I am 62 over the last decade or so I have had four root canals. In the last few years two of these root canal have been replaced with titanium implants. I put as much research into getting the implants as I did getting the root canals.....none regretfully ( mistake #1). I had a dull pain in my first root canal and when I ask my dentist about it years ago after procedure was just done he said "oh that just a little ghost pain, it's normal don't worry about it" (mistake#2). Five years ago I spent sixteen days in the hospital on death doorstep with strep in my liver. I was "cured" by four small drains in my liver, a large drain between my liver and lungs, and massive amounts of antibiotics for two and a half months. When I asked how did I get strep in my liver? the doctors shrugged their shoulders and said we don't it is rare but happens. Last December I watched a video on rumble called "Root Cause" Controversial because it challenges the conventional norms to this day. One of the three pathogens fostered by root canals listed in the video was strep. Alarms bells started ringing in my brain. Another symptom described in the video was associated back pain. I was shocked and certain I had a rotten root canal for years and new exactly which tooth root it was! My wife thought I was crazy as with most people I mentioned it to. At my next teeth cleaning( every Four months) I mentioned the video and my suspicions to my new dentist ( the old dentist retired, best thing that he ever did for me!) My new dentist told me the video "Root Cause" was folklore and disproven. I past his exam However he was kind enough to shoot my suspect root canal with Novocain to see if it had a affect on my now persistent back pain. The symptom of referred back pain was mentioned in the video. The shot helped my back pain, not completely but enough to pursue this issue. I went to my oral surgeon who was referred by my "new" dentist. Together they had replaced two of my four root canals at this point in time already with titanium implants( mistake #3?). I arrived at the oral surgeon without referral. I mentioned the video "Root Cause" and pointed to my rotten root. I said this root canal was a problem since the day it was done I want it out. He told me that that video is folklore and has been disproven we argued for five minutes until he said "well let's take a look" He stuck that pick under the gum line and instant pain... "Oh that's got a big crack in it and has to come out now" MIND you he has a 3D cone beam ex-ray machine imaging machine and had used it on me at least four times at this point and had never noticed this major root issue! He removed the tooth that day and put a root graph over it( mistake #4) and send me on my way without antibiotics(mistake#5). After the first three days I was feeling better, after that it got progressively more painful. I did not communicate this to him(mistake#6). The next day the pain was so much I could not think straight. Which I believe was a factor in a car accident. I was at fault when I rear ended someone in the rain and totaled our BMW(mistake#7) on the way to work. He tried to fix the situation with antibiotics and more antibiotics, which did not help as I am amoxie immuned and they did not ask about that( mistake#8). Very upset with his work and attitude. I switched surgeons to his sister in the same practice(no regrets) who is a better listener with a better chairside manner. The pain persisted, but was nothing compared to what was to come. She removed the bone graph her brother installed and then debrided it... that was so painful I cried tears. It turned out the infection in the tooth socket had gone up into my sinus. The pain continued and slowly improved with a different antibiotic. Soon I am scheduled for a sinus lift. I am left with anxiety over the dilemma of titanium or zirconium. Which I wish I would have thought about before the first two titanium implants. As I have developed itchy skin under my belly ,arm pits and neck. I also have been fatigued. I do however feel my overall health has improved since getting that stinking root canal removed. I feel twenty years younger. I think root canals are like putting lipstick on a pig. they leave the rotten root in your head and put a pretty crown on it and forget about it. Medicine at it's finest! As for what I blame my diet(sugar, alcohol, and refined grain and hygiene)( mistake #9), pour research on my behalf(mistake#10). Check out "ROOT CAUSE" on rumble and diagnose your self like I did!
So if you could do it again, would you refuse the bone graft & implants? Pretty sure I'm sensitive to nickel, possibly other metals... I keep reading how just getting the failed root canal tooth pulled (it's a lower 1st molar, I believe) will cause adjacent teeth to lean in towards each other & cause super eruption of some upper teeth. Was told there's infection & a hole in my jaw. Dentist recommends redo of RC; I want it out but am afraid of consequences. I just don't think my health is worth keeping one dead tooth.
Your story is crazy. I'm due to get an extraction, bone graft and implant starting next week for an infected and supposedly cracked root canal crown(which they can't seem to be able to find the crack on the x-ray...SIGH) I'm freaking out doing tons of research because I feel there's really no good option and do not want to risk my future health with a risky implant. Is the moral of your story that you would go with zirconia implants instead of titanium? I don't think yanking without replacement is an option either because I've already pulled the tooth behind it and know missing teeth cause facial structure issues. Please share more!
@@louisdefusco411 Have you noticed any negative effects of the first tooth being pulled yet? (And if you don't mind my asking, when was the first tooth pulled?)
@@louisdefusco411 I'm researching, too. I think the least invasive seems to be a partial denture. Just learned of something called tooth transplantation, where they can relocate a good tooth (a molar was shown) into the empty space where it's more needed. I have no idea of the success rate or cost. Was told if it would have been my second molar (rather than first), that I could've just gotten it removed and left it vacant if I'd wanted. I also read about & saw an example of someone getting braces: they had a gap in the back from a missing molar. That lone tooth in the back was anchored to the others in the front, and it was moved up to be next to the others.
@@nancyk5203 It's kind of hard to say but I think maybe. I had #6 pulled 15 years ago and couldn't afford to replace it so I left it. This is actually my fiance's youtube account. I am a women. I'm telling you that because they say if you have missing teeth, you can start to have some facial structure issues and have tissue and bone shift which is important to anyone..man or woman but especially women as I feel as our beauty is rooted in symmetry. I would say on that side(right side) that there seems to be shrinkage if you will. The right side of my face isn't as full as my left but its not so alarming that it looks 'off' to others but I notice it. I think pulling a second tooth next to it and not replacing it would very well cause some obvious structural issues. I was actually due to start the process and extract tomorrow morning and I just cancelled. After researching titanium implants for the last several days and reading tons of the stories from patients who have had titanium put in where the implants have either failed or they've had health issues shortly after is not a risk I'm willing to take as I already have auto-immune issues. I'm stuck in limbo for the moment doing more research...which is also a catch 22 because the longer an infection sits the more bone loss you can have. I've already inquired with a few holistic offices regarding zirconia so that's probably the route I'll take. The transplant sounds like the most biocompatible and I haven't heard of it but not sure that would be an option for me as the tooth that needs replacing is #5 and pretty small but I will look into it. The thought of 'dentures' scares me but I will research it further also. These stories are just too horrifying to move forward without caution!
OMG. I would never have had root canals if I knew what I know today. I had 7 root canals, and I still haven't figured out why my teeth were becoming infected in the first place. (It's not like I neglect my teeth, I take care of them and see the dentist every 6 months). The first one, (the only bottom one), is still there. It was done in 1992. My family dentist did it. He took some kind of screw, and twisted it in by hand, jamming it deep into my jaw. He pushed down with great force, and I watched his elbow point up toward the ceiling as he leaned into it. When it was finally all the way in, he would RIP it out. Over and over he did this, until he was satisfied the roots were cleaned out. It took hours. It was crazy. I had another one done in Hudson NY. I wanted to go to an Endodontist, but he assured me he could do it. ”Ive done hundreds" Well, right in the middle of the procedure, he got up and left. He went down the hall and found 3 other dentists who came and gawked at it. No one could figure it out. I had extra roots or something like that, and they couldn't find them. He said, "Well I don't have time to finish this today, so you'll have to make an appointment and come back". Right in the middle of the root canal! I tried to find a different dentist or Endodontist, but no one would touch it because he was in the middle of it, and I guess they didn't want to step on any toes. It took 4 appointments to complete one root canal. And it was never right. The rest I had done by Endodontists. All of the top ones failed within 5 to 10 years. Only the 1992 one survives today. (Maybe the old ways are better. lol). Anyway, I'm a traveling nurse, and my root canals were failing all over the country. I'd have to find oral surgeons, in whatever big city or backwater podunk I found myself, who would take a first-time patient, 'today!' Most of the time I had to wait. About a year or two after the NY tooth debacle, I was brushing my teeth and noticed my gum was sore, so I pulled the corner of my mouth back to have a look. There was a nasty infection bulging beneath the surface, between that NY root canal and another one done in Texas. The Texas tooth. Then all hell broke loose! It was a domino effect, one tooth failed right after the other. It was a nightmare. They must have been infected all along. For years. All of my top back molars. Today, all of those teeth are gone and I am having implants put in. I've had 2 placed, and one of those failed a couple years after it was placed, but my oral surgeon is replacing it (for free) I just wonder if the implants will fail like the root canals. I don't think so, even though I've had one fail already. It must have been because of all the damage done, and I need more time for the bone graft structure to develop. Thanks for posting this, it gives me hope. I may not end up toothless after all.
I'm about to get a root canal, I think I'll opt for an extraction, the dentist in this video says it himself , he gets failed root canals "by the hour" ! ;)
After watching multiple videos regarding on a similar topic on RCT, yours is the most direct to the point without any unnecessary music and noise. But most of all the most informative and delivered professionally. Thank you so much 🙏🏻
recent studies connecting heart failure to root canals. same bacteria that lives in root canals found traveling through the body and plaquing up major arteries
Part 2 of 4: I think @JD-mm7ur should have stated that ‘chronically infected root canals’, whether root canal treated (RCT) or not, (aka apical periodontist) is a precursor for systemic disease which includes CVDs. Ask any endodontist if they can guarantee that 100% of ALL the necrotic tissue is removed during a RCT, they will say NO. When most people have an infected RCT at the apex of the root, there is often no symptoms or pain due to the treated tooth having no nerves (as what happened in my case). These infections can go unnoticed for years despite routine dental cleanings and check-ups (happened to me, I get cleanings 2x’s year and get X-rays once a year). Obviously diabetes and smoking does increase this outcome probability but I am neither diabetic nor have I ever smoked and in overall good physical and oral health having a very healthy diet (I’m in my 40’s) and yes it still happened to me. My dentist and endodontist are both bemused by my case and currently using my experience for their professional studies.
Part 4 of 4: It is time for us all to wake up. Everything has nuances, everyone’s body reacts differently, there is no such thing as one size fits all in the medical world, or in the real world for that matter. Spread peace, love, and truth!
Amazing. I could listen to you talk about this for 5 hours because this is so important to me and the human species. Sending a massive super sanctified prayer to your clinic.
I am listening to this video and I am wishing I would be treated from you. Because I have implants fail issues twice now. I am not believing my family orthodontist surgeon. Thank you so much for your explanation. I’m following up with my dentist again. As a senior, can’t go travel for my dental issues. I hope I want to watching your new videos .
I wish you were here in my part of rural New Hampshire. Nothing here with your level of expertise and experience. My mouth is full of root canals and knowing what I know now I would have opted for just a routine extraction and gotten partial dentures.
Honestly it’s worth the travel if you can afford it. I had to go a few hours away from where I live to a holistic dentist to have an old root canal removed for a Ceraroot implant for my last molar left side. Now my upper left opposing molar needs to be extracted. I’m having all kinds of issues with it. Burning sensation all around the new crown….yes new crown(waste of money) insurance covered that. Also causing dry mouth and gum infection like a papule beside the crown. I’ve decided to take it out and wait three or 4 months for it to heal to go and have an implant done. Can’t live with out molars on one side. That will be another whole nightmare with jaw issues. Nope! I’ll chance the implant! Plus that dentist is an expert in these implants and teaches other dentist how to do this type of operation. I’ll be in good hands. 🙏🏼
Thanks for the info on this. 3 years ago, I lost my 2 lower central incisors after failed root canal. I elected to go to an oral surgeon and get implants at the same time as the extractions and it didn't work. I ended up getting a maryland bridge and it has worked out fine at not that tremendous of a cost, but this was enlightening to me as to why it failed. My previously done implants to replace molar teeth had worked out tremendously.
After going through enough hell of my own ...I went ahead and got dentures to hell with implants! Between the root canals... the crowns and everything else.... I'm just done! Lol. All of that pain for absolutely nothing! Not worth it!
Wish I had known then what I've learned now the worst way possible!!😢 6+yrs ago had ALL my teeth root canaled in hopes of avoiding where I ended up today 🥺 2 1/2 weeks out from having ALL my root canaled teeth extracted & on this journey of getting snap in dentures 😣 Had no idea this amount of pain for this duration even existed!! 💔 I've had several 'obstacles' along this path of healing but my biggest fear is of anything going wrong w the implants 😭😭😭😭 I'm obsessed w/ cleaning these temp dentures that have been just pure agony since day one combined w/ the salt water rinses ⚠️ My surgeon changed plans w/o my knowledge (or consent) & decided to go w/ conscious sedation rather then general- I had advised them all of my need for general (I don't get numb) plus concious sedation meds do not work on me- he learned the hard (I suffered thru hell for it), needless to say, had to return 4 days later to have bottom extractions done under GENERAL ANESTHESIA 📈📈📈 Praying for the day, I can find the light at the end of this nightmare 😭😭
Thanks Dr. for bringing out this information. Normal dentists do not even think about it .....They dont bother for a cbct...Neither are they aware of these complications
In a situation like this, wouldn't extracting the root canal tooth solve the problem? I'm all for trying to save your natural teeth, but in this situation, it might be better to just remove the tooth. As long as you're able to replace it with an implant, that seems to be the best solution.
That's what he's explaining is that when he takes out a failed root canal it causes issues. Not all root canals are horrible but not all teeth can be saved the 1st time that will avoid a failed root canal
Doctor this was a fantastic video. Thank you for taking time to share this vital information. My opinion about root canals is keeping a dead object in your mouth unhealthy. Eventually, there will be issues, broken crowns lead to infections, and some root canals are not done properly. Thanks again. I look forward to following your other videos
What do you mean a dead object ? Its a tooth and its not completely dead is it? And when its alive what is the point of it Alive if it just hurts eventually
@powerstuffup the tooth with its pulp chamber removed with the nerve does not have blood supply to the tooth. It's replaced with posts into the canal where the root once supplied nutrients to the tooth. It's purpose is to build up the core of the tooth . The tooth is just now a structure .
I don't understand why dentist don't explain these risk to patients before the op. UA-cam has made it amazing because everyone can take their health into their own hands now - I just wish I knew this earlier. I feel that when dealing with any organ that cannot grow back Dr/Dentist should sit patients down and explain the risks in a more *serious manner. My dentist just said "this will stop the sensitivity" but he never explained why/how/or the importance of actually trying to keep my teeth and trying other options to manage the sensitivity. At the time, I didn't even know that roots canals would ultimately fail or the consequences of losing teeth. I feel like I lost two teeth unnecessarily. It's a shame there's no medicine for regret.
You are absolutely right. I had tooth that needed root canal. That was never done the infection spread to the bone in my jaw. I wasn't in any pain at all.
An infected front tooth root canal is what sent me to have a consultation for all on 4. I have other missing teeth and have worn a partial, but this front tooth felt like the last straw. The periodontist who looked at my 3d scan seemed concerned that there might not be enough bone on the upper jaw, esp around the infection. What are the chances I’ll have to wear a regular denture instead of teeth that day. I think I’d rather keep wearing a partial with a front tooth than full denture. Bottom jaw was not a problem. But you are so right, I had no idea this tooth was infected until I went to my regular dentist for cleaning and she discovered deep pockets, but never any pain to warn me
look into a zirconia bridge and whether you're a good candidate. For All on 4, they often saw your bone off and are pushed heavily by sales people at all on 4 dental mills. Look up dr McFadden here on youtube he talks a lot about those.
Don't know what to do. Failed root canal on #3, endodontist showed me the infection & it's right on the sinus cavity & hesitantly referred me to a oral surgeon for an Apical curettage (scrape/clean/etc) with told success rate ≈75%. Also talked to a implant practice & told it'd take a sinus augment ... , so an expensive implant. Would the oral surgeon just delay the inevitable? Proud I saw your video with the long wait for the bone to get healthy. Don't really want another bridge. Thanks.
I had two root canals on my lower front incisors 57 years ago. One finally went bad and I had an apico. It did not heal. I had a second apico on that same tooth, and an apico on the other root canal tooth. It did not heal. The surgeon said I needed a root canal on the tooth next to one of the previous root canal tooth. The endodonist did not think so. The infection has never gone away (pimple on the gum comes and goes, but not any pain). I am at the point, after almost two years of dealing with this, to have the two root canal teeth pulled and replaced with a bridge. At my age (65), not too worried about bone loss due to two missing teeth, bridged with fake teeth. There must be a micro crack in one of the 57 year old root canal teeth that can't be seen on the 3D scanner, is my guess. I am no dentist, just speculating.
@@BlackSeedOil20 It was an accident when I was a kid. The dentist did save the two teeth for 57 years, so not complaining. With time, these two teeth became brittle and finally failed. Since I wrote the original comment, I had the two teeth pulled, which took care of the infection. Waiting for the bone and gum to heal, then getting a bridge in a couple of months. I am currently using a flipper temporarily.
it's crazy because he says he likes to wait at least 4 months for the bone to grow solid first, but on the first page of their website it's got a button for "all-on-four get brand-new teeth in a day!" I have two zirconium implants and they've looked okay at exams, but I have chronic sinus infections now. What he doesn't mention here are cavitations - I had 4 cavitation surgeries by a bio dentist and I suspect he punctured the sinus membrane. Each time something like this happens we patients pick up (after spending many thousands out-of pocket because insurance never covers this crap) and finding a new 'better' dentist only to have them try to fix old problems but accidentally create new ones. I'm out of tooth money, but not out of tooth problems. Very frustrating.
I have an 8 year old failed RC.. terrible pain…infected. they want to re do the old root canal. Pull out the filler, re post, re fill. Told them over the phone that I just want it extracted. Said they would call me right back…it’s been 3 hours! I’m so frustrated.
I’m STILL going through a failed root canal. I had 1 session. Then another. Then I got a large abscess, really bad. X2 antibiotics and penicillin. Had to use cloves and orajel. They couldn’t remove tooth as infection so bad. Then the infection went and they tried to save the tooth and then needed one more treatment. I got yet another infection abscess and went through the medication AGAIN!! This has been going on for a year now in total. Cancelled appointments and dentist burnt her hand. So I’ve got an appointment next month for extraction, but have yet another abscess so now need MORE medication and I’ve been using mouthwash and salt water. Give me strength!!!!!!
You got it warrior!! Life is a battle. We fight against it. I went through a lot like you, but With the help of The God, gradually I am starting to fix it
@@nancyk5203sometimes it's risky to operate when there's a bad infection, you risk it spreading. Also anaesthetic sometimes doesn't work effectively when there is a bad infection
Totally agreed they couldnt see my infection untill i got a cbct scan done, so mamy dentists said i had nothing wrong because it didnt show up with a 2d xray, but when i watch thia video i got scared because i thought i cant have a implant after a failed root canal, but basically what you are saying is you have to wait a little longer for the bone to heal and i totally get that because my bone is healing very slowly because of a big infection
So is it safer to get the tooth pulled and just wear dentures hey. Honestly root canal seems crazy to put a tooth that’s dead and not know if it’s infected and could lead to constant stress on you immune system and the toxins will cause heart disease and strokes and because your immune system is under all the times cancer would be high chance
Follow Eric Berg and follow a keto diet. You will have perfect teeth. Remove all the dead teeth from your mouth. God bless your sacrifice is not in vain.
I've heard about ozone therapy to clean things out. Is this for infection? or so infection doesn't happen? I have a lot of root canals and crowns. I've had the amalgam removed but they said they couldn't tell if I had more under the crown, but it looks like, from what I'm reading/researching that infection of root canals is a high probability. Just hoping implants can be done and something can clean up infection for a successful zirconia implant to stay stable
Thank you for this video. I have a failed root canal & now my bone is infected. I’m getting treated next month for it. I don’t know what they are going to do. 😢😢
I had tooth that the infection spread into the bone in my jaw. It had been infected for quite awhile. When I had the tooth pulled. They removed pieces of damaged infected bone. I was on antibiotics for ten days. My X-Ray look good now and infection is gone. I can have my impressions for my full dentures. Now if they catch it early which in my case they didn't. Usually it doesn't cause enough damage to bone. Where it needs to be removed. Usually antibiotics and if you decide to get implants. You will probably need bone grafting. For me probably within the next several years. I will need bone grafting. To continue to wear my removable dentures. So don't automatically think your situation. Will be like mine because a lot more likely that it won't be like mine.
My daughter had a root canal where the crown fell off. The dentist is making her wait 5 months before he glues the the crown back on. Well the dental hygienist told her to gargle with hydrogen peroxide and water because she has bacteria in her mouth. Isn’t this indicative of negligence on the dentists part? It sure seems this way tome. How can we help her to get rid of the bacterial infection going on in her mouth? That is if her bone isn’t decaying to boot? She is only 23 years old and I am afraid for her life! What can we do?
Sorry to hear, I too just got over a root canal, it was not fun.. I was given a prescription mouthwash, and told to use salt water rinse. Hope your daughter had a 3D scan, it helps the doc see better.
Can you do a video on crowns after root canals ? My crown on my molar has a huge ledge on the side by my tongue.. also while the hygienist was fitting the crown in the first place it felt like she was literally shoving it full force into my face .. I don’t typically cry but omg that hurt ! it is sensitive to hot and cold and periodically throbs.. I had this done 2 1/2 weeks ago .. my dentist hasn’t gotten back to me. .
Hi, thank you for this video. I am searching for a periodontist in my area who is as knowledgeable as you about this scenario. I am in a situation now where my implant is failing and I’m told I need to remove and bone graft and replace. The tooth that was extracted previously was a failed root canal with a massive abscess in my bone. I don’t think my dentist was experienced in how to treat such a case. He was surprised that my bone was taking longer to grow back, as you indicated would probably happen in this video. What specifically should he have done to make sure the area and bone was completely cleaned of infection? My implant has been in place 5-6 years but apparently has slowly lost bone around it. I suspect bc of bacteria/infection from previous root canal infection. Is there a chance to save my implant at this point by cleaning and bone grafting or need to remove implant and start over? I want to make sure I have a specialist who knows how to treat a case like this. I really don’t want it to fail again. Thank you for the info. I have been trying to figure out why my implant has failed so to avoid it happening again. I’m a healthy and in my 30’s.
So, what should someone do if a 35 year old filling falls out? There is pain, or abnormal tooth sensation. Probably no tooth material left for more drilling+filling. I guess the dentist will say 'root canal'. Should the tooth just be pulled? I wish I had never allowed a dentist to drill it, because I've had cavities that filled in themselves, and some never filled in but never got worse in 25+ years. My view is dentists are out for money, and they don't know all they should about teeth. How are we to decide these things? Make a flowchart for patient decision making 😁
Yes they're about money. I had appointment for root canal last week. The Dr numbed my mouth but as soon as I laid back she was rushing in to drill. I got up, told her nevermind and wanted to leave. She was upset😂 but I did not care. I was scared to death of that needle anyway. I went in my car drove home with a numb mouth. Glad I did.
So, I went to a dentist and he did say 'root canal'. I said I thought a tooth could be refilled, but he said no. He said there won't be enough tooth left after he drills it out some more. And he said that my bone is infected. So, a) I don't understand why they have to drill it out more, but ok, let's say that is true. It doesn't have pain unless a hard nut goes in it and I bite down on it. B) I don't see how root canals solve anything. If my bone has infection from the bacteria in the cavity, don't I need my lymph system to fight it? Don't I need circulation? How does the root canal benefit? I never see that explained. Why not just put a cap on without a root canal? Pain? But I don't have pain. This is very frustrating!!! And we are forced to just do as told because dentist time is worth too much money to explain!! This is really bs!! The system needs changing if we are not even allowed full explanations and understandings!!
@@chadkline4268 after the root canal the tooth is dead its no longer natural its dead infected organic object in your mouth and it will be a breeding ground for bacteria, root canals should not be legal they cause major health issues over time

I had a root canal 8 years ago I also got crown over that tooth but last month the pain started like the really bad pain so dentist suggested to remove the tooth even after 4 hours of procedure the roots are still in the gum and I have so much pain
Did you manage to extract the tooth. I recommend following Eric Berg on youtube and following his keto diet so you have perfect teeth the rest of your life.
My “hot tooth” sensation came back after the root canal. It’s the most sensitive tooth I’ve ever had, so much so that I couldn’t be fully numbed during the procedure either. I felt the very deep pokes and no amount of shots the dentist gave me helped. Now 3 months post op, I’m having migraines, cheek swelling and sharp pains from that tooth. I’ve had several X-rays done since then, but my dentist is insistent that the canals look fine and is convinced it’s the crown not fitting properly. She didn’t detect an infection, but prescribed me antibiotics anyways and drilled down the crown a bit. I’m just supposed to wait and see. Does this sound abnormal?
So means if a tooth need a root canal, just extract it and use implant instead? Especially now the cost of dental implants decrease, and almost as same as the cost of root canal + crown.
I've had damaged 2 front tooth during collision during soccer game as goalkeeper. I've had 2 root canals and crowns. My dentist only takes 2D x rays. How do I know if I have infection if nerves in tooth are removed? My root canal treated teeth feel a bit weird and one has very, very slight pain when I tap on it. My dentist says everything is fine and I wonder if it doesn't hurt his ego if I say I want prescription for 3D cat scan. I don't know if he is aware of this knowladge on hidden infections. I don't wanna come up as some conspiracy theorist.
That is a sign of a bad root canal, I had one root canal my first done by a real pro he took his time each step waiting weeks to make sure the infection was gone before putting the cap on. Zero issues with that first root canal, the second one was done by another dentist years later... its was toxic causing major health issues years later same very slight pain when I first got it done, eventually the pain went away but it was a bad root canal and the real problems was taht bacteria flooding into my blood stream.
@@matmaifizyka6001 The lymph node on the side of the root canal swelled up and my PR lifting weights started to drop over months, 2D xray never seen it. Dentist kept saying it all looks good, gaslighting me that root canals dont cause those issues. I went to a specialist that took the 3d scan, but important to note the specialist said there might be an issue just looking at the 2d scan and listening to me. A bad dentist can ruin your health and 50% of dentist are below average always keep that in mind.
I have a root canal tooth removed ..and the doctor put some bone grafts but smells like rotten eggs and I have headaches and chills on that side of the face.. it mean is infected
I'm 24 and have an appointment for root canal next monday. I'm conflicted as to whether I should just get it extracted and an implant. I've heard bad things from root canals but I figured I could try it as the process for getting it done is shorter and then if it doesn't work I can get the extraction and implant. Main thing is I just want to feel comfortable again where I actually enjoy my life. Currently going through swelling and I've been having trouble with this tooth for two years going to the dentist and they said it was just sinus issues. Seems like they always put off the small pain until its completely fucked but that's what worries me for the root canal, theres been too much farting around the past 2 years and now my tooth is doomed? IDK ill probably make a quick last minute decision but for now its the root canal. Anyone's shared experience of what you think I should do would be helpful.
You can heal absolutely anything in your body with natural human diet. Once you let dentists or doctors touch you you might not reverse the damage they have done
I'm in the same boat, I think I'll go for extraction, so many horror stories about root canals. The American Dental Association says that success rate is 95%...yeah right, I really believe them....that's probably as honest as big pharma saying you need 10 covid boosters...why? All about the money! 🤣
@@brunovincent1969 All the pain went away right after the root canal. bare in mind u wont be able to chew stuff if u get it extracted and an implant would cost a lot more. Im getting permanent crown on it soon but I was going through hell I can always pull the tooth later if it really gives me trouble but im finally doing good
Question - what about vaping as opposed to smoking? I just had a root canal and go back next week to have it finished. They put me on 875mg amoxicillin. First dental appt in 10 years and I waited until my mouth was completely swollen. I was having anxiety attacks in the dentist office, they thought it was because of the root canal but it was just from being in the office and knowing I hadn’t taken care of my teeth when I had the chance!
Say I have a root canal, how often should I get a ct scan for it? Once a year? What is the infection gets systemic within a few months? There's a lot of controversy about root canals, one of the arguments being that the infection is not always completely gone and can show up later on. So what frequency do you recommend after getting root canal to make sure everything is ok?
So what is the alternative to a root canal. When you have throbbing pain and its driving you insane thats all they want to do. Just pull it out?? Have 3 root canal, 2 have crowns. Just had 1 with crown pulled-had infection. Just get them pulled or what other solution is there to save the tooth????
the 3d x-rays are not standard you need to ask for them, and no blood tests wont let you know a bad root canal is flooding bacteria into your body, you will just slowly start to become unhealthy drip drip of the poison. Root canal risks are hidden and if you even mention them you are public enemy number 1 to the industry because it a huge money maker keeps many dentists doors open.
ever since the root canal i feel like shit !! i cant function properly its affecting my concentration i have jaw pain... they dont see nothing on the x ray :(
1st root canal in Nov. & I told my dentist 3 times & endo once that my tooth still hurt. It felt like it did prior to RC! It’s top L molar, #15, & impossible for both Dr’s to work on! I hear their griping. 😅Argh! Guess I was doomed from the start. Endo tried Clindamycin & no help. Crown is waiting for me, but doubt I’ll be able to get it. 😓 Endo opened it back up a few days ago & injected the chloride whatever med/solution & put temporary back in. I have to go back in 2 mos! But it’s pretty sore now. Anyone know if there’s any chance I can save my tooth? ***Edit: 3 mo. later needing quite urgent extraction after simple dental cleaning days prior to pain. On Penicillin & Norco as needed, prior to extraction in 5 days.
Hello I have a question, completely unrelated to the video, but this is your most recent one haha. I recently had wisdom teeth extracted and have been told to rinse w/ warm salt water after every meal & every time I vape. This is about 6-8 times a day. Is there a point where too much salt water can damage the other teeth in your mouth? Also, when should patients stop rinsing with salt water? Thanks!
anyone that wants to place it right away is a hack, remember 50% of all Dentists are below average. 6 weeks after its pulled to make sure all the infection is cleared also should have antisepectic mouth wash and antibiotics after its pulled.
Would you recommend doing a apicoectomy on a failed root canal, then if that fails doing an implant later on down the line? I just want to be able to save my tooth and buy more time to get myself a dental implant.
I had one... And i ended up with a chronic pain in my face... No infection but pain... Dr said that sometimes the nerves or muscles dont heal in thr correct form it's likr a scarf... I regret about this procedure

Just had root canals done by Endodontist on teeth 5 and 6 together.... referring dentist xray showed only one infected tooth...5 days later mild bone discomfort /infection/gum abscess resulted in 10.5 days of of Clindamycin 300mg 3x a day... now abscess area red but not swollen , 2 weeks til restorations done.....should I get a follow up 3day xray and if so when?? thx!

I'm about to get a root canal, I think I'll opt for an extraction, the dentist in this video says it himself , he gets failed root canals "by the hour" ! ;)

Part 2 of 4:
I think @JD-mm7ur should have stated that ‘chronically infected root canals’, whether root canal treated (RCT) or not, (aka apical periodontist) is a precursor for systemic disease which includes CVDs.
Part 4 of 4:
It is time for us all to wake up.
Me too. After a month of infections and 2 failed root canal, an oral surgeon extracted the tooth. Best decision.
If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of dentures did u settle with? Upper or lower or both? How was it getting used to?
Wish I had known then what I've learned now the worst way possible!!😢 6+yrs ago had ALL my teeth root canaled in hopes of avoiding where I ended up today 🥺 2 1/2 weeks out from having ALL my root canaled teeth extracted & on this journey of getting snap in dentures 😣 Had no idea this amount of pain for this duration even existed!! 💔 I've had several 'obstacles' along this path of healing but my biggest fear is of anything going wrong w the implants 😭😭😭😭 I'm obsessed w/ cleaning these temp dentures that have been just pure agony since day one combined w/ the salt water rinses ⚠️
My surgeon changed plans w/o my knowledge (or consent) & decided to go w/ conscious sedation rather then general- I had advised them all of my need for general (I don't get numb) plus concious sedation meds do not work on me- he learned the hard (I suffered thru hell for it), needless to say, had to return 4 days later to have bottom extractions done under GENERAL ANESTHESIA 📈📈📈
Praying for the day, I can find the light at the end of this nightmare 😭😭
A failed root canal has left a hole in my jaw, large enough to put a finger through. Next comes a bone graft😞
How are you doing now? What did you decide to do going forward?
Thanks Dr. for bringing out this information.
@@johnmcclean343 Is it possible for a decayed tooth to die on its own if its been long enough? And would a RC be worth it at that point if so ?

But you are so right, I had no idea this tooth was infected until I went to my regular dentist for cleaning and she discovered deep pockets, but never any pain to warn me
hard to tell without looking at your 3d scan
look into a zirconia bridge and whether you're a good candidate.

Thanks.
Get it removed! No more bacteria
Are you saying dentists killed your tooth at age 8? Or did you have an accident? And here I am complaining about the root canals I had in my 20s.
I am so sorry you must be really frustrated and upset.

Honestly root canal seems crazy to put a tooth that’s dead and not know if it’s infected and could lead to constant stress on you immune system and the toxins will cause heart disease and strokes and because your immune system is under all the times cancer would be high chance

Thanks for honesty!
Wow. This is so helpful. Thank you!!

I had this done 2 1/2 weeks ago .. my dentist hasn’t gotten back to me. .
yeah your dentist is incompetent, your sensitivity and throbbing is probably gone now but its a bad root canal you wont know this for a few years
Hi, thank you for this video.
I'm in the same situation as you. What ended up happening?
Glad I did.
@@sassyluv1242did you get your money back ?

What’s it like to have a missing tooth? What are the risks?
Can you tell me what’s wrong with me?
Does this sound abnormal?
my god, so many red flags, didnt detect infection but gave you antibiotics? I would definitely get a 2nd opinion from another dentist.
Sounds like symptoms of a crack tooth. Antibiotics will make you better, but the infection will come back again.
@@xomox5316 how did you discover your root canal failed? You got ct scan or just 2D x ray?
Im getting permanent crown on it soon but I was going through hell I can always pull the tooth later if it really gives me trouble but im finally doing good
I have 3rc's, they are still fine :)
@TJBoogie What did you end up doing? How is your tooth holding up now if you went with the root canal?
Question - what about vaping as opposed to smoking? I just had a root canal and go back next week to have it finished. They put me on 875mg amoxicillin. First dental appt in 10 years and I waited until my mouth was completely swollen. I was having anxiety attacks in the dentist office, they thought it was because of the root canal but it was just from being in the office and knowing I hadn’t taken care of my teeth when I had the chance!
Excellent 🙏
Thanks a lot
Say I have a root canal, how often should I get a ct scan for it? Once a year? What is the infection gets systemic within a few months? There's a lot of controversy about root canals, one of the arguments being that the infection is not always completely gone and can show up later on. So what frequency do you recommend after getting root canal to make sure everything is ok?
Just reg checkups and bite wings ev. 24months. If radiolucency and/or symptoms, then 3d scan
Clove oil
What about an apicoectomy on a RCT tooth? Would that be better for a future implant tooth?
I know i had atleast 2-3 root canals and noth dentist tell me i never had one! Are they instructed to say this to avoid medical lawsuits?
I came and saw you this week and I have no pain….how much time do I have? I emailed the office but never received a response.
hmm sorry about that. must be the holidays. call us or email at contact@northtexasdentalsurgery.com
So if you have root canals is it standard to check them with the better X-rays periodically? Could blood tests identify these infections?
the 3d x-rays are not standard you need to ask for them, and no blood tests wont let you know a bad root canal is flooding bacteria into your body, you will just slowly start to become unhealthy drip drip of the poison. Root canal risks are hidden and if you even mention them you are public enemy number 1 to the industry because it a huge money maker keeps many dentists doors open.

How do you feel about an apioectomy?
Images is so fuzzy. I have some problem. What do I do?
Hello I have a question, completely unrelated to the video, but this is your most recent one haha.
I recently had wisdom teeth extracted and have been told to rinse w/ warm salt water after every meal & every time I vape. This is about 6-8 times a day.
Is there a point where too much salt water can damage the other teeth in your mouth? Also, when should patients stop rinsing with salt water? Thanks!
Is it ok to place the bone graft immediately after extraction or should you wait and see if the infection has cleared?
anyone that wants to place it right away is a hack, remember 50% of all Dentists are below average.

Implant can't be done in same day
Hello, is it absolutely necessary to use ct scan (3d) to see about a possible failed RCT? *asking cuz i hear its more radiation plus not many clinics have em*

Is it normal to have an adjacent teeth next to the bone graft become loose?
no. would have to see the X-rays before and after surgery to see why
