I loved that part of the video because it feels like a really good parody of how many mechanics there are in the game now. I love the jabs like this that players take at the game.
The ending is everything I ever imagined Cedric and Patrick playing commander together would be, as a long time Re-Sleevables pod listener it’s perfection.
It just makes sense! And I have a hunch that Ced actually baited Patrick into doing that. I mean, I don't doubt he plays that game when doing mtg online, but he _knows_ that Patrick can out B.S. him in defeat. Just look at him sit back and close his eyes!😂
As soon as the sticker card came into play, it looked like Patrick was about to have an aneurysm, same feeling I had when the sticker cards were made legal.
@@casteanpreswyn7528 Dude, no way. The counters work how you think they do except that positive and negative counters cancelling out is only true for +1/+1 and -1/-1s. Otherwise those are just counters that do what they say they do. Dexterity cards, granted, are stupid, but are conceptually like destroying stuff at random. Stickers break so many conventions of the game and are really only similar to the ability of Skullbriar, which was also a mistake of a design.

I have to say Cedric played this game masterfully; he understood the dynamics from the get go, and laid low, even defending the Professor, so that he could continue unleashing his rage on Jim, and then, out of nowhere (kinda, after building up for so many turns) he just one-shotted almost everyone. Well played!
The French "next time on" was very sweet for Canadian Highlander, a perfect cherry on top for watching Patrick's victory in defeat all the way through. "Tu me battras jamais avec ça!!"
I think its hilarious how all the pros drew cards the same way and ket their hands facedown when it wasn't their turn. The professor was casual the whole time and was practically showing Jim his hand .
Patrick Sullivan responding to the sticker sheets is PEAK! OMG, rarely do truly LOL, but my God seeing this man's reaction to the sticker sheet was cathartic and hilarious.
The funny thing about yelling "TREAT ASSESSMENT" is similar to yelling "YOU ARE DECIDING WRONG" in Among Us. It's a great way to be right while still ensuring everyone else will choose wrong.
Patrick Sullivan slowly turning more red during the resolution of Council's Judgement is everything I wanted and more when I read that Prof was forcing three veteran Magic Pros to play commander EDIT: Just got to Patrick reacting to the stickers and I had to pause the video since I'm in a library atm and don't want my uncontrollable laughter to distrub the people around me xD
As someone who doesn't play a lot of Magic I still love this channel. Something about it reminds me of watching my older brother and his friends playing 20 years ago, while a late night Godzilla marathon played in the background.
This is actually the single most entertaining piece of commander content I have ever consumed. And I have consumed probably thousands of epps of commander content. Everyone involved deserves freaking awards or something. Bravo!
It’s crazy how it’s already episode 45 of the series I remember when you released the first one! Glad you keep making these always excited to watch them.
Cedric and Patrick were literally the reason to watch SCG coverage. The fact i've seen these two commentate Jim's games multiple times just made me instantly click on the video. Pat is probably the funniest person in the MTG commentary game, and Cedric is just all around entertaining. Hoping to get more of them in the booth one day. Make me watch some paper magic again.
this episode was a true showing of how the college's deckbuilders know their stuff. every deck was filled with "what the heck is this" for people who don't play commander
The not complaining thing is important. It's a sign of bad sportsmanship if you get mad when your opponent plays the game correctly. Now obviously there are exceptions, but generally, you shouldn't complain or even care about 2 damage at 40 life
This might be my favorite commander game aired. Been really enjoying Cedric and P Sully's Reesleevables podcast but seeing them play is always a treat, especially Commander! Jim too, he's awesome and fun on his streams! Thanks for this, Prof. You're a legend!
This episode has such a special energy, watching 3 pro players fall apart during a single game of commander. I was skeptical before I started watching, but I think this is one of the best episodes.

That's so complicated and not at all accurate. The grisselbrand one is way better.
At 10 minutes in this is the most passive-aggressive game I've seen and all they've played is lands.
