I just want to say a thank you from the deepest pet of my heart. I tried and tried against this boss to the point to where I felt like this was going to hang over me for a while. Your guide was the easiest to follow and the most concise. Thank you for being able to get closure for this game. You are awesome!!
Played through this game as Octopath 2 was announced. Can't believe i slept on it for so long. Many thanks for this video mate as there would be no way I'd have the patience or time to attempt this blind over and over again with that boss gauntlet at the start. To anyone reading, don't sleep on the skill patience and equip it to anyone not dealing damage. Saved me big time in the last phase of the fight.
Finally, beat the boss after 3 attempts! Thank you for this guide! Phase 2 is a pain. Definitely had luck on my side. LET'S GO OCTOPATH TRAVELER 2!!!!!!!!!!
After 5 attempts and many hours of grinding, I finally beat Galdera thanks to your video. Second phase took an extra turn to deal damage for some reason and everything started going to hell until I could get off a charity and go back to spamming Jams.
Two tips to make the fight significantly easier (And this video made a good example in dealing the following 2 situations): In phase 1, try to kill off all souls at once. If you kill one of them first the eye will just summon a new one and keep being invincible. In the second phase, break Galdera AT ALL COST right after killing all body parts. Galdera's first move after all minions being removed will be Banish Souls, which reduces party's HP to 1 and removes all BPs. But if you break it before this move, you get 5 free BPs for each member. This is an all or nothing situation. Don't waste time buffing or healing while you have the chance to break.
Lewis just get lucky for your warmaster not to die and also get a character with stand strong (if I’m wrong it’s the 3rd merchant skill) and cover to make sure they cover your war master and allow him to do winnehild’s battle cry. Also give a pomegranate (M) to your master. If you have already beat it this means nothing, but to anyone who hasn’t your welcome. And how I know this works I just beat it today 😃😃😃😃
@@lewis9s The same is happening to me ! Since the ennemis make us unable to use magic against theses souls, maybe we should use the elementary stones to break them ?
It took me a pretty hard 1.5 days to get through Phase 1 and was completely unable to get through Phase 2. I watched a lot of youtubers, but finally found you. Your team is almost the same as mine. So I just installed the same Passive Skills as you. And you know what? My team's strength increased 3.5 times. Great, excellent, wonderfull. It took me the first time to get used to the new skill set. And the 2nd time is easy to pass Phase 2 (Now Phase 1 is too easy). I really thank you very much. Respect, Like and Subcrise for you. (I used Google Translate, sorry for my english)
I tried again and again to find a guide to the final fight that showed the entire thing and was easy for me to understand and yours was it! Thank you so much for all the time you put into this and your endgame build guide video, it certainly paid off for me!
Thank you so much for these series of videos. I’m not very experienced with RPGs and these builds really helped me with the final boss(which I attempted like 10 times and not even coming close to the second phase). After watching I beat him on the first try. Subbing to you and looking forward to future videos. Thanks again brother and keep up the good work.
I love how I used to think my Therion was doing high damage (he was my main) when he was hitting the 23k or so and i see your Haanit just doing casually 60k
I know I’m coming a little bit late, but your tips where VERY useful. I failed 3 times before I managed to beat this boss but it was worth it. Thank you my friend 👍
I'm with you. But don't break your Switch over it. Just view the ending on UA-cam. Loved the games art style and story, but was a mess this post game part was. It really ruined what i thought was overall an excellent game, ruined by poor game development choices. You expect a lot better from Square Enix.
For some reason I can't see any comments although it says there are 25 comments at the top. Tried closing the browser and opening again but no luck. Also if you want to skip to the build I believe it starts at 12:18 .
I'd love to see one on the post game diary you get telling how everything is connected, I am not going to have time to go through the post game with back to school upon us .I'm starting chapter 3s and that and chapter 4s will be all I can do if I even get the 4s done
I had to see how far you lvld up hannit. So I went back to the damn maw of the ice dragon. I found the caits, and after much avail I had to get everyone at good enough lvl. My lord. Don’t even step if hannit isn’t even near lvl 75 everyone. Manny thanks! You made the eye a cruise, but still had to hope the dice were rolled in my favor to beat the second portion. (Just got obliterated first couple times battling it/him?..) How many ppl went in there and realized they didn’t equip jobs, skills, weapons, and armor to your secondary party. Nothing like spending a solid 45 minutes beating the eye to see hannit in her hunters garb with no weapons equipped in the second half....thanks again, and a big shout out to bewildering grace that had half my party at lv 70 at chapter two lol.
it is so unnecessary for you to have to beat the 8 bosses again just to fight the boss. it is a massive waste of time. This would be like losing to wily in a megaman game and having to start back at the boss rush again. I still can't beat this boss. Even at my level, the first form did 4k damage with its explosion attack. Those adds also have way way too much HP. You think a boosted magic attack would kill in one shot but nope. they start poisoning you, crazy magic attacks and then the eye starts buffing them or it uses that orb attack to ohko my party members. I need a way to farm some of the BP recovery items.
I actually have over 58 jams. i have so much that it started a second stock of it. i do need some large energizing pomegranate though which i can get by dueling poor lianna over and over again. Or if you know any easy enemies i can get those from.
I agree, I'm at Lvl 72 with all my party and my MC is at LVL 80. I'm able to cheese thru all 8 bosses without fail since my current built can do damage of 40-50K. Still, I can't beat this boss! I can last a long time... Last time I checked I was just battling for two hours on the eye phase alone before he got bored with me and one-shot my entire party! Just like that, two hours were wasted and I didn't even make a dent to his health. I have a hard time when he spawns all three of them. I managed to match all the weak elements but by that time If I kill one or two of them all of my buffs or BP are gone or cleared away by the eye. Sometimes the eye will re-spawn right away the one/two souls I've killed. This is way too frustrating and ridiculously hard! Especially, when the entire game I was never killed nor had this much trouble beating a boss, not even Direwolf!
@@NnLiMedia my party for phase 1 was Therion as a merchant Alfyn as a hunter Cyrus as a cleric Olberic as a dancer 2nd phase party Ha'anit as a Thief Tressa as a scholar Primrose as a cleric Ophilia as a warrior
Here to say thanks this vid worked! I just beat him today, but I did some things different. I had Olberic as the Warmaster and hannit as the apothecary. Also put hang tough on everyone but Olberic, along with saving grace so we could survive the first round of phase 2 easier.
Btw my phase 1 was Cyrus Sorcerer (using elemental break and spamming Lux while under Primrose's divine cleric buff), Therion Hunter (using his dagger to break the eye and using armor corrosive and his ult for 30k aoe damage), Primrose Cleric (spamming Aelferic's mostly and using peacock on Cyrus), Haniit Apothecary (spamming dothery's charity and using revitalizing jams on team). My second phase was a 1 hp Alfyn Warmaster (waiting paitently for his chance to use his wombo combo), Oberic Thief (using incite first turn, saving Alfyn's ass until he gets his turn, then breaking galdera on the second turn with the multiple spear attack warrior ability), Ophelia Starseer (basically just using pomegranate L and her spear to break galdera), Tressa Runelord (also just using pomegranate L and using spear to break galdera in second turn). On the third turn it was over. GG!
@JustOneclick put all the full last set of weapon on haanit (i am not sure of the name in french it is "du combattant, wich would be of the fighter but I think I've read it to be battle-tested) equip the following aptitude : the one that gets you stronger when low hp (fortitude). The one that buff your physical damage automaticly (last warmaster apt) and the last warrior skill that allow you to go 99999, for the last one pick +50 ad if yiu dont have anything better for damage. For the armor equip everything that gives you more damage and/or critic. You should be around 870-999 atck damage for every weapon and here you go.
:/ I just realize today that the stats on weapons only work on the last one you've used to do basic attack in battle. I was happily stacking evasion on every weapon for Therion...
I have the same Built with Haanit as Warmaster. I can go thru the 8 bosses pretty fast but for some reason I can't deal with Galdera! Too hard. I do have a similar party setup, levels and stats. So, from all the strategies I've done I think I can use yours to finally defeat this hard boss! I still love this game so much tho! It just saddens me that I can't finish it properly by defeating this boss!
Great video and great strategy i'm definately gonna try this. If you could only tell us which skills you used for Olberic and Primerose it would be great cause you didn't show it in the video. Thx!
I know about support skills but its really not that easy to do I kept trying n trying so I. just need more time in my mind n yes paddle tested blade is really strong and surpassing power is even better but theres a bunch of sentence to do I need help
Years late but thanks for the strategy. Beat it on my 2nd try. Failed the first time because I forgot that I wasn't supposed to be trying to the Dohter's Charity + Revitalizing Jam combo in the 2nd phase. On the second try, Galdera nuked my party with the ice attack on the first turn so I spent a few turns trying to recover from that but eventually managed to scrape together a few attacks from Olberic which ended the game.
In the first phase of the Galdera fight, you mentioned that only Cyrus can break ele Def. Not true. Alfyn could have concocted a ruinous seed with plum to break the bosses ele def.
I used this same setup to for the second part of the fight with Warmaster H'annit, the other 3 characters were way under leveled for this( 1 was 50 other 2 were in the 30s) and just used support items to get her in range for damage.
Managed to beat son of a B. a few minutes ago. I know what you mean by: "ranging from unfair to easy." The second form almost insta-killed me with a 3-hit lightning strike, doing about 4k damage. If you don't have the right party setup, you're gonna have a bad time... The spurning ribbon....well, it would have been awesome if you could have used it in a new game+ or something. Visiting all end game areas with your lvl 5 party without having to worry about random encounters and getting all the loot :)
Thanks :D Yeah, NG+ would be great. A question: Have you ever captured a cait/chubby cait? Haven't done this myself, but they seem to give you some OP buffs.
I had a similar build to yours for the second battle with galdera, but after my first turn wombo combo with wilhelm's I got hit with a 1 hp 0 bp move as the first move by galdera on the second turn, and was completely screwed from there XD
@@the_jingo Mine were in the 70s and I lost to the first phase and keep in mind every RPG I played I beat the final bosses first try. Even Sephiroth was nothing compared to me! Galdera is the only one who did what none of them could do and actually beat me and I'm an RPG Veteran! So nice try in bullying someone for losing to the hardest final boss in any RPG!
There are 19,958,400 builds using the 8 characters and 12 jobs in a 4 member party. If you include the number of support skills the number is astronomical.
Had no trouble with the first phase, but got to the second phase, Olberic went first so I didn't get the chance to set up Winnhild and then the boss one shot my entire level 65 party before anyone else even got to move. All of my characters had full HP well above 3,000, Olberic had 5,000, with average 750 or so in both defense categories. Insane.
What exactly killed you? Damage numbers skyrocket in the second phase if you let Lylac buff the other parts. Starseer's celestial intervention, or any NPC with full enfeeblement prevents this. Defense buffs are also pretty useful. Merchant's hired help buffs defense, and Elemental Edge/Physical Prowess permanently ups those stats too. And putting saving grace on top of all that is just overkill.
Just spent two hours killing all the bosses. I went up the stairs to fight the final one and I had to make two parties. I had absolutely no idea what to do. To kill the 8 bosses I used: Cyrus-sorceror H'aanit-warmaster Tressa-runelord Alfyn-dancer This team was working amazing because I had Cyrus and h'aanit kill everything, Alfyn max out everyone's BP and heal everyone and I had tressa using all her runes to make us invincible and make h'aanits physical attacks even stronger. I thought I would just do this for the last battle as well. However I had to make a 2nd team. Yay. I had absolutely no plan whatsoever for the other 4. I thought I would make Olberic, prim, therion and Ophilia do the "easier" part, then I got completely destroyed. I grinded to make my original team amazing and I sort of just left the other 4. I'm kinda mad but all I can do is laugh.
Winnie The Poop this is exactly what happened to me too! I had Ophelia, Prim, Cyrus and H’aanit then was left with stuff all come the last battle 😤 grinding is hard af too
I just beat the first form of the boss. If you can get light rune on everybody especially Cyrus he will smoke this boss even faster with elemental break plus bright pursuit. I was doing over 100,000 damage with elemental break + bright pursuit with auspices.
it sucks that you can't save in between the 8 bosses and the final bad.. cause after losing to the final bad, I'm never going back to fighting all those 8 again just to get to him.
How in the hell do you get Winnehild’s battle cry THAT damn powerful?!! Where do y’all learn how to do this stuff? I need to learn this trick like NOW. I just got to the end and I need to know how you do this like ASAP
Just gave this a try for the first time.... oh boy... I think my mistake was actually going for the weaknesses of those adds. Fought this thing for about 30 mins., I maybe did around 300k dmg to it. Then one of those things exploded and did around 8k dmg, killing my entire party..... Then I was like: "Fck u game!" XD But seriously, doing this whole gauntlet over again is very annoying. Seems the divine skills of cleric and apothecary are a necessity here
I keep getting killed with that explosion move... I use concoct a lot and it helps but sometimes it doesn't as much since the eye keeps killing the party members I buff right after in one single shot. And all my characters are around lvl 70-80...
Literally just beat the final boss just now. Holy shit, Galdera kicked my ass 5 times. So party setup. First phase party: Hunter Olberic, Cleric Primrose, Merchant Therion, Sorcerer Cyrus Second phase party: Warmaster H'aanit, Starseer Ophilia, Thief Tressa, Dancer Alfyn. Alfric's auspice on Cyrus for first phase for all your breaking/damage needs and also Hunter Olberic is necessary for breaking top soul. Keep party up and keep bp and buffs running on cyrus and phase 1 is easy. (Also thunder resist amulets are really good) Phase 2 I just gave bp to H'aanit and buffed her for her divine. And I spammed it a few times to one shot the adds. Make sure you get buffs/debuffs off for H'aanit from Alfyn/Tressa then they can probably die, although having their bodies to soak meteor storm is nice. Ophelia and H'aanit are the main ones that need to be up. (Also, fire resistance amulets are ridiculous for the meteor storms.) Fun fight, hope to optimize it to make it safer overally
I spent 1 hour and 48 minutes got the first phase in the red then died. If I can’t even get past phase one with this method at level 70+ how tf am I supposed to kill it’s last phase?!
If you still haven’t beaten it, watching this is way better. Link: m.ua-cam.com/video/ACzvqP82Ibw/v-deo.html The equipment is in the description. Edit: If you don’t have some of the equipment, searching it up on the OctopathWiki is an actual godsend.
So ya, this game needs a new game plus. I’m level 60 by the time I unlocked this and there’s no way I’m just gonna farm 20 levels more. Oh well, I will play vicariously through UA-cam. GG y’all
everytime i think the amount of damage i did to this boss is absurd, you somehow do 5x as much XD. never thought about using a danger mario strat for this. I just used the transfer rune/sidetep and scrambled to heal everyone up when he used the heartless angel attack or debuffed my entire party. But somehow, i managed to beat the second phase on my very first try against it.
When I did this the first time I thought it would be easy, I just massacred the bosses with runelor and cyrus basically, then Galdera came... and the game turned into hell
Thank for your tips. i wachted all of them. i just beated final boss today with haanit 1hp. i failed 5 times before. Anyways, good game. P/s: i like your voice xD
Man I don't what I'm doing wrong, followed your video to a t and im 21 attempts with 1 time getting to the second phase of this figh, and obviously unsuccessful so 21 unsuccessful attempt. All my characters are in their 80's I just don't get it.................
I hate how there was no save point before you face off against the big bad, having to go through all eight mini bosses to get another chance. Dreadful choice whoever chose to do that for this part.
Just wanted to say thank you for this video. I got demolished by the final boss about 6 times. 1 Hp Fortitude H'annit made me beat the phase 2 boss in 3 turns.

I know what you mean by: "ranging from unfair to easy."
The second form almost insta-killed me with a 3-hit lightning strike, doing about 4k damage.
If you don't have the right party setup, you're gonna have a bad time...
The spurning ribbon....well, it would have been awesome if you could have used it in a new game+ or something.
Visiting all end game areas with your lvl 5 party without having to worry about random encounters and getting all the loot :)
Final phase is pretty RNG. Congratz on beating it^^
I'd love NG+ for this game..
Thanks :D
Yeah, NG+ would be great.
A question: Have you ever captured a cait/chubby cait?
Haven't done this myself, but they seem to give you some OP buffs.
Thanks for the strategy guide, really precious. Why didn’t you show the full equipment of all your chars? I’d like to have a sneak peek :P
I had a similar build to yours for the second battle with galdera, but after my first turn wombo combo with wilhelm's I got hit with a 1 hp 0 bp move as the first move by galdera on the second turn, and was completely screwed from there XD
thank you so much. so helpfull!
Where are the exact builds? And how do you prevent leveling up between boss fights?
I know I'm really late to this but what are your classes, equipment and skill set up?
i'm sure i probably missed this explanation in an earlier video but why H'aanit over Olberic as ur brute-force damage dealer?
Galdera killed everyone in my party on the 1st phase before I could do literally anything
Eleon is your party like level 30 or something lmao
That would be amazing if I reached the final boss with only level 30s lol
@@the_jingo Mine were in the 70s and I lost to the first phase and keep in mind every RPG I played I beat the final bosses first try. Even Sephiroth was nothing compared to me! Galdera is the only one who did what none of them could do and actually beat me and I'm an RPG Veteran! So nice try in bullying someone for losing to the hardest final boss in any RPG!
what skills you using on the 2nd party?
There are 19,958,400 builds using the 8 characters and 12 jobs in a 4 member party. If you include the number of support skills the number is astronomical.
Your guide really helps because I've lost all will to play this game...
Can Olberic act the same as Haanit as far as dooms day build?
To kill the 8 bosses I used:
Cyrus-sorceror
H'aanit-warmaster
Tressa-runelord
Alfyn-dancer
This team was working amazing because I had Cyrus and h'aanit kill everything, Alfyn max out everyone's BP and heal everyone and I had tressa using all her runes to make us invincible and make h'aanits physical attacks even stronger.
I had Ophelia, Prim, Cyrus and H’aanit then was left with stuff all come the last battle 😤 grinding is hard af too
Thanks for this video! Fully copied your strategy after failing 5 times in a row on the final boss. XD
I just beat the first form of the boss. If you can get light rune on everybody especially Cyrus he will smoke this boss even faster with elemental break plus bright pursuit. I was doing over 100,000 damage with elemental break + bright pursuit with auspices.
Oh wow thanks
it sucks that you can't save in between the 8 bosses and the final bad.. cause after losing to the final bad, I'm never going back to fighting all those 8 again just to get to him.
The point of it is to badly punish you if you lose
How in the hell do you get Winnehild’s battle cry THAT damn powerful?!! Where do y’all learn how to do this stuff? I need to learn this trick like NOW. I just got to the end and I need to know how you do this like ASAP
Maybe with the capacity that let you make more than 9 999 damages
Just gave this a try for the first time.... oh boy...
I think my mistake was actually going for the weaknesses of those adds.
Fought this thing for about 30 mins., I maybe did around 300k dmg to it.
Then one of those things exploded and did around 8k dmg, killing my entire party.....
Then I was like: "Fck u game!" XD
But seriously, doing this whole gauntlet over again is very annoying.
Same but 2 hours
OMG, OMG, OMG I was finally able to BEAT HIM!!!! YEEEEEES!!
Literally just beat the final boss just now. Holy shit, Galdera kicked my ass 5 times.
So party setup.
First phase party:
Hunter Olberic, Cleric Primrose, Merchant Therion, Sorcerer Cyrus
Second phase party:
Warmaster H'aanit, Starseer Ophilia, Thief Tressa, Dancer Alfyn.
Alfric's auspice on Cyrus for first phase for all your breaking/damage needs and also Hunter Olberic is necessary for breaking top soul. Keep party up and keep bp and buffs running on cyrus and phase 1 is easy. (Also thunder resist amulets are really good)
Phase 2 I just gave bp to H'aanit and buffed her for her divine. And I spammed it a few times to one shot the adds. Make sure you get buffs/debuffs off for H'aanit from Alfyn/Tressa then they can probably die, although having their bodies to soak meteor storm is nice. Ophelia and H'aanit are the main ones that need to be up. (Also, fire resistance amulets are ridiculous for the meteor storms.)
Fun fight, hope to optimize it to make it safer overally
Thank god for you.
The days before we realized Therion Warlock is best
What should I make my therion?
@@Hxmza_ Warlock
@@ValinSDS what job combinations are those? I'm new to the game
Weird... I thought you would want H'annit and Olberic leading separate groups since there both big physical DPS with Olberic more so a Tank.
Which equipment do you have on?
Is there a fast way to get haanit to 1 hp
I never got past the end of the first phase, when the souls need to be attacked with magic but their weakness change each time
Nice guide! Thank you very much =)
Final boss:
"Untouched"
Mate.
thanks for the vid lol was trying other ways but found this the easiest.
thank god cover saved my ass from losing again
Thank you! Got him first try :)
Great game! Still missing it!
Great help! I beat it first time with your guide!!!
I finally fucking did!! Thank you man! I Finally beat the game, thanks to you! Subscribed!!
for so long i was wtf is this ever gonna heal hannit? what a cheeky bastard lol
Finally beat this guy today after about 10 tries! WOOO
Congrats on completing Post game. I'm still so far away since I've only just completed Chapter 1 for everyone. XD
My H’aanit leveled up during in the last fight of the 8 bosses and now she has full HP
Pls help idk what to do?????
let her die in of the 8 boss es
Using some buffing skills and armor corrosive i managed to hit for 99999 on every hit (except staff) of the warmaster divine skill
Idk how to send these to you but i have screenshots of my damage numbers
Is there a way to retry the fight after beating it? I screwed up and overwrite my data. Ahhhh
Go to the title screen and check you auto save
That second fight was a NUT
Steelwhale
Yeah if you attack first. But he attacked first and one shotted my whole team
