How to build the perfect S197 MT82 Mustang

- Jeremiah is a long time Lund racing customer and loves roll racing his stock engine 2011 mustang. I show you his car and it really illustrates how easily a gen 1 mustang can be made into a legitimately fast street car without a massive budget
I’m starting to really appreciate seeing S197’s on the road, everyone and their moms has an S550 nowadays
Supercharged s197 with a gen 2 shortblock = gap city
@@dabesdrboy that's me!
@@dabesdrboy more like gen 3 ...
Yeah that's how I feel too. I understand S550's objectively perform and handle better, but to make a S550 turn heads you have to go insane on it to separate it from the other thousands of 'em. Put some nice rims on an S197, maybe lower it a bit, maybe change the hood up and you got something that looks real mean. I think they nailed the aesthetic with S197s. 2015 little more bland, 2016 a little more bland, then 2017 came and they've been really 'blah' since then. I mean viewed in a vacuum they're an 'okay looking', European-inspired generic sports sedan, and I'm sure performance-wise they're a treat to drive. But they lost any 'Mustang' attitude they had - they don't have that classic silhouette that really speaks toward its heritage. But I suppose I shouldn't give them shit; the 2021 Mustang is a four door Crossover SUV (I kid you not) and that is a travesty so grave even the sin of the first four Cylinder Mustang II in the 70's looks minor in comparison
Mine only has 18k
Been waiting on this. We need more s197 content!
Couldn't agree more!
These are almost becoming the modern fox body (dare I say).
A. James NJ Especially the 4.6s, now all the S197s I see are the coyotes
@@christopherbrooke2142
I’m working on a 06v6.
Going to be a fun S197 build.
Sounds like alex needs another s197...
He does...He was like a kid in a candy store driving that thing....C'mon Alex....
And now he has a 2013 gen1 6r80 car!!
Great video Alex! No music ruining the video, you get straight to the point. Always awesome content keep it up man!
My favorite is the 2013 -2014 mustang
Me too
Same same
Same
Never gonna give up my 13gt!
me too, got a black 14 gt, alex would hate it cause its Auto :)
The S197 is my all time favorite. I may be biased as I own one!
I sometimes regret selling my 07GT, my 15 And 17 GT just took up too much time. still love the S197 looks tho.
Same xD
@@EliteGeeks 2 identical twins Mustangs. I would rather have old school big power and new big power. 2 of same seems redundant and boring
+2 with a V7, 3.73, and cams! ;)
Sure is...2011 coyote here...stock everything minus a catback...got other priorities 1st b4 modding takes place...better late than never I guess...
finally more S197 content, also like the update on his ride from your previous video of it.
Great video, you were literally surprised with the cars performance.....your reaction was awesome. Love these honest genuine videos.
Looks like a great time driving that thing around. Nice build!
Also I love the analog gauges in the S197’s and the trims like the Boss 302, Shelby GT500, GT (5.0, 4.6) etc.
The 3.7 badge lol perfect
Awesome video as always. That car looked like so much fun lol looks like you had a blast in it.
S197 best body since 65-69
Yep and it's not even close. Reason I own a 69 and an 09
Great video. These Mustangs are the peak Mustang as far as looks. Gorgeous.
Will always love the S197s..
Your reaction on those pulls was priceless.
That intro.
I showed it to my cousin, he sure changed his intro.
Thank you
just bought back my 2011 i love it and will keep it forever
“Woo hoo, Oh man!” The intro is legendary. This video makes me want to get an s197
This dude understands the sauce. No seats and sound deafening removed base base base model
Actually he took out the interior for date night ;)
Man I love those videos keep up the good work Alex
Love my S197! 2013 Mustang GT w/Track Pack. KEEP ON ROCKING!
Crazy video. Saw it when it was new but now I know of Jeremiah Kamp from the other channel. Car is nuts, putting a tvs on my gt500 real soon so hoping to make the same power. This has me excited
Thank you so much for this, gonna keep my '14 Same setup just need the supercharger and already had my eye on the Paxton
Your enthusiasm has me liking the damn thing, hahaha! It is a cool simple build for sure!
This video is super exciting for me because I’ve got the same blower and some parts stock piled for my base model ‘14 car same wheel set up also.
THIS!!! Is why I love my setup!
Ol Cletus McFarland would be proud of you slamming the limiter, beating the chains, and doing it for Dale.
Awesome video, Alex. Would love to see more reviews like this
The video I’ve been waiting for
That S197 is badass!!!
S197 master race FTW
Man, that was the perfect intro to catch the watchers attention.
Way to send it and keep it straight, good shit! Must first mods, billet oil pumps gears, crank sprocket, clutch and DS, then add the power, jmo.
Also increase cooling capability with a better radiator, the M-8005-MBR (Boss radiator) works just dandy and the fitment is perfect.
13:21 I Dont Want to do a 1-2 shift ....... but Im gonna do it anyway.
Love my lil s197 3.7. Track n backroad focused car
Damn that looks fun as hell...
that's my plan for my car and I cant wait
Wow, thanks for the video! I have a 2011 Gt. I’ve been debating on either modification or upgrading to a 2019 and newer.
I have a 2012 gt first gen as well, still on all stock engine. Can't wait to do something similar with mine. This video had my attention pretty quick lol
I'm looking for a clean '12 myself. Really tough to find a clean, (preferably 1 owner) stock s197. I always loved the front end look. Yeah, later technology has been tempting but the raw, visceral ride you get with these, especially with some boost, is what I'm looking for. I have a '15 Challenger 4.6L SRT but I never fell in love with it, never even named it!
@@badfatboy1 hell yeah my friend, get one. I been loving it. For now mine is just a daily driver. But there's so much u can do with them
@@SeriusChevy I know and that's one of the biggest problems I have with my Challenger. The 6.4 hemi is a sick motor but you really can't supercharge it without doing a welded crank and other motor work to SAFELY boost it. I know others have done it without blowing their sh1t up but that would NOT be MY luck lol. Plus I really love the looks of that gen Stang...
Thanks for responding Bro., you've strengthened my decision - now to find a nice specimen!
Same
Fun video. I have a 2019 S550 GT PP1 but think I love and need a s197 2013 Boss 302 now.
Your reaction to a non tvs car is satisfying makes me want to throw my drag setup on an go party im 3.31 an this car an mine seen identical tuned by u an LUND RACING OF COURSE 💪🏽
Bro i heard lund blows up shit with his tunes
maximus vonce lol you heard wrong
@@maximusvonce1381 you might have Lund confused with bama tunes, Lund is the top coyote tuner in the game
Good shit, rowing dem gears like a pro!
Damnnnn bro that belly was shaking during that pull 🔥🔥🔥
Thing runs that's for sure!
I absolutely love my 2011 Coyote x-pipe, 2018 intake mani, cai, roush exhaust, cat and resonator delete, ghost cam tune, mt82. 420 rwhp, sounds incredible and I run with cars that I shouldn't be able to...$20k total...
Is ur manifold ported? What was your experience with the 18 manifold? I got kooks headers and pmas on 91 tune. But want to move onto the 18 ported mani, 47lb for e85 and a Lund tune.
@@MrChow408 2018 mani flows better all the way through the power band, high and low vs boss 302 mani makes better power up top but loses down low...you can port the '18 but mine is not...
Nice car. Good review.
I literally have the same setup on my 2011 it’s great.
West Palm...
Greetings. New to the channel. Appreciate the insight on the build
This car is sick this is why solid axle and manual trans can't be beat its so raw and menacing and not refined everything opposite of the s550 nothing against those cars but these cars are where its at!!!
Thx sir for taking time out for s197 coyotes I have 14 with that relic🤣 of 2300 edelbrock which I wouldn't change it works well.
How is the 2300 edlebrock I've thought of doing that vs a roush or vmp as I don't want to push more than 6-650whp and it's dirt cheap
Damn that looks fun!
"Oh can you do that to my car?"...... No. 🤣 That's why I love your videos.
This set up in my sn95 would be awesome.
thats one fast 3.7 ..
FourPointSixChris exactly what I was thinking..
I lost 3rd and 4th so I took your advice and ordered a ben calimer stage 1 and a mcleod rst so we'll see how it does.
"hey could you do that to my car...no" lol cracked me up
When he let that S197 rip that car freakin started moving!! Sounds healthy too.
He's all about racing 👍
Nice video!
Bro, the opining scene of this video is bad ass.
I loved this car when it was N/A!! So awesome. Still love it though.
It wouldn't be as fast hell a FBO 18 GT 10r80 would walk you
billy heaton if it wasn’t the 10 speed y’all would be gapped I raced 4 new body mustang gt’s with my 11, walked their ass
Algorithm is on point today. Good ol’ throwback to Jeremiah’s car
That's a similar set up I wanna do in my fox. T56 magnum, procharged D1X. That thing looks super fun and impressive in a S197. Should be bad in a fox
Love this guy
S197 is the goat
very fun to watch
Thanks Alex! S197!
This is basically my car as soon as I slap on my Paxton and fuel system. Already cam'd with 3.73s
Liked just for the intro
That's a nice hot rod 👌
And it sounds good.not no typical super loud coyote
“Driving down the road”
Oh look it’s that dude in blue... never mind that’s Alejandro lmao
#twinin
Lol!
Love it. Street car.
Would love to see a "How to build the perfect S550 MT-82" sometime soon
“I did a pop, got it in the log” lmfao ☠️😂
I'm sure i missed an older video. But what is this all about lol. I hear the pops obviously but why's he mocking it?
I pretty much have the same set up. 2014 with a v7 jt. 8 rib . Fuel system on e85r. It made 732. Man it's super fun and fast. Nothing like a stickshift banging gears on the street
How many miles at that power? Any issues
@Anthony have about 5k miles. No issues.
@@humbertoguzman2231 8 rib isnt really necessary until around 900hp. if u run that crappy gates green belt its going to slip. the belt i run is good for 16psi on the 6 rib.
The reason I got a 8 rib is because I'm planning to get a built motor. Remember buy once and cry once lol
I'm going to pulley to death . That's why i got enough fuel system, stage 3 bc Trans etc.. planning for the future.
Good content
The speedo has 70 thosand but im shure the rear end and suspension possibly could be different then what was there from the factory I would think LOL but another awesome video you always bring something different and good content
"No hood struts gay " 😂 imma subscribe 😂
I think I watch this video bout 20 damn times...fucking car moves TF out! I’m sold, Paxton it is💪🏽❤️✊🏽
more reviews on s197 pls, maybe a modded boss 302? 👀 #S197MasterRace
CompOrangeBoss I love a Boss 302.
S197s are ridiculously good cars
Very nice
Have the same build but 3.33 pulley instead. Love my Paxton.
Sloyote is it worth putting 700 hp on a gen 1 coyote?
RS STACKS I would personally just stay around 650 unless you track the car a lot and it’s not your daily.
Sloyote okay just wonder im most likely going to keep it a weekend car... i just heard the gen 1 coyotes pop around 700hp and i just want to be around that range... i would get the gen 2 but not a fan of the s550
How do you decide what cars to review??? Is there an application process??LOL!! I would love to get your honest opinion about my car. Before I go any further with mods. But long time follower and fan! Enjoy all your vids, keep up the great work!
Damn beechoooo!!!! Le sacaste los weenies 😂😂💪🏾
the 3.7L is a nice touch.
@ 14:23.
“Alex it did a pop 💥 ive got it in the log” 😂😂😫😩
That's awesome
Alex, all the cool kids get the popcorn tune! Lmao.
15:44 best part of the video hands down
Hell yeah i have a similar setup with a boss mani only on pump gas right now, gonna get a fuel system here soon and go e85. I have 3.31 gears tho im thinkin bout changin em tho for either the 3.73s or 3.55s.
3.73 pull very aggressively; I have 3:55s and it hooks well
This video will make Nico ThatGuyMarin cry
lflcoast lol he didn’t get to do what Alex did 😂😂🤣
Impressive
LMAOO your intro killed me xD
S197 with gen 2 block here!
I just bought a 2011 GT, & want to of course like SO OF US, I want to make it faster, but have a very limited budget, what's the best cheap power gains, & what companies are the parts from?
Thank you guys, me & my 6 year old son are building this car, we been through A LOT over the past few years, & this is a gift to both of us!!! 👍💯
I had a 2001 Lightning(540hp) & a 1989 Mustang ASC McLaren, the Lightening was black & the Mustang white, as is my new one. Thanks guys
Very limited budget and power don’t go hand in hand. Headers, injectors, and E85.
What did you end up doing?
Please respond Alex, what’s the purpose of different sizes on long tube headers.... does one provide more gains up top vs down low vice visa or is it that one is more ideal for boost and the other is better for N/A????
1 3/4 vs 1 7/8 vs 2
Alex, what would you prefer, this car as it sits or the exact same setup with a gen2r at the same power level?
