    Check out the link below for this heater. HCALORY did give me a coupon code to give to all of you if interested in this heater. So far i'm more impressed with this than the original diesel heater I purchased to use on my camping rig and will be using this one instead.

    Most of these heaters have a temperature sensor in the control panel. If you cut and extend the wires to it, you can place the control panel inside your tent and then the heater will react to the temperature inside the tent, vs the temp outside. Reacting to the outside temp, your heater will try to roast you. My heater, and I believe all of them, also have a menu option to control the output in two ways. The default setting (on my Vevor unit) was to control heat by adjusting the fuel pump pulse rate, thereby raising or lowering the temp output. This works for getting the output temp lowered enough that you don't roast, and the temp sensor in the control panel doesn't affect the output. Using this option won't automatically adjust, so you'll find yourself fiddling with it through the night. The other menu option is to control the output via thermostatic control, meaning the control panel's sensor will tell the heater what the ambient temp is, then the heater will auto adjust output based on the sensor's reading vs your desired temperature. That option only works if you extend the control panel's wires to bring it inside your tent. Knowing this was, for me, the biggest game changer for my comfort. My wires are extended, I changed the menu option to run thermostatically, put the panel inside my sleeping area, adjust to the temp I want, and sleep comfortably without having to wake up and adjust the settings in reaction to changes in outside temperature.

    How long with the battery you have, would this be able to run. I'm going on an 8 day camping trip and am looking for a power source that will last hopefully through the night and through the trip. Thank you for your time friend!

    I appreciate this video. I got to the exhaust, and my head was going to explode. What a horrible design. It's like they cut the tubing and secured the other end to the exhaust outlet, and now it won't fit together.

    What a Frankenstein's monster once it's all built up. 😆 It gives me a new appreciation for the "all-in-one" design. (Even if there are bad parts, having to prop it up.)

    The sponge in the air intake is there more as a Air silencer than a air filter , the heater only needs a mesh filter to keep bits out.
    The heaters with the tank inside can have a change over valve
    just before the pump and then run the extra fuel pipe through a hole to a different tank.
    You can also use the internal tank for start up / shut down with diesel and have lower quality fuel in the external tank for running when up to temp

    I see they didn't change that cheap green fuel line. It's not good to be using that and it can be dangerous to use so be careful with it. It's been known to swell up and leak fuel which could start a fire being so close to the exhaust on the bottom of the unit.

    That one definitely seems better built, and uses higher quality materials, than the last one. You said you can sit in your “tent” and change the temperature. I’m looking forward to seeing your build

  • @r0tekz
    @r0tekz 10 місяців тому +2

    Where is the ambient temperature thermostat sensor? Inside the case? The heater would presumably need to be located inside the heated space to work on automatic, yes? I want to have the heater outside the tent/vehicle, so this I guess would rule out using the automatic temperature control?

    Just ordered one of these for my 6x12 Moto trailer. Should be perfect for it too as its already wire with a 100amphr battery, solar, etc. Great review and covered the few questions I had, thank you. Amazon reviews are kind of sketchy for quality, reliability, and instructions. Most of which I think are just dumb people not knowing what they are doing or how these work. For $89, it seems like a great deal for my occasional cold weather use. I already have some mods planned to make it work best for my application. I will change the unnecessarily long intake snorkel, brackets, and integrate the exhaust to function through the trailers floor. My only question is will leaving fuel (or kerosene) in it long term cause issues or ruin it.

    • @GearGadgetReviews
      @GearGadgetReviews  2 місяці тому +1

    You may want to try running Kerosene as it should work fine and has a much lower temperature gel tolerance than diesel for winter camping.

    Is this waterproof And people are saying about the exhaust should be lower but they give you a bracket to put it in. Was thinking maybe the exhaust goes it the bracket but you bend the the box over

    I think I'm gonna have to stick to electric sites so I can plug in an electric space heater, or two. I saved a whole year to buy a springbar traveler tent. I skipped the wood stove completely because I'm widowed with a 7 year old boy and when we go to bed, we both need to sleep through the night. I'm just gonna have to save to buy a planar diesel heater because I can't be doing all of that. I'm not even super sure what most of what you're talking about is and I don't want to accidentally unalive us.

    When you say that you primed the fuel, this was not shown. How do you do it? I have just received one of these Hcalory heaters and the manual Chinglish is not clear about the procedure at all. Do you have to hold down the pump key for 300 seconds until the timer counts down, as the manual kind of suggests in the weird translation?

    • @GearGadgetReviews
      @GearGadgetReviews  10 місяців тому +1

      There is a small button in the lower left of the LCD screen you press and hold (approx 7-10 seconds) on my model and it starts priming the pump.

Other then that Bluetooth and better wiring 😮 yeah 👍💯 i just ordered one with Bluetooth, i needed another pump cause it's pushing out too many air bubbles causing the E-08 from time to time , gonna also buy upgraded pump, the quiet ones not that bothers me (i have mounted outside) so i don't hear it much, but good review, it made get one so now I'll have 2 in case there's a problem
