Edit: After nearly three days of grinding, leveling and making sure everyone had their proper support skill/equpiment/etc, I beat the final boss. ***Thank you*** so much for this guide. I actually ended up using Starseer's critical rate boost on H'aanit and won in four/five turns. Thank you again, have a good one.
The Dancer's SP recovery is situationally better than SP saver on Therion. Gaining back 15+ SP after every skill use lets you use boosted Share SP and not have 0 sp for Steal SP on the next turn.
It's better than SP Saver for a lot more than just that reason. If you think about it, the most expensive spells cost what, 30 some SP to use? Later in the game your SP total should be enough to where the Dancer's SP Regen skill should be healing well over 15 SP, so you'll actually be getting more out of that than SP Saver. & that isn't even counting the times when you use cheaper spells, as you'll be gaining a LOT more back when that happens! On top of that, you can top off your SP at any time with the SP Regen by just attacking for a few turns. You can't regain SP at all with SP Saver. I'd say that SP Regen ability is definitely better!
I’m so tempted to go for these but it’s hard to let go of my Warmaster Therion because his ability to steal SP makes up for how COSTLY warmaster skills are - without having to fill up a support skill slot with a passive SP restore. Also, his crop top.
Apothecary and warmaster between H’aanit and Olberic are interchangeable in my opinion. I think it depends on whether you prefer multi-targeting spears or arrows, and I feel that enemies weak to spears are slightly more common than those to bows. Then again, physical prowess renders abide and stout wall useless
Not quite. Those attacks add a hefty accuracy penalty, and H’aanit's accuracy is much better than Olberic. She'll be able to utilize those abilities far better than Olberic can. Additionally, her equivalent (rain of arrows) costs 60% less SP while only having 20% less attacks while her other ability (arrowstorm) hits all enemies 5 to 8 times for only 4 SP more.
@WarMonkeyPlays you are correct with the accuracy. Hunters naturally have higher accuracy but I have proved this before: Warriors have higher physical attack. So if you want more damage choose Olberic and if you want accuracy choose H’aaint. It’s really an either or but it really doesn’t make that huge of a difference. I used Olberic as my warmaster in some I used H’aaint as my warmaster. Hope this helps you
@@garyowens7665 I agree the difference isn't huge, and you can use either of them and still have a good warmaster. You are mistaken on Obleric having higher physical attack though. It's been proven before: he and H'aanit are tied in that stat. However, H'aanit beats Obleric in both crit and accuracy.
@@WarMonkeyPlays diffrence between the stats of hannit and Obleric as warmaster is bearly noticable tbh but Olberic is by far the tankiest apothocary. As warmaster she is more accurate and hes slightly more tanky. Guess comes down to if you want your warmaster to tank slightly more damage or hit slightly more often but not really by much.
I also prefer h’aanit as my sorcerer (when pumped with seeds) Leghold on first turn sets herself up for her nuke on the next turn (no need for boosting) Ophilia boosts her with Aelfric. Prim does peacock dance...and you’re good to go. I like cyrus as my warmaster (again, seeded) so that he’s a jack of all trades for breaking. Another nice thing about h’aanit as sorcerer is that her beasts don’t rely on her stats...so you can still bring a bunch of triple-strike beasts or end game beasts for physical damage/breaking. She also becomes a jack of all trades
Yeah I was thinking about it, and I was hesitant because I use Cleric Therion in all my videos + streams. People want to see a video dedicated to him, though, so it's super likely!
I went with this build: Olberic Runelord: Gives him the axe, which he uses well. He has a high enough elemental stat to make it work. He can also give Abide or Stout Wall to everyone. Haanit Warmaster: Gives her all the weapons and she is able to max out this class the best of everyone. Only problem is that she doesn't have enough SP to really make it work great. Warmaster skills cost a lot of SP. Alfyn Thief: Gives him the sword and the dagger, which he can use well, and debuff spells work well in tandem with his healing skills. Tressa Apocathery: Gives her the axe, which she has the strength to use well, and gives her healing skills, rounding her out better as a true red mage, which she kinda was to begin with. Cyrus Sorceror: The scholar job class really becomes obsolete after you get the sorceror class. The only way to make Cyrus useful is to give him the upgrade so he can do real elemental damage. Ophelia Starseer: Makes her better in a support role. Also, she is one of the few characters who have a magic stat high enough to really make certain skills work. Primrose Cleric: I give her this build even before I get the advanced jobs. She is there for support, and it gives her more support options. She is one of the few who has enough SP to really be useful at this class. Therion Merchant: Gives him the spear and the bow, which he has the attack power to use well. Also gives him support abilities like Charge!, which gives all characters defense buffs. Combine that with his debuffing, and he becomes almost a one-stop shop for buffing/debuffing.
What you want 2 of is Cleric for it's Divine Skill. It is the best Divine Skill in the game easily. Having a move execute twice is just stupid overpowered!
Funny thing is that my therion has 850 evasion by equipping him with mikk and makk’s shield, falcon hat, silent cape and 2 enlightening bracelets with a few evasion boosting nuts
I’m late to the party, but I’m surprised you don’t have any starseers. I thought you’d give it to Ophelia since you donate BP with her anyways and using starseer is much more effective at that.
Nice job. Thanks for another video it's great keep up the good work. Surprisingly, you are one of the only youtubers who are covering this game. Thanks again.
I know right! I’m about half way through the game and it’s so inspiring to watch someone so committed to JRPGs. I love them and I started playing them when Xenoblade Chronicles 2 came out and I’m excited for Torna the Golden Country. Thanks for responding.😄
I use that on him as much as possible, would choose it over Boost Start every time. Use Concoct to boost everyone's BP once and if you get it for free you have out-done Boost Start.
There’s a fire dagger as well. So prim can have dual fire element as a runeblade. And there’s an ice-staff as well. So Cyrus a ophilia can have dual ice (when using battle tested axe) So i don’t think Tressa necessarily edges them out with the damage. But she does have more utility. I personally prefer prim as a runeblade, because i can use sealtige on my starseer, and bring along a follower (and she looks awesome). But yes, technically Tressa is the best
Can you really only get the Battle Tested weapons after you beat the Chapter 4's? Cus I know you can fight any of the NPC's that drop them basically any time! They only have a 2% drop rate, but still! Do they really not drop them at all til you beat everyone's Chapter 4?
I find Therion's elem defence too low with too little payoff. a hunter alfyn is just as good late game. I loke dumping magic nuts on him for a +60% fire build and using hunter early game for patk+speed for aebers, as well as leghold/arrowstorm. I usually use hunter early game then dump magic on him once I get sorcerer. I also have the ability to use tradewinds bow and bishop/Absolute Zero staff if I want.
I just started playing Octopath Traveler, and after trying out each traveler, I’ve decided to main Ophelia, who I liked best. While I’m not aiming to min-max, I still want the party to synergize and feel good to play. I’m more focused on the experience and role-playing aspect rather than optimizing every detail. That said, I’m leaning toward a more “noble” playstyle with Ophelia since it fits her character. For instance, stealing wouldn’t feel right. I also really liked Tressa, who’s noble as well, so she’s a lock for my second slot. H’aanit was my second pick for a main character, but she’s labeled as rogue. However, she doesn’t seem particularly immoral, so the noble/rogue distinction seems flexible depending on the character and action. So, could anyone help me form a synergistic party around Ophelia? Tressa is set as my second. Who would be good choices for the third and fourth slots? Is H’aanit a good fit thematically, or would she clash? What’s your take on the noble vs rogue dynamic? I want the party to feel cohesive both in playstyle and theme. Some characters might care about stealing, while others wouldn’t. If I can, I'd eventually create a second party more open to rogue behavior later on.
i dont get it, if you barely attack with the sword on thereion you are barely getting the speed buff for the next turn? or does the speed already count for the beginning of the battle because the sword is the first weapon in order? pls explain =D
I don't see the value in Boost Start... Starting with 1BP just doesn't sound that great, I think BP+2 would be more exciting. I started with Alfyn, so I can Concoct group BP if I want (but horde my ingredients LOL). Also Therion+Merchant can donate BP if he's bored, another staple for me.
Boost start is useful for me on cleric because i can use alferics auspices on turn two on the sorcerer - who will now attack twice in one turn and burn shields incredibly quick with no chances of missing It was how I beat the bosses in the warmaster and runelord shrines.
Funny, I came to this squad naturally on my first run (still am on first run, 35 hours in a few days hehe) They just have such great chemistry. Also chose thief for Haanit and hunter for Therion because very good utility, high damage, tressa is a dancer too for Cyrus (sounds dirty) and Cyrus is a physical/elemental hybrid death machine
How on earth do you reach 80 level? I am 45-50 at 4 members and the other 4 are at 20..and i done everything except the true last boss. What did you do kill foxes at the woods for a week? :P Great video btw
Xegnas Line ophelia, tressa, prim. Tressa can do anything, and it adds more support to the other two. If you want thereon as an off support since he has 2 out of 3 debuffs it's an idea
Alfyn for sure. Everything dancer does Starseer does better IMO especially since almost everyone has attack boosts already through skills and you can't attack up on top of them.
Are there any viable builds for H'aanit other than Warmaster? Me being the idiot I am, didn't realise the nuts were finite and wasted all of my phys nuts on Warmaster Therion. That, and my H'aanit is 10 levels lower than my second lowest party member, and 30 behind my highest.
Unfortunately Cyrus is the worst Sorcerer since that class doesn't really give him anything he can't already do :(. i usually make him a merchant for his chapter 4, then kind of bench him, but he gets a ton of play early / mid game so I guess it balances out.
Idk if you are still interested in the answer but Elemental Edge is far superior to Augmented Elements. Not only don't you have a need for a dancer anymore due to you having a permanent Elemental Attack Buff on you but it also increases the damage by around 50%. Augmented Elements only does 20% more. While Augmented Elements can mean more damage with a dancer on your team, it's more unreliable with turn order and everything. It just limits you and since you can only have 4 support skills, there are simply better choices for those slots.
If rly feels like all the best support skills are locked in the final 4 jobs 😅 would you change anything about these builds after 2 years later have gone by?
Sorcerer on Prim is arguably better since she has access to dagger (extra dark damage)! As for Therion and E.Def, since he can reliably steal SP, it's easy to just set up reflective veils, negating the damage and in turn, doing more damage to the enemy (as a result of the lower E.def).
Im using olberic over haanit... Olberic(leader) Primrose Alfyn Tressa Thats my main party, but i frequently shift one character in/out to do all the character quests
Boost start is completely useless in boss fights as they are going to last longer anyway. I'm also not much of a fan of the way Therion is set up, nor his equipment. his focus should be on buffing/debuffing, not sharing SP. Focusing his equipment for Share SP is kind of silly when there's Alfyn's Concoct and Inspiriting Plums.
Darian Hopkins tressa can do just about everything. Jack of all trades. If not using h'annit then olbrec does well. You can argue thereon if you want. I find giving him cover and stacking evasion the way to go with him, but my opinion
Nn Li have you tried thereon as a warrior? He makes an amazing evasion tank. Mine is lvl 55 with almost 700 evasion. Use incite and give him good defence for when he does get hit. Plus he can steal hp for when he does get hit
Yeah I gave it a whirl! Give him the reflective veils to go with his impressive evasion stat, and he's basically untouchable against the chapter 4 bosses.
Nn Li thanks for the tips I've got all the characters to chapter 4 just now so I'm about to start all of the end chapters. Also heard there was a post game of sorts. I've been avoiding spoilers though.
Bro... no patience? You do realize that patience cyrus is the absolute best at burning shields to thr ground? My party is Warmaster Olberic - because he is a warrior its good that he can incite turn one so that it gives Cyrus and the healer a little breath room. Also Olberic as a warrior has more skills to hit weaknesses than Haanit who only has bow. 2. Runelord Tressa- because transfer rune + rest / Sidestep is really good for boss battles 3. Sorcerer cyrus - hes the king of breaking. Combine patience and Alferics Auspices, he can literally attack all enemies four times in 1 turn. Even hit shields dont stand a chance. Hes literally the king 4. Cleric Haanit - i needed a cleric for heals and Alferics Auspices (to help cyrus) and also a hunter for leghold trap. So my choices were to make Ophelia a hunter or make Haanit a Cleric. Frankly i like haanit in the white dress more than Ophelia in the brun furr. I wish i could have made room for Therion but i cant. Olberic is too useful as warmaster with incite and warrior skills, thessa is the best runelord, cyrus is my maim and i need a cleric haanit for leghold trap, heals and alferics auspices
Lol Merchant kind of sucks, what on earth are you talking about? How is Merchant one of the most useful jobs in the game? It's literally one of the worst. Even the Divine Skill is awful.
Lol it's funny how you're using the right class on Olberic but aren't even using it right. You should be putting Fortitude on him & using Last Stand on any NPC at 1HP to instantly kill ANY NPC! You always go first in NPC battles so it's the best and only worthwhile setup for NPC Challenging.

What's the point of a post game build? Is there more to the story?
Very useful, many thanks :)
Thank you.
If rly feels like all the best support skills are locked in the final 4 jobs 😅 would you change anything about these builds after 2 years later have gone by?
from old man? do you mean leon?
After u complete the game can you switch out your starting character out of your party?
You can do it after you complete their chapter 4.
Does Therion really get enough E. Def to pull off being a Cleric? And why not run Sorcerer on Prim instead?
Sorcerer on Prim is arguably better since she has access to dagger (extra dark damage)!
As for Therion and E.Def, since he can reliably steal SP, it's easy to just set up reflective veils, negating the damage and in turn, doing more damage to the enemy (as a result of the lower E.def).
Ok but what’s your party!!??????
That's what I'd like to know. Also what team set-up he used to get all these skills and levels. 🤔
Great video
Why are you using the Elusive Shield in the endgame so much? Gustav's Shield has much better stats & slightly better Evasion.
Im using olberic over haanit...
Olberic(leader)
Primrose
Alfyn
Tressa
Thats my main party, but i frequently shift one character in/out to do all the character quests
Boost start is completely useless in boss fights as they are going to last longer anyway. I'm also not much of a fan of the way Therion is set up, nor his equipment. his focus should be on buffing/debuffing, not sharing SP. Focusing his equipment for Share SP is kind of silly when there's Alfyn's Concoct and Inspiriting Plums.
why combine sorc and scholar, they are so similar?
Can anyone be the warmaster beside H'annit?
Darian Hopkins tressa can do just about everything. Jack of all trades. If not using h'annit then olbrec does well. You can argue thereon if you want. I find giving him cover and stacking evasion the way to go with him, but my opinion
Obe, Alf, Tressa can be warmaster too. Cyrus warmaster with a rune lord buff can also work
Yea do all the characters
It's happening! ^^
Nn Li I guess tressa rune lord kinda kills thereon warrior though. Side step + transfer rune = op
Buy your last dreams
Did you call h'aanit cure?! Excuse me but Tressa is the definition of cute
Jerome Grossley H'aanit is all of it lol..cute..hot..full package.
H’aanit is my favorite character, I love the old English
8:12
Lol
He likes Haanit over Olberic because she is cute. Wtf.
H'aanit may be cute but her criminally butchered Old English is too grating for me to stand having her in my party.
Nerfearon a los PJ, tienen menos estadísticas al mismo nivel y con los mismos equipos
Do the vids
Say no more!^^
Thanks bro have you found a OP build for bringer of chaos yet
Bro... no patience? You do realize that patience cyrus is the absolute best at burning shields to thr ground?
My party is
Warmaster Olberic - because he is a warrior its good that he can incite turn one so that it gives Cyrus and the healer a little breath room. Also Olberic as a warrior has more skills to hit weaknesses than Haanit who only has bow.
2. Runelord Tressa- because transfer rune + rest / Sidestep is really good for boss battles
3. Sorcerer cyrus - hes the king of breaking. Combine patience and Alferics Auspices, he can literally attack all enemies four times in 1 turn. Even hit shields dont stand a chance. Hes literally the king
Olberic is better than hannit. He has more defense and more health.
H'aanit has leghold trap
@@kwkylewilliams462 How about Olberic/Hunter would that work?
@@sherlackpr Yeah hunter is a good job for olberic. I also like apothecary for him.
Theres 2 physical belts! Go get the other one!
You can farm them. Gustav drops them if you challange him postgame
You always go first in NPC battles so it's the best and only worthwhile setup for NPC Challenging.
holy fuck someone has to much freetime
These are all quite amateur if you ask me... There is FAR better advice on Reddit & such.
