Love your vids, the colors you selected and that you actually show us which ones. You made my painting life so much simpler!

Thank you so much for the kind words. My whole intention when I started the channel was to try and encourage folks into the painting part of the hobby. I hope you enjoy bringing your game to life :)

I like the tunic pattern, I have always thought of patterns needing to be high contract to have a great effect but even just the more subtle yellow/orange looks great and probably much better than a high contrast yellow/black.

You are too kind. The miniature deserved more time and effort to be put into it, but the players are happy and that is all that really matters. I am hoping in future videos the miniatures look ok.

I haven’t had much luck in shading/blending with contrast paints. I was trying to take a branch on some Warcry terrain from brown at the base, to green at the tips but just couldn’t get it to work right. You’d think contrasts would work great but I had the same problem as you did with the yellow and orange blend.

Yes they definitely have a learning curve and some simple techniques are almost impossible. I guess we can’t have everything in one type of paint

This is the last one! Well done!
Looking forward to see all these painted stuff come together!
Hahaha, you really had to hurry through these two miniatures (see the Elf-video), didn't you? 😅 You saved the headband and ring for later?

haha, yep I need to practice what I preach. All the character models will get returned to once I get a few games in. Lot's of plans for the game in the future. I also need female miniatures as two of my players are Women and they would of course like the option of using female minis. Loads more to come. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Have a great day :)

While doing the skin you said it's "hrad to mess this up", i think you underestimate me. 😉.
Nice video. I haven't tried to do the wash first, i may give it a try.

Haha have a little faith in yourself and remember mistakes are very easily repaired with white paint, it takes more time that is all :)

I turned the volume up a fair bit. Was concerned it would be too loud but if that’s what it should be then I’m happy to keep it that way. Thank you for letting me know

Congratulations on another great Decrepit Gaming video!
    👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
I'll be honest, I would have left the orange off the mini, and I think the second wash over the base colours look like it has dirtied the model a bit. That's a problem I found using Agrax Earthshade over my acrylic base colours. I feel it ruined my paintjob.
I'm working towards trying your white undercoat/wash method on a mini after not being happy with the slapchop method. I wasn't getting decent white highlights on the mini using that method.

Yes I noticed it dirtied the yellow down, with regular paints it is not a problem but the speedpaints are so thin it doesn’t take much to effect them. We are all Learning together.

@@DecrepitGaming Yellow is a pain of a colour. I've usually only used it for detail work, but remember years ago painting a yellow trenchcoated figure for a friend, and was never happy with it, although my friend was.

Thank you for the video, I have been following along and painting my minis at the same time. What are your thoughts of using a black spray paint primer followed by a white spray primer done at a 45degree angle from above? The model ends up with a white coat on the top with black underneath. I saw you use a similar technique on the tomb king bone dragon video. Can you do this and add shading with speed paints?

    • @DecrepitGaming
      @DecrepitGaming  8 місяців тому +1

Zenithal priming hmm. I am going to be painting some goblins over the next few days and I plan to try that technique. I have found so far that speed paints definitely prefer to be painted over a white primer. But I am going to try alternatives and we shall see what happens. I must truly thank you for continuing to watch my meagre efforts and supporting my channel. I hope to bring you some videos that you find useful in the future.
