    I actually just bought MKX now without having played any prior versions of mk beforehand so i was really starstruck at first with everything that's happening and everything seems extremely fast at first and have no idea what's what.
    These 5 episodes explained everything so great that i can finally watch a pro game and understand what's even happening, now i just need to develop the skill to actually apply these things in my own matches.
    Thanks a lot for such amazing content!

    Just wanted to say, you guys by far make the highest quality, most concise, and professional videos. Not just MKX community, but possibly the whole Gaming scene as well. I'm not the one to judge necessarily, but there is quite a bit of lackluster videos out there in MKX community that don't even go in-depth in the first place, let alone follow a professional approach. So good job dudes, the Mkx community no doubt benefits greatly for your guys' work.

    I just got back into playing mk since the arcade days of mk2 and 3 so I wanted to get back into it so I figured I'd give mkx a go and boy has the game changed since those days. I just wanna say that out of all the tutorials I've been watching, you two are the easiest to learn from and really explain everything in a way at least I personally can understand it. Especially when it comes to the frame data. Thanks guys for the vids. Has helped me alot and helped me enjoy mk gaming again.

    I love the lack of condesention, most tutorial videos make you feel like an idiot, you guys are so genuine and nice throughout this whole series. Been putting in some hard graft with predator what do you guys think of him ? Keep up the good work, I hope to see more of these videos, just watching these has made me a far better player! Thanks!

    Hey guys, just got through all 5 of your casual to competitive videos. Awesome stuff. Really on point with concise easy to understand info. Given me a lot to think about. Do you do character guides too? If you did I would love to see them. With the same level of detail and explanation in these videos, it would be easy to get better. I'm trying to get better with Sun God Kotal Kahn at the moment.

    Guys, I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed watching this series. I've learned so much over the five episodes. Although I'd love to reach a high level of competitiveness, I know it's gonna a be a long, bumpy road before I'm anywhere near as proficient as the guys competing in ESL and the likes. I've always enjoyed fighting games, but after playing Injustice last year I decided I wanted to up my game. Lately, I've purposefully been networking with decent players in KOTH matches online, which more often that not means getting destroyed. On the plus side, though, it's improving my game all the time. This series has been a fantastic insight into understanding the mechanics of MKX and the extent of the leaning curve that's needed to move forward.
    Keep the the videos coming, guys. They're funny, brilliantly entertaining and delivered in an extremely professional manner. Hat's off!
    Peace J.

    I watched all 5 guide videos, so helpful. I've been trying to figure things out on my own in practice mode for the last few days since buying the game and I understand more about the gameplay now from watching this series than I did from hours of doing my own thing and hoping for the best. Cant wait to try out what I've learned and to legit pick a main character based on something pertinent instead of how cool I think they are hah thank you much, K&M

    Great great series guys, thanks so much for the effort you've put into these videos.
    I'm also wondering if you (or anyone in the comments) has any advice for being able to poke or counter poke out of pressure more easily. Sometimes especially with characters with slower D3 and D1s it can be fairly tricky.

    Wow, I thought I knew everything about the at least bare basics of this game (not necessarily applying it all in matches or being good by any means), but it turns out I didn't. I thought all throws can be teched with any button. I didn't know that 2/4 had to be used for forward throws and 1/3 for back throws. I was wondering why I was still getting thrown even though I swore I teched it at the right time, I was pressing the wrong button!
    So glad these videos exist. They're great for beginners, good reminders for intermediate and expert players, and even people who thought they knew just about everything can learn something.

    there is something else I want to add up to defense against throws . if your opponent is going for a throw after your attacks . do an attack that puts him in a range that if you duck you won't get into the throw . if he wants to throw and he is not in the range then you can have a free full combo . this can be done on AI a lot . especially goro . a lot of people go for throw as a reversal too .

    thanks for this series, I think I've definitely became more competitive then I was before I watch these videos. I think the most helpful was the art of rush down video, because of that video ive became way better at starting combos. though my only downfall is that I often mess up my combos

    Hey guys need help on defending against command grabs mainly for erron blacks what is one way to not get hit by it im not sure what way to stop it from connecting after his 211222 string on block

  • @EliasSanchez21
    @EliasSanchez21 9 років тому

    Is it possible to explain why some string combos do more the same or more damage when you take some parts of the string out?
    I've been noticing it a lot with Erron and Ermac.
    For example:
    Erron Blacks:
    F1,3, db4, b3, 2, U1, bf3 blk, dbf 2 + blk
    Does the same amount of damage as when you remove the first three parts of this string. They both do 30 percent damage.
    Thanks

    a question I have is why do the more competitive people do different things to end there combos when an uppercut would do just fine or even better in most combos. for example with inferno scorpion id do 1,2,3 minion grab, njp, jump kick, teleport, and then uppercut. it does around 28% damage, but I see other people end it off with a more complicated and less effective way of ending it. do pros not like uppercut? or is it for style? sorry if this question was confusing

    • @PNDKM
      @PNDKM  9 років тому

      AntiTheMrRealGamerz Doing something else other than uppercut will almost always do more damage.
      Sometimes people also don't uppercut because they want a setup afterwards. It's rare that a combo ending in uppercut will be your max damage.

    I played mk9 a lot, but I can't remember if it was as reliant on 50/50 mixups than mkx is.
    In my opinion it kind of ruins the game because once you are trapped in a vortex it's combo breaker. Then screw up one more time and your done, especially against characters that have loads of high+ low strings, I'm looking at you mileena

    • @Ytusrrnamefromyt
      @Ytusrrnamefromyt 9 років тому +1

      A character that has loads of highs and lows you can simply block low against them...

      Hariskillsstuff mk9 was just as bad, if not worse, with completely unescapable setups (cyrax, cage). However, I feel there are more deliberate vortex characters in this game than in mk9.

    • @Stinkyremy
      @Stinkyremy 9 років тому

      Hariskillsstuff mileena $ ermac are terrible, and that is why loads of people use them online, ermac is so tricky as he has a mix of overheads and lows, with virtually all of his specials as projectiles and a teleport that can be used in the air too...I cant defeat a even decent player who is ermac, just to hard to predict his startups and then I get punished for sooo long in a vortex
