Here are seven channels I love to watch while I knit (or work...or just chill). Enjoy! ❤ FYI There’s a million “that’s what she said” opportunities here. You’re welcome. 😎
Tiny Desk Concerts, how could I not know about this channel. Really enjoying the music, hearing groups I have never heard of. Thank you for your utube suggestions.
Taylor, consider keeping the 1-needle circular. I use them for temporary life line when I am frogging a project to correct a major mistake in a pattern. 'The remaining tip makes it easy to pick up the stitches in your work. If you want to have the tip-less end to be capped, use a heat sourse (i.e. a wood burner) to melt some of the plastic cable to a cap like a milk or juice container.
I love the Knit Picks interchangeable needles. It looks as if you are missing the tightening pins that come with them. After screwing the needle to the cord, one needs to put the tightening pin in a small hole at the base of the needle and then tighten. I've never had a problem. I think possibly a paper clip end could do the trick if you don't have the tighteners.
As a new knitter, I watch a lot of knitting content and learn so much from it! Other than that, I watch Easy German, a language channel. I moved to Germany 4,5 years ago and am still improving my German by it. The 'Easy Languages' channels also have Easy Spanish, Easy Italian etc. The great thing about it is that they teach you the language from the streets. Highly recommended!
Yes! I’m obsessed with NPR Tiny Desk Concerts! I’ve discovered so many “new to me” artists and have thoroughly enjoyed very different performances from artists I already know. Highly recommend!
I watch UA-cam while knitting. I enjoy Becky (Acre Homestead), How to renovate a chateau, Garden Answer, Homeworthy (especially the new segment about Garrow Kedinger and his new Paris Apartment), xomacenna, Trent and Ali (formerly van lifers but now housebound because they have children), among others.
Thank you for sharing these channels. I do often stick to just Knitting channels. I was really afraid tho you were going to say you watch Mark Iplier’s channel for gaming! My daughter has loved watching him since she was like 10 (she is now almost 19) His voice is burned into my brain 😂
I'll add two more to the list. I think you and your kids would love The Trek Planner. He goes to Google Earth, finds an anomaly on the map, then treks to it. These are desert treks, so lots of hidden places the Ancient Peoples created. Then I also watch The Repair Shop. These are master artisans that repair items that have sentimental value to the person. They spend a lot of time discussing with the owner the reason they want to have it repaired. Or restored. Or made functional. I love valued artisans shows.
Personally I found that after a while the knit picks/knit pro needles don't stay done up no matter how tight you initially do them up. I think the thread must wear with use.
That gave me a chuckle. That was the last organizer I was expecting. Pretty brilliant. My go-to knitting videos are also travel but mostly people sailing around the world.
When you want to feel as cool as Tayler and you realize you both watch Trent and Tiny Desk (my favorite is the Hadestown musical). This was a great video 💛
I love watching the Honeystead and Roots & Rufuge, as I’m an herbalist. I also enjoy watching the Fiber Trek because of the variety of making. Reflections of Life is my new favorite though. Thank for sharing!
I love to watch Gemma wheeler architecture. They are not long videos, generally less than 10 mins but amazing what she does with small and quirky spaces.
Love the art channel suggestions and travel. I’m very into art. I also have those wooden needles and don’t like them. The cable is to hard and gets tangled too easily. I love my chia goo the most but only have one because so expensive. The slow travelers family reminds me of gardeners world.
Country Life Vlog! Gorgeous peaceful Azerbaijan. Crazy beautiful. It’s the visual upside of all fantasy and fairytale, with fabulous food and no narration. I get that it’s somewhat staged, but wow! The landscapes, the animals. Highly highly highly recommend.
Fun new episode. Thanks! I’m on the hunt for audiobooks narrated by excellent narrators. That is the best thing I can think of. I love literature but also learning things - like the Great Courses works. Just sayin’ - that’s my jam!
Love this one!!! What a fun concept for a ramble! ❤ My go to study movie in college was the movie Aliens if that makes you feel better about the gamer guy! 😂 excited for pear Fleur and Trent the traveler! We watch “simple life Alaska” “outdoor boys” and “van wives”
I have lots of tips for 7’s and 8’s. I absolutely love the chiaogoo interchangeables. Especially the lace tips. I’ve recently even invested in the shorties set that has those sizes. So good!
LOL, i did not take you for an RDR girl 😂 one of my favorite non-knitting channels with longform content is Cozy K, who does hobby vlogs and some cozy gaming (she's always super fun to watch around the holidays). i also appreciate the feedback on lykke needles!! i'm considering getting my first set of interchangeables and i was debating between lykke or lantern moon.
Fun video Tayler! There are so many interesting topics to explore! I watch music, food, tiny home tours, Architectural Digest, to name a few. I'm also a cross stitcher and crocheter, so all things fiber arts interest me. Just before your first foodie recommendation, you held up a pair of wooden needles with a swivel tip preparing to get rid of them. Those are, interestingly enough, ChiaoGoo Spin bamboo needles, and your Red Lace cables will fit them. I use them together when I need a little more grip for my silky yarn. :)
Thank you for your lovely podcast and all the recommendations. I did feel over saturated and over whelmed with all the knitting content UA-cam was throwing at me. I love the art and music and travel recommendations. I’m also in the midst of organizing my needles as well. Thanks for the idea.
I watch videos about Tiny Houses and the channel Never too Small. I pair that with decluttering channels 😂. I guess I am looking for inspiration to let it all go!
I can relate to the number of needles of a size. It seem 4.5mm is my jam! Since I received my Chiagoo interchangable set, I've been donating my needles to "friends"....I'm actually enabling them over to the knit side! LOL
I watch a lot of woodworking/ turning videos, Frank Howarth is my favorite. The Repair Shop. Gotta love the BBC for all the good feels. I can’t wait to watch the gamer guy. I used to sit in my daughter’s room and knit while she played scary games. LOL
I feel you on the good lord why do I have so many of this size? My omg so much size is 8s. Specifically in bamboo DPNS, I hardly ever use DPNS anymore but when I started knitting 20 years ago I guess I was really in to them.
This was a fun video to watch! I have a canvas wall hanging with pockets for my needles that I got from Amazon. I usually watch streaming stuff when I knit. Right now I’m binging all of the Star Trek series and Doc Martin alternatively. I love to watch the British mysteries like Midsomer Murders etc as well. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving - I’ll see you after!
Love your videos. Thanks for the amazing content. I have heard that if you immerse the stiff cables in hot water, it will soften them to be more usable. Good to try, especially if you love the tips and so dont want to get rid of the needles.
Great organization tool . I will be buying one . I love this quirky podcast called The Tape Library. It is not for everyone... spooky, supernatural, urban legend mixed in with a little true crime content, but his voice is incredible
one of my go to knitting videos/series is the Victioran/Edwardian Farm series put out by I think it was BBC but can be found on Absolute History. It's a great background but also can be paid attention to, I've rewatched it so many times.
ChiaoGoo makes an interchangeable needle tightener! It’s perfect! Silicone heart that you use to tighten needles and other items in a kit called ChiaoGoo Twist.
Unorganized circulars are scary enough for me. I watch Garden Answer and Ariel Bisset. My needles are in clear zip cases in 2 big binders. There is a shelf in my studio but no wall space. I also get to watch you!
Ive been watching less podcasts and listening to audio books. I'm currently listening to David Copperfield and Washington: A life. Yours is still a fav. I also like Danish Musings and Knitting Traditions for a relaxing vibe. I used to watch more but I find it makes me want more... And I'm trying to have a slower, contented knitting practice.
Unbelievable cuz today I organized my circulars too… in elongated marked plastic see thru bags…. But YOUR idea is genius! I’ve seen fabric panels where u slip the needles thru x my local knit shop Black Sheep owner makes them! They’re beautiful! I’m thinking the plastic bags might curl the cables too much! My goodness! But amazing we’re on same track! Ho hum! Always new ideas! Don’t get tangled up! lol
Highly recommend the Sylvan Esso Tiny Desk session. They’re an electronic duo and the lead singer’s background is Appalachian music. So unique and beautiful. And Baumgartner Restoration for incredible and chill art vibes to knit to!
I usually only watch knit and crochet channels and now a book tube channel called Good Books Lately (maybe you’ve heard of it? 😉). Have you watched Danish Musings (Helle) she was just a travel channel but has now added knitting so you get the best of both worlds. I have never had my Knit Picks come undone but have heard others who have had that issue. 🌻
I had surgery this past week and am down for a lengthy recovery. These suggestions could not have come at a better time. And yes - I will be knitting a Felix sweater while I’m out of commission! Thank you!
Thanks for this! I usually watch YOU while I knit!😂 However, I love art and food and music, so looking very forward to checking out your suggestions! If you love the ASMR of food prep and soothing visuals, go check out the Wood Fired Oven Chef! Also love watching Jackie Schomburg doing her painting and collage…her voice is soothing and she’s a great process art teacher.
Lot of home renovations fans here! Cool. Going to list mine because they are untypical here. Besides knitting vids, I have long watched Abandoned and Forgotten Places-excellent abandoned mine exploration!-wood turning videos, and (less restful) Meidas Touch Network, LegalAF, MrBallen, Bedtime Stories, and Wartime Stories. The last three are scary/mystery narratives.
I'm too lazy to scroll through 145 comments LOL, but those bamboo ones with the rotating join are Chiagoo Spins. I'm also not in love with the cord, but if it's the interchangeable tips, they fit on the red cords for the Chiagoo Twist stainless steel needles.
Sorted is a fun food channel from England has chefs and "normals" (non-chefs). It can be quite funny. Also The Stitchery and Shannan Makes. I also find Nami's Life a very relaxing one, but I have to be doing something that doesn't require my attention because it is all in subtitles, no speaking. Thank you for the ones you've listed
The more I watched this video the more I felt like I was looking (or listening!) in a mirror! How exciting to find someone who is also into knitting, watching gaming, reading, and I know you have mentioned milo rossi before in a recent video! Very cool
I also got into video games from watching my older brother play and that's the main reason I watch playthroughs now! I game myself quite a lot, but it's just so cozy and nostalgic to watch someone else
Comment about your 4.5 mm interchangeable needles where the tips don't stay attached to the cable. Try reading the instructions and using the included tool to tighten the to to the cable. Used properly, these are my favorite brand of interchangeables.
I had a massive sort out of my needles and my knit picks/knitpro all went due to the issue of not staying tight. I prefer the addi bayonet connection. Definitely plan to try some chiagoo since i hear great things about them. I go through phases with channels. Baumgartner Restoration can be a good one for longer relaxing and interesting videos.
My youngest kiddo (who’s a teen, by the way!) LOOOOOOVES Red Dead Redemption II and watched Outlaw Gary a lot. Hasn’t watched him recently, but when she did, she loved it
Love how you are talking about your needles brands. I have some of the same troubles. Can you specifically talk about the different problems you have had with your brands? I’m beginner knitter with a size 6 and have been having ring finger pain issues. How do you work with the smaller needle without pain?
I watch a lot of non knitting YT while knitting. Books, Svalbard, renovating cottages in Scotland, building homesteads in New South Wales and Norwegian trains. 😂
I really enjoyed this video! I’m always on the hunt for things to watch while knitting that don’t require me to keep my eyes on the screen, lol! Great tip for needle storage! Thank you! I do have a question about using the needle gauge. I have noticed when using a needle gauge that a needle could fit in a couple of different sized holes. So, what is the rule on that as far as determining which size is the correct one? Do you use the one it completely slips in & out of or the one it goes in to but stops at a certain point? I hope this is making sense. 🤪
I don't even knit, but I'm replacing all the political channels I used to follow with pleasant content. Thanks for doing this video. Oh, and that Mexican blanket makes me want to try knitting!
The UA-cam channels I live watching- Trent and Allie (they were van lifers but are building their home in Utah) they are a family with 2 young boys. They are great. It's family friendly too! I love also The Indie Project (were van lifers Bea and Theo, family friendly and they were redoing abandoned two different homestead in Portugal). They are funny too! Their are a family with live stock cats and now a disabled dog. I also watch blogs and podcasts with Arne and Carlos, which are family friendly. They are funny and sweet. They live in Norway.
You have given some great suggestions - I will check them out. One UA-cam creator that I love to follow, besides you 😂, Is ‘Answers with Joe’, fun science and stuff. Good sense of humor and I am always entertained while I learn new stuff as I work on my knitting projects. 😊
Lately I’ve been watching videos on history hit (I’m a sucker for history documentaries), videos on Craftsy which admittedly I have to avoid knitting videos cause I find I get mixed up, but also I watch sewing videos on UA-cam.
Have you been down the Ren rabbit hole? Ren's an independent artist that's self taught. Hi Ren, The Tales of Jenny and Screech, and Money Game 3 are music videos that feel like scenes out of a musical. He's been battling the effects of being misdiagnosed for years while Lyme disease had its way with him. The pain and suffering he's endured throughout the last 10+ years has resulted in some incredible music. You will be blown away by his talent.

Anyone else knit to this channel? 😂
I'm knitting right now to it - a sheep using lots of bobble stitch...
Awww a bobble sheep! ☺️
@@foxymitts4557 adorable!
Yah!! 😊
Only ALL THE TIME!!!! 😂❤
I love the Knit Picks interchangeable needles. It looks as if you are missing the tightening pins that come with them. I think possibly a paper clip end could do the trick if you don't have the tighteners.
I have them too and have same issue as Tayler. I've wondered if that was the solution. I'll try again!
A pushpin actually works in a pinch! I had to resort to that today with mine and it worked beautifully!
The Last Homely House and The Last Homely Garden are wonderful channels.
Yes! I’m obsessed with NPR Tiny Desk Concerts! I’ve discovered so many “new to me” artists and have thoroughly enjoyed very different performances from artists I already know. Highly recommend!
100%. I love it so much for the exact reasons.
The colors of your Mexican blanket! 💙💛♥
Thank you!!
I watch UA-cam while knitting. I watch Escape to The Country - a British show about moving to the country and looking for real estate. There is history and travel in every show.
Great show to binge!
I'll add two more to the list. I think you and your kids would love The Trek Planner. He goes to Google Earth, finds an anomaly on the map, then treks to it. For the knit picks interchangeable needles, you just need to use the key to tighten. Then they're good to go!
Personally I found that after a while the knit picks/knit pro needles don't stay done up no matter how tight you initially do them up. I think the thread must wear with use.
Yes, buuuut the problem is that even with doing that, they still come loose. For me at least.
I find that they stay tightened if I use a non-Knit Picks cable. And you're right. Their cables are not great.
@@halliealmas879what cables do you use?
That gave me a chuckle. That was the last organizer I was expecting. Pretty brilliant. My go-to knitting videos are also travel but mostly people sailing around the world.
Taylor, this was so fun! I'd kinda forgotten Tiny Desk, and I love it. I'll check out the artist ans Slow travels as well. Thanks!
My middle son who is a musician and educator, introduced me to Tiny Desk Concerts! They’re wonderful!
I’m so glad you enjoyed this Joann! ❤️❤️
I love watching Rajiv Surendra while I'm knitting. He's such a fun, curious fellow who revels in beauty in every aspect of his life.
Yes! I love Rajiv. In fact, the last time I did a video like this, his channel was one I mentioned. Such a cool guy. So interesting. ❤️
I made a Felix Cardigan last year and absolutely love it!! Must make more! That is a great tool…thanks for sharing!!
I watched the FORKS/Twilight Camping video…so cool! 🤭😉
Congratulations on your new milestone!! You and Cody deserve it. Hmmm, my favorite yarn, that's tough. Lion Brand Jeans popped into mind.
When you want to feel as cool as Tayler and you realize you both watch Trent and Tiny Desk (my favorite is the Hadestown musical). This was a great video 💛
Omg I love that you also watch Hollow while you knit❤
I love watching the Honeystead and Roots & Rufuge, as I’m an herbalist. I also enjoy watching the Fiber Trek because of the variety of making. Reflections of Life is my new favorite though. Thank for sharing!

Love this! One of my favorites is Nicola White. She mudlarks on the Thames.
Thank you for introducing me to Nicola White.

My absolute favorite Tiny Desk concerts are Sylvan Esso and Brittany Howard. Amazing!
Omg I LOVE Sylvan Esso. The TDC is incredible! ❤️❤️💥💥
YES! I just recommended Sylvan Esso here in a comment (whoops) so we are definitely on the same page spreading the message lol
Fun video Tayler! There are so many interesting topics to explore! I watch music, food, tiny home tours, Architectural Digest, to name a few. I'm also a cross stitcher and crocheter, so all things fiber arts interest me.

I can relate to the number of needles of a size. It seem 4.5mm is my jam! Since I received my Chiagoo interchangable set, I've been donating my needles to "friends"....I'm actually enabling them over to the knit side! LOL
Thanks for the video recommendations, Taylor. Much appreciated!
I watch a lot of woodworking/ turning videos, Frank Howarth is my favorite. The Repair Shop. Gotta love the BBC for all the good feels.
I can’t wait to watch the gamer guy. I used to sit in my daughter’s room and knit while she played scary games. LOL
The Repair Shop is great!
I also LOVE chaigoo interchangeables.

I watch a lot of knitting videos, travel, & reno. I also have a lot of US size 4 needles, I guess I knit a lot of accessories. 😁
I'm knitting the same you are wearing ...first Felix pullover with Letltopi yarn..I like also the cardigan😮

Love Pear Fleur, love Brian Lagerstrom, two of my favorites for a long time! ❤❤

ChiaoGoo makes an interchangeable needle tightener! It’s perfect! Silicone heart that you use to tighten needles and other items in a kit called ChiaoGoo Twist.
Yes!! I love it and use it all the time. In a pinch, an asparagus rubber band works well too. ☺️

Great video. Love the needle storage thingy. Gotta get one. Even loved the mention of different you tubes.
Knit Picks will stay tight if you use the little key that comes with them to tighten.
Ive been watching less podcasts and listening to audio books. I'm currently listening to David Copperfield and Washington: A life.

What a fun video!!! Thanks so much
Such a well timed video as I am seeking some different options than knitting and politics 😅. Thank you. I enjoy your channel.
Banana bread with Greek yogurt and molasses! The molasses would definitely make the bread moister. Yummy 😋

So, what is the rule on that as far as determining which size is the correct one? Do you use the one it completely slips in & out of or the one it goes in to but stops at a certain point? I hope this is making sense. 🤪
I love my square needles
Remember way back when you had the idea to make the Mexican blanket for the back of your couch?? Vision realized!… And it's gorgeous 😍
Thanks needed this
I have several 7 and 4 needles
This was wild… I watch All of these channels, myself 😂❤
I love Imogen Heep! I have two cds of hers from way back…
Same! Love her. ❤️
Lately I’ve been watching videos on history hit (I’m a sucker for history documentaries), videos on Craftsy which admittedly I have to avoid knitting videos cause I find I get mixed up, but also I watch sewing videos on UA-cam.
Where do you donate your knitting needles? I have tons I would love to donate! Love that are sharing non-knitting UA-cam videos. Thank you!
Great question. I donate them to the senior center near my home.
