Test is super interesting and I do think you show the potential of how it can effect your putting. I’d like to see it done with maybe more premium golf balls like what Bryson plays with (left dash). Other than that it would be smart to get yourself or fabricate a rig that makes this test more consistent. Great content nonetheless!!

I notice, when you slow the videos down and look closely, that the balls usually wobble left to right as they roll down the track. This is compounded by your release being inconsistent. When the ball leaves the track it sometimes exits significantly right or left depending on it's wobble at the time. I assume this is caused by the dimples causing a rocking effect as it rolls down. I expect this is made worse because your track it too thin. A wider V shaped track would likely remove this variable. I'm sure there are other variables, and I'm sure others will point them out, but this is a big one that jumped out to me right away.

The ground is a huge variable you are ignoring. Your ball release is also not consistent as well. You need a machine on a consistent surface that isn't grass to do a proper test.

Basically how we did it back in highschool but we didn't have handicaps. Cool video!!🏌‍♂⛳

i did this just for fun to see, knowing it wont make a bit of difference and out of almost all of the new prov1xs i had at home MAYBE 2 of them were out of balance.

I think tactical mistakes is a big difference between 2-6 hcp. For example, on the first hole, if you look at the misses you take into play with an 8 iron. If you instead hit it further than the two bunkers with a 7iron and 2-putt backwards, your misses wouldn't be chipping over any of the bunkers. Especially if you have struggles with the direction of your irons <3

Try real life putting test with balanced ball and unbalanced ball to show how big the effect is..

Nice WITB! Maybe try a sim max 3 wood to match your current driver. I have a Cobra LTDX and hit it pretty good. I’m gaming the sim 2 max 9° which looks similar to yours.

so you're really onto something here. i went out to my backyard practice mat area and tried this and it worked great. i also tried getting it to happen at different spots like early before the bottom of the arc and more at the ball and a point after the ball and i got different ball heights but all went on a nice small draws toward the middle. i cant't wait to try it for real later this week, thnx.

i've also tried leaving the hands and wrists really loose and letting the weight of the club cock and uncock the wrists and it works real well for a while but can turn into a flip for me.

i've tried pointing the thumbs up on the backswing and pointing the thumbs down to hit the ball. i've had the 'impact snap' device for years and sometimes work with it to train the wrist and hand action.

i think at the top coming down the left wrist is in extension.

Bryson literally tells you how to mark and still use an out of balance ball. Don't have to toss them out of the bag 😂

i've been golfing for about 50 years and have known ulnar deviation exists for the last ten years or so but it just dawned on me yesterday that we're in ulnar at address and it has to be at some point hitting the ball. then i started thinking that it's in a lot of things we do like using a hammer or axe, casting a fishing rod, hockey and baseball. i'm gonna work on this and see if i can get it to happen naturally or actually apply it in my action. thnx for the help.

Hey buddy.. I've been following you since Covid I built a course here in Nova Scotia. I don't have any putting surfaces. I have 5 flags and I draw a 3 foot radius circle around the flag. So my 5 flag course I drive. Approach, chip, then take a conceed stroke for getting it close to the flag stick. If I hit the stick I don't mark a conceed stroke .. Anyway.. There is a high speed still shot of Bryson driving the ball.. it LOOKS like he is hitting the ball so hard that he's smashing the paint off of it.. ( there's a cloud of white) It's not paint it's SALT.. Do you think.. if you were to soak your golf balls in Epsom salt. Then let them dry... Without wiping them off.. would the fine salt particles reduce spin? Basically making the ball fly straighter???

How much does this REALLY affect ball performance?

Do you have a Check-Go? I am shocked and annoyed at how inconsistent balls are - the markings are all bullshit - but that's what most players use for alignment!

i'm pretty sure this would only apply to an elite player - highly doubt anyone else would be able to notice.

Just a thought but I think Bryson meant that if it’s unbalanced than you mark it on the spot that it turns to each time and that is the axis you want to roll it on when you play that ball so it will roll straight. The imbalanced weight as long as you line that dot up will roll end over end. Don’t throw them away just mark them appropriately
