EASY ALMOND CROISSANT RECIPE:
(my adapted version)
Pre-heat oven 180C Fan. Line a baking tin with greaseproof paper. In a small bowl, mix 80g ground almonds, 50g unsalted butter (melted), 40g golden caster sugar , 1 tsp almond extract and 1/2 tsp kirsch until a thick paste is formed. Unroll 1 packet of Jus Roll croissant dough onto a floured surface. Spread the almond mixture evenly along the dough. Starting at the short end, roll up the dough tightly, then cut into 6 circles. Place the almond swirls into the prepared tin, leaving plenty of space in between, as these will spread when cooking. Brush the tops of the swirls with a beaten egg, then scatter a handful of flaked almonds over their tops. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Welcome to the start of my Christmas vlogs! I'm looking forward to sharing plenty of festive & cosy content over the coming weeks. Please check the video description box for all relevant links & my adapted almond croissant recipe. Miranda x
I just discovered your channel. Perfect timing!
This is my favorite Christmas vlog! ❄️
Miranda's enthusiasm is quite contagious
It really is, I have just ordered that sumptuous Wind in the Willows.
Thank you so much for this delightful video. Thank you for the reading and decorating inspirations. From a tired, soon to be retired school teacher from Montreal Canada.
I’m not sure how you outdo yourself week after week but I am just so glad I am here for it. Thank you for the loving work you put into your channel. My daughter-in-law and I are making a tradition of watching your vlogs together on Saturday morning and we both are loving your Christmas bookshelves! What an inspiration for book lovers and those who love the holiday season.
Thank you so much for your very lovely comment! I’m really thrilled to be part of a weekend routine you share with your daughter-in-law - how lovely 😊 📚❤️
Your approach to living and reading is so inspirational, Miranda. Really looking forward to your festive videos!
Thank you so much! That’s lovely of you to say 🎄❤️
Honestly, this is the best Christmas vlog I've watched in ages
That’s very kind! Thank you! 🎄❤️
@@MirandaMills thank you for this cozy vlog, it was what I desperately needed after a tiring day
Would love to see your favourite Christmas/winter picture books
OMG Miranda! I can’t believe the first of your books is Wind in the Willows! My dad bought me a very special edition when I was just 7. It was the most beautiful book, the illustrations were lovely. I read it from cover to cover so many times. Sadly I lost my dad when I was 10, and after moving countless times as a child, the book was lost! I have never forgotten that book, and always check bookshops wherever I go, hoping to find it again. Your edition looks beautiful, and I might just treat myself to one. Thanks for sparking bittersweet memories.
It is such a wonderful book 😊❤️
I hope you can get a copy and it bring back happy memories. It’s a wonderful story.
Reading as a lifestyle. A way of life. 🙌🏾👏🏾
Thank you for sharing! Always nice seeing your sweet mum. Who else is watching her previous Christmas Vlogs?!? 🎄🎅❄
Hello Miranda, thank you for this wonderfully festive and magical video. I had to stop and rewind the almond croissant segment to check whether my hearing was playing tricks on me 😀. Thank you, that was most kind and very special. And now I shall have to check out Nadia's recipe too. I loved seeing the transformation of the bookcase for the Christmas season. All best wishes, Jason
Thank you for inspiring such a yummy breakfast, Jason 😄 I adapted the recipe a bit, so you can also check out my version in the description box (although Nadiya’s cookbook is lovely- I highly recommend!). Hope you’re having a lovely start to the weekend! 🎄📚
@@MirandaMills You have inspired me to set up the Christmas tree and the Elizabeth Harbour ornaments. Have a wonderful weekend ahead.😀
What a sweet little Christmas Tree! I enjoy your channel so much! You seem like a kindred spirit to me. I had a beautiful collection of Christmas books that were lost to me. When I moved from my house to here, I forgot to empty my tiny bks that had ALL my Christmas Books in it. Nothing g else. When I realized it over a month later, the new owner would NOT let me come get them or have them. I begged. To this day (8 yrs. later) I cry for those books when Christmas approaches. I always served tea and cocoa and cookies when we decorated our family tree. Really like when your Mom joins you. You seem to have a good and close relationship with her. How special. Hope you do some Christmas Blogs this year (2023). Thank so much!
This was such a great video that it actually gave me cold chills! You have me enthusiastic about Christmas! So glad you showed the Miss Read books, too. My favorites! Your channel is a joy to watch.
That’s so kind, Karen! Thank you very much; I’m so pleased you enjoyed the video & that it put you in a festive mood! 😊❤️🎄
I love Jeanette Winterson's book Christmas Days and Village Christmas by Laurie Lee are lovely books.
Hi Miranda, I watched this video a few days ago but forgot to comment! I loved the whole 41 minutes, you created such a lovely festive atmosphere and it was a real pleasure to watch. One comment I really wanted to make about 'The Serious Reader' company was that this reading lamp would be excellent for someone with early macular degeneration (such as my husband) - I feel that the 'daylight ' might extend such people's ability to enjoy reading, jigsaw puzzles, embroidery, etc. Thank you for bringing it to our attention!
That's wonderful Carol; I do hope you find information about these lights useful. Take care ❤️
“…the romantic mists of November…”.
How poetic Miss M!
Loved this vlog as usual Miranda, thank you for taking the time to create & post it. Last weekend my husband & our younger grandson put up the outside Christmas lights at the front of our home & also our Christmas tree in the lounge. I spent all this last week decorating the inside of our home, which includes an artificial but traditional looking tree in the lounge, a modern, wooden, simple tree from Habitat in our dining room. A white, pre-lit twiggy tree in our bedroom, an artificial 3ft tree in the back bedroom & a china tree in the smallest bedroom. Garland across the mantlepiece in the lounge with festive lights, tinsel & lights going up the stairs, Elizabeth Harbour decorations festoon our rooms & various advent calendars are ready to be opened. This is the earliest we have started 'trimming up' as my parents used to call it, but we are away next weekend & then it's December!!! Take care until your next post & thank you for such lovely content & inspiration ❤ xx
So lovely, Miranda! I prefer the cold weather and am looking forward to next week’s Cozy Book Club as I think the author really gets at the blessings of a ‘dormant’ season. I’m hosting my Jane Austen book club in December and you’ve inspired me to put together a holiday book centerpiece - such a great idea! Finally, tonight I’m visiting the Maine Historical Society shop to pick up a Longfellow House Advent calendar - I’m already looking forward to December 1 so I can start enjoying the illustrations. Many thanks to you and Donna for sharing your decorations with us! ❤️❤️❤️
Your plans sound lovely! 🎄❤️
For me, this has to be one of my favourite videos I have seen from you. I so loved it all. The idea of a Christmas book shelf is very new to me, but so inspiring. It's like an adult advent book calendar spin off. Love, love, love.
Thank you so much, Maggie! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! My Christmas bookcase is making me very happy 😊❤️🎄
I passed the last 40 or so minutes enjoying this video. My husband is on his second cold this winter and I'm just recovering from an asthma flare. It's been a dark gray day here in Kentucky but this video was so cheering! Thank you! I liked the balance of the various activities you shared. It was wonderfully paced! What a lovely tree. I particularly like your angel topper and how it was tied to the tree.
Thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you and your husband feel much better soon! 🎄 ❤️
This has been such a heartwarming and cozy video, thank you💕. The Wind in the Willows book is gorgeous. I had ordered Christmas Chronicles after seeing it in one of your previous videos and I can’t wait to start it. I finished Wintering earlier this week so I’ll be ready for next week’s video. Your Christmas bookcase is amazing! A cordless floor lamp is genius! There are never enough outlets it seems. And I love Jason’s inspiration in this vlog also. I always look forward to his comments at our comfort book club. The croissants look delicious. So lovely to see Donna also. And your tree is simply beautiful🥰 have a lovely weekend, Miranda❤️
Thank you so much, Sandy! I’m so glad you enjoyed this video, and I’m excited for you to start the Christmas Chronicles for the first time! Yes, I *love* having the cordless lamp! So does mum as she often reads on the couch too 😂 Hope you have a wonderful weekend too! ❤️🎄😊
I spotted Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory in your video, which is the book that kicks off the holiday season for me. I was lucky to attend a function forty or more years ago and hear Capote read it in a huge auditorium. Even though there were hundreds of people in attendance, hearing him read it was a profoundly personal experience. Not many dry eyes in the house by the time he was finished; it remains my favorite author reading even after all these years. Thank you for reminding me it is time to pull my book from the shelf and get the holidays started!
Wow, that must have been such a magical experience! ❤️
Oh what a beautiful experience.
A Christmas Memory is my go-to holiday read, too. How amazing to have heard it read / performed by the Capote himself!
Oh, I was just thinking about Capote’s story. It is one of my very favorites and I want to read it soon. How lucky to have heard him read it. Have you ever seen the movie of it?
Your enthusiasm for Christmas has inspired me. I love to make the stollen recipe from Nigel Slater’s Christmas Chronicles; it has become a tradition. Your videos are such a pleasure, thank you!
That's a lovely tradition, Penny! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video, thank you! 🎄 ❤️
This was glorious. The best, coziest Christmas vlog ever. Thank you so much for your cozy content. I adore it.
Thanks so much, Gina! 📚🎄
Wow!!! que increíble colección de libros solo de navidad. 😮😍 ¡Qué hermoso!
So lovely! The croissants looked delicious. Now I want an almond croissant. What has Jason done? Lol. 🤍 Looking forward to your vlogmas!
Nigel Slater’s Christmas Chronicles is also a fabulous audiobook listen, read by the author himself 🎄🦌
I loved this video! It's warm and cozy. The love, laughter, and joy between you and your mom is awesome. Your living room is beautiful with all your bookshelves and the Christmas decorations just enhance it more. There's a couple of Christmas books that I want to look up on Amazon. One thing for sure, your videos make me feel happy.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment; I’m really pleased you enjoyed this video. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤️🎄
Dear Miranda, after such a hectic week what a emotional, festive cozy video. Thank you for sharing your time with us. You’re Christmas book collection is such a dream to have. I love seasonal reading . My heart feels so happy and festive after watching this video ! 🎄😌🎄
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video and that it was restorative after a hectic week. Hope you can enjoy some calm & cosy this weekend! 🌲 ❤️
What a beautiful book case display
What a treat to kick off the festive season. Loved seeing your Christmas book collection . Wonderful recipe! Looking forward to the Comfort Book Club discussion. Thank you, Miranda, for your beautiful videos. They are such a joy and bright light in the world. My best to your Mum.
Thank you so much for your very kind words! They are much appreciated ❤️
Such a beautiful selection of Christmas books! This video was so peaceful and definitely put me in the Christmas Spirit!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you ❤️
Lovely festive vlog Miranda. I’m sitting here watching you by the wood burner with my sock knitting, feeling very cosy….all I need is an almond croissant and a glass of mulled 🍷. Love the new edition of Wind in the Willows. Beautiful illustrations, I think this needs to go my Xmas list. Best wishes to you and your mum.
That does indeed sound lovely and cosy! I’m so glad you enjoyed this vlog, Janette, thank you 🎄❤️
Comfort and Joy, that’s what your videos bring me 🙏🏼
This was such a joyous video full of warmth and festive joy. Your vlogmas videos are always so wonderful 😊
Thank you so much, Sophie! 😊📚🎄
I couldn’t resist, I ordered that copy of Wind in the Willows.
As much as your vlog made me feel festive, it also made me feel nostalgic... Christmas has that effect on you. Thank you for the mixed feelings.
🌲✨🌲 One word for this video: CHRISTMAS! Thank you so much from Belgium. Maggie ✨🌲✨
Omg you got a giant version of ‘The Wind in the Willows’? That’s awesome! Great illustrations and a great bookmark 👏🏽
Doesn’t it look gorgeous! May we have the details please? I would love to buy a copy.
Please check the description box: the book is linked there.
Ah! Thanks. I was being a bit slow there- not clicking on the more… bit dozy today. I have preordered. It looks totally irresistible. And the bookmark!
It is a beautiful book! I’m not sure if books ordered now will include the bookmark, as I know I got extras from having pledged on kickstarter. But the illustrations in the book itself are delightful!
@@MirandaMills I have to admit to saying Ooh! to them as you showed us the pages. I am a huge Willows fan (since childhood), adore Shepard’s illustrations and thought I could resist getting any more… but this edition is something else.
Lovely Christmas book collection, the book case looks so festive!
Thank you! 😊❤️🎄
Oh I wish we were neighbors! You made me feel all cozy and happy!
You are an absolute delight! Thank you for your wonderful, inspiring content! You sweet spirit is a balm to a weary soul!!! 💞
I have had a terrible desire to remove the tree and the decorations from the boxes! Thank you for such a beautiful Christmas video blog, forty-one minutes of entertainment, fun and contagious joy. Xxx
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you very much for your lovely comment 😊❤️🎄
A Christmas Party! That’s the book that started my addiction to Georgette Heyer books. Love that book! I’m currently listening to it on audio books.
The timing couldn't be more perfect as today we had our first snow of the year here in Poland! It's beginning to feel like Christmas ☺️🎄❄️☃️
Oh lovely! Hope you stay cosy & warm ☺️❄️❤️
I always loose track of time whilst cleaning my shelves
As always , your videos are a pocket of peace, calm and a cuppa. This is my fav time of year. Take care
I've started my Christmas reading but I've added some from your bookshelf to my wish list. The croissants look delicious. I might try them for my family. (We also live in an old house with no overhead lighting. We have special plugs on lamps that connect to the main light switch in each room.)
Thank you for a wonderful vlog! I agree with you, there is so much to appreciate in every month of the year. I have been sorting through my Elizabeth Harbour decorations just now 😄! I generally use these in season, but I've created a few ensembles around the house that stay all year, including her Faithful Friend decoration - I've untied the cord and have it standing against a framed Faithful Friend card, with a little posy of flowers alongside for all the dogs I've loved. Her designs are just so special. I must check my books too, as I think a have a couple of festive mysteries that I didn't get to last year!
How lovely! Elizabeth Harbour decorations are so special 😊❤️🎄
I’m drinking my morning coffee out of a mug that reads “ Fall In Love”:and yet there is snow on the ground from the squalls we experienced yesterday evening. Sigh…it’s the seasons are so conflicting this time of year! But at any rate I am certainly enjoying your cozy video and I am getting excited for Thanksgiving with my children back from college and then the Christmas season to come !
Hello dear Miranda and thank you so much for the lovely video. I must admit I have been delaying it because I was not in a very festive mood due to some healthy, work and money problems I guess we all face some times but your cozy video, the lovely country scenes at the beginning as well as your sweet book recommendations and Christmas preparations have definitely light the sparks of Christmas again in my eyes and I definitely can’t wait to make my little home look cozy and festive and have some longing and needed time at home
With my children enjoying the magic of the previous days before Christmas . Thank you so much for this really needed video! Lots of love, Isabel ❤️🎄
PS: you are doing a great job, please continue this way because you have reopened a long time a go closed door in my life.
Thank you so much for your very kind words and support, Isabel! They both mean so much. I hope you feel better soon and can enjoy a well-earned rest in the run up to Christmas with your family. Take care! ❤️
Ugh. You and your Mom are the sweetest things.
THANK YOU so much for this charming video. It really warmed my heart. I felt like you were sending an English Christmas card right to me in America 🥰
This video was so much fun! Elegant and festive, perfect.
Thank you very much! 🎄
Enjoyed this so much. So many wonderful books for Christmas. I have that same edition of Childs Christmas in Wales and read it every December. I also just got my copy of the Christmas short stories. Looking forward to it. The almond croissants looked so good. Made my mouth water. 😂. Loved all your decorations. So thank you Miranda, you're really helping me get in the mood for the holidays. Hello to your mom. Take care. 📚🎄🤗💕💕
So glad you enjoyed this, Diane! Thanks for your lovely comment as always! 😊🎄
Thank you so much for such a wonderful Christmas mood! 🎄☺️ I really enjoyed this video! Especially seeing some of your Christmas reads from the stack and as you were leafing through some of them 😍 I ordered two books from your stack as I was watching your video, I couldn’t resist it! 😁 I’ve also been completely converted to seasonal reading by watching your videos. So mush so that I am in the process of getting a special small bedside bookshelf that will have my seasonal reads. It really enhanced my reading experience. Somehow my reading got better, more regular and a lot more enjoyable 💫 thank you so much, Miranda! 💕
Thank you so much for your lovely support, Kristine - I very much appreciate it! I'm so happy you're enjoying reading more seasonally, and that my videos have helped with some seasonal recommendations. Hope you're having a happy weekend! xxx
Thank you so much, Miranda! it is always a great week-end when I can start Saturday morning with my first cup of coffee ☕ and your video and when books arrive. S.Hill's The Christmas Collection came together with Overton's The Thirteen Days of Christmas as per your recommendation, second-hand and in excellent condition. 🥰📚
P.S. Also, I've been re-reading Adam Gopnik's Winter: Five Windows on the Season; I am sure you heard of this book before, but if not, it might make a good addition to your wonderful winter book collection.
Happy Sunday! 🙃
What a pleasure it was to watch this video. I enjoyed a big mug of tea and a cranberry crumble bar as well. The "cheater" almond croissants looked amazing.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Gina - thank you! I highly recommend giving the almond croissants a go! So delicious! xxx
What a joy this video is! I am definitely going to look out that recipe and what a great idea the cordless lamps are - there is never a power point where you want one! Wishing you both a wonderful Christmas season x
Thank you so much, Sue! Wishing you the same 😊❤️
What a simply magical vlog with an inspiring mix of books, ideas & festive joy Thank you so much Just love the thought of a Christmas Bookshelf and have started searching out some books already Enjoy your weekend 🎄 🎁
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, thank you! It was so much fun seeing most of my Christmas books gathered together in my bedroom - I feel happy whenever I walk past that bookcase! 📚 ❤️ 🎄
This was such a comforting and festive video to watch curled up with a cup of hot chocolate ... a perfect way to begin my weekend after a rather hectic work week. Thank you, Miranda. The tree looks so beautiful btw (I especially loved the ballet shoes ornament) ... and you have now inspired me to dress my Christmas tree next weekend. I hope it's not too early to wish you and Donna a wonderful Christmas. Your channel really has become my comfort corner of the Internet. 🎄💜
Thank you very much, Suzy! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and that it put you in a festive mood. Have a lovely weekend 🎄 ❤️
I agree, what a heartwarming channel you have created, Miranda. You and your mama are wonderful 💕❄️
I was traveling in Bath on my own a few years ago, happily and lazily wandering the Christmas Markets of England. It was the most fabulous time. Your holiday vlog brought back so many happy memories. Thank you.
Wow, thank you so much for your very generous support, Marina! It's very kind of you and very much appreciated! I'm so glad my Bath vlog brought back happy memories of your own visit. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season ❤️
Just love your videos... especially around this time of year. Your tree is adorable and I love the way your bookshelf turned out!! Very much looking forward to more festive videos. 😊❤️🎄
Thank you! 🎄
The Winterwear is on point. 👏🏽
🎄You have a lovely taste for decoration, Miranda. Thanks for letting us enjoy of this cozy and well-done video! 🎄
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed it 😊
@Miranda Mills Thank you very much to you! My mum also enjoyed the video. Despite she doesn't understand English, she loved the images. 😊💜
What a perfect, cozy video to enjoy in the midst of our winter snowstorm in the Buffalo and Western New York area. You, along with the snowfall, have definitely put us in the mood for the holidays. Your Christmas book collection is wonderfully curated and so inspiring…thank you for sharing it with us!!❄️☃️🎄💚
Hope you stay warm, cosy and dry this weekend! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video ❤️ 🎄
I thoroughly enjoyed your cozy Christmas vlog, you put so much thought into your videos. The Christmas bookcase is such a lovely idea. I am looking forward to your next one.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad you enjoyed this vlog ❤️
I truly loved the intro and I couldn’t agree more with all you’ve said there. I never really disliked November, but I’ve come to fully appreciate it with time, as I got older 🍂 It is almost like a break month after October, which is usually rather hectic for me, and the festive hustle of December 🎄 so I like to enjoy its calm and misty days 🍂 I really loved this first Christmas vlog 😍 loved how you set up the bookshelf in your room 😍 and in general loved the cosy atmosphere you created in the video, with the baking, the decorating and your lovely mom’s presence. I can’t wait to start my Christmas deco as well! 🎄I’m also reading “Wintering” and I hope to muster the courage to send a voice contribution if I feel I have something interesting to say about it. I’m truly enjoying the book anyway. Have a lovely weekend Miranda and Donna; looking forward to the next video ♥️
Thank you very much! So glad you enjoyed the video 🎄❤️
Truly lovely vlog, Miranda! Loking forward to the next ones! Also, so great to see your Mum in it, she is such a sweet contributor and I enjoyed seeing your interactions 😍
Thanks so much! 😊 🎄
Now that is what I call a beautiful home. Bookcases everywhere filled to the brim. Thank you so much for this joyful video.
Thank you very much! We definitely believe a room isn’t complete without plenty of books 😂📚❤️
I just found your channel while watching videos about books! How wonderful! 🍁It’s a pleasure to listen to you and thank you for the book recommendations. Greetings from Los Angeles 🎉
Thank you and welcome! 👋🏻
I loved your take on the Christmas stories! I only contributed a few, and was so impressed by what the editorial team found. I did love the Munro one despite being vegetarian, but I think I like a bit of realism alongside my cosiness at Christmas :D
Thanks Simon! That Alice Munro one will never be a favourite of mine, but there were certainly others I loved! And now I must track down more Kathleen Norris…
This has really put me in the mood. Time to dig out the holiday ornaments. Thank you. Lynn.
Wonderful vlog Miranda! I enjoyed so much! ❤❤❤❤
This is truly therapeutical.
Hi Miranda, I totally an enjoying your you tube channel and today I placed an order for my Serious Reader light. So happy to receive your special free shipping, I'm in the USA, and also the free light. Such a great deal. Thank you so much xoxo

Yay! Thank you 🎄📚❤️
I am so grateful to have found this channel. My love for children's literature and my love for Christmas has brought me to you and I plan on staying here forever
I’m so glad! Thank you 🎄❤️
I wasn't in much of a festive spirit until now after watching your video. You have inspired me to put together my own collection of seasonal books (some of which I recognized in this video). Also, I could almost smell those almond croissants after they came out of the oven!
I’m so glad this helped get you in the mood for the upcoming season, Gail! The almond croissants did smell & taste delicious- I so recommend them 😄
This vlog absolutely filled my heart with joy! I love the way you talk about books and your imagery and video footage makes me feel like I'm watching a vintage Christmas movie. I can't wait for more festive content like this! 🌟
Oh that’s lovely! Thank you so much! ❤️
I love Christmas books! I have just subscribed to your channel. You have a lovely way of presenting. I love that Wind in the Willows book and am sure I will enjoy watching your vids. Thank you.😊
Thank you so much! ❤️

Lovely
I really loved this heart-warming vlog Miranda, thank you so much. Your Christmas bookshelf and tree just brought such joy to my heart. I have to admit that seeing you and your mom together eating those beautiful croissants and chatting made me tear up as my mom has recently passed away. I truly hope you and Fonna spend some amazing quality time together this holidays. 🤗
I'm so sorry for your loss, Liz ❤️
Lovely and festive. Wonderful way to start the holiday season.
Hi Miranda, thank you for featuring my illustrated 'The Wind in the Willows'! It's very special to see you positive reaction to the book :)
My pleasure, Chris! It's a beautiful edition of the book!
I have a book on Christmas Mysteries which I haven’t read. It’s part of the British Library Crime Classics.
Another cozy, Christmas video, I'm looking forward to watching however many you post on UA-cam. I'm reading Greenglass House throughout this Christmas season , I think you would really like it too.
Thank you Miranda for your video! I truly love your exquisite taste in choosing books and decorations for your home. I’ve decided to follow you ( you tube and Instagram) and join your Comfort Book Club: you provide a space of simple pleasures so hard to find nowadays. You have a new friend in Italy!
I’m so glad! Thank you very much for your kind words ❤️📚
Just love your recommendations, your channel, and your keen eye. Thanks for being a bright, shining light in this world!
Thank you so much! That’s very kind of you to say! 😊❤️
Hi Miranda, this video was a great companion here in the highlands of Scotland with the November wind and rain howling round the house. I really enjoyed your Christmas bookshelves and have made notes on rather a lot of them (!). Almond croissants are my faves and I am very tempted to try them myself. I noticed Jill Barklem’s Winter Story too and I simply love to pour over the illustrations and read her beautiful words. Thank you so much for such a cosy vlog. Xx
I’m so glad you enjoyed my video, Anne, thank you! I hope you can stay cosy this weekend. Yes, I’ve been a Brambly Hedge fan since childhood - Jill Barklem’s illustrations are such a joy. And I highly recommend making the almond croissants! Delicious! 😊
Watching this in the heat of August makes me happy!
Enjoyed this so much. Thank you.
I loved the beginning with your poignant thoughts and words-so atmospheric. When you film outside, it adds a special dimension. Your bookshelf, recipe and inspiring ideas make me ready to put my tree up for the holidays. Lovely as usual. Thank you for your artistic work🥀♥️
So glad you enjoyed it, Shanne! Have a lovely weekend ❤️ 🎄
Your home is so cozy and festive. Lovely and relaxing video, thank you.
Thank you very much! 🎄❤️
Your Christmas bookshelf arranging and tree decorating is magical! Thank you for your review of Stories for Christmas and the Festive Season! I'd been wondering whether to buy it. I love Kathleen Norris, especially her memoir Dakota: A Spiritual Geography. I didn't know she wrote shorter works; what a discovery! Boy those almond croissants sound good! And I serendipitously have that very cookbook checked out from the library. I'll definitely be making those.
Thanks so much, Elizabeth! The Kathleen Norris you mean is actually a different Kathleen Norris from the author featured in the British Library book (someone else commented on here thinking the same as you). This is the Kathleen Norris I was talking about: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathleen_Norris
I’ll have to check out the Kathleen you mean too though! 😊🎄
@@MirandaMills You're welcome. And thank you for pointing out the difference between the two. I'll have to check out the other Kathleen Norris. 😆
So nice to have a christmas video today, it makes one so happy. Your christmas tree is beautiful, I love it ! I tried to make croissant dough too and it took also hours and the result was quite disappointing ; it needs much practising I think, so now I just buy them at the bakery.
Thank you very much! I have to say, I love this cheat almond croissant recipe - so much easier than trying to make croissant dough! Xxx
Your video just made my heart happy! Lovely visually and soothing to the soul. Thank you!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Your Christmas bookcase is adorable - the selection would rival a library! I was happy with my intention to read 5 or 6 Christmas books this year but it looks like I have a long way to go 😊
Thanks so much! I’ve grown my Christmas book collection over many years 😊❤️🎄📚
This was a lovely cheering watch on a very grey and damp November afternoon. The almond croissants look delicious!
I love this vlog , Miranda thank you so much.
Thanks so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 😊❤️🎄
