I just bought a 1966 Chevy C10 truck. What's the chances of a 1966 Chevy C10 truck in a parking lot?

    We have quite a few of the 60 thru 66 trucks. One a 66 3/4 belongs to Debbie. It was a gift from Her Daddy. He bought it brand new in December of 1965.

      Yes I remember that video about Debbie's truck and the story of how she got it! Very interesting video! Good to hear from you my friend and tell Miss Debbie that we said, Hey!

    Niiiiiiiiiiice truck PIB! Amazing the number of GM gear-heads there are out there huh? It's 57 years old and it will probably run for another 57 years. Thanks for the upload Buddy!

    Sweet ride! Really bang-up job all the way around.
    But it sure needs 8" Rallys with some meaty tires instead of those dinky 7" and small tires.

      I'd say that he is going to do that after the paint jib. Thanks

    It's so cool to meet others who share our love for these old trucks!
    I used to have '60, '62, '63 and '66 model's, all of them rollers but I had big plans of doing LS swaps in them. They were all in great shape, mostly complete, minimal rust etc. I shopped around for a 5.3 with 4L60e and found one through a buddy so I bought it. I must have been at the right place at the right time to acquire all those trucks because i bought them all from different locations within the span of a years time and my son used to joke about how if I kept it up before too long I'd have my "very own junkyard"!
    Well, to make the long story short, I began to realize that although I really liked all those trucks I actually preferred the 67-72 and the 73-87 model's so I changed my mind and sold them faster than I bought them. In less than 3 months they were all gone because I kept getting offers I couldn't refuse!
    I learned a lot about them while I had them and if i were to offer any advise it would be to get that gas tank out from behind the seat and go with an external fuel cell. You'll feel better freeing up space behind the seat for extra storage or a speaker box and you'll be safer not having a tank full of flammable, combustible liquid a mere 3" from your rear end!

    • @primeredisbest
      @primeredisbest  11 місяців тому

      That is a good point about the gas tank. I used to do that on my 57 Chevy trucks when I had them. Hopefully I can get that done that way as well on the 66. Don't worry about changing your mind about trucks, as I have changed my mind about years of trucks that I like many times! Lol. Good to hear from you my friend! Thanks!

    What makes that pickup & yours unique is 66 was the last year for that body design & the first year for reverse lights. Amazing to see that one there in the parking lot because you don't see many around anymore.

    • @primeredisbest
      @primeredisbest  11 місяців тому +1

    No coincidences here, Jimmy. It's according to what was already in your mind weeks ago. That said, you have a 66 with incredible potential. Maybe you can look around one of your classic Chevy forums for even more ideas. This guy you met is probably on such a message board as such. :)

    Good morning, Jimmy. Your new friend sure has a sweet ride there. He had a lot of good ideas on what to do to his truck. I know you will bring yours into the patina style of your flavor. I'll be glad when you get it home so you can play with it. You and Mrs. PIB have an enjoyable day and God bless .

    Good morning Jimmy and mrs. Pib that's a very nice looking at 66 Chevy truck Jimmy you can make yours look just that good or better I'll give you an a I will give you a tech tip do not put a wooden bed and your 66 truck they are nothing but trouble go with a metal bed if you keep a wooden bed out of the weather they are great😅 can't wait to watch you start working on it Jimmy you and mrs. Pib have a blessed day

      If keeping it squirreled away and rarely driving the the truck is good for a wooden bed, then Jimmy is unquestionably the perfect candidate.

      I put pressure treated decking in mine 23 years ago and now it’s got that barn wood look that I dig but mine is always been just a beat up ol hotrod hauler
