even better IMO for up close shotty work when you have to be more worried about them killing you before you them.

so this perk looks dope i use the navigator to give woven mail and to sever enemies having this in a legendary is so dope here hoping woven mail is a perk in the future but i hate PVP hence why i mainly play PVE content so me having to play PVP is gonna suck

Zoom does indeed give you benefits, it extends the aim assist and accuracy comes the same way it *used* to extend damage falloff, which can help make the gun feel better even outside of its “optimal” range
Also helps with stability
Hey wallah the new ar from iron banner can roll with slice as well it's a high impact but has good stats maybe it could be good (sadly it also has 19 zoom)

The new Iron Banner 360 auto is gonna be able to get slice and onslaught and I'm gunning for like 5 different rolls of that gun. Legit think Slice is gonna make arc dash titans nuts.
"Zoom provides no benefits" I think someone forgot that zoom has several benefits and decoupling range only removed ONE. Now I understand angular recoil/ accuracy/ stability bonuses might seem like nothing, but those ARE helping your shot on high zoom weapons. The decouple reduced benefits, but did not remove all of them. Good info on Slice though.
You know, now that zoom is no longer tied to range, maybe bungie should make zoom a scaler on primary weapons (obviously broken on specials like snipers and linear fusions). I could see that upping the usage of weapons overall that have been forgotten. Who knows, maybe snipers would be okay too, or at least an option to change the reticle or scope or something.

It’s busted on broodweaver with Swarmers. Mine has slice and hatchling, with Swarmers it’s nonstop debuffs and threadlings
