Great tutorial! Nice job of explaining/showing all the steps clearly. Saves paying almost $500 bucks at the dealership to replace spark plugs. Seriously, you can replace the spark plugs and coils yourself for about $130.
I was looking over my scheduled maintenance and realized the last time I took my Avant to Audi it was essentially a $425 glorified oil change. I’m approaching 70k and realize spark plugs will be next. Figure I can do the oil and plugs on my own next time - thanks to your video!!!
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to post this great tutorial! Great camera angle as you really give the viewer a first hand view of what to see. Fantastic. Subscribed!
Thanks for your video. 👏 I took my car to 2 mechanical workshops(Sorry we're too buzy) to change 1 spark plug that keep fouling due to oil.. changed my first ever spark plug..
Even though they come pre set on gap always check them and carefully you can adjust the gap never trust others. Also with the dissimilar metals of spark plug base and aluminum cylinder head a dab of anti seize on threads is highly recommended for removal later.
ALWAYS CHECK! While you’re at store just grab a Gap Tool off the rack and check them. If one is off have it swapped out for another. ALWAYS CHECK!!!!!!!!!
Good advices on the sockets removal techniques. But geeZ 22 ft/lbs! I've never torque any motor vehicle spark plugs to more than 13 ft/lbs, especially with anti-seize applied.
I did mine and didnt have to unscrew the wire harness. This comes apart from the middle and then pry up the coil by hand. Once done you put the harness plastic back carefully placing the wires as they were when you pulled it apart.
I'm having cylinder 2 misfire from oil on my spark plug.. what's the gasket I need need fix this?? It looks like there like sitting in the spark plug hole.
A decent video however I would add a few things. Its no big deal to unplug the injectors and doing so will give you more room to move the harness away. Also I've watch a couple videos on this and every single one makes it look easy to pull the ignition coils out. It wasn't easy on my 13 A5 with 75 k, it was truly a PIA. They were so stuck you would have thought someone glued them in. I had to use generous amounts of silicon spray along with lifting, twisting, and spraying some more to finally get them loose. The last time the plugs were replaced was at the dealer at 35K. I used a little bit of die electric grease with a Q tip along the boot were the plug connects and some along the rubber part at top of the ignition coil. Should be mush easier next time!
My ignition coils were totally different. They say VAG and seem authentic. Extremely hard to get out. I might have broken one because it split in half.
@@Imdimplez83 clda did it yourself should just look into vids like this next time . Just finished fixing a misfire from a coil and spark plug on my hyundai . Finna change coils and plugs on this audi now takes less than a hour

@@Almighty_jones yes, if you take care of them and are routine with maintenance. Owned my ‘12 A4 since the year it dropped and have had zero issues with it. If you treat the car like shit, it won’t last long.
Ignore this guy .. when changing spark plugs get off your ass and actually LOOK up the gap on the new plugs and then verify it carefully with a feeler gauge. Do not "eyeball" is as he mentioned and yes they are supposed to be pre gapped but then again shit happens they can be gapped if done carefully. iridium tips are very brittle you have to check the gap with a feeler gauge not one of them old fashioned round ones where you spin it clockwise and it forces the gap to the desired amount this tool will snap off your tip.
Also for the luv of GOD dont use a fricking air ratchet putting them in or out this guy is clearly not a professional with half a brain .. this guy must make a ton of extra cash fixing stuff like cross threaded spark plug holes etc.. he probably just replaces the entire engine then fixes the core ?

How do you remove the service due from your dash after doing all that?
Invest in an OBD2 scanner.

Do i have to disconnect the battery when doing this job?
Have u had any issue with N g k. Spark plugs. Would u recommend them. Thank you in advance
NGK spark have been great and are the factory plugs on a lot of vehicles. I would recommend them.
Will I be able to use the same plugs/procedure on a 2nd gen (US) A4 allroad?
What are the cylinder numbers ? Like in order? Does it start from the inside of the engine?
Good job.But How about disconnect battery ?
joong-ock Moon there’s no need to disconnect it for this service.

TFSI
