    Hey Everyone!!
I was super nervous to put up a video of just my bare ass face! lol! I think there is something that happens to people who has ever suffered with ance. There's this lingering notion we can't ever show our face in fear of judgement, but what better way to face your fears than to JUST DO IT! :)
    XOXO

My Dad and I had a conversation back when I was 26 years old about how men's faces age better because they shave. So I decided to start shaving my face, and my skin looks pretty darned good for 42 years old.

You are a delight. I'm old and we didn't have skin care when I was growing up. I never could use a brow pencil. My brows were dark and unruly. I tweezed the loose ones underneath and between. I only found one person who was so great my face looked different. They brought out an electric version of this about fifteen years ago for mustaches. I used it on my cheeks the way you do. So much "peach fuzz" came off it was silly. My foundation went on better. I used it above my brows. I have light brown hair and simply had hair and no one talked except for the girls who bleached their upper lip. But since I couldn't tweeze and I didn't need more color shaving above the brow made it clean looking and I didn't get stubbles. It was easy to run between the brows. I'm glad there's a simple one and it's by Ardell. I am not a fan of professional micro-planing. The skin is an issue they don't discuss. I have thin skin. They e been forgotten but glycolic acid peels at the dermatologist leave that glow you loose with age and increase skin cell growth.
This is great. I'm in my 60s and my hair started thinning at the hair line in my 50s. Now it's also thinning. Unfortunately that area doesn't react to sitting with a laser cap on. I'm using Rogaine which takes forever to get going and has to be kept up. Hair has grown in front of my ears. Maybe I was sloppy in application. Also it's appeared at the temples. I'm doing this.
With light skin and dark hair why not laser it off?

I suffered through my teens & 20,s with acne, then i quit dairy and my skin cleared right up, so when my daughter became a teenager and having break out,s, i told her to stop dairy and again it worked for her. So people if you have a teen with acne issues, try the no dairy for 1 week. Hope this helps others and they don,t have to suffer for yrs.

OMG - you are so cute! This is awesome and thank you for the informatiion filled and non-judgemental video. Normally I will literally tweeze every single hair (it takes over an hour to get it all, or at least the majority of the hairs - which means the darker ones). So I think I will try it. It would be a relief to find another method that is not so tedious.

Ok so I braved up and bought a blade. I bought the Finishing Touch brand $25.00 at Chemist Warehouse in Australia 🇦🇺 . Yes it was at bit more than I wanted to pay but as I’m nearly 61 and my eyesight is not what it used to be, it has a light next to the blade. It also came with 6 replacement blades. I followed all the steps but as my skin is dry, I used a small amount of bio oil. I was shocked to say the least at how much peach fuzz I had especially near the outer edges of my eyes and around my ears, that little light showed every bit of peach fuzz OMG. Not going to lie my skin is a little red, but as my hair used to be red this is not a surprise. I go red very easily. My skin feels super smooth and can’t wait to see what it looks like tomorrow.

I was really considering doing laser removal bc my skin is so sensitive I’ve tried everything except laser and I react to stuff badly. Last time I tried to remove hair was with this new more expensive wax and it ripped the skin off my face, it wasn’t my first time either and I was over it all the methods of taking hair off. But since this method of “shaving” is so taboo it was pretty much my last resort so I tried it today and so far it’s doing fine. Thank you so much for making this video I appreciate it

@@kailalujano5538 I saw a dermatologist, they did an extraction procedure and told me to use Differin gel and prescribed a stronger benzoyl peroxide to use together in the spots I had the acne. It helped! My skin is much better, still have my hormonal breakouts but not as bad. The extraction made me want to cry when I did it because I basically had scars on my face for weeks but luckily I don't scar too easy so they went away. I still don't remove the hair on my face anymore this way lol I will probably let an esthetician do it at some point instead. My skin is just too sensitive.

I think my little hairs on my face cause my skin to be textured bc I have clear skin but I feel like itll be so much smoother if I shave it near my jaw. Just very hesitant bc I'm a girl and people usually dont like when girls shave. And I have very dark hair but my facial hair isn't noticeable,I can just feel it🤷‍♀️

I was also terrified for the same reason everyone else is. But I did say F-it, & shaved my face! It's alright, I gotta get the hang of the hand motion and find my comfortable positions. Anyway, also trying to rid my face of acne and trying the moisturizer she made! I've done research on all oils, & she's totally correct! That oil-moisturizer is our fountain of youth! Can't wait to start

Single blade is the answer for no ingrown hairs. You can get disposable razors with single blades. I put benzoyl cream on afterwards and wait till I apply make-up.

I’m peri-menopausal, so my hormones are all out of whack now and it hasn’t lessened my facial hair growth or appearance 😩 I’m not one of the lucky ones LOL I’m very fair skinned but with dark hair thick hair on my body, I mean I could shave me legs twice a day that’s how fast it grows. I’ve been waxing my crazy thick brows and mustache for 25 years, the fine hair on the rest of my face isn’t dark but it’s a lot and noticeable to me. I’ve always been afraid that if I started shaving it that it would grow in dark and thick like the rest of my hair on my body does.
But now knowing that it doesn’t behave the same way I am going to have to try this. I’m 45 so I know I could use a bit of a dermaplaning for the top skin layer removal, even without the added benefit of hair removal. But with the added benefit of the hair removal?!? It just seems like a win-win for me. I recently bought the finishing touch facial thingy but it doesn’t get all the hair nor does it have the benefits of dermaplaning the skin. And that’s what I really want. Ordering these razors forthwith!!!!

While her skin seems to be oily, my skin is so dry that the mere thought of dry shaving makes me cringe. 😱
What works for me is a shave oil. It’s made for men, but it was a game changer for me. I get the closest, smoothest shave I’ve ever had. (Legs, bikini area, and face) It’s specifically designed to prevent nicks and cuts. It may not be for everyone, but I’ll never shave again without it.

Jeniffer Mendez Absolutely. It’s called Shave Secret Shave Oil. It’s the first time I’ve ever bought anything like this at a drugstore, but it works much better than any high end product I used before. If your store doesn’t carry it, you can get at www.shavesecret.com.

Why should we get rid of as much oil as possible/not moisturize beforehand? I've seen other videos where they will use a facial oil or some kind of lubricant so the blade glides better. Trying to figure out what way I should try it since I already have oily acne-prone skin, but not using anything seems like it would be irritating. Nice video, you're so pretty!

    • @raquelfrominsideout
      @raquelfrominsideout  4 роки тому

Because oils and moisturizers lay down the hairs and doing it dry get a closer shave, but your can do it the other way too if you prefer.

Hi! Thanks so much for the informative video. I had a few follow-up questions. It’d be awesome if you could answer them when you get a chance! Here they are:
I’ve seen some other people (albeit non-aestheticians) use aloe vera as a lubricant to put on their faces before derma-planing; would that be okay to use?
What can we use instead of witch hazel if aloe is not a good option?
What kind of after-care can we do besides serum?
How often should you repeat the process? Does it depend on the person or should we do 2weeks like you did?
What to do if you accidentally nick your skin?
