HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION (poem - I just made it on the spot) Say hello to goodbye because it comes so fast and it stays engraved forever in your mind. Do you remember all the talks we had over these 4 years all the laughs we shared over these 4 years even all the screams and cries we uttered these 4 short years. When I stop and look at the photos from the past times I do feel sad because I truly thought I would not. Why is that? Is it because you we were so close of a group that I just can't imagine how it will all go without you here. Is it because we had yelled at the same teachers Is it because we had sat in the same bleachers Or is it just because in every goodbye You leave a small part of you with the other person. That joke, that story we told to one another Now even though a short time passed It reminds me of all of you. Shouldn't I be happy ? I finally escaped all the misery and sadness High school brought to me But I realised it isn't about the bad things It brought to me it is about the good ones So, thank you all for the memories you gave to me And remember... Say hello to goodbye because it comes so fast and it stays engraved forever in your mind.

I would suggest looking up open mics, poetry slams or spoken word events in your area online. Also you could look up some of these poetry competitions.
yea there are quite a few open mic, but I'm in music city. Everyone expects instruments accompanied with song. I am looking for something like this. Like where does Button poetry get all of these from!?
Button typically goes to IWPS, WOWPS, NPS, etc. national slams like that. Look up those competitions and see how you can get involved. That may include traveling. Also, if the places you go expect instruments give them the unexpected and blow the room away with the simplistic urgency of your words.
