LCD Soundsystem sucks so hard, their own fans got mad at them for getting back together. That's pretty bad, right? Would anyone know or care about this band if dude hadn't founded DFA Records? No, they would not.

Haha, you guys are awesome. I always thought they were a super mediocre band before the "we're breaking up forever!" shit, but that took them into worst ever and hateworthy territory. Did you guys ever see the documentary? They all act so self important to the point it is sickeningly cringeworthy... "If this is a funeral...let's make it the best funeral ever!" - "what are you going to do now? - I don't know...my life starts after our last ever show" ugh...so many rage inducing quotes. I never knew the singer was the founder of a famous label, but that makes complete sense and explains why a band like this could get so popular. So goddamn awful.
LCD Soundsystem is pretty good electronic Indie dance music infused with punk. The lyrics are rarely cringe, the vocal serve its purpose but isn’t the main attraction. Starting from the first album all the way to 2010’s “Is This Happening”. I must say even if you don’t like the music it is always interesting. Good shit breh
I avoided listening to this band solely because of how stupid the name was and I'm definitely not changing that now.
Check out ‘This is Happening’. It’s a great album. The songs are admittedly repetitive, yet engaging.
I’ve never yelled “Please shut the f*^k up!” to a song until I was forced to listen to this band by a work playlist. Of course there was another 25 minutes left of my life I had to live in misery.
MDMA is the only reason anybody liked this band.
I consider myself a "music person" and i have never heard of this band. Of all of your videos this and Mastadon are the only 2 bands I ain't never heard of.

I love ‘This is Happening’ every song on that is a masterpiece.

Saw this band tonight on SNL. Look, I am a person that likes many genres of music but I don't know how anyone can call this shit music at all. There is nothing musical about it. Just sounds like incoherent random noises with somebody's high school science teacher as the lead "singer" if you can call it singing. Wtf.
Kinda pointless speculating about what LCD would or wouldn't be if they were from somewhere other than New York because an identical band couldn't have come from anywhere else any more than Elvis could have been Elvis if he'd been born in Kenya or Beethoven could have been Beethoven if he'd been born in the western suburbs of Sydney in the mid 1950s.

James Murphy would be the first guy to admit to LCD Soundsystem being derivative, and yes you have every right to hate his band for that reason. And you should hate Led Zeppelin too for the exact same reason
At least Zeppelin improved on their influences.
@@shinybeast8946 Sometimes they didn't even bother changing the title of the song. Just hubrisly crossed out original songwriter's name and credited themselves. See Jake Holmes - Dazed and Confused. You call that an improvement. More like theft, impunity, bullying and greed.
@@waz3128 So write off their whole catalogue because of the few cases where they ripped off some lesser known artists. They were still a great band.

Im not a fan of LCD Soundsystem at all. But making fun of someone's appearance? Not their style, but the way they were born...that's just in poor taste. Music should have nothing to do with what someone looks like, so why even mention it? You guys have some good banter and the occasional blip of musical sophistication...but then go off into stuff that feels like I'm listening to some high-school kids. Just my opinion as someone who does appreciate some of your content.
I think the whole idea is supposed to be a little juvenile. I don’t think they’re 100% serious, so they just talk out of their ass about stuff. That’s just my perception.

Criticism doesn’t have to come from experience. If somebody is dissatisfied with a product or art piece, they don’t have to make it themselves just to say they don’t like it.
That being said, LCD Soundsytem is actually alright.
Tyler did that for years, but he clearly didn't want you to know.
