RV Bed Platform DIY | KING Size Mattress UPGRADE

What's going on everyone. We tackled a big RV project today. Finally lengthened our sleeping platform to accommodate our new king size mattress I surprise Jordana with for our Anniversary. When we bought the RV it came with a decent mattress, but it was no where near a comfortable size for us to sleep on. With full time RV life on the horizon, we made the decision to upgrade.

I am going to do a similar project in my new Jayco, but it is more of a replacement platform that is a lot sturdier and can handle the weight of a latex mattress. One thing I was hoping to see here was whether you were going to install air ventilation holes or a slat system for air circulation to prevent mold. Moisture is a big problem with rv’s/vans especially in high humidity areas. Even normal body perspiration and breath in a confined area can cause mold growth as foam is just a sponge that draws moisture without airflow

We haven't had an issue with mold growth, but I have been researching different systems. Might happen down the line a bit. It's definitely on our radar.

Me and my family are looking into buy an Rv with a full size bed and we would like to put our king Casper mattress in so this video helped give me an idea on how to do it
