Lately I've dedicated most of my time modding the engine and exterior of my e93 BMW 335i without showing much love to the interior. So It was only fair that I start looking into how I can possibly freshen up the outdated look of the interior but without breaking the bank. I found the perfect solution that just happens to be very cheap!

Tip for corners.. apply the heat gun in the direction of the adhesive side under the vynil, almost directly then pull and hold

real carbon fiber interior pieces aren't even functional, my f82 m4s carbon pieces weigh as much as regular trim pieces of my old 335i. Its just for looks. but bro you did a really good job!

Looking good man, nevermind about the not so perfect areas, you can always redo them. The way I see it, the fact you did it yourself theres more pride in your ride!
When you do the vent holes, you move the excess from the outside corners into the center of the vent hole. Then you cut the excess away and because there is more material in the vent hole, you now have enough to wrap around the corners of the interior curves...

Definitely looks harder than what it actually is. Just take your time with the corners!
try stretching the wrap out more on those corners. Just takes patients for the trim piece to come out flawless.

I used 5D carbon fiber vinyl from ebay a couple months back in my 350z and it turned out amazing. Literally cant tell the difference between real carbon fiber and wrap. There's a video on youtube that demonstrates how similar the two look.
Good job, i did my 2004 E60 about 8 years ago and let me tell you the interior wrap last. I will need to redo a few this winter because i am a perfectionist but i wish i was a young DIYer and had time to make videos. Keep the videos going...
I did mine not too long ago and the way I did the corner was heat gun and a lot of pulling in order to follow the shape of the trim.
Very important as I just did mine in matte blue: when removing the main dashboard trim the passenger side (the edge of the trim where the vent is) is “hooked” onto the support which looks like a nail. Safest way to remove the trim is loosen up everything and then slide the trim to the right so you free it from the peg behind it.
You should’ve explained how you would deal with the corners next time you do this. Great video either way :)

Wow that looks great! The wood grain to me looks very old and outdated on these cars. My friend has a Mercedes with the same fake wood grain and it looks tacky in my opinion. The CF really brought the sports car modern theme that it lacked on the interior. Good job I know this must have took hours!
Yeah I'm really digging the look of the trim now. And yes it took several hours to complete!
Carbon wrapped the centre console, stereo due to worn rubberized paint & rear panels either side of rear screen had faded on my SLK. Looks great now, worth doing & only cost £12 for vinyl wrap off Ebay

You do the corners first. Then the extra material in on the long sides. Then you diagonally pull on the long sides as you work from one end to the other to slowly use up the excess..
Best tip would be to make sure one knows the material one will be applying . There are many different sorts of vinyl and some require a lot of heat for flexing , while other may not need heat at all .
I’ve got an ‘07 525xi. Definitely not the fastest nor nicest. But I have been looking at doing something like this. I’m tired of the wood, it just makes the car look as old as it is. I love the style of this carbon fiber so I’m definitely gonna knock this out in the summer

When removing the trim you state "the clips just snap right off" .. you mean "break off", right? That is usually what happens to me.
In my experience they didn't break. Lucky me I suppose

For the center console… did you take the vents in the middle off? I’m in the middle of that and it’s giving me a real hard time
It came out better than I expected, but I still don't consider covering wood with vinyl to be an upgrade.

My stepdad did the same thing but he put a red line on the dash , down the "wood" things , but he used the original carbon paper for them

This carbon fiber is actually great man, kinda matches my actual CF from my E92. I've seen some too glossy CF wrap and thats when it looks ricey, but mainly I think CF wrap steering wheel starts becoming rice

It creased more than usual cuz ur supposed to heat it up and kind of stretch it when ur putting it on the trim (at least I think comment if I’m wrong)

I would never wrap my interior cause I'm ocd when it comes to keeping my 335 OEM. If it was an older gen I'd mod the fuck out of it, but it's an F30 so I'm thinking of getting the m performance Alcantara/carbon trim. I currently have the carbon/Alcantara parking brake and shifter. I love carbon
