My name is Erich and I live in Italy welcome to my channel. I used to play golf on and off for many years, but I started my journey again about 8 years ago, changing my swing completely.
My goal is to become a single figure handicap golfer in the near future.
To achieve this goal, I built my own backyard putting green and set up a backyard golf net. I love playing in my backyard green, doing drills, club reviews and playing at the range and at the course to get better at the game and ultimately reach my goal (hopefully).

Glad to see that there is another option out there that traces ball flights other then shotracer. Looks like it tracks pretty well. The only downside is having to line up the ball before you hit it. Very cool app thou.
I will be using this app for my vlogs, it does the tracking live, no need for me to edit my shots later, a great way to save time for me

I got the app and it did say that it would not work with a yellow ball. I am going to the driving range today where they have yellow balls and I will test it myself.
Also, I noticed that you cannot reverse the side you are viewing/recording from. I had trouble with my phone holder where I needed to hold my phone in such a way that the tripod got in the way, which has since been fixed.
After today's results, I might go ahead and purchase it for $10 to see if it truly read the yardage of each club against my range finder.
Nonetheless, this is an EXCELLENT FIND! Thanks again.
It’s way better than the shot tracer app, I’m just using the free version and it works just fine. I just have to position my iPhone vertically on my tripod. The only issue I had it’s that when it’s really hot, it gives me an overheating warning and it doesn’t work.

OK, the verdict is in:, I agree HANDS-DOWN this App is the BEST golf tracing App out there.
I too am using the free version for now. The yellow range balls "DID NOT" register with the app for me, but that's not a show-stopper.
Not being able to record from the front of my phone does present a line-up and button pushing problem as I have to hold my phone by the bottom edge for access to the record button when it's on the tripod.
I plan to reach out to SmoothSwing to see if there is a way around this.
Shortly after I send this post, I will probably purchase a license and see if the club yardage is accurate. As it stands right now, I use a range finder and hope I can get a reading on something near my ball when I am on the driving range.

nice app, i'm looking for something to keep score and distance to the flag. i've seen some good ones that other vloggers use but no idea the name.
There are many I think, some have free trials, other are for payment, try a Garmin watch 👌
is there any way to trace previous golf clips, i keep trying but dont get anywhere, some advice would be great thank you
I don’t think you can, I also tried and I looked at the pro version and there is no such feature unfortunately

Can you upload a previous swing or do all swings need to be taken in the app?
No, you cannot, it only traces live videos, but it’s worth it, very reliable
Can you do multiple shots or will it trace just one at a time
So this app does NOT tell you how far you carried the shot???
No, it's only a shot tracer app, it will not give you the distance
Great video; do you have any other golf apps to recommend?
I also recommend "Skillest" and"Golf Fix" app, very good and free of charge
I see the map keeps coming up. Does it actually tell you where your ball has most likely landed? If yes then this is even more amazing than I thought.
I did see a map, but I never tried it, not sure how that works, but I can tell you that the tracer is very reliable as you can see in this video

Cool to see some competition to ShotTracer. Hopefully it comes to Android or even better to PC as a plugin. I've been in contact with ShotTracer as separate application out of the video editor doesn't work for me. Anyway great app. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Nothing compared to shot tracer, with this app you don't have to worry about any manual tracking or errors, it's very good and you don't have to pay anything, I'm not sure how it's done, but as you see in the video, it's 100% reliable and it reads every single shot, in fact I will be using it in all my upcoming vlogs.
Shot tracer has been so bad for months. First it was crashing all the time and once that stopped, I have to manually trace all my shots now. Are you experiencing that?
@@Dunwin316 I don’t use shot tracer anymore, I got fed up of all the manual tracking, try this one it’s amazing and it’s free!
@thebackyardgolfer7010 I have android but friends are using it and looks like a great app. Shot tracer was great until whatever changed recently
Probably works well since you have that dark Mountain View in the background for the ball to contrast against.
I’ve used it in other places and it has always worked very well for me
It look super nice but it does not work on certain iPhones like my iPhone 8 😢

Yes, it's free, the pay subscription just gives you different colors I think, very good app!
Missing out on not having this on android phones
They should come out with an Android version hopefully, I only use this app now, it’s so reliable and hassle free
I can’t seem to find an app to trace my club head in my swing. Know of one?
There are a few apps, some require payment, but they are not very reliable and they only give you club speed, no shot shaping or face position, you need a golf radar for that

Can you use old videos or do you have to film directly within the app?
You can tap on load video, but it will not let you track the shot, it shows a lock. I think you have to get the paid version for that. I was tempted to buy it, it costs 9.99, but I'm not a 100% sure that you can edit old videos. In any case the app it's super accurate

Will this work if my phone is sideways, and not up and down? I can’t seem to find a phone mount that mounts a phone onto a tripod up and down
No it will not, it only works with your phone vertically, my adapter allows my to use my iPhone both horizontallly or vertically, you can find one cheap 👌

@@moos9 its a mount, a phone holder that can hold your phone both hotizontally or vertically and you can also hook it up to your tripod

No, unfortunately it only does live videos vertically, but it’s super accurate

it's free of charge, you have to pay if you want to change colors and remove the logo of have other features
