Thank you very much, that really help me to fit mine, but I have a question for you, what the P button supposed to do? Also, is the left panel supposed to be lighted? Thanks
yo where did you get that shift boot, did you have to modify the trim or what was the process… i heard manual shift boot trim is a bit wider towards the back, planning on doing the same thing with this shift knob and don’t want the oem PRNDL lights still as it becomes redundant…
No modification is required! Literally just pulled the little PRNDL portion out of the trim (it comes out) and ticked it inside the area and snapped the new manual shift boot on. I’ll probably drop a video soon
I have never heard of that as an issue, make sure the wiring bundles are all routed properly. the wires have to be connected to their corresponding color
Hey is yours loose like if you barely give any force up it slides up right away? Just how mine is I don’t mind just would like it firm like how oem was. Also mine feels hollow and kinda rattle-ish Just curious
@ no this is just how they are, I added a tiny piece of paper around the edge of it and it snugs on tighter, only thing I can think of to make it firm is to crack it open and fill it with putty in the open gaps
Hey bro im considering on buying this shift knob, but i hate how the oem gear indicator is still there. Did you buy an manual e90 shift boot and did it fit perfectly?
Its supposed to be like that! Don’t worry, it uses such a tiny amount. I’ve had my car sitting for months at one point, and no battery issues at all. Believe me you should not worry
After 30 mins it will turn off. If you see it on and are worried, plug key in, cycle it on and then off and remove the key and exit the car and lock the door with the fob. Come back after 30-60 minutes and should be off, and if for some reason it really is stuck on then yea it’s like everyone said, you have a massive battery supply with the teeniest led light being powered by it. Will take insanely long before it actually drains the battery. 🎉 all of the e90’s are like this 😅
@@alinegalvez3823 relook over the wiring bundles and make sure they’re all correctly attached to the corresponding adapter, I’m sure one of the harnesses is just not installed properly

I would definitely see how long the owner has had it, check for oil leaks, oil smell while car is on, coolant leaks, check the coolant level if you can, check the oil cap for head gasket buildup, drive the car and check the transmission, make sure it shifts good in sport mode and manual mode too, check there’s no lights on the dash or anything hidden, check the oil level to make sure the previous owner ran it on good oil. I always use reverse psychology and ask if the car is fast and if they raced it and sometimes they’ll say yes so I know to stay away from it. A clean car with no mods is better than a modded car that isn’t clean and taken care of.
@IzzyE9X i just wrapped my plastics in carbon fiber last night and now that I see yours I don’t few so bad about mine anymore lol. What’s the top button of the knob do? Considering that in the f30 it’s to park
3 years later and this video is still helpful 🙏🏽 thanks
Waiting on mine to come in, glad I have UA-cam so I don’t have to follow an instruction manual for installation 😂👍🏼
You’ll love it when it comes in! I’m glad I could help!
I need this boot!
Is the unlock button more loose than the original shift knob?
@@IzzyE9X oh okay thanks. Can it cause transmission malfunctions or battery drainage? And do you still use it?
What was the response to this? I just installed one and the unlock seems kinda loose and doesn't always engage
Thank you very much, that really help me to fit mine, but I have a question for you, what the P button supposed to do? Also, is the left panel supposed to be lighted? Thanks
the P button is really just for looks, the panel however does stay lighted I believe. I have a manual style shift boot, so that panel is all hidden
What P button? Im curious as to what to look for?
Hi, my problem would be that none of the LEDs turn off, even if I lock the car, it continues to light up. Do you know any solution for it?
Just unplug the wires. You can still use it. Without those wires
Hey, how did you doo with the manual cover so that it stays tight , mine is too big and stays very lose…
Can you switch back and forth between OEM and new screens?
hi mate
can you send me link to buy this wonderful gear shift knob thanks

Jus did the mod and the only thing is the drive light doesn’t turn on when in drive. It turns to a dim parking light. Any suggestions?

So is that boot you got for a manual or auto? I ask because you have more space since you disregarded the gear indicator.
The boot is a manual style boot, it looks a lot more clean in my opinion
@@IzzyE9X hi would you be able to link where you got the manual shift boot from? :)
