It also should be noted that secondary classes will never decrease a characters stats if they have no Secondary class selected, this means no matter what Secondary class you give it always benefits that character, like making Cyrus a Warrior doesn't make him a less effective spell caster if that makes any sense
What I’ve really come to love about this game is how diverse people have their parties. There really is no wrong answer, just how you prefer your party. Just scrolling through the comments and looking at this video I see job combinations I would NEVER, and I mean never consider for myself, but I see why others would do so, and to me that’s the best part of the game. If there ever comes a time I want to start again from scratch I can have a COMPLETELY different experience based on job combinations and I look forward to doing so.
One personal thing I did with my playthrough was to have all the original 8 classes within my party that way it felt like everyone was present at least in sprit.
H'aanit is also my favorite character in the game. The only thing that really sucks about her is how Linde's attack power doesn't scale with level ups. But other than that she is a massive powerhouse.
Same, but the trade-off there is that Linde is kinda OP in the early game. I started with H'aanit and I swear the first twelve hours of gameplay was just Linde slaughtering every enemy lol. I was ready to move on.
I feel like most jobs correspond to a FF job. Cleric: White Mage Scholar: Black Mage Merchant: Red Mage Warrior: Knight Dancer: Bard Apothecary: ??? Thief: Thief Hunter: Ranger/Beastmaster (H'aanit specifically) Runelord: Mystic Knight Warmaster: ??? Sorcerer: Black Wizard Starseer: Red Wizard
My first rule for picking secondary jobs was to maximize weakness coverage and try, if possible, to avoid picking a job with the same weapons (Hunter Alfyn or Merchant Olberic etc). It quickly became apparent that all that mattered was how much damage my main character, Cyrus, could manage when the enemy is broken, so i just gravitated to having as many characters cover as many weaknesses as possible. Needless to say i got a lot of use out of Warmaster and Sorcerer in late game
In my first playthrough I used: Ophilia warrior (I want a paladin like character and I love Ophila so) Alfyn merchant (I wanted to be full support boosting his utility) H'aanit thief (she can boost her crits, evasion and the debuffs and sp taking abilities from thief) Primorse Scholar (A full elemental attacker, that's all) And it went fine, I didn't have any problem with any of their 4th chapter final bosses
"one of the few elements he's missing" he's missing half of them actually... But nitpicking aside, Cyrus is a natural choice for the sorcerer job. And one you obtain that one you can comfortably make the other three full physical or support/physical characters. Also random thought: a neat combo against physical attacker bosses (read: winnehild) is warrior tressa or merchant olberic. Incite + sidestep makes you practically untouchable.
I don't recall my first run, but the second run I played most of the game with: Ophilia-Scholar Cyrus-Dancer Tressa-Hunter [Was my lead, and being able to use her mostly for support made the 'overleveled' much less of an issue, though she was only 49 when I beat her Ch 4] Olberic-Apothecary Primrose-Cleric Alfyn-Warrior Therion-Merchant H'aanit-Thief While I enjoyed having Ophilia as Scholar, there were times I wish I had Prim as scholar. Cyrus as a Dancer was nice for coverage, and on turns I didn't need to cast a scholar spell, I could have him buff himself to prepare for the break. Tressa as Hunter was greater. Had a half cost Arrow Storm which was good bow coverage, leghold trap for bosses, and Donate BP to set-up others. Olberic as Apothecary was nice. Giving him Last Stand for the AoE axe attack was helpful (when Level Slash wasn't useful) and I particularly enjoyed First Aid and Rehabilitate for Challenges. Primrose as I said I kind of wished I had her as Scholar in some fights, due to some lacking coverage when support wasn't needed. Otherwise enjoyed her support. Alfyn as Warrior was a mirror to Olberic. I typically didn't have them both together (did a couple times though). Therion as Merchant was great, good coverage. Also, as good as Share SP is, I dislike boosting it since then he has 0 himself. Though with Rest, he can regain it himself. [I realize Dragon Scarf would regain enough to use Steal SP]. Plus it allowed him to Collect and Steal. H'aanit as Thief was also quite good. In many fights, she was primarily a debuff support [Patience + Incidental Attack] using Leghold Trap and Armor Corrosive mostly, though sometimes Shackle Foe as well. In fights where her bow skills were useful I'd use them. I also enjoyed having Steal SP, as it made me fine with using Arrow Storm... as I could just refill the SP the next turn. [Also buying the Forbidden Dagger during the Ch 2s helped, since I really wasn't using her for elemental attacks unless absolutely necessary]
For Cyrus, as soon as I unlocked SP Saver for Tressa I knew I wanted Cyrus' secondary to be Merchant. So I can spam Cyrus' double magic spells more often without draining my sp pool. This video is helping with everyone else tho. Thanks!
Doing it almost the same way, with the difference that Ophelia got aphotecary as her secondary job and H'annit got warrior, I gave aphotecary to Ophelia mostly because of the Hp stat boost, and H'annit got warrior so she could have more weapons and utility to tank. I also notice most of the temples are conviently place right before chapter 2 of the character that does a better use of them.
I get to the Gates of Finis and do the boss rush and then I got to fight the final boss to find out I need two parties and everyone but my main team is like level 30 and below My team consisted of Therion as a Cleric lvl 73 H’annit as a warmaster lv 74 Ophelia as a starseer lv 65 Cyrus as a sorcerer lv 73
Wish I knew about Alfyn's horrible evasion because I made him a theif in hopes of dodge tanking with Therion and only having to heal the other two party members; later switched him to scholar since Cyrus was extremely underleveled
For the final battle. My guys were; primrose as a sorcerer tressa as a runelord ophilia as a starseer haanit as a warlord therion as a hunter alfyn as a warrior cyrus as a cleric olberic as an apothecary lvls 66-71
I do like the idea of making Olberic into a Fire Emblem General with Apothecary but I plan on taking Cleric to make him a Final Fantasy Paladin and make him more well rounded
It's kind of crazy how versatile Alfyn can be! Considering his physical stats are pretty damn good! However his Concoct is just so damn great that it's hard to want to use him for anything else. Best then to maybe focus on his survivability more than anything else, as you want him using Concoct to both heal and give BP to the party.
I went for the opposites of the characters I used. Like Therion was a cleric and Ophilia was a thief. Cyrus was a warrior and Olberic was a scholar. I switched up Tressa with Primrose. The last two were apothecary (Ha’anit) and hunter (Alfyn) and I thought it was kind of fun to have these class choices.
Merchant Therion is my favorite, because Donate BP, But double the steal and collect is why I did it and works so well when you collect 60,000 from bosses
I focused on just breaking as many shields as possible with mine. I had Ophilia as a mechant, so she can break both light and wind, as well as support Cyrus with donate bp. I made Cyrus a dancer so he could use daggers to pick off a low shield, but mostly to buff himself and Olberic depending on situation, but also to give him access to darkness so that he has all but 2 elements at his disposal. Only really attacking with Cyrus when he has 3 or more bp to use, and he almost always goes first for me...so just made sense to spend a turn buffing to me. Olberic is a hunter, mostly for the large groups of enemies with arrow weaknesses, so I can break them all in one turn and finish everything quickly with a max charge level slash. Tressa is a thief, only to supply my other characters with large amounts of bp and sp when needed, as well as giving her access every weapon that's not a staff or axe. Only reason I use Tressa instead of Therion really is because of their looks...Tressa's theif outfit is pretty cute, but Therion's merchant outfit looks kinda....terrible. I'm only in my early~mid 40's with them, so I haven't spent much time grinding up the other characters to a decent level, yet...
I started with Therion and built him as a Thief/Apothecary to make him be able to heal status witch misses him most of the time, plus he dodges almost everything, thought the downside of lower armor for evasion gear. the other three in my main party and leveled up: H'aanit with Warrior, even thought she can use any weapon/spell type in the game via capture. Made her a powerhouse with that build and already seeing over 9999 damage with her (Have surpassing power on her) Ophilia i went Dancer for buffs, thought majorly Lion's dance for H'annit/Therion, and Ele Att one for Cyrus otherwise she can out heal any damage. Cyrus with Merchant for elemental damage all the way That whole team is in their high 40s and just finished 3 of the 8 chapter 3s The other four Olberic - Hunter, Tressa - Thief, Alfyn - Cleric, and Primrose - Scholar i dont use much aside for doing their chapters currently Thought the whole party is geared out to the outside ring of weapons/armor. I have none of the 4 special jobs yet so I cant regear them to those yet
My current party: Olberic the Runelord (My Protagonist) H'aanit the Warmaster Ophilia the Starseer Cyrus the Sorcerer Having melee characters carry the support skill that allows for a chance at an additional attack (hunter skill) stacks absolutely insanely with Runelord's ability to "enchant" the whole parties weapons.
Kalamabrew if you combine any of the runes from the runelord with elemental break from the sorcerer, you can do some consistently high damage every turn. What even better is you can use the clerics divine skill to make your sorcerer do it twice for a few turns.
The real meta is leveling your characters in multiple jobs to get those sweet sub skills. Also, my personal favorite combo is therion as a warrior and making him an evasion tank. Get the Dancer sub skill to counter 50% of the time and incite on turn one. Give him nuts to make him even faster and more evasion and enjoy never getting hit and countering against enemies weaknesses.
I've found that Tressa works really well as /Apothecary. Gives her a good spread of utility skills with Rehabilitation and First Aid to make her a decent back-up healer, plus Amputation and Last Stand to give her a solid damage dealer and an additional AoE
I made Alfyn a scholar so I could have one character as the DPS with both physical and elemental damage. Therion was a merchant so I could give him more utility skills. H'aanit was a warrior because well, you know. Ophilia was a dancer to give her better buffs.
Thanks for the video! I’m currently in chapter 4 for everyone and I’m considering switching some classes around. This will help a lot with all the stats
before I got the special jobs i had = Alfyn/Cleric, Primrose/Scholar, H'aanit/Dancer and therion/Merchant. After, I had Alfyn/Runelord, Primrose/Sorcerer, H'aanit/Warmaster, Therion/Merchant, Therion/merchant so he could get EVERYTHING, steal loot, open purple chests, collect money AND items from bosses.
Another fantastic analysis, that’s for sharing your recommendation for secondary jobs. I just have a feeling your channel is going to blow up to over 100k in the near future
I am right before chapter 4 and I personally like this setup: Therion - warrior (incredible dodge tanker) Tressa - Hunter ( I just like the outfit gives her a good amount of bow skills) Alfyn - Cleric (guess I don't have to explain what he is doing) And Primrose - Scholar ( given the occasion I can support and hit hard with her).
hmmm primrose stats have very good potential for being a hybrid actually. give her subclass warrior and she could do some real work with more attack, better weapons, higher hp, and still be able to debuff and cast dark magic effectively.
For me: Ophilia: Cleric/Apothecary. Gives her the best healing capabilities in the game. I know she has high SP so with that and Apothecary’s ability to regain SP on standard attacks, it’s a slow process but it ensures you don’t deplete with nothing in return. Cyrus: Scholar/Cleric. He has high elemental attack and decent SP so as long as you have a method to return some to him, he can hit pretty hard...especially if you give him Wizard’s staff or something strong. Playing offensive and defensive. Tressa: Merchant/Thief. Very good reasons why. Steal, collect, provide SP/BP support, and can debuff as well. Olberic: Warrior/Hunter. With the support that allows you to attack twice (50% chance) and attack AGAIN before the turn is over (25% chance), he can do massive damage in a single turn if all activates. Plus, this gives him much more variety in terms of movesets. Primrose: Dancer/Scholar. Provides support roles and can be a VALUABLE asset with analyze and dance abilities. The way I have my team setup, they have every weapon and can cast any elemental attacks. Primrose has good evasion so with the Eye for an eye and Second wind, she regains SP which is helpful for the scholar and with decent evasion, she has a 50% chance to counter. Alfyn: Apothecary/Merchant. Works WELL with concoct since it can give 25% chance to use those items for free and makes a decent replacement for Tressa. Therion: Thief/Dancer. Can buff, debuff, extremely evasive, the counterattack, regains SP with second wind, when debuffing, has a chance to attack, the possibilities are endless. H’aanit: Hunter/Warrior. She’ll just be a monster similar to Olberic. Equip her with decent weapons and she’ll be set.
Interesting use of the room, he’s my biggest damage dealer by far, buff his physical attack, speed and use his armor corrosive on the enemy, inflict break on enemy and then use dagger divine skill, boom. 55000 no joke he is absurdly powerful, currently have him on war master.
So it’s been awhile since I’ve played this, when you have multiple weapons on someone, do I have to switch to the weapon with the highest elemental attack to do the most damage or is it automatic?
From what i've gathered, it automaticaly takes whatever weapon has the higher elemental attack, except for the Concoct skill (and maybe the elemental runes ?)
OMG someone that make Ophilia Warrior Nice I alwas tought of it in my top 3 job for her: Warrior, Merchant and finally the (secret class call Runemaster I think tho I don't got the game yet so I can't tell it that really the right name) Any way focusing on makeing her physical side slightly better but not bosting her HP since she can Overheal herself I think.
I'm currently at my fouth chapter 3, for the most part i am using in my party: H'aanit since I started with her. Gave her the Warrior job just because 2 new weapons to use means so much faster breaks on bosses since you can boost for multiple hits and she also has her double hit ability. As for the character that also never leaves my party alfyn, I weirdly chose scholar as a second class because despite his low base elemental attack I noticed his ice spell hitting harder than his axe skills. Since I dont take cyrus often I needed a spellcaster. Now I dont use him as much for healing, only if burst heals are needed in boss battles. Therion also stuck with my party for most of the time, just because his path action is just to usefull everywhere you go. In battle i tend to use him for breaks with weapons because he's purely single target as a thief and doesnt hit as hard as my main damage dealer haanit, also sp sharing is great. So i decided to pick merchant for 2 new weapons he can use to break foes. Also 1 aoe spell and the utilities of the merchant are great. So i break foes with him, give boost points to haanit or alfyn so they can fire away their aoe damage really hard. As a fourth party member I couldnt decide which character to use for a long time, but now arrived at ophelia. Really loving here for the light spell + aoe heals. since she still is lower lvl than the others i didnt get her a second jon right away so i could max out cleric first. But wasnt really sure what would work for her and then chose dancer because i noticed everyone else in my party got their path action counter part (unindended). But i dont really make use of dancer skills to be honest. That class is in no way appealing to me, cause in random fights buffs arent often worth it, they are just over way too quickly when i just spam damage with all characters. So normally ophelia puts out a heal if needed and if not she just uses her aoe light oder dark skill to put out some additional damage. Having here for upkeeping the group hp is great since alfyn is always busy spamming elemental storms anyway now :'D For the other characters I didnt really think about it because they are all too low lvl anyway. Cant wait to get warbringer for H'aanit and i want to try sorcerer on alfyn...
Alfyn-cleric main healer good physical Therion-apotecary secondary heals and debuffs Olberic-theif, great physical damage and debuffs tank, evasion and steal hp and sp are great for the one on one duels Tressa-scholar 1/2 price scholar spells are Broke
On my current playthrough I use: Ophilia - Dancer Cyrus - Cleric/Merchant Tressa - Thief/Dancer Olberic - Apothecary/Thief Primrose - Scholar Alfyn - Cleric/Merchant/Thief Therion - Warrior/Hunter H'aanit - Warrior I switch secondary jobs for each chapter depending on the characters I use
I made a lot of the same picks you did: Ophelia - mainly merchant Cyrus - also merchant (obviously didn't run him together with Ophelia) Tress - mainly cleric, but sometimes thief Olberic - mainly apothecary Primrose - mainly scholar Alfyn - mainly warrior Therion - mainly hunter H'aanit - mainly thief Primrose was my main, so I saw little reason to give anyone else dancer. Also, I had really poor experience with physical attacks in general, but bows specifically. Any bow I found was generally half the strength of my other best weapons, and in any case, magic was just obliterating everything way faster than weapon skills. Wasn't until I was finishing everyone's chapter 4 that physical skills started to catch up at all for me.
J Galbraith I also found Therion to be good on hunter. And a second cleric if u need. Makes him well rounded in weapons. My Alphf is a warr and Olberic is apothecary. Very tanky. Primrose is good scholar . Cyrus I’m trying merchant or cleric and it’s fun. My lead Tressa doing theif for weapon advantage. Ophelia is a dancer . Can’t seem to find another good dancer for sub class
I find physical attacks to be more versatile than magical. As for Bows, I always found them to be the most powerful (granted my bow user H'annit was always the highest level, and used True Strike) but magic (more specifically Scholar) is meant for screen nuking, while physical weapons are meant for setting up said nukes.
I personally like to have 2 major damage dealers and 2 support members used to buff and heal the party. Alfyn is clearly the best healer with Concoct in both healing AND giving everyone BP. Seriously, the ability to always load everyone up with BP every turn is SO incredibly broken!
Best combos i found so far: Ophilia -- Dancer Cyrus -- Sorcerer (merchant or cleric or dancer before you get sorc) Tressa - Hunter (Take Aim) -- she also works as warrior tank (she realy works as any class) Olberic -- Apothecary for tank -- Warmaster for damage dealer (merchant is also a option to use rest, but can be problematic to use on some mobs) Primrose -- Starseer to make her better buffer or Scholar as weak damage dealer Alfyn -- Warrior or thief (thiefs expands his debufs on bosses) -- after that you can change him into a runelord to be even more usefull (you need party with high magic attack) Therion -- Only usefull as merchant realy to work as a debuffer/ bp buffer as he lacks a good aoe as thief (hunter for more aoe) Hannit-- warrior till you get warmaster (you gota buff her hp with items you get in game)
In my experience, Ophelia also makes a great Scholar, Therion makes a decent Warrior, Cyrus works as a secondary healer, and decent physical damage dealer with Apothecary, and H'annit works with literally anything. Seriously, I've tried H'annit as every base class, she's at least decent as all of them.
In my experience Cyrus is one of the weakest sorc, simply because of of weapon choice, since everyone can get to 999 magick the only way to get more dmg is by equipping weapons that boost an element. However there's the note that Cyrus can be the best starseer because the weapon comb he gets allows him to get a boost weapon to each of shooting star elements WHICH are also his missing elements :D
My first party was thressa, olberic, primrose and alfy, and I made thressa into a thief, olberic into a cleric, primrose into a scholar and alfy into a warrior. Was pretty happy with my choices.
Warrior Tressa is also pretty great, so you can Incite enemies along with her Sidestep ability! She also has much better Elemental Defense than Olberic so she won't get in trouble as much when she Incites all the spellcasters on her!
Great video, man! Glad to see more people are making Octopath Traveler videos. Stats are important! My vid series details compatibility of secondary classes with each character if you want to check it out. Maybe we can collaborate sometime!
I actually made Alfyn a cleric for a majority of the game. Using his concoct ability in tandem with his healing skills for both jobs and I think he makes the “best” healer since he can even give bp to the whole party.
For Chapter 4 I used: Cyrus as a Sorcerer (He was my protagonist) Therion as a Runelord Olberic as a Warmaster Ophilia as a Starseer I did switch my team around depending on which character's chapter I'm doing but I always had a team of characters with secret jobs and this combination was my favorite. Sometimes I switched out Olberic for H'aanit or Ophilia for Primrose, I always had Therion though for unlocking purple chests.
Thought so, too. But then again the normal subclasses can be accessed VERY early while the others cannot. It might be good for you to figure out what you want to pick as a secondary job first since it will stay with you for a good portion of the game. Afterwards you just make Cyrus a sorcerer and H'aanit or Olberic a Warmaster haha.
Ophilia: I went with Dancer to go full support and to open her up to daggers and dark. Equipment was focused on tanking damage so that she could still stick around and heal after taking heavy damage. Cyrus: My lead. Cleric to get another source of Light damage and healing for those situations where damage wasn't necessary. And, because I'd always have Cyrus around, the extra healing utility provided by cleric was useful when I didn't have Ophilia or an Apothecary in the party. Tressa: Hunter mainly for the aoe bow skills. Hired Help provides aoe multi-hits on swords and axes for cheap, and then daggers and light for a bit more money. Combined with Arrowstorm, and she can break a lot of enemies simultaneously. Also, she's the cutest in her hunter outfit. Olberic: Apothecary. It's just too good. I also focused on boosting his HP to max, and added in passive HP regen once I discovered that skills and accessories healed by certain percentages of max health. Empoison is a criminally underrated skill that also deals damage based on percentages of health. Between Empoison, First Aid, and Rehabilitate, Olberic can outlast any duel even bosses higher level bosses and kill them with chip damage. There's just too much synergy with this pairing. Primrose: Scholar. Again, another high synergy pairing. You get a lot of utility by having a dancer that can hit 4 different elements, and I found more value having characters that could had both damage and utility instead of consolidating them into separate characters. Alfyn: I went with Thief. Hunter was already claimed, and I wanted to emphasize his Critical and Last Stand. To add some extra utility, I also focused on debuffing, which is where Thief comes in. He pairs well with other physical damage dealers because of his debuffs and natural stats Therion: Merchant. I honestly don't like Therion (or thief specifically) in combat. Out of combat he's amazing with Steal and opening purple chests, but in combat I just don't think he offers enough. To counteract this, I gave him Merchant so that he could find some use out of stealing money and adding in some aoe attacks. He pretty much just warms the bench until I need his path actions or I need to power level him for his story chapters. H'aanit: Warrior. I don't think I'm utilizing her capture mechanics as well as I could (things usually die before they get anywhere close to capture range), but she can still easily hold her own without her pets. I focused on her Accuracy and using party-wide Critical+Accuracy buff to take advantage of her aoe multi-hit abilities, and Warrior givers her another one she can use for Polearms. It also gives her 4 weapons to use, 3 of which can hit multiple targets, giving her strong physical utility.
Try using Therion as an evasion tank. Give him the warrior subclass and give him a crap ton of items and weapons that boost evasion. (Also there is a passive skill from one of the hidden subclasses that negates 25% of The hits that do land) Use insite and watch as enemies try, in vain to hit him. Vary fun, vary practical.
I’m in the 20’s and i have primrose and a thief, but given her entirely evasive gear and now her evasion is 500+ so she can just keep dancing and buffing stats and not worry about getting hit too much
Honestly, I only ever cared about Hired Help for the cheapest one because it buffs EVERYONES Defense for only 150 Leaves, & when boosted makes it last a LONG time! Not bad at all! The other ones I just can't justify using due to the cost. Only way I can see using them is while Speedrunning in order to break the game early with the most expensive one, which is literally what ALL Speedrunners do in order to beat the game fast as hell.
Funny thing is Ophelia would actually make for a pretty decent Tanker with Warrior, considering her Defenses are actually quite high. Not that there aren't better choices for her but yeah, definitely could be used that way! The only downfall is that her attack strength isn't so great, although this does buff that some & gives her something to do aside for healing all the time.
Thing is with Ophilia the main purpose of heal incite is completely removed when you realize that the amount of HP she heals is super low and elem Def on warrior isn't high
I also gave my H'aanit the apothecary secondary job at first to put that Golden Axe to good use since I played w/o Alfyn :) I haven't even done any chapter 4 but I'm pretty certain with my lvl 60+ warmaster H'aanit and sorcerer Cyrus I will pretty much crush everything lol
So I haven't actually given my characters their jobs yet. I've just finished all of the Chapter 1 Stories and I have my own ideas on combinations and what I might use. This is just for the basic secondary jobs so far though. Ophilia - Cleric and Dancer I explain in further detail my reasoning in Primrose's segment but having Light and Dark magic together plus both heals and buffs would be cool. Cyrus - Scholar and IDK I don't really know what to give Cyrus but he's my protagonist so I need to think of something. If you guys have any ideas let me know. When I get to the point where I can get the advanced jobs I'll give him Sorcerer. Tressa - Merchant and Cleric Heals. Not much else of a reason. She would become a great support character. Olberic - Warrior and Hunter Pretty much the same reasons as H'annit getting the Warrior role which I put further down. They're the best physical fighters and even more weapons would work great. Primrose - Dancer and Cleric, Scholar or Theif Having Light and Dark magic together would be good. Primrose is mainly focused on buffing the party and the Cleric could work nicely as giving her the main buffs the Dancer usually doesn't have, as well as giving her heals. Scholar could also work though as she is magic oriented. On top of that, Theif has debuffs which could work nicely in tandem with Primrose's buffs. Overall I think Primrose is one of the best characters in the game, having many diverse options and the best story. Alfyn - Apothecary and Scholar Ok hear me out here. I think this is a good combination because with would give Alfyn a more reliable source of elemental damage, as he won't always have all of the materials for concocting. Therion - Theif and Merchant With the support skill Snatch, Steal and Collect get double the loot. Plus I think it would work nicely as it would give him 4 weapons and Wind magic, which is really good. On top of that the Merchant has some of the best skills of the base 8 jobs in my opinion. This would turn Therion into a character who can attack and support. H'annit - Hunter and Warrior/Apothecary H'annit and Olberic are the best physical attackers so I think giving her the Warrior skills would work well. I also think the Apothecary would work well too. It would give her heals and some cool skills like Amputation and Last Stand. I could go with either though. Please give suggestions if you have any as I would love to hear them.
I actually have a similar secondary jobs setup except that I had my Tressa as a Apothecary(ultmate support member build), Alfyn as thief (he can now use Analyze and Cyrus can focus more on attacking) and Therion as scholar(for shield breaking, and it's just funny thinking how he despise Cyrus and the Scholar class). For our best boy Cyrus (he is my starting character, and my team leader/main attack), the scholar class is too good itself, so my focus is on his SP consuming problem. I made him a thief at first for SP Thief skill, only to find that his badly low physical atk made this skill a useless one. Then I made him a merchant so he can recover a guaranteed amount of SP by himself. But the best solution is to make him a dancer and spend 30+100+500+1000 JP to unlock the Second Wind support skill. This is super handy. Just think about a main damage seeker who can also regenerates HP and SP each turn automatically! Cyrus can BREAK this game seriously. Just keep in mind that you can always switch between different second jobs and equip support skills from different classes. My Cyrus is a merchant now. He can rest(restore SP), sidestep(dodge physical attack), so he is almost UNTOUCHABLE by any forms of attack with a reflecting veil buff. Making him a Cleric(for higher elemental damage) or an Apothecary (patch his low HP) also make sense.
What I like to do with Cyrus is to give him Dancer and Primrose Scholar. They just continuously buff each other and Destroy the enemies with their spells as Alphys concoct more BP potions for them.
Wow, that's really weird I used scholar H'annit too! In my case it was around the time magic became super useful and I experimented using thunderbird at full damage which surprisingly worked.
Tressa-Scholar (love magic in this game, and she was my starter character, so...) Olberic-Thief (he was able to buff his own attack and then lower enemy defense, which was surprisingly good when paired with therion. Also, steal SP) Primrose-Cleric (seemed like the best one for her, so she can buff our team while also keeping us alive. It blends so well for me) Alfyn-Dancer (gave him something else to do when he's not healing....also, this was the only class left for him to take haha) Therion-Hunter (more weapon options for him, and I really like the net trap move on the Hunter class, so having it on a speedy character was perfect for me) Ha'annit-Warrior (with both the flying arrows and thousand spears abilities, she made for a good gauge breaker on the right enemies) Ophilia-Merchant (Literally only for sidestep and donate bp. She would always heal enough to where bp was never really necessary for her all the time, so I used sidestep to give her better defensive options or donate to beef everyone else up) Cyrus-Apothicary (....Cyrus really needed the hp lol)
I started with tressa :D because she's my first character, she's suuuper strong. And op and she can literally go with any jobs. I used all girls mainly and I just finished all of their story and now I'll be doing the boys side and I'm wondering which jobs to put on them. I want to use merchant, cleric, dancer and hunter as the secondary jobs only, unless you guys suggest it's not a good idea. But I definitely need dancer and cleric :D Alphyn is my favourite boi :) I think he's like tressa, sooo strong and very good at magic. And can survive longest anywhere Btw, what I used for my girls team before the advanced jobs, Tressa, merchant/(cleric/apothecary) Primrose, dancer/scholar Ophelia, cleric/merchant H'aanit, Hunter/Theif Dancers may not seem useful at first, but that seltigue skill used on Clerics allows cleric to use reflective veil on everyone to reflect element attacks which is very useful for literally any bosses on chapter 4 or advanced level bosses. Using that 3 BP cleric skill on scholars will double spell attacks :D same for standard attackers. It's very useful to have Primrose and Ophelia together. => then bringing in advance jobs makes it even crazier Tressa can revive anyone cause she rarely dies. And Hannit as a theif and using that theif debuffs and hunter skills makes everyone op :) ... I'm stuck on the boys tho. I admit that I'm staring at what sprites looks nice aaaa
i make my MAIN team like this: Tressa:have scholar so basilly a red mage that can do basiclly anything like you wanna hit enemy with weapon hard then she can do that(hired help can also cover up most of the weapon weakness),want to make her hit elemental attacks hard then she can do that too(she has wind magic and barely anyone weak to dark so yeah she cover almost every element),she can buff and debuff aswell with hire help and she help making money to buy all the stuff i need. obleric:i made him the ultimate 1v1 machine with hunter class he can basiclly have every weakness possible and he can make their turn slower so his lower speed isnt a issue,he can buff his defense then guard for Bp then when their shield is 1 i buff his attack and accurate and crit then either do thousand spear or his divine skill if he has it,outside of 1v1 he the break shield with weapons character to me and my second aoe character beside Tressa and if all fail i just tank damage as usual. Alfyn:basiclly he is the status effect dude that is also a tank i give him the warrior he is my support character that will never die because i give him the hp regen necklage with protection necklace aswell so he can survive to revive all character one at a time (i dont need a white mage right now but maybe later when boss do ton of damage fast)i have alot of money thank to Tressa to buy coconut items to give a buff to whole party or debuff enemies also he cant really die right now so if i ran out of way to revive i just use poison and defense to wait it out, damage is kinda meh but atleast he has acess to axe Therion:i basiclly make him a secondary support so anything Alfyn didnt do he would do it instead so i give him the dancer class to buff my main damage source with damage while Alfyn giving them BP to murder anything but otherwise he kinda suck like the Only thing he can do beside all of that he can only steal if i am spare a turn but hey atleast he has dark now which a few enemies is weak to yayyyyyyy but i basiclly want to have him all the time because of path action so fuck me i guess. So what do we have here is a balance party that can basiclly do anything in any situation but not great at particulary anything but the only reason i pick this party is because their path action is very important for having maxium equipment, money and items in general can be able to get purple treasure in dungeon too
Ok so I don't get it. There are 8 jobs in the game, 4 hidden jobs, and they all have their own stat bonuses that are applied to each character. Are these bonuses applied at level up? Are they applied as permanent gains once the class is mastered? Or are they just applied as a temporary bonus for as long as the character stays in that job?
Can someone tell me what's going on with those stats boost? If I give Scholar to Oberlic, does he gain a small elemental increase as long as he has scholar equiped, or does he actually gain more elemental attack and element.defense when leveling up while being a scholar?
only started playing this game, the sub jobs i picked were pretty much the same, but for different reasons. i went a range of weps/elements for breaking purposes.
I actually just made olberic an apothecary simply because I needed him heal everytime he challenges someone, I wasn't really thinking of the stat gains or what not
I started with H'annit, and I guess I had that knee jerk reaction because I made her a warrior. Cyrus was the only one I had in my main party, I made him a cleric actually. It worked pretty nicely. Therion, is another one that I liked, and kinda made him merchant for the most part, right now he's with the starseer class. And Primrose (my second favorite after H'annit of course) I made her a scholar and was doing a better job than Cyrus imo ( btw I thought she had the highest evasion since she dodges almost everything) after I got her the sorcerer I kinda dismissed Cyrus. They took me through the majority of the chapter 4 after that I used Cyrus slot to rotate people when doing chapters, and I left Alfyn story for last, since he's kinda one of my least favorites, he's been kinda useful enough to be in my main party, since with concoct I can give every one 2 bp (4 bp single target) and if I the apothecary divine skill, I can use the 4bp single target to affect all, which means, Winnehild's battle cry for days. But right now I'm grinding everyone for the final boss because I was doing good, great even until I got to the that boss and learned you have to use everyone so I kinda got merked there.
I also started with H'annit but in my case I make her a Thief for the SP steal and spaming her Arrowstorm. Then I have Alfys with warrior job and make him a tank spaming Incite. Tressa (my second favorite before H'annit) I make her scoolar so basically she is my elemental damage dealer. Finally I have Primrose as support being a Cleric, with her I heal and boost all the others.
Haannit + warrior Therion + merchant Primrose + scholar Alphyn + cleric Is what I started with and still using. Haven’t used the othe four characters, I have to level them all?
Gps1337 Right now, im running both haanit, and olberic in my party, and they are both warrior/hunters. Olberic is a fucking beast at single combat...but, i think i went alittle overboard on non-magic damage. I have those two characters, Tressa, and Alfyn...:p However, i just unlocked Cyrus and traded out Alfyn for him, and i turned Tressa into a Cleric, not really ficusing on optimum classes for Tressa, just needed a healer, im not sure if ill even keep her around after i get Therion...
Nn Li yea thank you for the fast answer ... i guess i was asking a bit too fast for this becourse later in the video it was explained ^^ anyways ... thank you!
Only at the chapter 2, my main party is made of (Best Boi) Alfyn the cleric and (Best Girl) Tressa the thief. For others its, most of the time: Ophilia the scholar Cyrus the merchant Olberic the hunter Primrose depends on what is left (not chosen by rest of the party) Therion the warrior H'aanit the dancer At least as of right now. Other then Best Boi and Best Girl, others change a lot more their secondary job.
Same
Flakey honestly I didn’t care who was on my team if they were good on my team
H'aanit is also my favorite character in the game. The only thing that really sucks about her is how Linde's attack power doesn't scale with level ups. But other than that she is a massive powerhouse.
Same, but the trade-off there is that Linde is kinda OP in the early game. I started with H'aanit and I swear the first twelve hours of gameplay was just Linde slaughtering every enemy lol. I was ready to move on.
Linde is the tiger right?
@@jeancarlodelaluz6415 yeah, her pet tiger which is the default creature she can summon.
@@BingBangPoe any suggestions on what monsters I should capture?
When I buff haanit with the dancer buff does Linda also get the buff?
I feel like most jobs correspond to a FF job.
Cleric: White Mage
Scholar: Black Mage
Merchant: Red Mage
Warrior: Knight
Dancer: Bard
Apothecary: ???
Thief: Thief
Hunter: Ranger/Beastmaster (H'aanit specifically)
Runelord: Mystic Knight
Warmaster: ???
Sorcerer: Black Wizard
Starseer: Red Wizard
apothecary is the status effect class for me atleast
I have Therion as a hunter. A lot of enemies right now are weak to bow, so just arrowstorming with high speed is really usefull.
*the stats for smart people*
My first rule for picking secondary jobs was to maximize weakness coverage and try, if possible, to avoid picking a job with the same weapons (Hunter Alfyn or Merchant Olberic etc). It quickly became apparent that all that mattered was how much damage my main character, Cyrus, could manage when the enemy is broken, so i just gravitated to having as many characters cover as many weaknesses as possible. Needless to say i got a lot of use out of Warmaster and Sorcerer in late game
I must say therion as a hunter is pretty OP to any boss type with his high eva, speed and some disadvantages skills
>Ophilia level 69
Nice.
damnit u beat me too it
same
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
even the thumbs up were 69
This, my friends, is the power of the best cleric in all world, my daughter Ophilia Dusk!
In my first playthrough I used:
Ophilia warrior (I want a paladin like character and I love Ophila so)
Alfyn merchant (I wanted to be full support boosting his utility)
H'aanit thief (she can boost her crits, evasion and the debuffs and sp taking abilities from thief)
Primorse Scholar (A full elemental attacker, that's all)
And it went fine, I didn't have any problem with any of their 4th chapter final bosses
Can't touch this
You’re officially my go to jrpg guy. From xc2 to this? You’re amazing man thank you lol
I don't recall my first run, but the second run I played most of the game with:
Ophilia-Scholar
Cyrus-Dancer
Tressa-Hunter [Was my lead, and being able to use her mostly for support made the 'overleveled' much less of an issue, though she was only 49 when I beat her Ch 4]
Olberic-Apothecary
Primrose-Cleric
Alfyn-Warrior
Therion-Merchant
H'aanit-Thief
While I enjoyed having Ophilia as Scholar, there were times I wish I had Prim as scholar.
Merchant as a secondary class for cyrus is o.p.. the aupport skill that halves ur sp cost is invaluable.
Acoustic Mario this sounds amazing
I get to the Gates of Finis and do the boss rush and then I got to fight the final boss to find out I need two parties and everyone but my main team is like level 30 and below My team consisted of
Therion as a Cleric lvl 73
H’annit as a warmaster lv 74
Ophelia as a starseer lv 65
Cyrus as a sorcerer lv 73
Wish I knew about Alfyn's horrible evasion because I made him a theif in hopes of dodge tanking with Therion and only having to heal the other two party members; later switched him to scholar since Cyrus was extremely underleveled
For the final battle. My guys were;
primrose as a sorcerer
tressa as a runelord
ophilia as a starseer
haanit as a warlord
therion as a hunter
alfyn as a warrior
cyrus as a cleric
olberic as an apothecary
lvls 66-71
first playthrough*
Are you making up classes? Or have I really just scratched the surface with 35 hours in lol
Forgot about secret classes*
do weapon abilities use the strength stat of that particular weapon? or the weapons combined??
I’ve learned u eventually have to have like 3 sub jobs if you want the best support skills on each character. That’s fine tho. More grind is good.
I started with Therion and built him as a Thief/Apothecary to make him be able to heal status witch misses him most of the time, plus he dodges almost everything, thought the downside of lower armor for evasion gear.
the other three in my main party and leveled up:
H'aanit with Warrior, even thought she can use any weapon/spell type in the game via capture. Made her a powerhouse with that build and already seeing over 9999 damage with her (Have surpassing power on her)
Ophilia i went Dancer for buffs, thought majorly Lion's dance for H'annit/Therion, and Ele Att one for Cyrus otherwise she can out heal any damage.
Cyrus with Merchant for elemental damage all the way
That whole team is in their high 40s and just finished 3 of the 8 chapter 3s
The other four Olberic - Hunter, Tressa - Thief, Alfyn - Cleric, and Primrose - Scholar i dont use much aside for doing their chapters currently
Thought the whole party is geared out to the outside ring of weapons/armor. I have none of the 4 special jobs yet so I cant regear them to those yet
My current party:
Olberic the Runelord (My Protagonist)
H'aanit the Warmaster
Ophilia the Starseer
Cyrus the Sorcerer
Having melee characters carry the support skill that allows for a chance at an additional attack (hunter skill) stacks absolutely insanely with Runelord's ability to "enchant" the whole parties weapons.
What build you use cause im using that same party
How do you get sorrcerer
Grand Slam, the sorcerer shrine should be in the deeper parts of the woodlands.
@@LuddyFish_ Thanks!
Gives her a good spread of utility skills with Rehabilitation and First Aid to make her a decent back-up healer, plus Amputation and Last Stand to give her a solid damage dealer and an additional AoE
good to know I was thinking about making her an apothecary
I did the same, and her having healing as well as Alfyn saved my butt on multiple occasions
“Buy an Elemental Augmentor.” What? Where?
Awesome video! Thanks a lot for explaining all of the boni and mali of every char! You've eard yourself my sub. 👍
before I got the special jobs i had = Alfyn/Cleric, Primrose/Scholar, H'aanit/Dancer and therion/Merchant.
After, I had Alfyn/Runelord, Primrose/Sorcerer,
H'aanit/Warmaster, Therion/Merchant,
Therion/merchant so he could get EVERYTHING, steal loot, open purple chests, collect money AND items from bosses.
Oh so Tessa aka best girl is strong too thx
Yes uwu
Another fantastic analysis, that’s for sharing your recommendation for secondary jobs. I just have a feeling your channel is going to blow up to over 100k in the near future
I am right before chapter 4 and I personally like this setup:
Therion - warrior (incredible dodge tanker)
Tressa - Hunter ( I just like the outfit gives her a good amount of bow skills)
Alfyn - Cleric (guess I don't have to explain what he is doing)
And Primrose - Scholar ( given the occasion I can support and hit hard with her).
hmmm primrose stats have very good potential for being a hybrid actually. give her subclass warrior and she could do some real work with more attack, better weapons, higher hp, and still be able to debuff and cast dark magic effectively.
For me:
Ophilia: Cleric/Apothecary.
I play Olberic Turbo. Ophilia/Cyrus/Primrose Buff Olberic and Brand's Thunder bosses.
Therion as a cleric didn't make sense to me, since healing is based on elemental defense.
My current classes
Olberic - Warrior x Hunter
Cyrus - Scholar x Apothecary
Primrose - Dancer x Theif
Tressa - Merchant x Cleric
OMG someone that make Ophilia Warrior Nice I alwas tought of it in my top 3 job for her:
Warrior, Merchant and finally the (secret class call Runemaster I think tho I don't got the game yet so I can't tell it that really the right name)
Any way focusing on makeing her physical side slightly better but not bosting her HP since she can Overheal herself I think.
I'm currently at my fouth chapter 3, for the most part i am using in my party:
H'aanit since I started with her.
Having here for upkeeping the group hp is great since alfyn is always busy spamming elemental storms anyway now :'D
For the other characters I didnt really think about it because they are all too low lvl anyway.
Cant wait to get warbringer for H'aanit and i want to try sorcerer on alfyn...
Alfyn-cleric main healer good physical
Therion-apotecary secondary heals and debuffs
Olberic-theif, great physical damage and debuffs tank, evasion and steal hp and sp are great for the one on one duels
Tressa-scholar 1/2 price scholar spells are Broke
Wait
What part of tressa halves spell cost
@@seya8282 her support skill
i find that making Alfyn full on healer make his Coconut less useful overall so idk man you do you i guess
On my current playthrough I use:
Ophilia - Dancer
Cyrus - Cleric/Merchant
Tressa - Thief/Dancer
Olberic - Apothecary/Thief
Primrose - Scholar
Alfyn - Cleric/Merchant/Thief
Therion - Warrior/Hunter
H'aanit - Warrior
I switch secondary jobs for each chapter depending on the characters I use
I made a lot of the same picks you did:
Ophelia - mainly merchant
Cyrus - also merchant (obviously didn't run him together with Ophelia)
Tress - mainly cleric, but sometimes thief
Olberic - mainly apothecary
Primrose - mainly scholar
Alfyn - mainly warrior
Therion - mainly hunter
H'aanit - mainly thief
Primrose was my main, so I saw little reason to give anyone else dancer.
My main strat was BURN IT WITH FIRE! So....Primrose's Chapter 4 was a slight struggle.
I personally like to have 2 major damage dealers and 2 support members used to buff and heal the party. Alfyn is clearly the best healer with Concoct in both healing AND giving everyone BP. Seriously, the ability to always load everyone up with BP every turn is SO incredibly broken!
Best combos i found so far:
Ophilia -- Dancer
Cyrus -- Sorcerer (merchant or cleric or dancer before you get sorc)
Tressa - Hunter (Take Aim) -- she also works as warrior tank (she realy works as any class)
Olberic -- Apothecary for tank -- Warmaster for damage dealer (merchant is also a option to use rest, but can be problematic to use on some mobs)
Primrose -- Starseer to make her better buffer or Scholar as weak damage dealer
Alfyn -- Warrior or thief (thiefs expands his debufs on bosses) -- after that you can change him into a runelord to be even more usefull (you need party with high magic attack)
Therion -- Only usefull as merchant realy to work as a debuffer/ bp buffer as he lacks a good aoe as thief (hunter for more aoe)
Hannit-- warrior till you get warmaster (you gota buff her hp with items you get in game)
some people say Therion with Warrior because he dodges and deal massive dmg , tanky
Hunter is also great for Olberic so he has those multi-hitting breaking skills for both Poleaxes AND Bows!
Great video, man! Glad to see more people are making Octopath Traveler videos. Stats are important! My vid series details compatibility of secondary classes with each character if you want to check it out. Maybe we can collaborate sometime!
Where do you get these secondary jobs from?
I actually made Alfyn a cleric for a majority of the game. Using his concoct ability in tandem with his healing skills for both jobs and I think he makes the “best” healer since he can even give bp to the whole party.
The only ones I had really fixed were haanit who I made warrior and cyrus who I made a cleric unless ophelia was in my party than I made him a dancer
For Chapter 4 I used:
Cyrus as a Sorcerer (He was my protagonist)
Therion as a Runelord
Olberic as a Warmaster
Ophilia as a Starseer
I did switch my team around depending on which character's chapter I'm doing but I always had a team of characters with secret jobs and this combination was my favorite. Sometimes I switched out Olberic for H'aanit or Ophilia for Primrose, I always had Therion though for unlocking purple chests.
I really wish you had put the 4 special classes in this video as well
Thought so, too.
Another video for another day
My classes I used for my playthrough was warrior tressa, dancer Ceric, cleric alfyn, and rune therion but used Hunter before it
Ophilia: I went with Dancer to go full support and to open her up to daggers and dark.
He pairs well with other physical damage dealers because of his debuffs and natural stats
Therion: Merchant.
So i wasnt the only one who benched Therion. Kinda wish he had a party deflect damage tho like those cats.
69 wth how is everyone leveling so quick my squad is level 15 lol
Will you make a character build for Primrose? It's the only one you don't have.
So I haven't actually given my characters their jobs yet. I've just finished all of the Chapter 1 Stories and I have my own ideas on combinations and what I might use. This is just for the basic secondary jobs so far though.
Ophilia - Cleric and Dancer
I explain in further detail my reasoning in Primrose's segment but having Light and Dark magic together plus both heals and buffs would be cool.
Cyrus - Scholar and IDK
I don't really know what to give Cyrus but he's my protagonist so I need to think of something. If you guys have any ideas let me know. When I get to the point where I can get the advanced jobs I'll give him Sorcerer.
Tressa - Merchant and Cleric
Heals. Not much else of a reason. She would become a great support character.
Olberic - Warrior and Hunter
Pretty much the same reasons as H'annit getting the Warrior role which I put further down. They're the best physical fighters and even more weapons would work great.
Primrose - Dancer and Cleric, Scholar or Theif
Having Light and Dark magic together would be good.
Alfyn - Apothecary and Scholar
Ok hear me out here. I think this is a good combination because with would give Alfyn a more reliable source of elemental damage, as he won't always have all of the materials for concocting.
Therion - Theif and Merchant
With the support skill Snatch, Steal and Collect get double the loot. Plus I think it would work nicely as it would give him 4 weapons and Wind magic, which is really good. On top of that the Merchant has some of the best skills of the base 8 jobs in my opinion. This would turn Therion into a character who can attack and support.
H'annit - Hunter and Warrior/Apothecary
H'annit and Olberic are the best physical attackers so I think giving her the Warrior skills would work well.
I didn’t know H’aanit had such decent stats, I just thought she looked cool so she’s the one I picked first. Lol
Yeah her design is totally awesome!^^
The developers knew what they were doing when they gave her a stat spread to go with her design :P
Wow, that's really weird I used scholar H'annit too! In my case it was around the time magic became super useful and I experimented using thunderbird at full damage which surprisingly worked.
Tressa-Scholar (love magic in this game, and she was my starter character, so...)
Olberic-Thief (he was able to buff his own attack and then lower enemy defense, which was surprisingly good when paired with therion. Also, steal SP)
Primrose-Cleric (seemed like the best one for her, so she can buff our team while also keeping us alive. It blends so well for me)
Alfyn-Dancer (gave him something else to do when he's not healing....also, this was the only class left for him to take haha)
Therion-Hunter (more weapon options for him, and I really like the net trap move on the Hunter class, so having it on a speedy character was perfect for me)
Ha'annit-Warrior (with both the flying arrows and thousand spears abilities, she made for a good gauge breaker on the right enemies)
Ophilia-Merchant (Literally only for sidestep and donate bp. She would always heal enough to where bp was never really necessary for her all the time, so I used sidestep to give her better defensive options or donate to beef everyone else up)
Cyrus-Apothicary (....Cyrus really needed the hp lol)
I started with tressa :D because she's my first character, she's suuuper strong. And op and she can literally go with any jobs.
I used all girls mainly and I just finished all of their story and now I'll be doing the boys side and I'm wondering which jobs to put on them. I want to use merchant, cleric, dancer and hunter as the secondary jobs only, unless you guys suggest it's not a good idea. But I definitely need dancer and cleric :D
Alphyn is my favourite boi :) I think he's like tressa, sooo strong and very good at magic. And can survive longest anywhere
Btw, what I used for my girls team before the advanced jobs,
Tressa, merchant/(cleric/apothecary)
Primrose, dancer/scholar
Ophelia, cleric/merchant
H'aanit, Hunter/Theif
Dancers may not seem useful at first, but that seltigue skill used on Clerics allows cleric to use reflective veil on everyone to reflect element attacks which is very useful for literally any bosses on chapter 4 or advanced level bosses.
Using that 3 BP cleric skill on scholars will double spell attacks :D same for standard attackers. It's very useful to have Primrose and Ophelia together. => then bringing in advance jobs makes it even crazier
Tressa can revive anyone cause she rarely dies. And Hannit as a theif and using that theif debuffs and hunter skills makes everyone op :)
... I'm stuck on the boys tho. I admit that I'm staring at what sprites looks nice aaaa
New and currently running this team XD
H'aanit (Hunter/Thief)
Cyrus (Scholar/Merchant)
Ophellia (Cleric/Dancer)
Alfyn (Apothecary/Warrior)
Thief/cleric
Archer/warrior
Scholar/apothecary
Dancer/merchant
i make my MAIN team like this:
Tressa:have scholar so basilly a red mage that can do basiclly anything like you wanna hit enemy with weapon hard then she can do that(hired help can also cover up most of the weapon weakness),want to make her hit elemental attacks hard then she can do that too(she has wind magic and barely anyone weak to dark so yeah she cover almost every element),she can buff and debuff aswell with hire help and she help making money to buy all the stuff i need.
obleric:i made him the ultimate 1v1 machine with hunter class he can basiclly have every weakness possible and he can make their turn slower so his lower speed isnt a issue,he can buff his defense then guard for Bp then when their shield is 1 i buff his attack and accurate and crit then either do thousand spear or his divine skill if he has it,outside of 1v1 he the break shield with weapons character to me and my second aoe character beside Tressa and if all fail i just tank damage as usual.
Alfyn:basiclly he is the status effect dude that is also a tank i give him the warrior he is my support character that will never die because i give him the hp regen necklage with protection necklace aswell so he can survive to revive all character one at a time (i dont need a white mage right now but maybe later when boss do ton of damage fast)i have alot of money thank to Tressa to buy coconut items to give a buff to whole party or debuff enemies also he cant really die right now so if i ran out of way to revive i just use poison and defense to wait it out, damage is kinda meh but atleast he has acess to axe
Therion:i basiclly make him a secondary support so anything Alfyn didnt do he would do it instead so i give him the dancer class to buff my main damage source with damage while Alfyn giving them BP to murder anything but otherwise he kinda suck like the Only thing he can do beside all of that he can only steal if i am spare a turn but hey atleast he has dark now which a few enemies is weak to yayyyyyyy but i basiclly want to have him all the time because of path action so fuck me i guess.
Is it beneficial to use merchant with Cyrus for the SP saver ability?
Great video. I ended up trying out what you said and I made Therion a cleric (I usually go dancer) and I was very surprised with how well it worked
Can someone tell me what's going on with those stats boost? If I give Scholar to Oberlic, does he gain a small elemental increase as long as he has scholar equiped, or does he actually gain more elemental attack and element.defense when leveling up while being a scholar?
The short question would be: do sub-classes affect stat growth?
only started playing this game, the sub jobs i picked were pretty much the same, but for different reasons. i went a range of weps/elements for breaking purposes.
Probably should have mentioned the fact that Cyrus Merchant can restore his SP easily at any time with Rest.
Haannit + warrior
Therion + merchant
Primrose + scholar
Alphyn + cleric
Is what I started with and still using. Haven’t used the othe four characters, I have to level them all?
only if you want to end all the storys
Gps1337
Right now, im running both haanit, and olberic in my party, and they are both warrior/hunters. Olberic is a fucking beast at single combat...but, i think i went alittle overboard on non-magic damage. I have those two characters, Tressa, and Alfyn...:p
However, i just unlocked Cyrus and traded out Alfyn for him, and i turned Tressa into a Cleric, not really ficusing on optimum classes for Tressa, just needed a healer, im not sure if ill even keep her around after i get Therion...
Tressa will give you a lot of money
For what is speed useful? (Sry for bad English speaking German mainly)
No problem^^
Speed is useful for letting the character go first, before the enemy.
Nn Li yea thank you for the fast answer ... i guess i was asking a bit too fast for this becourse later in the video it was explained ^^ anyways ... thank you!
there is only one 'right' answer, and its runelord tressa
Your videos are very well done. Professional. Subbed.
Welcome aboard^^
My pick for Ophilia was warrior to. Mainly because it's likes shes a paladin that way.
*Octopath Emblem*
I used warrior Therion and so far he’s really good, hus attack stat is higher and he gets a strong early strike
Only at the chapter 2, my main party is made of (Best Boi) Alfyn the cleric and (Best Girl) Tressa the thief.
For others its, most of the time:
Ophilia the scholar
Cyrus the merchant
Olberic the hunter
Primrose depends on what is left (not chosen by rest of the party)
Therion the warrior
H'aanit the dancer
At least as of right now. Other then Best Boi and Best Girl, others change a lot more their secondary job.
Will you be able to change the secondary jobs?
Yep you can change it when ever u want
